The screen slowly lights up Elena sitting squished between Jeremy and her son. Her son.

With her daughter beside Jermey smiling at her uncle brightly. She could already tell Hope adored her uncle but Elena was still in disbelief.

She knew one day she wanted to be a Mom but when she met Stefan and found out what he was slowly that dream started to leave her.

But now she has met her kids and couldn't imagine a life without them. Even if they didn't exist.

But there were so many questions in her head. How did she and perhaps her future husband die? Who exactly was her future husband? How did they meet? What happened between her and Stefan?

So many questions that Elena didn't know the answer to but would eventually. Staring at the screen as it lights Elena felt eyes on her making her turn to her left to see Henry staring at her.

"Are you okay?" Elena asks softly as she lifts her fingers moving his hair out of his face without even thinking about it.

Henry smiles at her softly nodding his head at his Mom before laying his head on her shoulder breathing in her scent as his entire body feels at peace.

Elena looks down at him slowly before wrapping her arms around him pulling Henry closer to her as she runs her fingers through his hair not noticing the pair of eyes staring at her.

Klaus Mikaelson wanted to kill his future self. A doppelgänger out of everyone in the world.

He still didn't believe anything his supposed children were saying. Even if his "daughter" looked so similar to him. He still didn't believe it. He couldn't believe it. 

Looking at the screen it shows Elena sitting in her bay window in her bedroom with her diary in her hands.

"Dear diary, today will be different. It has to be. I will smile, and it will be believable. My smile will say "I'm fine, thank you." "Yes, I feel much better"," Elena's inner monologue says.

Elena sighed she already didn't like this but Hope looked at her Mom chuckling slightly. At least she knew where she got her need to push everything down from. Apart of her believed it was her from her father but nope it was her Mom.

"I will no longer be the sad little girl who lost her parents. I will start fresh, be someone new. It's the only way I'll make it through," Elena's inner monologue says as she stares at the mirror taking a deep breath before seeing the picture of her and her parents on her mirror.

With a shake of her head, Elena walks out of her bedroom and heads downstairs to the kitchen heading straight towards the fresh coffee pot.

"Toast. I can make toast," Jenna says as she stands at the fridge looking inside.

"It's all about the coffee, Aunt Jenna," Elena tells her as she pours her coffee into a mug.

"Is there coffee?" Jeremy questions as Elena goes to take her first sip but Jeremy steals her mug making her glare at him.

"You still do that," Hope informs her uncle who smirks at that making Elena glare at him. He always stole her coffee. She was about to fill one with salt and let him drink that instead.

"Your first day of school and I'm totally unprepared. Lunch money?" Jenna says as she holds up a few dollars while Elena fixes herself another mug of coffee.

"I'm good," Elena tells her as Jeremy shrugs taking the money from his aunt's hands.

"You never say no to free money," Jeremy tells his sister who shakes her head at him.

"Uncle Jer's right never say no to free money or when you have the opportunity to pull out someone's eyes," Henry says making Elena look at him wide-eyed as Henry shrugs.

"So true little one," Kol says nodding his head with a smirk on his face. He liked his nephew he reminded him of a mini him.

"Anything else? A number two pencil? What am I missing?" Jenna questions more herself than anyone.

"Don't you have a big presentation today?" Elena questions her aunt as she looks towards her.

"I'm meeting with my thesis advisor at...now. Crap!" Jenna exclaims after looking at her watch and then removing her hair from the clip it was in.

"Then go. We'll be fine," Elena tells her aunt who pauses but nods hurrying at the door once she leaves Elena looks at Jermey worriedly.

"You okay?" Elena questions him placing a hand on his shoulder as Jermey looks at her annoyed.

"Don't start," Jeremy tells her as he turns around and walks away making Elena sigh as she looks down before turning around and taking a deep breath. 

"Sorry Lena," Jeremy tells her wincing as Elena smiles at him laying her head on his shoulder.

