CECILE CHEVROLET WALKED graciously in the Mikaelson mansion with her flowy crimson red ballgown, a slit showing off her smooth legs that caught the attention of everyone. Eye contact was something Cecile tried to deflect from, but the looks that her friends and family gave her, inspired confidence to surge.
Cecile scanned her whereabouts to find the person who specifically told her not to go to this event. Of course, out of rebellion, she didn't follow his rules.
"Well, I see you clearly disobeyed my rules about going to this party. What am I going to do with you?" Cecile smiled at Stefan and slapped him gently on his chest.
"Please, Uncle Stefan, you know me. I can't deny a party as beautiful as this." Smiling at his niece, Stefan scanned her dress wondering where it came from. It certainly looked expensive and by the expression on Cecile's face, it was evident Damon had to do something with it.
"Where did you get this dress?"
"Ask Uncle Damon, he's the one that took me dress shopping," Cecile grabbed a glass of wine and drank it before Stefan could stop her. "Oh, we also used your credit card," she said, quickly escaping before her uncle could protest.
The perks of being human and having vampire uncles are that they spoil her all the time. However even though she is human and is not as strong as her relatives, her feistiness and intimidating looks were enough to terrify people.
Speaking of Damon, Cecile spotted her uncle talking to Carol Lockwood, probably trying to swoon her as he does with every single woman in Mystic Falls. "Hello Uncle Damon, Carol."
"Hey Cici, that dress is beautiful, where did you get it? Oh, that's right, I bought it for you." Damon had his typical arrogant tone laced in his voice, making Cecile roll her eyes sarcastically at him.
"The dress is pretty, yes, but I make it look like a queen." Damon gave his niece a proud look, loving the confidence, knowing she probably got that trait from him. Cecile, Carol, and Damon were all talking, but that got interrupted when a man around her age walked up to the trio.
"Mayor Lockwood, we haven't formally met. Kol Mikaelson. I hope your lovely town embraces us just as much as we plan to embrace it." The seemingly charming man kissed the mayor's hand as a form of gratitude.
"Damon Salvatore. Have we met?" Kol looked at Damon's hand which was stuck out for him to shake, but he ignored it and looked back at him.
"I've met a lot of people. And you don't particularly stand out." Kol's wicked smile escaped from his lips, but that expression quickly diminished when he saw Cecile. Her big brown doe eyes glistening in the light, the red crimson dress reminding him of the queen, caught the original vampire off guard.
In all honestly, Kol has never met a beautiful dame like her. Kol quickly recomposed himself, noticing that he was staring at Cecile a little longer than he intended.
"However, you love, are quite enchanting. I'm Kol Mikaelson." He grabbed Cecile's hand and was about to plant a kiss on it, but she quickly pulled back in disgust, not buying the charm that she figured out all too well from her past. She couldn't deny it, Kol was very charming, but she couldn't help but judge him by his arrogant first impression.
It was no doubt that Cecile was gorgeous. Unfortunately, as a teenager, she has had her heart broken too many times by stupid men and women that took advantage of her. From these experiences, her goals of looking for a relationship were far down her priorities list.
"Am I supposed to fall head over heels for you? Goodbye, Kol Mikaelson." The fake smile on Cecile's face made Kol become even more interested in her as she walked away. Her daring personality and feistiness didn't divert Kol away but rather more intrigued.
Cecile found her way back to Stefan who noticed her bitterness. "Ouch, did you hurt anyone yet? Seems like you did by just looking at your face." Cecile smiled, loving her uncle's humor, but quickly shut down the idea that she hurt someone. Cecile told her uncle what Kol did and he couldn't be more proud of her.
"Nope, didn't hurt anyone, but his annoyance sure provoked me to snap his neck." Stefan's interest piqued when Cecile said: "he." He followed her vision straight ahead to where she was staring at and the person in front of Cecile was the one and only Kol Mikaelson.
"Huh, so Kol Mikaelson? Yeah, I'd snap his neck too." Laughter filled the air between the uncle and niece duo. Stefan was about to go over to Damon and Carol, but the doors suddenly opened to reveal Elena in a shimmery black and gold dress, grabbing the attention of both Damon and Stefan.
Cecile huffed in frustration when her uncles walked away to go to Elena. She hoped she finally had alone time with Stefan and Damon, but with Elena here, it was obvious they will be occupied.
It wasn't that Cecile didn't like Elena, in fact, she was one of her closest friends, but her uncles would hang out more with her instead of Cecile.
"Now darling, what's a pretty girl like you all alone when you should be with me?" Cecile snapped her head to the voice to reveal Kol towering her with a drink in his hand.
"What do you want, I'm not in the mood." When Cecile turned to look at Kol, she saw genuine concern in his eyes which was extremely off-putting, considering his sarcastic personality.
"What's wrong, love. Is there something bothering you? Perhaps I can make it better." Kol had his signature smirk, yet, the care in his voice was authentic.
