Β Β Β Β Β "CASHMERE AND GLOSS. BROTHER AND SISTER. District 1. They won back-to back Games. Capitol favourites. Lots of sponsors. They will be lethal", Haymitch explain to them as the TV showed a blonde man and woman, who both smiled into the camera.
The man switched the video, "And the others half of the Career Pack, Brutus and Enobaria."
"What's with her teeth?", Katniss questioned their Mentor curiously. "She had them filed into fangs so she could rip people's throat out."
"She's committed. I'll give her that", Peeta stated simply before Haymitch switched the videos again.
"Wires and Beetee. Not fighters, but brilliant. And weird. Real tech-savvy. He won his games by electrocuting six Tributs at once", he explained to the two Tributes impressed.
"The Morphings. Masters of Camouflage. Basically won their games by hiding until everyone else was dead. Self-medicating ever since. Which I applaud. Not a thread", Haymitch shrugged carelessly before he continued.
Suddenly a young blonde boy appeared on the screen. "Finnick Odair, right?"
"Yes, he won his games at 14. Youngest ever. Extremely humble", Haymitch said sarcastically as he looked over at Katniss.
"You're kidding?", the dark haired woman questioned him and her Mentor nodded his head. "Yes, I'm kidding. He's a peacock. A total preener. But he's the Capitol darling. They love him here. Charming, smart, and very skilled in combat. Especially in water."
"What about weaknesses?", Peeta questioned him curiously and Haymitch sighed, "One. Kathryn Moore."
He switched to a young brunette woman, who now stood besides Finnick, "Kathryn volunteered for Annie Crester. She is very close with Finnick. He was her Mentor. If they're trying to protect each other in any way, it exposes them."
"Okay, so she's not a threat?", Katniss questioned him with a raised eyebrow.
Haymitch smiled at her, "I never said that." The man looked up to the brunette woman on the screen. The woman's face was blankly, no smile, she didn't wave at the crowd.
"She's deadly. Very skilled with her knives and a bow."
His and Katniss eyes met for a brief moment, "After her Ally was killed byΒ a member of the Career Pack, she hunted them down and killed one after the other. Veryβ" He seemed to search for the right word, "βbrutally."
"I would definitely watch out for her in the arena", he then stated before Katniss spoke up once more. "I bet if it comes down to it, they won't protect each other."
Haymitch looked at her as he shook his head, "Well, Katniss, I think you're very wrong. But if it's that case I just hope they go quietly. They both are actually wonderful young people."
Katniss fell back into silence while she stared at the blank face of the brunette.
On the very same afternoon Kathryn stood in a large and cold room, staring silently into the mirror right infront of her.
The walls around her were painted in a dreary grey and the furnishings were kept very modern.
Kathryn could remember this room from when she was in her first Games. She could still remember how her thoughts wouldn't rest and how she got sick to her stomach as she was about to go onto the big stage.
Tirvan, her stylist had entered the room, and Kathryn had been totally intimidated by him.
The man was one of the most exclusive stylist in the whole Capitol and he was someone, who presented himself with pure elegance and glory.
His dark chocolate brown eyes were framed by a dark and beautiful eyeshadow, while his dark hair wasΒ short and curly.
The man always wore a suit and had a several golden earrings dangling from his left ear.
Kathryn's thoughts were interrupted as suddenly the doors flew open, revealing no other than Tirvan and his assistants, who stepped into the room.
"Kathryn Moore", the man smirked as he stretched out his arms for her to hug him.
The brunette woman didn't took long before she jumped up from the metal chair and run into the man's arms.
"Tirvan, you don't know how good it is to see you", the young woman stated before she took a step backwards.
The woman could slowly watch his face expression changed before his smile completely disappeared from his face, "Honestly, I hoped we would never see each other again, sweetheart."
There was silence filling the room before the man suddenly clapped his hands together and turned towards his assistants, "Now, now. We have a job to do."
He pointed to the chair as one of the woman handed him a box. "Sit", he stated simply and Kathryn didn't complained as she sat down infront of the mirror.
The assistants immediately surrounded her and Tirvan started to fulfill his work.
A long hour passed by and by the end of it, Kathryn was dressed in a very long dress, that consisted out of golden silk.
It had a train out of golden nets, around her waist was another one, which started to make it's way down across her body.