"It's fine Jer," Elena tells him as Jeremy wraps an arm around her pulling Elena closer to him.

In Bonnie's car, Elena is in the passenger seat looking out the window as Bonnie drives the two to school.

"So Grams is telling me I'm psychic. Our ancestors were from Salem, witches and all that, I know, crazy, but she's going on and on about it, and I'm like, put this woman in a home already!" Bonnie says laughing slightly as they pass the crematory making Elena stare at it sadly. 

"I guess Grams was right," Bonnie says with a sad smile making Elena look at her guilty before getting up and wrapping her arms around her pulling Bonnie into her who smiles at her.

"I love Grams," Henry says smirking as Hope rolls her eyes at him.

"Every time she shows up it's because she needs to scream at you," Hope reminds her brother who shrugs at her. He still loved the older woman.

"But then I started thinking, I predicted Obama and I predicted Heath Ledger, and I still think Florida will break off and turn into little resort islands...," Bonnie says before looking towards Elena slightly noticing her spaced out.

"Elena! Back in the car," Bonnie tells her with a smile as Elena jerks looking towards her.

"I did it again, didn't I? I--I'm sorry, Bonnie. You were telling me that...," Elena says looking at her best friend apologetically.

"That I'm psychic now," Bonnie says making Elena look at her amused.

"Right. Okay, then predict something. About me," Elena tells Bonnie who looks at her slightly.

"I see...," Bonnie begins to say before suddenly a crow hits their car making Bonnie slam on the brakes.

"Apparently not that," Kol says smirking making Henry laugh nodding his head as Stefan glares at his brother.

Bonnie glares at Kol as Elena chuckles over her hand. It wasn't funny at the moment but now it was.

"What was that?! Oh, my god! Elena, are you okay?" Bonnie questions panicky as Elena takes a deep breath.

"It's okay. I'm fine," Elena tells her in a shaky voice.

"It was like a bird or something. It came out of nowhere," Bonnie tells her looking Elena over.

"Really, I can't be freaked out by cars for the rest of my life," Elena tells Bonnie trying to calm her down as Bonnie looks at her closely.

"Says the one who literally walked everywhere that summer," Jeremy reminds Elena who glares at him as he smirks at her. He was proud of her truthfully.

After the accident, Elena wouldn't get in a car and had a panic attack every time she got in the shower or bath. Feeling like she was back in the car.

It took Jenna holding her hand in the bathroom for her to finally be able to shower. She has come a long way since then.

"I predict this year is going to be kick-ass. And I predict all the sad and dark times are over and you are going to be beyond happy," Bonnie tells Elena with a bright smile Elena nods at her before the two continue their way to the high school not noticing the
crow on top of the road sign.

"And I thought Stefan was creepy," Caroline says making Bonnie and Elena laugh as Stefan glares at Caroline.

"Just wait till Dad falls in love with her. Uncle Kol told us some stories," Hope tells her Aunt Caroline as Elijah stares at Klaus who is glaring at both Kol and Elena.

"Ooh, I can't wait," Kol says smirking at his brother.

Inside Mystic Falls High School Elena and Bonnie walk towards Bonnie's locker gossiping.

"Major lack of male real estate. Look at the shower curtain on Kelly Beech. She looks like a hot — can I still say "tranny mess"?" Bonnie questions as Elena leans against the lockers.

"No, that's over," Elena tells her.

"Ahh, find a man, coin a phrase. It's a busy year," Bonnie says as Elena smiles at her slightly.

"See how she said man Lena not men," Caroline says teasingly as Elena rolls her eyes at her but Bonnie chuckles slightly.

Elena looks behind her and sees her ex-boyfriend Matt and waves to him, but ignores her.

"Ouch," Kol says with a smirk on his face before looking at Elena.

"Guessing you dumped him?" Kol questions as Elena nods making Kol chuckle.

"It was the right thing," Elena defends as Kol just laughs harder.

