𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐗𝐓 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆, the group was sitting in an ambulance that was parked right outside their apartment. The pain in Lizzie's arm was nearly gone, mostly because of the very good pain killers the paramedic had given her. But while the blond was holding her injured arm, she was feeling like she was gonna get sick to her stomach.
The though that Anika's mutilated body was laying only a could meters away from them, just totally disturbed her. Even though they hadn't been friends for long, Anika had grown on her.
The blood had dried on Lizzie's hand and arm while her mascara was smudged under her eyes. She glanced down at her fresh bandages, before her gaze suddenly fell onto Mindy, who stared over at the crime scene.
"I'm so sorry about Anika", the blond told her friend honestly, placing a hand on her shoulder. The girl gave her a sad look, her hands wrapped around her own body, "She just wanted to protect me."
They had lost two friends last night. Quinn and Anika didn't knew them as long as they all knew each other, but they had been friends. Anika even a very loved one to Mindy. And now she was dead.
The blond frowned slightly when she spotted how Ethan climbed through under the police barrier, a frown on his face, "Chad?"
Chad on the other hand didn't seem confused at all when he dashed towards Ethan as soon as he came in sight. The jock grabbed the guy by his shirts and slammed him hardly against one of the cars behind him, "Where were you?"
Ethan's eyes were wide, showing that he was scared of his roommate right now, "When?"
"Last night!"
"What? I had Econ, you know that!", Ethan answered him desperately, his eyes pleading.
Chad immediately shook his head at him, screaming loudly, "Bullshit, man! You disappear and my sister almost gets killed!"
"Dude, I was in a study hall with a hundred other people! You can ask any of them", Ethan shouted back at him, his hands held into the air.
Chad gave Ethan one last sceptical glance, before he finally let go of the boy, "Fuck, man!"
The two stepped back from each other and Ethan's gaze moved to the murder scene behind Chad. "Oh, my God. Who?"
"Anika and Quinn", Chad told him in a flat tone before he walked back towards the ambulance where Lizzie, Mindy and Tara were sitting.
Ethan followed after him, "Mindy, I'm so sorry." His face expression seemed like he was truly feeling for the girl, but Mindy gave him a cold look, "Step the fuck back."
Ethan immediately took a step backwards, seeming like he felt mistreated. Mindy just gave him a dark look, "You're at the top of my list."
"I had Econ!"Ethan's voice grew louder once more, his eyes wandering over the group.
Tara suddenly placed a hand on Mindy's shoulder, "I'm gonna be right back."
Lizzie watched how she walked over to Sam and Officer Bailey, the three talked for a moment, before no other than Gale Weather's suddenly hurried towards them.
"Hey, are you okay? I came as soon as I heard. Where's Elizabeth?", the black haired woman questioned the Carpenter sister's immediately.
Lizzie quickly got onto her feet and jumped out of the ambulance, before she slowly approached the group.
The rage immediately bubbled up inside of Sam, "Gale, I swear to God-!"
"Truce, okay? I'm here for whatever you need", Gale immediately tried to make it known that she was only there to help them.
Lizzie huffed loudly, catching Gale's attention before she stepped besides Tara, giving her Godmother a curious once over, "Yeah, Nice try."
You could see the the relief in Gale's eyes when she saw that Lizzie was okay. "Really, I am." The woman gave them a wide eyed look before she sigehd heavily, "Okay, fine. Off the record, okay?"
Sam sighed as well while she exchange a look with the other's, "Okay- thank you."
Gale's gaze then slowly moved over to Tara, the girl had an unconvincing look on her face, "I'm sorry I punched you."
Gale smirked slightly at her, "No, you're not." Tara suddenly broke into a large grin, "No, I'm not."
Lizzie gave Tara a questioning look, before Gale met her gaze, "I'm sorry, Liz."
The blond had her arms crossed over her chest, while she gave her a cold look, "Don't. Just- help us get this piece of shit. Okay?" The woman nodded in silence.
"You're the cop, right?", Gale then questioned the grey haired man that was standing in-between Sam and Tara. The man nodded at her, the tears still whelming up in his eyes, because of his daughter Quinn.
"I did some digging on your first two victims and I found something. I know where the masks are coming from." The police officer gave her a hopeful look, "Show me."
"Ladies", another female voice suddenly addressed them and Lizzie attention was drawn towards a woman with blond hair approaching them.
Gale frowned immediately, "Kirby?" The blond gave her a small smile that didn't seem very friendly, "Gale."
"She's with the FBI", Sam explained to the reporter. "She's a child. When did they start letting children into the FBI?", Gale immediately stated, giving Kirby a side glance.