Her light brown hair was put into a wonderful braid, and many shiny pearls adorned it.
Her eyeshadow was glimmering in a golden shine and when Kathryn looked into the mirror her breath hitched.
The woman continued to stare at herself in the mirror, "T- thank you."
Tirvan had his arms crossed over his chest as he eyed his masterpiece up and down, "That's my job, sweetheart. Now go and shine."
When Kathryn made her way later through the large hall, she could already see all the carriages standing in a straight row.
The brunette's eyes slowly travled over the many tributes that had already gathered and soonly she spotted Johanna, who was standing besides Finnick and the other Tribute from her district.
As the dark haired woman spotted her, her face fell immediately, "Oh, of course! You have to look stunning as well!"
Kathryn looked at her confused while Johanna continued her complaining, "My stylist is a complete idiot!"
Finnick eyed Kathryn up and down and their eyes met when the brunette looked up at him.
"I think what she means is, that you look absolutely breathtaking", the man told her with a small smile playing on his lips.Β
Kathryn smiled as well before she looked him up and down, "Thank you, but I honestly can't say the same for you. I'm sorry."
The woman let out a laugh and Finnick rolled with his eyes as he sighed, "I know, I know. It's ridiculous."
Suddenly Johanna's voice interrupted their conversation. "And there she comes. Ladys and Gentlemen, the girl on fire", Johanna said in a sarcastic voice as she rolled with her eyes.
Finnick immediately smirked as his gaze wandered over the girl, "Let's see if she's as feisty as everybody says."
The blonde man spun around before he casually grabbed a couple of sugar cups and strolled over to Katniss Everdeen, who was having a conversation with her horse.
When Finnick had reached her the woman faced him and the two spoke for a moment.
Kathryn could see how Katniss got a bit uncomfortable when Finnick took a step forward and she quickly decided to join them.
"Unfortunately I think thats true", she could hear Finnick say before she had finally reached the two.
"The girl on fire", Kathryn stated as she eyed Katniss up and down. "I have to say I'm pretty impressed, you're Stylist did a good job. Very intimidating."
The dark haired woman eyed her, a polite smile on her face, before she spoke up, "So did yours. You look stunning."
Kathryn gave her a thankful nodd before she placed her hand on Finicks upper arm, "I hope he wasn't bothering you. He can be a pain in the ass sometimes."
Katniss now smirked a bit amused, "No, everything is fine."
The two women stared at each other in silence before Kathryn nodded her head, "All right. We better get going. It's showtime."
She shot Katniss one last look before she and Finick both spun around and walked past Peeta, who was just approaching them, "Hello, Peeta."
Kathryn smirked at him and Peeta nodded back at the two, "Finnick, Kathryn."
The two tributes had reached their carriage again when Finnick smirked at her, "Jealous, Kathy?"
The brunette raised an eyebrow at him questiongly, "About what? that you were talking to her?"
Finnick silently nodded his head and Kathryn scoffed, "Get over yourself. Never." She smiled amused and Finick did the same before they both climbed into the carriage.
In that moment Tirvan called out their names, their heads snapped towards him and when the Stylist had reached the two he gave them instructions. "I want you to hold hands while you're out there. Show them that you're a team."
The Tributes nodded at him before the wagon slowly started rolling towards the sunny opening on the end of the hall.
The two stared straight ahead and Finnick carefully grabbed the womans hand when they rolled out of the hall.
Kathryn could feel their fingers melting into each other as the crowd roared at them and clapped their hands in excitement.
"District four! Finnick Odair and Kathryn Moore!", a voice shouted through the loudspeaker, introducing them to the crowd.
Kathryn tightened her grip on Finicks hand before she stared waving at the audience, smiling widely.
The wagon made it's way down the way and rounded a stature by the end, making it's away back to the hall.
The whole way Kathryn was feeling sick to the stomach, she was smiling and waving, but she knew that this was her end.
The dead end.
Β Β Β Β Β KATHRYN WAS SITTING IN HER LARGE dinning room, besides Natalie and Grayson as they were all cutting vegetables for their mum's soup.
Natalie and Grayson were both singing happyly and Kathryn smiled as she stood up to bring the vegetables into the kitchen.
As the brunette placed them on the counter she heard metal clattering onto the hard floor.