"What is it about doppelgängers that pull men in and get them all twisted?" Kol questions as Katherine and Elena both glare at him.

"I'm nothing like her," Elena and Katherine say at the same time before glaring at each other.

"That was creepy," Caroline whispers to Bonnie who nods agreeing with her.

"He hates me," Elena says sighing and looking at Bonnie who looks over at Matt and then back at Elena.

"That's not hate. That's "you dumped me, but I'm too cool to show it, but secretly I'm listening to Air Supply's greatest hits"," Bonnie tells Elena who smiles at that.

"Not it's actually "you dumped and I'm still completely in love with you," Caroline corrects Bonnie who nods as Elena glares at both of them.

"It's true," Bonnie agrees making Elena laugh at them.

Caroline then begins to approach the two.
"Elena. Oh, my god," Caroline exclaims as she wraps her arms around Elena.

Caroline cringes slightly at her human self.
"Still can't believe I used to act like that," Caroline says staring as Elena and Bonnie look at her.

"You still do at times," Bonnie tells her making Caroline glare at her.

"But we love you regardless," Elena tells Caroline who smiles at that.

"You were just a bit...much," Elena says hesitantly staring at Caroline who shrugs.

"Fair," Caroline tells her the three not noticing the longing looks being sent to them.

"They don't act any different," Hope tells Henry who hasn't stopped pouting since his Mom left him.

"Yeah, they still steal my Mom from me. At least the evil twin witches of the west haven't appeared yet," Henry tells his twin sister who laughs shaking her head.

"Just wait till you know who steals her," Hope says making Henry glare at her angrily. 

"Who?" Jeremy questions looking between his niece and nephew who both just realized he was still between them.

"No one," Hope and Henry say quickly making Jeremy look between them before laughing slightly.

"You both have your Mom's guilty and avoidance looks," Jeremy says making the twins smile happily.

"How are you? Oh, it's so good to see you," Caroline exclaims before looking towards Bonnie.

"How is she? Is she good?" Caroline questions Bonnie worriedly.

"Caroline, I'm right here. And I'm fine. Thank you," Elena tells her with a tight smile as Caroline looks at her doubtful.

Caroline suddenly slaps Elena's arm who looks at her.

"Ouch!" Elena exclaims making Caroline huff.

"I'm fine. Thank you?!" Caroline exclaims making Elena sigh.

"I didn't want you to worry," Elena tells her making Bonnie slap her arm this time. 

"Okay! Stop hitting me," Elena tells the two making them share a look before they both slap an arm.

Elena glares before slapping them both on the arm making them exclaim as they rub their arms.

"You three act like children," Jenna says amused while the three shrug.

"Really?" Caroline questions her doubtfully.
"Yes. Much better," Elena tells her nodding her head.

Caroline glares at her as she slaps Elena once again.

"Alright! I'm moving so I'll stop getting assaulted!" Elena exclaims heading towards her brother to sit beside him.

Jeremy laughs as Henry smirks brightly pulling Elena to sit beside him. 

"Oh, you poor thing," Caroline says as she hugs her again.

"Okay, Caroline," Elena says tapping Caroline's arm to let her go.

"Oh! Okay, see you guys later?" Caroline says smiling brightly as she walks away.

"OK! Bye!" Bonnie says waving at Caroline as Elena smiles shaking her head.

"Let's go," Elena tells Bonnie who nods as the two begin walking down the hallway.

The two girls walk down the halls until Bonnie notices something.

"Hold up. Who's this?" Bonnie questions making Elena look to see someone

"All I see is back," Elena tells her.

"It's a hot back," Bonnie tells her making Elena look at her and laughs.

"Thank you, Bonnie," Stefan tells the Bennett witch who rolls her eyes at him.

"I'm sensing Seattle, and he plays the guitar," Bonnie says making Elena shake her head laughing harder.

"I don't play guitar but I did spend a few years in Seattle. It's a bit too rainy for me," Stefan says making Elena smile at him shaking her head.