Kirby seemed annoyed by her comment, "I'm thirty." Gale didn't back down and continued, her gaze showing her disapproval, "Well, you look like a zygote."
Kirby narrowed her eyes at the dark haired woman besides her, "I have a gun, Gale."
The woman then sighed in defeat, "Okay, fine. You're gonna want to see this, too."
Sam, Gale ans Kirby then went towards the rest of the group, while Tara and Lizzie stayed behind, "Kirby is a survivor of the Ghostface killings in 2010. You know -Jill Roberts-"
Lizzie nodded quickly while she watched Kirby curiously. The adults didn't waste much time and gathered the group before they drove to the destination Gale had texted them.
"Jason and Greg were little Atlanta rich boys", Gale stated while she lead the large group through a creepy looking ally, past a wall that had a large image of Ghostface on it. "Apparently they used fake names to rent this place."
"How did you find it?", Kirby questioned her, the two walking at the front of the group, while Lizzie was further at the back with Chad and Mindy.
"It's called investigative journalism for a reason. How didn't you find it? Weren't you tracking them?" The blond listened to Gale's sarcastic remark, while she watched how Chad tired to stick his finger in Mindy's ear.
The girl immediately slapped his finger away, shooting him a glare. Lizzie smirked slightly while they continued their way through the ally.
Kirby didn't seem to understand why she didn't stubble over this when she tracked the victims, "I went through their financial records dozens of times. This was not in any of them. That doesn't make sense."
They made their way past a large metal staircase, when Gale gave Kirby a confident smile, "Don't worry. I'm just really good at my job. You'll get there."
The dark haired woman then opened the door for them and Kirby let out an annoyed sighed while she rolled with her eyes.
The group slowly followed the two women into the dark building, Lizzie was now walking up the stairs in front of Mindy and Chad, her eyes wandering over their surroundings.
At the end of the stairs was a metal gate, that Gale opened with a key card. She then pushed the metal door open, a loud shrinking sound coming from the rusty metal.
The woman lit her flashlight and steppes inside the room. "What is this place? What's with all the security?", Sam's voice could be heard through the darkness.
Suddenly the light went on and Tara spoke, "It's a movie theater."
Gale gave them a knowing look, "It's not just a movie theater. It's a shrine." She nodded at the room that laid in front of them and the group slowly entered.
There were so many different glass showcases on either side of the room, showing every victim of the different Ghostfaces' over all the centuries.
In the back of the room, the curtains were automatically pulled up and revealed the various Ghostface costumes, all standing under a light.
"They've got the whole goddamn franchise!", Mindy's voice echoed through the large room.
Lizzie noticed how Kirby stood in front of the glass showcases of Jill and Charlie before she came to a stand beside the woman.
"Chad, this is uncle Randy's", Mindy's voice suddenly came through the room again. "They've got everything!"
Lizzie was still standing besides Kirby, her gaze falling onto the in blood covered knife "Is that-?"
"The knife I was stabbed with", Kirby stated in a calm voice while she glanced at the gigantic knife. Lizzie had a shudder running down her spine before Officer Bailey caught their attention. "You've all been through so much."
Lizzie wandered around the room, coming to a stand beside Gale, who was standing in front of Dewey's glass showcases, "Who drew all these?"
The blond didn't get am answer from the other's, but she didn't notice because her gaze was landing on Gale.
The woman's eyes were showing her grief while she glanced at the photos of Dewey. Her voice was just above a whisper, "Dewey."
Lizzie slowly let her hand slipp into Gales, before she gave it a squeeze. The woman gave her a surprised look before Lizzie smiled at her and placed her head on her shoulder.
Suddenly Tara interrupted their moment, "Hey, how'd they get all this stuff? I mean- isn't this evidence."
Gale raised her eyes at her while her and Lizzie spun around to Tara, "Well, cops like money, and evidence can get lost pretty easily."
The woman then gave Kirby and Officer Bailey an apologizing glance, "Present company excluded, of course."
"Um, why am I here exactly? My alibi checks out", Ethan suddenly made his presence known to them. "So I can keep an eye on you, Roomie", Chad stated smiling, empathizing the word 'roomie' sarcastically.
Mindy gave him a suspicious glance while she made a motion with her hands that said 'I'm watching you'.
"The killer must have found this place before he murdered Jason and Greg. And then he took the masks off the mannequins. All nine, from Stu and Billy to Amber and Richie", Gale told them while Sam slowly made her way up onto the stage, stopping only when she stood right in front of her father's Ghostface costume. To his feet stood a sign with the name 'Billy' engraved into it.
Lizzie, Tara and the other's had slowly followed the woman onto the stage, all standing in front of different Ghostfaces'.
