THERE'S ALWAYS GONNA BE THOSE BIG QUESTIONS

Like how did they go forth with the plan of getting their Magnolia back? Then also having her mother, Evangeline Taurus, still her mother so she can come back the same as she did before?

Especially, with the clear feelings spiraling between Remus Lupin and Sirius Black?

Because despite everything  despite how much this could affect the future... Remus wanted nothing more than to fold himself in Sirius's arms in times of distress.

For the man he loved to tell that everything was going to be okay  the way he had so many times before. Before he knew he had a daughter, before it all... He knows in his heart that wanting Sirius for comfort means more now than at any other time before.

He couldn't help but love Sirius more than anything in the world  and in a much different way than his best mates, Peter and James. The simple fact was this: As much as Remus tried to ignore or push away the feeling for the Black, Remus still loved Sirius. And it was because he didn't know how not to love him.

How not to miss his touch.

No matter how much his insides riled against it he wanted nothing more than to be in his arms and have Magnolia in his life.

Even though Magnolia has countlessly told them "it's okay" to pursue their feelings, Remus and Sirius feel like they are betraying her in a way. They loved the girl to death and would be heartbroken to not have her back in their arms. But that was until Lily got a letter. From Evangeline Taurus — the beautiful Veela, best friend, and Magnolia Lupin's future mother.

"This is so weird. I mean  this has to mean something, right?" Lily wonders, sitting at the small two-person table as the marauders surround the small table.

"What do you mean?" Remus asks, furrowing his eyebrows as Lily shrugs.

"Like, you and Evangeline only just met at my wedding  never before that day and then... Had Magnolia, right?"

They were currently sitting in a small muggle coffee shop. It was summer, no Hogwarts until September for their seventh year. Lily had gotten an urgent letter from Evangeline about something important that she needed to discuss. And being Lily — she overthinks thinking that things are possibly changing in hopefully... More useful ways.

And when she had gotten the letter from Evangeline, the boys  including Regulus were visiting her for a bit with Marlene and Alice in her hometown.

Marlene found out about everything with Magnolia and Harry. Sirius told her after realizing she had no clue why Magnolia and Harry left  so one drunken night... He told her everything that happened. To say she was a little surprised was an understatement. But everything made sense when she had calmed down from all the information.

"Well, that's what Maggie told me" The bell to the front chimed, Lily immediately noticed it was Evangeline Taurus and quickly shooed the boys away somewhere else. They all scrambled to the booth, closest to Lily who greeted Evangeline with a hug before the girls sat at the small table together.

"Bloody hell, Evans wasn't kidding when she said Magnolia was a perfect mix between you and Evangeline," Sirius mutters, sitting between James and Remus.

"It's weird... Seeing her for the first time, you know?" Peter whispers, making the others nod before trying to listen in on the girl's conversation.

"I'm sorry for answering your letter so late, I'm having company at my house for a little while  You should really meet them, they'd love to meet you."

"Who's staying with you?" Evangeline asks, tilting her head to the side wonderingly, trying to hide her obvious nervousness by playing with her hands.

"Oh I've told you about Sirius, Peter, Remus, James  oh, and Sirius's brother, Regulus"

"I'm still very confused about how you started dating this James guy. For most of the time, you were talking a whole bunch of shit about him." Evangeline laughed, taking a sip of her tea making Lily roll her eyes and James scoff from his spot where he sat.

"Don't be surprised, Prongs — you are a pretty piece of shit." Regulus murmurs, making Sirius and Remus let out a snort.

"Yeah, yeah whatever. We don't need to talk about my love life. Now tell me what you want to discuss." Lily quickly blew it off, immediately making Evangeline grow nervous again. Lily went for her tea and raised it to take a sip.

"I'm gay" That's when Lily's eyes bulged and spit out all the tea that was in her mouth and back into her cup.

Out of the surprise of her response, Peter accidentally dropped his hand and slammed his head on the table. While Remus choked on his spit, turning into a coughing fit while Sirius and Regulus' jaws dropped. With James covering his eyes partly with his jaw dropped, all of them no longer hearing fin on their conversation too shocked and suddenly finding this moment too personal to be listening in on.

"Holy shit" Remus coughed, hitting his chest over and over to stop his coughing. He finally composed himself as Lily forced a smile towards Evangeline.

"Well, not 100% gay  I mean, I like a certain category of men but woman, man... There just  Woah." Evangeline laughed nervously, making Lily smile and nod.

"I'm really happy you told me, thank you for telling me!" Lily cooed, immediately making the Veela smile happily in relief.

"I was so scared to tell you. I don't know why, you are literally the best friend anyone could ask for."

"Evangeline, I do have to tell you something..." Lily mustered, pursing her lips in thought as the boys all paled in wonder at what she's gonna say. James slyly walks out of the booth and tries to seem like he was just entering.

"Hey... What's wrong?"

"During our last year"

"Lilyflower!" James exclaims, coming up behind her, making her and Evangeline jump slightly.

"Lilyflower?" Evangeline asks with a smirk as Lily glares at her teasing.

"James, what are you doing here?"

"Oh I was just hanging out with the boys, they said to meet here after I got ready at your house" He tells her, glancing towards the boys who were smiling as Evangeline eyes them before looking back at Lily.

"Oh um — James, this is my best friend, Evangeline, she goes to Beauxbatons and Evangeline, this is James... My boyfriend." Evangeline eyes him with those familiar set of grayish blue pale eyes that James and Lily know too well before getting up.