"You're really going to run this whole psychic thing into the ground, huh?" Elena questions amused.

"Pretty much," Bonnie tells Elena nodding her head.

"Jeremy, good batch, man," a random student says making Elena turn to see her brother walking into the boy's bathroom.

Jeremy cringes slightly as Elena and Jenna glare at him angrily.

"You know I remember when Mom found out I tried some truth weed. I was grounded for a month," Henry says sighing as Jeremy nods knowing his pain.

"Killjoy," Kol says to Elena who scoffs at him.
"But Henrik that wasn't a good idea. Too many secrets get revealed using truth weed," Kol says speaking from experience.

"Actually I didn't get grounded for the weed it was for revealing something on the weed," Henry informs as Hope laughs at him.

"I'll be right back," Elena says angrily as she storms towards the boy's bathroom.

"Please be hot," Bonnie begs just as Elena enters the boy's bathroom. 

"Well?" Stefan questions making Bonnie shrug.

"Could be better," Bonnie tells Stefan making Elena and Caroline laugh. 

"Elena you do realize that is a boy's bathroom correct?" Jenna questions her niece who nods her head at that.

"Just making sure," Jenna says shaking her head.

"Whoa! Pants down, chick!" A boy at the urinal says pulling his pants up but Elena doesn't even look at him as she storms up to Jeremy and grabs his face, looking into his eyes to see if he's high.

"Great. It's the first day of school and you're stoned," Elena says angrily staring at her brother worriedly.

"No, I'm not," Jeremy says jerking his head away from her.

"Where is it? Is it on you?" Elena questions her brother as she begins to pat him down.

"Stop, all right?! You need to chill yourself, all right?!" Jeremy exclaims angrily making Elena scoff at him.

"Chill myself? What is that, stoner talk? Dude, you are so cool," Elena says sarcasm leaking from her voice.

"Look, stop! I don't have anything on me. Are you crazy?" Jeremy questions his sister who looks at him.

All the men in the theater room wince at that knowing Jeremy just made a mistake saying that.

"You haven't seen crazy, Jeremy!" Elena exclaims at her brother as she looks at him.

"I gave you a summer pass, but I am done watching you destroy yourself," Elena says as Jeremy looks away from her.

"No, no, no, you know what? Go ahead. Keep it up. But just know that I am going to be there to ruin your buzz every time, you got it?" Elena questions him but Jeremy still doesn't look at her.

"Jeremy, I know who you are. And it's not this person. So don't be this person," Elena begs as Jeremy shakes his head.

"I don't need this," Jeremy tells his sister before he leaves the bathroom leaving Elena who leans against the counter taking a deep breath.

"I'm sorry," Elena and Jeremy tell each other making Elena and Jeremy look confused at each other.

"No, I'm sorry. I should have tried to help you better. I should have been there for you instead of leaving you too Jenna," Elena tells her brother apologetically.

"No, I'm sorry. You were grieving and I just added more stress to both you and Jenna. I should have explained how I was feeling instead of just trying drugs," Jeremy says making Elena lean her head on her shoulder.

"I love you," Elena tells her brother making Jermey kiss the top of her head. 

"I love you too," Jeremy responds the two not realizing everyone is watching them, especially a blonde original who looks between her brothers wishing they had a relationship like that.

Outside the school office, Bonnie continues watching Stefan.

"Thank you," Stefan tells the secretary.
"You're welcome," the woman tells him as Stefan begins walking towards the boy's bathroom.

Elena sighs as goes to lean the boy's bathroom but when she leaves she bumps into Stefan.

"Uh, pardon me. Um...is this the men's room?" Stefan questions looking at the boy's restroom making Elena blush.

"Yes. Um, I was just, Um—I was just—It's a long story....," Elena finally just says as she tries to pass, but Stefan keeps blocking her without even trying making Elena laugh as Stefan smiles before making way for her.

"Thank you," Elena tells him as she rounds the corner leaving but looks back to see Stefan still staring at her.