Lizzie's and Tara's gazes' showing their worry for Sam, when she suddenly started quietly talking to herself. "Fuck no-"
Sam hadn't realized that the two teenagers were standing right behind her, when she placed the palm of her hand again the cold glass of the showcase.
"Sam, what are you doing?" Tara suddenly questioned her older sister, a frown on her face.
Sam flinched back in surprise, her gaze guilty, like they had caught her doing something really evil. "Um-I don't know."
Tara still had an unsure look on her face, like Lizzie before the blond slowy made her way over to the glass showcase where Amber's costume was in.
The blond had images flash into her mind when she glanced at the name sign to her feet. Even though it was over a year ago, the blond still couldn't believe that Amber never really had been her friend.
All those times Lizzie had comforted in her, told her secrets, her fears and worries, Amber had never been her friend.
"So, somebody killed these chucklefucks and - took over?", Chad suddenly questioned them, his arms crossed over his chest.
"Someone who believes Sam masterminded Woodsboro", Gale explained to the group before Mindy joined in. "If this were a normal Stab movie, this would be the killer's lair."
"Which means this isn't a normal Stab movie", Kirby stated before Tara suddenly stormed out of the room. The other's all exchanged worried glances before Sam stormed after her.
A long moment passed by before Gale, Kirby and Lizzie also went after them, finding them in thew what seemed former lobby of the theater.
The moment the group had entered the room, Tara hurried upstairs and Kirby immediately went after her, "I got her."
"That seemed intense" Gale stated while Lizzie and her approached Sam. The brunette shook her head, "Ever since I came back into her life, I've just- made a mess of it."
"Hey- where's your mother in all of this?", Gale questioned her in a soft voice. Sam shook her head again, avoiding eye contact with either of them, "She cut me off when I told Tara about Billy. Then Tara cut her off because she wouldn't talk to me, so- now neither of us have a mother."
She looked up at them, smiling sadly before Gale shrugged, "I'm sorry to say this, but fuck her. My parents sucked, too. But you came still make your own family- even if it's just with one person."
Sam frowned after a second, "And if you loose that one person?"
Gale nodded at her before she spoke, "You just- you keep going. And maybe you find another loner, and you look after each other." The dark haired woman then took Lizzie's hand into her own, while the two exchange a long look.
Lizzie then placed her hand in Sam's and gave it a squeeze. "You'll always be part of my family, Sam. Don't forget that."
Sam gave her a thankful smile before she pulled the blond into a hug.
𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐍𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐘 evening in New York City and the group was now in central park, following through with Bailey's plan to locate the killer by tracking him.
Mind, Chad, Ethan and Lizzie were all sitting inside a white surveillance van with Kirby, while Sam and Tara were walking through the park, playing the bait under Bailey's surveillance.
"So, we're really doing the phone tracing thing that never works in the movies- it'll be all, keep him talking Sam. Two more minutes, I've almost got him- and then he hangs up just before we can get a lock", Mindy stated, seeming pretty confident that their plan wasn't going to work.
Kirby sighed before she gave her a smirk, "I can trace a call in under fifteen seconds."
Mindy's face expression fell, but a second later she had recovered from that comback, "Well, you've got them out there as bait." Kirby gave her an annoyed look, "Because the killer usually calls from somewhere nearby."
"And you think their safe because it's broad daylight in a public place?", the girl questioned her with narrowed eyes, while the other's just watched their conversation in silence.
"Look, I am here, okay? And so is Bailey", Kirby stated before Mindy cut her off, a blank expression on her face. "This is exactly how our Uncle Randy died! Broad daylight - public place- yanked into a van! Stab, stab, stab- no more Randy!"
Kirby's mouth opened slightly, "Huh." Ethan held his doritos over to Chad and Lizzie, offering them to take some, but both just gave him a look that said 'seriously'.
The curly haird boy slowly pulled them back, a confused look on his face before Kirby spoke up, "Hey, Sam? Stay frosty out there, okay?"
"We're good", Sam's calm voice came through the speaker. The brunette had just ended her words when they could suddenly hear a phone ringing.
Lizzie immediately jumped in her seat, before she began to look around, this wasn't Sam's phone that was ringing- it was her own.
The blond exchange a look with Kirby, before she slowly picked up the phone, "Hello?"
There was a deep voice on the other end of the phone, "Hello, Elizabeth." The blond frowned, "Who is this?"
"Oh, come on Elizabeth- you know who this is", the voice spoke sinister while the blond glanced over at Kirby, the panic visibile in her eyes.
The blond FBI agent gave her a nodd, and motioned for her to keep him on the phone. The blond felt her breath shaking before the voice suddenly went on, "- the important question you need to ask yourself is- where am I?"
