╰┈˚ · ° .   FINALS WERE OVER AND EVERYONE COULD BREATHE AGAIN. The past few days had been quite hard, heavily focused on studying that we had little time to do anything else but that. Paul and Jared were graduating, the rest of us had still a year to do—Layla two, Seth three—so we weren't really as happy as two two boys who were acting like they had just got out of jail, they had even made Emily bake them a cake.

I looked down at my phone concerned, Maddison wasn't answering any of our texts, we hadn't heard from her at all today.

"Now that school is over, we need a new patrolling schedule." Sam suddenly said, taking the attention of the room.

"Not today, let them have a night free of all of this." Emily looked at her boyfriend with a hand over her hip declaring, "No patrolling, no wolves and vampires, no supernatural."

"Hell yeah!" Jared cheered, "We could light a bonfire, we hadn't done that in too long." Basically he wanted to throw a party in Emily's backyard.

"Yes!" Seth stood up, excited about the prospect of the party.

"You are fifteen, you are not going anywhere." Leah was quick to push him back down on the chair.

"But that's not fair, Leah."

"I'm buying the alcohol." Amelia was already marching to the door as she said that.

"I don't even want to know how you are going to buy that." Emily chuckled, amusedly shaking her head at the girl. Only Emily was actually old enough to buy it, and even she, barely.

"Don't worry about it." The girl winked over her shoulder.

"Remember the gin this time." Paul called, still remembering all the time that Amelia's choice of alcohol was always vodka and lemon soda.

"Yes, yes, yes."Amelia disinterestedly replied. She was going to forget about it.

Before the girl could open the door herself, her twin did. Amelia stepped back in surprise at the sight of Jacob, but he just walked inside shouldering carelessly past her. Amelia caught my surprise and stumbled over, her shoulder slamming against the wall. "What the fuck is wrong with you!?" The girl yelled as the boy marched towards Sam.

"I'm taking Quil's shift tonight." He declared. It was almost unnoticeable, but he was shaking. His jaw was clenched hard, and his hands were closed in tight fists.

"There is no patrolling shift tonight." Sam told him, his eyes taking in every emotion displayed on the wolf's face. "And you are too angry to shift right now. What happened?"

"None of your business." Jacob spat out, already turning around to walk away.

Sam grabbed his shoulder, "Yes, it is when I have one of my wolves going around, potentially shifting and hurting someone."

"I said it's not your business." Jacob squared his shoulders taking a defensive stance ready to prowl.

Sam stood up, looking down at the boy from his height advantage. The alpha in him had clearly taken Jacob's words as a challenge.

Amelia was back on her seat, glaring at her brother while massaging her shoulder inconspicuously. "Are you okay?" I asked through the coven bond, even if she had tried to be subtle, I had noticed the movement.

"Fine." She gritted out.

"Leah?" We turned towards the girl when Layla had said her name.

Leah was staring at Amelia's shoulder, shaking and clenching her jaw.

"Shit." Embry pulled Layla away from the shifter—as she was sitting next to her—noticing the sign of phasing.

Leah snapped upright, eyes narrowed into slits as she glared at Jacob, her lips curled into a snarl.

Amelia looked frozen, staring at the girl with slightly parted lips. For the first time in my life, I saw her speechless.

"Uh, what is happening?" I heard Quil mumble under his breath to Jared who sat on his left.

It was the Imprint pull. As much as Leah didn't want the bond—or Amelia for her part—there was still a pull from the wolf inside of her that had chosen the witch as her mate. Jacob hadn't hurt Amelia consciously, it was more of a consequence of his actions, but it still made him the guilty one to the wolf's eyes.

"Go to her." I lightly pushed Amelia's arm with my own, "We can't have her phasing now when that is happening." That, meaning Jacob challenging Sam as the alpha if we didn't deescalate the situation.

"Why me? Do it yourself!" She shouted through a whisper.

"Amelia, go to her." I said not leaving her space to decline any further as I stood up. I met Kim's eyes, her understanding what I wanted to do quickly. She followed after me as we put ourselves between the two wolves who were still sizing each other.

"This is not the right time for this." I said as I carefully clasped my hand over Sam's wrist. "Let's just calm down, talk about what happened, and if you still want to do this, then so be it." I said the last part towards Jacob as Kim placed her hand over his arm.

Sam waited for Jacob to agree, which he did, spatting the word out. "Fine."

Kim and I waited a second more before releasing our holds on the shifters, who with the touch of a witch, had calmed down much quicker then normally would.