"And the doppelgänger curse begins," Hope whispers slightly as Henry nods agreeing with her.

In the history class, Tanner talks as Elena sits at her desk looking at the teacher but Stefan looks over at her every few seconds.

"Once our home state of Virginia joined the confederacy in 1861, it created a tremendous amount of tension within the state. People in Virginia's northwest region had different ideals than those from the traditional deep south. Then Virginia divided in 1863 with the northwest region joining the union," Tanner says as Elena and Stefan exchange looks.

"HAWT-E. STARING @ U," Bonnie says texting Elena making her look at Stefan only to see him staring at her making her smile before she looks back to the front not realizing Matt was watching the whole time.

"Dude move on. It's getting pathetic," Kai states throwing popcorn at the screen as Kol nods his head agreeing.

Later on in the day after school, Elena walks into the cemetery heading straight to her parent's graves and sitting down across from them. Then grabs her diary out of her bag and begins writing in her diary.

"Dear diary, I made it through the day. I must have said, "I'm fine, thanks," at least thirty-seven times. And I didn't mean it once. But no one noticed. When someone asks, "How are you?" They really don't want an answer.

Caroline looks at Elena slapping her arm again as the brunette winces glaring at her best friend.

"Caroline Elizabeth Forbes if you do not stop I will tell Liz exactly what happened to her favorite lamp and how it actually broke," Elena tells Caroline who gasps looking at Elena betrayed.

"We pinky swore never to mention it!" Caroline exclaims as Elena shrugs trying not to smile as Caroline pouts muttering something about the biggest betrayal in history of betrayals and that this goes over the line of Allie's mom hiding Noah's letters.

"This is creepy Elise," Kai states as Elena glares at him.

"Not my name Kip," Elena says making Kai smirk at her happily as Hope and Henry chuckle used to this.

Suddenly a crow appears and lands right on Elena's parent's grave stone staring right at her.

Elena glares at the screen before rolling her eyes at Damon's dramatics.

"Okay. Hi, bird. That's not creepy or anything. Shoo!" Elena says waving at the bird making the bird fly off.

"That's what I thought," Elena says sighing she turns around only to jump seeing the crow back, and then fog starts to ascend around the cemetery.

Elena looks around confused before spotting a man standing behind a tomb making the brunette begin to Elena to run.

"That is stalker vibes! Creeper!" Caroline exclaims throwing popcorn at Damon who glares at her angrily while Caroline shrugs.

"Ahh!" Elena screams as she trips and falls.

"Not surprising. You are very accident prone Mom," Hope states as Elena huffs at that but Caroline, Jeremy, Bonnie, and Jenna nod agreeing with that.

"She is. I remember when you were younger Mom kept bumping into the side of her bed always getting angry and hurt. Then one day we came home and Dad got Mom an entire new bed frame. One that she wouldn't get hurt if she bumped into it," Henry says with a small tiny smile on his face before crossing his arms across his chest and staring at the screen.

"That is so adorable!" Caroline exclaims with a hand over her chest as Elena takes a small look at Klaus before looking back at the screen not saying anything.

Klaus stares slightly at his son who looks at him with a glare on his face before rolling his eyes. Although checking to make his Mom didn't see it.

One thing Elena Gilbert's future Mikaelson made sure her children knew was that you should be respectful. Even if you don't like someone still don't be rude. Indeed, some people don't deserve your respect but that doesn't mean you won't show it.

Until they show their true colors. Then do not respect them at all. Tear their heart out and feed it to them. And if you do not track blood in the house. 

Getting up off the ground Elena looks behind her only to jump when she sees Stefan.

"You okay?" Stefan asks worriedly as Elena looks at him still breathing a bit panicky.

"Were you following me?" Elena questions looking behind her slightly still slightly paranoid.

"Probably," Caroline states nodding her head as Stefan glares at the blonde but doesn't deny it.

