We begin in the Realm of Laic Roan

also called the Realm of Roans, the Mortal Realm, the Laic of Roans or Laic Roen.

Laic Roan is a realm that consists of five large continents and various islands throughout. Including various kingdoms in alliances or independent which will be explore today.

The Twelve Kingdoms of Auradon consists of two continents and thirteen kingdoms allied since the Cauldron War.

Central Auradon:

Ivory Towers isn't an official kingdom but the capital of Auradon where the current ruling King and Queen take up residence. It also has the highest institutions of education, Auradon Preparatory for the Young and Auradon Hall for its young adult residences.

— The Borderlands, the biggest kingdom but the least inhabited. It consists of prides of lions, jungles with apes, tigers, and wolves. It's a vast majority of wilderness, surrounded by mountains and rocky seas. The only inhabited section is New Scots, which houses DunBroch Castle led by Princess Merida DunBroch. Set to be inherited by her younger brother, Prince Hamish, the eldest of the DunBroch triplets. The other inhabited part is all on the other side of the kingdom, the small town of Sleepy Hollow. Incredibly isolated and hard to get to, which is exactly what it wants to be.

— Highdawn, the biggest inhabited kingdom, home to the Rose family with Sunthorn Castle and currently led by Queen Leah Rose. It also includes a private island, Madrugada, not known for what by the other residents of Auradon. Set to be inherited by the daughter, Princess Audrey Briar Rose.

— Summerlands, also known as the Tradelands, known for its various exports and trades in food, goods, and other items. Includes Sherwood Forest and Vulpine Castle, led by Lord Robin Locksley and Lady Marian Sherwood. Set to be inherited by their daughter, Lady Wren Locksley Sherwood.

— Arendelle, covered in ice and snow due to Queen Elsa's magic from two decades ago. Biggest export is fish and ice. Home of the Andersen family who rules Castle Asle, led by Princess Anna Andersen and Prince Consort Kristoff. Set to be inherited by their son, Prince Agnarr Andersen.

— Charmante D'or, home of the Charmante family, rulers of Château D'or. Currently led by Prince Charles 'Charming' Charmante and Princess Consort Cinderella. Set to be inherited by their son, Prince Charles II 'Chad' Charmante. While a small kingdom, it's a very old and influential one.

— Southbreak, the poorest regional kingdom of them all, while not led by a royal family, it is the only kingdom that elects their ruler. Main exports are fishing and farming, though they don't do as well as Arendelle. It has two villages, Grimmsville, which houses a lot of residents that have moved recently for better housing. And the Lone Keep, a castle home to the ruling lord. Currently led by Lord Rufio of Neverland.

Western Auradon:

— Villeneuve, home of King Adam 'Beast' Beaumont and Queen Consort Belle Villeneuve rulers of Château Chambord. Set to be inherited by their son, Prince Benjamin Beaumont-Villeneuve. The kingdom was renamed after Belle's maiden name.

— Maldonia, home of Prince Naveen Salientia and Princess Consort Tiana Salientia, rulers of Castle Trémie. They have a great export on food and preserves. Set to be inherited by their daughter, Princess Eudora Salientia.

— Corona de Luz, home of Princess Rapunzel Solis and Prince Consort Eugene Solis, rulers of the Palace of Light. It has a steady peace as most of the criminal inhabitants are rehabilitated and live happily under the Princess's rule. Set to be inherited by their son, Prince Cassius Solis.

— Prydain, home of Princess Eilonwy Llyr and Prince Consort Taran, rulers of Caer Cilgant. One of the few kingdoms to remain close to magic as the Princess Eilonwy comes from a long line of sorceresses. (Characters are from the Black Cauldron for those that don't know.) Set to be inherited by their son, Prince Dallben Llyr. While not physically on the same continent as the rest of the kingdoms, it is still part of the Twelve Kingdoms since the end of the War.

— Tirulia, home of Prince Eric Torul and Princess Ariel Thálassa, rulers of Castle Seahaven. It has the best navy and ships in the Twelve Kingdoms. Set to be inherited by their daughter, Princess Melody Torul.

— Blanchard, home of Prince Florian Avekan Khione and Princess Snow White Khione, rulers of Castle Áspor. Blanchard used to be larger, with Snow White's region but she let it be consumed into the Isle of the Lost as it was more the Evil Queen's than hers, she didn't want the bad memories that came with it. Prince Florian, renamed his lands after Snow White. Set to be inherited by their son, Hail Khione. They were the last to join the Twelve Kingdoms.

note: those in line to inherit kingdoms are set by the current ruling monarch and may not be what each leader intended. only the first heirs were mentioned, this doesn't mean they don't have more children.

