── they become strangers to alliances to so-called friends and potential lovers. there's always tension between them while irena likes to poke around him sometimes. she doesn't do it enough to annoy him but only to get a blunt response out of him to prove that he isn't some heartless monotone jerk. he slowly starts to fall for her without realizing that he is. 
── zoro is protective around people he feels close to and potentially cares for, even when they were strangers at first. he has a soft spot for women and making sure that they're safe without trying to show that he genuinely cares. like what he did for the little girl, rita, he would make sure whoever is the jerk apologizes and knows their wrongdoing or else he'll punish them.