"No, I-a, uh, I-a just — I saw you fall," Stefan tells her as Elena looks at him.

"You are a terrible liar," Jenna states glaring at the vampire who gulps slightly.

"Uh-huh, and you just happened to be hanging out in a cemetery," Elena states nodding her head.

"To be fair so are you," Jeremy states pointing to his sister.

"I'm visiting. I have family here," Stefan tells Elena who opens and closes her mouth before wincing slightly.

"Oh. Wow. Tactless. I'm sorry. It's the fog, It's making me foggy. And then back there, there was this - this bird and it was all very Hitchcock for a second. That is the bird movie, right, the Hitchcock?... I'm Elena," Elena rambles before smiling slightly.

"I'm Stefan," Stefan introduces himself.
"I know. We have History together," Elena says softly.

"And English and French," Stefan adds making Elena smile even brighter at that.

"Is it me or is that creepy?" Kol questions tilting his head slightly at the screen.

"Right," Elena says as Stefan pulls a leaf out of Elena's hair.

"Thanks...Nice ring," Elena says looking down at the lapis lazuli gemstone ring on his finger.

"Oh. Um, It's a family ring, yeah. I'm kinda stuck with it. It's weird, huh?" Stefan questions as he flexes his hand.

"No, no. It's just, I mean, there are rings and then there's that," Elena adds as Stefan looks at her and then tense ever so lightly.

"Did you hurt yourself?" Stefan questions making Elena hum confusedly.

"Did you hurt yourself?" Stefan questions the girl again who snaps out of her head.

"Oh, uh, I don't know," Elena says as she pulls up her pant leg and sees a cut gushing blood.

"Oh! Would you look at that? That is not pretty," Elena says as Stefan turns around and his face changes into his vampire face.

"Are you okay?" Elena questions questions as Stefan's eyes start to change.

"You should go. Take care of that," Stefan grunts out.
"Really, it's nothing," Elena states as she turns around but Stefan has disappeared making the girl confused.

"That was....," Caroline trails off before busting out laughing making Bonnie and Elena laugh with her.

At the Gilbert Residence Elena walks around the corner with her jacket over her arm.

"I'm meeting Bonnie and Care at the grill," Elena informs Jenna who looks at her niece nodding.

"Okay, have fun. Wait, I got this. Don't stay out late, it's a school night," Jenna says trying to embrace the new parent role making Elena chuckle.

"Well done, Aunt Jenna," Elena says before she opens the front door.

"Oh," Elena says surprised to see Stefan standing at her front door about to knock.

"Sorry, I was about to knock. I wanted to apologize for my disappearing act earlier. I know it was...strange," Stefan says making Elena smile softly at him.

"No worries. I get it, blood makes you squeamish," Elena says shrugging her shoulders as Stefan looks at her.

"Yeah squeamish," Henry says rolling his eyes wondering why he agreed to do this having to watch his Mom fall in love with idiots. 

"Um, something like that. How's your leg?" Stefan questions looking down at the injured leg slightly.

"Oh, it's fine. Just a scratch, barely. How did you know where I lived?" Elena finally questions realizing that he was actually here and she never told him where she lived.

"Very important question," Caroline states nodding her head.

"Stef you are looking more and more like a creep by the second," Damon tells his brother patting his shoulder while Stefan glares at him.

"You can't say anything to me, Damon," Stefan tells his brother with a pointed look as Damon rolls his eyes.

"Elise you have terrible taste in men. It's sort of concerning regarding your mental health," Kai informs the girl as Hope and Henry just stare at him.

"Your mental health is the most cornering in this entire room. And the Mikaelson's are here," Hope says as her family looks at her and then Kai.

"Thank you," Kai tells Hope who sighs at him shaking her head as Henry chuckles at his older sister.

"It's a small town. I asked the first person I saw. Um, I thought you might want this back," Stefan says as he pulls out Elena's diary and then hands her diary to her.

"Oh, I must have dropped it. I--thank you," Elena says grabbing the diary with a worried look on her face.