Apart from the Twelve Kingdoms, there were five others that chose not to unite under one King and remained independent from Auradon's rule.

Independent Kingdoms of the Realm include:

— AGRABAH, home of Sultana Jasmine Almas and Sultan (Consort) Aladdin Almas, rulers of Agrabah on the Seat of the Sultan. Also home to the Genie, the Blue Jinn of the Lamp, and his adoptive daughter, Jordan, the Young Jinn. Set to be inherited by their son, Prince Aziz Almas.

— IMPERIAL LANDS, led by the Emperor of China, but is officially led by Prime Minister Fa Mulan, its military is led by her husband Li Shang. Their eldest daughter, Li Jiàn, is in training with her father whilst their youngest daughter, Li Lonnie, attends university in Auradon.

— CAMELOT, led by King Arthur Pendragon and Queen Guinevere, rulers of Camelot and Caer Caliburn. Set to be inherited by Princess Ether Pendragon.

— NEW OLYMPUS, built around the ruins of Athens, it is not Olympus for the Gods but a land built for the demi-god children and their descendants. It is isolated from the realm and impossible to enter without admittance. Not many know what lies inside it. Led by the New Olympus Coalition whose main council are: Andromeda of Aethiopia, Helen of Sparta, and the goddess Circe.

— ATLANTICA , located in the Ariel Sea, home of King Triton Thálassa and the merfolk. It is underwater and merfolk don't particularly enjoy the surface or humans.

In the map, the titles and fonts of each kingdom tell if they are independent or part of Auradon.

Auradon's are capitalized normally and in white, while the independents are gray or black and in full capitalization.

There are also seven oceans named for each of Triton's daughters.

ATTINA SEA  -  the biggest and most fearsome sea, the rocky terrain and mountains outside of the Borderlands is an incredibly dangerous ocean.

ALANA SEA  -  the sea in between both halves of the Auradon Kingdom, a vexing channel of water no matter who sails it.

ADELLA SEA  -  the sea outside Ivory Towers and Southbreak, they say sailing through it is like a dream.

ANDRINA SEA -  the sea between Central Auradon and the Imperial Lands, most ship captains call it a restless ocean

ARISTA SEA -  the sea outside Arendelle and surrounds Camelot, it's the coldest ocean and has ice on its corners.

AQUATA SEA  - the sea outside Corona and the western port of Southbreak, it's very gentle and soothing.

ARIEL SEA - the sea outside the bottom half of Western Auradon, it's a dark and gloomy sea, it's the way to Atlantica and is said to be so quiet because of how much King Triton misses his youngest daughter, Ariel.

Other places like the Fey Lands, Wonderland, and Neverland are not part of this map because they inhabit their own realm.

If a Prince or Princess has the word Consort attached to their name it means that they were not born royal but rather married into it.

The only King or Queen title goes to the sovereigns of the Twelve Kingdoms. The rest of the kingdoms are ruled by Princesses or Princes, Lords or Ladies.

making this definitely added more to the story and made it easier to picture as well.

why'd i make a new map Auradon? because the established map of Auradon had i think like 18 states or something and it was all one thing, a Pangea, and i hated that too. just— like i— okay i personally do think the Pangea theory about our earth could be true like it makes sense as a whole, but to have that be a map for a fictional world is just very boring. it's just that, just that slab of continent, nothing else to find around the world? (and this is for it being confirmed that that is all there is, the rest is just water. now if it were a fantasy world where the characters believed they were the only continent in the world and then discovered others like ok, that's acceptable) but Auradon was like 17 or  18 places shoved together, Camelot was right next to China, so many places just pushed together and it geographically made no sense even when you use the excuse that 'magic' brought them together, like i don't care.

plus the idea that Olympus was also there and that the Greek Gods elected some French human prince who was cursed as a Beast for over a decade their king just astounds me with unbelievability. at least leave Olympus up in the sky where it belongs!

i'll be adding more around it later on like certain villages, towns, castle names, forests or important places and such. i hope you like it and i hope you can deduce some sprinkles of easter eggs and clues and little snippets i've laid out in it. and just some general trivia about where the names come from.

also !

i took some inspiration from game of thrones westeros and have been taking inspiration from it for the story in general. it helps a lot because— if you don't know— game of thrones is a very interesting political story within a fantasy realm, so incorporating who's a ruler and who isn't, who will have the throne and who wont, it really brings out people's motivations for how things are done. it also really expanded the story with adding to the conflict later on.

making this map even helped flesh out characters that i never thought about including, like Merida or Rapunzel's family/relatives, and i try to answer how these characters would've actually dealt with or face the type of world they live in now under one rule.