"Just to make sure you know your place with me and you with Lily  I'll always be at her wedding... With or without you." Evangeline smirks as James couldn't help but feel chills down his spine. The same feeling that went threw him when Magnolia found out he ate her last chocolate.

~~~
Nobody knew what to do after Remus got to meet Evangeline since Lily introduced all the boys to her. They didn't know if this was supposed to happen or not. And they were freaking out.
But Remus did feel a sort of connection with Evangeline. She felt it too — her eyes lingering on him a little longer than the rest.
But then during the whole summer, they've all gotten close to Evangeline. Maybe because it was like Magnolia was there  with Remus's sarcastic remarks and resting bitch face and Evangeline's dramatic antics and similar color features. Even Harry  just looking at James, they saw Harry so much, and then Lily's eyes, of course. All their features made them think of the two. And for a brief moment, they didn't think about what they were gonna do in their chaotic wonders for the future of their children.
"Hey, Remus?" Evangeline whispers, making him jump slightly as she enters the kitchen, catching the werewolf late-night snacking.
"Oh hey, Taurus — couldn't sleep, either?" He asks with a small laugh as she nods. She looks at him with a small smirk and eyes him oddly.
"I have a question." He turned his full attention to her, leaning his back on the counter while she sat on the island counter in her pajamas like him.
"What's up?" He asks, only making her smirk intensify.
"Do you like Sirius?" And like once again  he choked on his spit in surprise and had a coughing fit.
"Oh Merlin, you do!" She teased, making his face flame, and quickly shook his head.
"No  no I don't!"
"Oh my god, yes you do! I knew my gaydar worked!" She exclaims, immediately making him shush her since it was around 2 AM in the Evans's houses.
He went silent, turning back around to lean on his forearms on the counter. He let out a sigh, letting his head hang as she pursed her lips. She looked around before catching sight of Lily's photo book on the dining table. It was silent for a while — a tense silence. Neither enjoyed it and Evangeline eyes the photo book with a sigh because she knows exactly what he has to be thinking.
She looks over his lanky slouched figure and chuckles softly, shaking her head. She looked at his thick blue socks, his gray plaid pajama bottoms, his brown Weasley knitted sweater, and his side profile. His faded scars made his hazel brown eyes stick out more and more colorful under the faded kitchen light. His light brown hair was a mess after running his hand through several times a day. Unknowingly to him, she was trying to picture what Magnolia Hope Lupin looked like between herself and the werewolf in the poorly lit kitchen.
"You know Lily told me." She murmurs, making Remus furrow his eyebrows and turn back around to face her.
He watched as she still sat on the island counter and was now looking through Lily's photo book. She flipped through a few pages and then stopped, tracing a picture. He carefully inspected Evangeline as she softly smiled at the picture she was looking at. He crept up beside her and looked at the picture she was looking at.
It was a muggle picture of Harry and Magnolia cuddling on the Gryffindor common room couch with the boys. Maggie was sitting on Harry's lap, sleeping with her knees pulled against her front and her head lying on his chest. He was smiling towards the camera with James standing behind him with the same grin. Sirius was sitting beside them on the couch, reaching over and tickling Maggie's nose with her hair, her face slightly furrowed in her sleep. Remus was sitting beside Sirius, his arm around him with Peter sitting in front of the two on the floor, both with smiles.
"I've always wanted to have a kid and spoil it to death but never the parenting part, you know? Having a mini-me sounds awesome and everything but I want to go out and explore the world..." Remus forced a smile at her as she placed her hand on her cheek in thought.
"Like being the cool auntie or something sounded cool, I never found it exciting to take care of a kid... It was just never appealing to me." She musters with a sigh, making Remus look down as she finally looks at him.
"But Lily told me everything that happened to you guys last year with Magnolia and Harry — who is Lily and James son—"
"I know it's still weird to think about." Remus laughs, making Evangeline join him.
"I still can't believe they're dating." She snorts, shaking her head, and finishes with a sigh.
"She hated him." She says, making Remus shrug, shaking his head. "No, she didn't — She always had a soft spot for James."
Evangeline stared at Remus with a soft smile, tilting her head. He was staring at the picture with a grin before chuckling and shaking his head softly from beside her.
"I wish I could have gone to Hogwarts with you guys before — You're a fun group." He smiles at her as she stares into his eyes with her blue ones. "I know... We were gonna have a thing in the future... But I don't think that's happening with my sudden awakening and your obvious gayness with Sirius—"
"Okay, I don't know that obvious gayness would be a way to describe it." He scoffs, making her giggle, leaning her head back.
"What? It's gay and obvious, I think that's a pretty good way to describe it." She starts with a smirk, making him force a smile before he suddenly goes into deep thought. He rubs his chin, biting down on his bottom lip hard.
"But I know how much Magnolia means to you and I wish I could have met her to know how that feels... But..."
He waits in anticipation for what she's gonna say because her choice of words from the start was slowly breaking his heart piece by piece. He couldn't blame Evangeline at all — originally she didn't want to have her kids. And she never got to meet Magnolia to have that connection that Remus had when he had met her. He got to see her and she didn't, so she wouldn't feel bad if she were to never be born. But that didn't mean he didn't want to crawl in a ball and just keep screaming into a void because of it.
"But I still want to get our little flower back — and I think it's pretty bullshit that everyone got to meet her and not me."
"Really?"
"Yeah, but you need to grow some balls and just fucking shag Sirius already, it's gross how much tension is in the air when you both are in a room together!"
the end.