"Natalie! What are you doing in there?", she shouted over her shoulder. There was no answer and Kathryn slowly made her way around the corner, her eyes widened by the scene that was given.
Instead of her siblings there was Taylor, a hole in her forehead as she stood directly infront of her.
"You killed me, Kathy", the blonde sneered at her before she suddenly stabbed the brunette into her throat.
Kathryn gasped immediately, her breath trembling as she inhaled deeply for air.
Suddenly Kathryn snapped out of her dream, screaming her lungs out while she touched her throat with her hands.
The door immediately flew open and Finnick ran inside, his hair a complete mess as his eyes were wide open, "Are you okay?"
The brunette was still catching her breath as she nodded at him, "I'm fine. It was just a bad dream."
The man let his shoulders sink down relaxed before he sighed and rubbed his eyes, "Uh,β okay then. I better get going."
The man had just reached the door as Kathryn spoke up quietly, "Umβ can you stay with me?"
There was a moment of silence and if she hadn't been so occupied with herself she might had realized that Finick was bushings madly before he approached her slowly.Β
The man carefully lifted up her duvet and slipped under it as Kathryn hesitantly snuggled up to him.
The brunette placed her head on his chest and Finnick slowly placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Do you want to talk about it?", he carefully questioned her and Kathryn shook her head slowly. "Not really."
The brunette stared into the darkness and quietly listened to Finnick's calming heartbeat. Feeling Finnick stroke her arm with his thumb she quickly fell asleep again.
When Kathryn woke up the next morning Finnick was still there, holding her close to him, his eye closed.
Kathryn eyes him for a small moment, a small smile on her lips before she carefully woke him up.
Finnish seemed still pretty sleepy as he sat up hesitantly, his eyes darting towards Kathryn, who looked at him, "Thank you for staying."
The man held her gaze before he gave her a small smile as well, "Always."
A short moment after Finick had left her room one of the Capitols maids entered, handing her her trainings suit.
The brunette got ready and after breakfast she finally stepped into the large trainings center.
As soon as the woman stepped inside she could her the fighting noises and let her gaze wander over the many tributes while she released a deep breath.Β
Her eyes travled over Enobaria and her tribute partner Brutus, were both training combat with each other and then over to Cashmere and Gloss, who were both showing off their knife skills.
The brunette continued her way through the training hall, while her eyes landed on Johanna, who agressivly swung her axe through the air.
The brunette wasn't very found of the opportunity to speak with District one or two so she went to a empty station.
There was a large display, that showed how a knot was tied. Eventhought Kathryn came from the fishing District the woman wasn't that good at tying knots.
The brunette carefully grabbed the two ends of the roap and looked down at them when she suddenly felt a presence behind her.
"Here", someone whispered into her ear while two strong arms wrapped around her body.
Kathryn flinched out of the arms and gasped as she saw that it was Finnick.
"God, you scared me!", she hissed at the man, slapping him onto the arm.
The man smiled at her a bit amused, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I really didn't mean to."He turned back towards the roaps and pulled her back into his arms.
He guided her hands, while whispering into her ear, "Here. Let me show you the best knot for the arena."
Kathryn looked up at him, her head slightly turning to the side. Finnick chuckled amused, his gaze falling down to her, "Don't look at me, look at the knot."
Her eyes traveled to the knot and Finnick spoke up again, "This is the bit where it gets quiet complicated."
He lifted the roap up and quickly pushed it over his head. The roap hanging around his neck. Finnick then pulled it tighter, while he fake gasped for air. Simulating that he was fainting he smiled amused.
Kathryn shook her head at him, a smile playing on her lips while she stepped back, "Very funny. You're a funny guy."
Finnick held up the end of the roap for her to take, he raised his eyebrows at her questiongly, "You want to take me for a walk?"
Kathryn chuckled and rolled her eyes when the two suddenly realized that a large group of people had gathered infront of the sperated training room for bows and arrows. The two exchanged a look before they decided to join the others.
As they reached the crowd, the two saw how Katniss performed for them.
The dark haired woman hit one moving target after the other and as she was finished, Wires started clapping loudly, making everyone look at her.Β
Katniss head snapped towards the crowd in surprise and Kathryn crossed her arms over her chest as she looked up to Finnick, "Maybe the girl on fire would be a good ally after all."