We all sat down, the air tense. Firstly Sam looked at Leah, taking in how she now sat next to Amelia still shaking, and with the younger girl's hand touching her forearm. Leah had calmed down enough to nod her head at Sam telling him that she was alright and not about to phase still. Then the Alpha turned towards Jacob, motioning with his head for him to talk.

Jacob scoffed, crossing his arm over his chest remaining silent for a beat before starting to speak, "Bella broke her hand."

"I'm sorry what?" I asked. That wasn't what I had expected to hear.

Apparently, once starting to talk, Jacob couldn't stop. "We were together, we spent all the afternoon together. We were good, she honestly looked like she was having fun, like she wanted to be with me. She was laughing and smiling." His eyes glazed over with something akin to devotion and love as he recalled those moments, "She always looks so gorgeous when she smiles."

What the hell does that even have to do with anything and Bella breaking her hand?

We were all silent as we listened to him. Confused by the sudden turn of the conversation, slightly annoyed that he was talking about Bella, again.

"So I kissed her."

What the fuck?

"You did what?" I asked, at the same time Amelia said: "Excuse me? You what?"

"Kissed her. I'm sure you both know what that is." he rolled his eyes like what he had said was something light and easy. "I kissed her and then she punched me. And broke her hand."

"You kissed Bella." Layla repeated slowly as if to really try to understand what he was saying. "Like on the lips?"

"Yes, Layla, on the lips, that is how you normally kiss someone." Jacob replied confused by her question.

"You didn't." I shook my head.

"Yes, I did." He looked at us weirdly, before sighing, relaxing on his chair, face turning sour, "I really thought she wanted me. She does." He corrected himself, "She does want me but it's that bloodsucker—"

"I'm sorry what the fuck is wrong with you?!" Kim snapped upright, face red with rage, "You kissed Bella. And not like she wanted to since she punched you."

Like a catalyst, one after the other, us witches stood up. The wolves were frozen and speechless.

"You have a fucking imprint?!" Amelia shouted in disbelief at the boy, "A romantic bond, type of imprint, and you kissed another girl?"

"The bond is wrong!" Jacob snapped venomously, "I love Bella, I'm in love with her! I should've imprinted on her!"

"You didn't, though." Layla couldn't even look at him without her face turning in disgust, "You imprinted on Maddison."

Maddison. "Shit, where the hell is she?" I asked the other girls, "Is she replying to you?"

They all shook their heads. Fire burned inside my chest, I had never felt so much rage before. Everything that I had read about imprints bond came to the front of my mind, "Show me your hands." I commanded with a warning tone.

"Calm down." Sam's voice rang through the air. No one was sitting anymore, I don't know if there was caution or tension, but even the wolves were looking at us as if we were about to start a fight with fire, earth, water and air.

Amelia didn't wait for her twin to do as said, she didn't listen to Sam. She Transmuted to Jacob's side, pushing him with her power so as to keep him locked on the chair and forcefully, she showed us his hands—hands that were shaking and not for anger—I was sure that even he had no idea that they were.

"What is wrong with you?" Jacob snarled, "What the fuck!"

It was only then that I found out how powerful a coven bond could be. When I felt like my insides were melting with how powerful my rage was.

The girls' eyes fell on me, awaiting my words as to what to do next. Covens didn't have hierarchy—not officially—there was no leader, no alpha, nothing, but usually the first witch to unlock her element was usually instinctually searched for direction in times where it was needed.

The witches looked at me now, and I didn't know if it was right or wrong, but instinct was brought forwards, and I wasn't thinking anymore when I caught the shakiness of Jacobs hands, the way he was sweating even if he was wearing nothing but shorts and sneakers, I was ready to act.

"Search it." I motioned to Kim to do it. The earth witch closed her eyes, a hand on Jacob's heart as she started to mumble the spell under her breath, and the rest of us awaited for her to speak ignoring the voices of the wolves that tried to understand what was happening.

"What are you searching for?" Sam grabbed my arm when I didn't reply, "Beatrice!"

He was suddenly shoved back with a push of air, "Coven business, stay out of it." Amelia said without an ounce of space to leave him to complain.

Kim suddenly gasped, her eyes turning cold, and the ground shook for a fraction of a second. "I found it."

"Find what?" Jared shouted, panicked, "What did you find? What is happening?"

"A soul infraction." I replied finally, "He betrayed the imprint bond–himself—when he kissed Bella, his soul tore because of it." I grinded my teeth together, now there was only one thing in my mind. Maddison. "Let's go." I said to the other girls through the coven bond. They nodded their heads understanding my train of thoughts, and as one, we turned towards the door.

"Where are you going now?"

We shut the door behind us without answering.