Cecile simply nodded her head no then proceeded to walk up the stairs to get fresh air on the balcony. She told Kol not to follow her, but Kol being Kol, deliberately disobeyed.
The cool breeze hit Cecile's face as she opened the door to the balcony, the refreshing state of tranquility finally overwhelming her body.
"So what's got you in such a pissy mood this evening? I would like to know so I can handle this problem." When she didn't respond, Kol put down his drink on the balcony and noticed how Cecile's head was tilted down in disappointment.
Tired of seeing her like this, Kol put his thumb on her chin, forcing her to look at him. "Hey, look at me." Kol's voice was strong, yet, considerate. "What's wrong?"
"It's stupid, I don't even know why you care, you're just charming me for my blood," Cecile said while letting a small tear run down her face.
"Nothing is stupid when it comes to you, sweetheart. Also, it might come as a shock to you, but you are very intriguing. I don't want your blood." For the first time since tonight, Cecile let out a sincere smile she never knew could come out on her face.
"Well, long story short, all I want is to finally have quality time with my uncles, Damon and Stefan. One of my friends, Elena has both of them wrapped around her arms, literally. I just feel like I'm a burden to my family, especially since I'm human." Nonchalantly wiping away her tears, Cecile saw Kol's sympathy towards her.
"Not once in your lifetime should you ever be treated like that." Kol unintentionally shattered his glass in his hands, slightly scaring Cecile. He soon walked away to go back downstairs, but Cecile stopped him.
"Kol, where are you going?"
"I'm going to show your uncles the blessing that they have right in front of their dull eyes." Before Kol could shed blood, Cecile grabbed his arm, pleading with him to not make a scene. Luckily he obeyed, not wanting to ruin Cecile's night any longer.
"Now, would you do me the honor and dance with me, Cecile Chevrolet?" Her head tilted with confusion, wondering how Kol knew her name since she didn't formally tell him.
"Now, how do you know my name? I never told you this?" Kol's face suddenly turned pale, completely oblivious to the fact that Cecile never introduced her name.
"I uh-well... word get's around." Kol plastered on the most convincing smile he had. Not having enough energy to question it, Cecile simply nodded her head and proceeded to walk with Kol to the dance floor.
Cecile and Kol both danced elegantly as he twirled her, making the beautiful crimson dress flow like a princess. Cecile noticed eyes on her, so she scanned the ballroom to see her ex staring at her. Matt Donovan.
"What's wrong, love? Am I that much of a terrible dancer?" Cecile laughed slightly, but before she could explain to Kol her stumbles, everyone switched their partners. Unfortunately for Cecile, her new partner was Matt.
The tension was evident between the pair, not one of them speaking a word to each other.
"Cici, can we please talk?"
"There is nothing to talk about Matt, you cheated on me with Elena. That's it." Cecile tried her best to hold back the tears that were threatening to spill out.
"I'm sorry, okay. It was stupid of me." Shaking her head, the tears finally coming down, Cecile broke away from Matt and escorted her way off the dance floor, hoping nobody would see her.
But unluckily for Cecile, Kol was eavesdropping the entire time, listening to the conversation which made his blood boil. Now, he was going to teach Matt a lesson.
Cecile went back to the balcony she and Kol were at, hoping for some alone time, however, Matt didn't get the memo and followed her up there.
"Cecile, please I want to explain everything-"
"No! I don't want to hear it. Matt, I said leave me alone!" In a quick flash of a second, Kol went up behind Matt and tapped him on the shoulder.
"Good evening, I don't believe we've met. Kol Mikaelson."
"Matt Donovan." As Kol shook his hand, the bones cracking made it clear to Cecile that he was crushing it.
"Okay, Kol, that's enough." When Matt let out a shriek of pain, Cecile was about to step in, until she heard the voice of her uncle.
"Easy on the hand. Guy's a quarterback." Damon then pushed Kol off of the balcony, making Cecile cover her mouth in shock, but then she remembered that they were both vampires.
Cecile instantly rushed down the stairs to make sure her uncle and Kol were okay. Before Damon could do further damage, Stefan pulled him off of Kol.
When she made sure Kol was okay and helped him up, she slapped him hard across the face, making him smile mischievously.
"What the hell was that?! You shouldn't have done that to Matt."
"I heard what he did to you and I wasn't about to just sit down and let him hurt you like that. I won't let it happen."
Shaking her head in disgust, Cecile was about to walk away, until Kol suddenly grabbed her wrist, making her body press against his. His tall figure made Cecile look up at him, their lips so close together, their breath hitching against one another. Kol was about to make his move until Cecile swiftly slapped him across the face once more.
"Don't try that again, or I will gouge out those pretty eyes." Kol couldn't help but smile at Cecile's ferociousness.
"Now there's the fire I adore all too well. Goodnight, Cecile."
