"great, now i'm trending," derrielle sighs through her nose as she looks down at her phone continuously pulsating on the table. a buzzing sensation every ten seconds over a new notification or a text message from her close friends about what-the-fuck is going on.

she clicks on a link that her friend malaika sent her— her phone jumping into twitter and on the dimly-lit, cracked into a ga-billion pieces, screen are three hashtags trending in the united states:

Netflix screenwriter and ex-girlfriend of Cody Christian, posts semi-nude photo on Instagram and throwing the internet into a frenzy.

Drew Starkey
Rising Hollywood actor, best known for his role in The Hate U Give, in Netflix's new show Outer Banks that began shooting two weeks ago. Starkey inserts himself into a fan-speculated love triangle?? by defending Elle Johnson.

"fucking hell, my manager's gonna kill me," she curses, swiping down from the top of her screen to read the time and skim through the thousands of notifications. she hated when her phone is filled to the brim with unwanted clutter but she couldn't clean it now— later, for sure. she'll probably make it a game tonight.

madelyn has planned a beach night/bonfire type thing for the young cast and crew members as sort of a pre-party before all the grueling, emotional, and time consuming work they have to film in the following weeks to come. not only is elle invited but so is lilah pate, elaine siemek, and julia antonelli. they planned the party while she was busy...with her bath... skipping breakfast and everything. they, being: madelyn, rudy, and chase.

mads told her about it during lunch, she practically bursted through the writer's trailer door and tackled derrielle to the ground because of all the feedback she was seeing. both of the girls just couldn't get over cody's comment, but more particularly, madelyn got extremely giddy over drew's comment.

"he so likes you," she said, giggling at some comments fans were leaving. sometimes if she really saw one that was funny as fuck or so mean to cody that she liked it.

"who?" rielle asked, as if she didn't hear her.

"drew, silly!" madelyn stated, laughing into the air conditioning room before settling down her red bull. " i saw you last night, i thought you don't grind in public?"

"i was dancing," elle rolled her eyes, about to turn off her phone when her screen froze and switched over to her friend mars' beautiful photo displayed with their caller id.

"then you and i have very different definitions of dancing," madelyn shook her head, lowering her voice a bit as elle answered the facetime call.

"elle! you're not gonna believe this shit. did you see her post?!" mars yelled into the speaker, quickly acknowledging madelyn's presence.

"wait, what's happening now?" elle asks, groaning in frustration. "who's post?"

"check that skank's insta, right now."

"don't call her a skank," elle says, swiping out of facetime and into instagram.

"she knew about you guys and still fucked him anyways, i'm calling her whatever i want," mars sasses. "read her caption."

"no fucking way," elle laughs, showing madelyn instantly.

"can you believe her? the nerve?!" mars shouted through the other end of the phone call.

"i don't understand why she's shading me when her boyfriend is literally the one who— whatever, i really don't care," elle shrugged while madelyn and mars both stare at her in both amusement and confusion.

"but she's mocking you! you aren't going to respond?" mads urges, mars shaking their head in agreement.

"no, i'm unproblematic and i intend to remain that way," elle stated, thanking mars about her concern but shared her goodbyes and turned off her phone.

she turned to madelyn, her lips turning into a smug smirk and her eyes shining another mischievous shade.

"i'm so coming tonight."