Lizzie felt a cold shower running down her spine, "What— what do you mean?"
The voice seemed like the one speaking was amused, "I give you a tip I'm not nearby- you should know by now, I'm always a step ahead."
"Yeah, sure you are, you little fuck. You should know by now that it's never ending well for the fuckehead in the mask", the blond hissed into her phone angrily.
The blond's eyebrows raised in surprise when Ghostface suddenly chuckled on the other end of the line. "I'll be seeing you soon, Elizabeth." And with that the call was ended.
Lizzie immediately looked over at Kirby, and Sam's voice spoke through the speaker, apparently they had heard everything, "Did you get it?"
"Yep, geolocation coming through right now", the woman stated while she tapped something into her computer. Kirby suddenly frowned at the monitor, "He's on the Upper West Side. He's inside an apartment building, half way across the city."
The colour drained from Lizzie face when she realized that the address that was standing on the monitor, was Gale's address.
The blond jumped onto her feet immediately, before she dashed out of the van. Hurrying through the park where Sam and Tara where standing, she screamed, "He's after Gale! He's going to kill her! We need to hurry-"
The two siblings immediately exchanged a look, before they all stared running, Sam quickly pulled out her phone, "My friend Danny works in the Upper West Side, he can get there quicker."
"Yeah, or he could finish her off. Is it possible he's the killer?", Bailey questioned them while he was running behind the group.
Sam immediately groaned before she put her phone away, "Fuck!"
"We have to get there now!", Lizzie pleaded while they still ran through the park, towards the street.
"It's fifty blocks away. We don't even know if it's true! Sam, wait! Take a minute!", Bailey shouted at them, while they came to a stand.
"We don't have a minute!", Lizzie exclaimed, her voice loud while the tears where whelming up in her eyes. "He could be after her right now!"
"Sam- you have to trust me, we got to make the right call", the detective tried to convice them to stay before Tara's voice caught their attention. "Guys!"
They sound around, realizing that Tara was sitting in the diver seat of a police car. "Get in!"
The two didn't think about it twice, and immediately climbed into the car. Detective Bailey was screaming after them, "Hey, get out of my car! What do you think you're doing - that's an officer vehicle!"
Lizzie was now in the front seat, beside Tara while Sam was in the back, rolling her window up while they exchanged a look. "Should we use the sirens?"
"Did you really think we'd steal a police car and not use the sirens?", Tara questioned her, before she pressed the buttons for the sirens. "Fuck, yeah!"
The whole ride Lizzie couldn't sit still, she had this anxious feeling and the fact that all she could was hope that she wasn't arriving there too late. The blond was so terrinly afraid off what would happen, if the killer got to Gale first, she couldn't think straight.
The drive wasn't even that long because they had the police sirens on, but if felt like forever. Sam had already ordered an ambulance to the address, in case they were too late.
As soon as the three had arrived they jumped out of the car. Lizzie was at the front, hurrying towards the elevator. They drove up and after the doors had opened, she stormed through the unlocked door of the apartment.
When the blond entred the living room, she immediately spotted Ghostface, who was hovering over her heavily bleeding Godmother, trying to stab her into the face.
Lizzie could hear how Gale was struggling against him, so she immediately grabbed the gun, she spotted on the floor and started shooting at him, "You Motherfucker!"
The bullet grazed Ghostfaces arm, making him let go of Gale immediately before he stormed out of the apartment, and down the emergency exit.
Lizzie immediately let go of the gun, throwing it away, "Gale!" She quickly hurried over to the injured woman, joined by the other's.
Sam gave the woman an apologizing look, "I'm sorry- I'm so sorry. I should've know that he was gonna come after you. I'm so sorry."
Lizzie took the woman's bloody hand into her own and pressed their hands against her chest, sobbing. "Stay with me, okay? Please - stay with me."
Gale gave her an exhausted smile while she whispered, "He didn't get me-" She squeezed the blonds hand. "-You're going to get through is. You're strong."
After that Gale's eyes slowly fell shut and the woman's breathing slowed down while her head slightly fell aside. "Gale!"
The blond was sobbing even more, her mascara smudged under her eyes while the tears rolled down her neck, "Gale! No!"
Suddenly the elevator opened and Lizzie heard someone say, "Out of the way!"
She felt several hands that were trying to pull her back from Gale, but the blond was struggling against them. She was still crying heavily, begging Gale to stay with her before Sam and Tara finally succeeded to pull her back. "You gotta move, Liz!
"Got a weak Puls- get the backboard. We need to move now", the paramedic stated while she checked the woman's pulse and nodded at her partner.