"Don't worry, I didn't...read it," Stefan says making Elena look at him surprised.

"No? Why not? Most people would have," Elena questions as Stefan stares at her.

"Well, I wouldn't want anyone to read mine," Stefan tells her making Elena look at him surprised.

"You keep a journal?" Elena questions Stefan who nods.

"Yeah, if I don't write it down, I forget it. Memories are too important," Stefan tells her making Elena smile at him.

"Ugh! This is boring! I need some action! I need some blood! Ooh, I need some me!" Kol exclaims rolling his eyes as Klaus rolls his eyes at him.

"I could put a dagger in you. You will no longer be bored after that," Klaus tells his younger brother with a smirk on his making Kol glare at him.

"Don't worry Uncle Kol in the future Mom destroys all the daggers," Henry tells his favorite uncle making Rebekah and Kol look at Elena wide-eyed as Klaus glares at her.

"Ooh, I'm loving my future sister-in-law. She has our puppy of a brother wrapped around her pinky," Kol says laughing while Klaus glares angrily.

"Yeah. I'm just gonna...umm, you don't have to stay out there," Elena says as she places her diary somewhere secured Stefan tries to enter but he can't.

"I'm fine. Sorry, were you going somewhere?" Stefan questions Elena seeing her keys in her hands along with her jacket on her arm.

"Yeah, I'm meeting a friend. Do you want to come?" Elena asks Stefan smiling making Stefan smile back at her.

At the Mystic Grill Bonnie sits at a table drinking Coke with Matt beside her.

"How's Elena doing?" Matt questions Bonnie who looks at him.

"Her mom and dad died. What do you think? She's putting on a good face, but it's only been four months," Bonnie tells Matt who looks at her.

"Has she said anything about me?" Matt questions Bonnie who just stares at him.

"Did he really just-? Is he stupid?!" Caroline exclaims already done with the idiot on the screen as anger pours out of her.

"The curse of the doppelgänger. Somehow makes all men idiots," Rebekah states rolling her eyes.

"Oh, no. So not getting in the middle. You pick up the phone and call her," Bonnie tells Matt who sighs at her.

"I feel weird calling her. She broke up with me," Matt states making Bonnie shake her head.

"Give it more time, Matt," Bonnie tells the boy just as
Elena enters with Stefan.

Kai and Kol burst out laughing loudly as Elena winces slightly.

"More time, huh?" Matt questions as he stands up walking over to Elena and Stefan.

"Hey, I'm Matt, nice to meet you," Matt introduces as he shakes Stefan's hand.

"Hi. Stefan," Stefan says as Matt looks towards Elena who smiles slightly but is still tense.

"Hey," Elena says to Matt making him smile.
"Hey," Matt says back to the brunette. The first words to her after Elena broke up with him.

"So, you were born in Mystic Falls?" Caroline questions Stefan as the boy sits at one of the tables at the Grill with Bonnie Elena and Caroline sitting with him.

"Every man's dream. Surrounded by beautiful women," Kol says winning at the three girls who roll their eyes at him simultaneously.

"Mm-Hmm. And moved when I was still young," Stefan tells the three with a soft smile on his face.

"Parents?" Bonnie questions staring at the boy.
"My parents passed away," Stefan says making Elena look at him sadly.

"I'm sorry. Any siblings?" Elena questions softly as Stefan smiles slightly at her.

"None that I talk to. I live with my uncle," Stefan says never denying having a sibling.

"Ouch little brother," Damon says making Stefan just give him a deadpan look.

"Says from the brother that promised his baby brother an eternity full of misery," Stefan says making Damon pause before nodding slightly.

"And I thought we had issues," Kol says rolling his eyes as Klaus looks at him.

"We do," Klaus says making Kol glares at him.

"I'm so happy I'm an only child," Caroline says sighing as Bonnie nods making Elena and Jeremy glare at the two.

"So, Stefan, if you're new, then you don't know about the party tomorrow," Caroline tells the boy who looks confused.

"It's a back-to-school thing at the falls," Bonnie continues as Stefan looks towards Elena.

"Are you going?" Stefan questions Elena who goes to say no but Bonnie interrupts.

"Of course she is," Bonnie says making Elena blush as she smiles making Stefan smile back at her.

"This is disgusting," Kai says gagging as Henry nods agreeing with him.

The next day at Mystic Falls High School in history class Tanner stands in front of the class "teaching".

"The Battle of Willow Creek took place right at the end of the war in our very own Mystic Falls. How many casualties resulted in this battle?" Tanner questions before locking eyes on Bonnie.

"Ms. Bennett?" Tanner questions making Bonnie look up at him.

"Um...a lot? I'm not sure. Like a whole lot," Bonnie says making everyone chuckle as Tanner glares at her.

"Cute becomes dumb in an instant, Ms. Bennett," Tanner tells the girl making Bonnie look embarrassed.

"Did he really just say that?" Jenna questions in disbelief as Caroline Elena and Bonnie nod.

"Mr. Donovan? Would you like to take this opportunity to overcome your embedded jock stereotype?" Tanner asks Matt.

"It's okay, Mr. Tanner, I'm cool with it," Matt says as more chuckles are heard making Tanner look around the room.

"Hmm. Ms. Elena Gilbert? Surely you can enlighten us about one of the town's most significant historical events?" Tanner questions making Elena look up at the man.

"I'm sorry, I--I don't know," Elena says embarrassed making Tanner glares at her.

"Why is he glaring at Elena? No one knew," Jenna asks confused as the students shrug.

"That's Tanner," Caroline informs Jenna who shakes her head.

"I was willing to be lenient last year for obvious reasons, Elena. But the personal excuses ended with summer break," Tanner says making Elena's entire body deflate as memories returned to her head.

"He did not just say that!" Liz yells as Jenna glares at the screen wishing she could jump through and punch him.

"If he wasn't dead he would be," Jenna says nodding her head angrily.

"There were 346 casualties. Unless you're counting local civilians," Stefan says making Tanner turn his attention away from Elena to Stefan.

"That's correct. Mister...?" Tanner questions trailing off as Stefan looks at him.

"Salvatore," Stefan informs the man who nods.
"Salvatore. Any relation to the original settlers here at Mystic Falls?" Tanner questions the boy who stares at him.

"Distant," Stefan tells him making Tanner nod his head.

Damon snorts at that making Stefan glare at him.

"Well, very good. Except, of course, there were no civilian casualties in this battle," Tanner says making Stefan look at him confused.

"Actually, there were 27, sir. Confederate soldiers, fired on the church, believing it to be housing weapons. They were wrong. It was a night of great loss. The founder's archives are, uh, stored in the city hall if you'd like to brush up on your facts, Mr. Tanner," Stefan says making Tanner glare at him as everyone smirks.

"Hmm," Tanner says as he turns back to the front to teach something.

"Of course, you know that. You lived through it," Henry says rolling his eyes as he eats some food while Hope sighs at her brother.

"Is there any way you can get the oversized stick out of your ass?" Hope questions her brother who smirks at her.

"Nah I'm good. Thanks for asking though," Henry tells her as he wraps an arm around his older sister's shoulders who glares at him.

"Why couldn't you two stop after one kid?" Hope questions her parents who stare at her as Kol and Jeremy burst out laughing.

"Because they needed a more amazing kid. You were average at best," Henry tells Hope who mutters a spell under her breath making Henry scream as he holds his arm to his chest.

"You just electrocuted me!" Henry screams as Hope shrugs.

"Should have thought about your words before you spoke them," Hope tells him as Henry huffs crossing his arms done with his sister.

"Yep. He's Niks," Rebekah says nodding her head and making Henry and Klaus glare at her. The same exact glare.

"No that's Nik," Kol corrects laughing loudly.
