       WHEN YOU ARE BORN, you are born into a Faction: Erudite, Candor, Abnegation, Amity, or Dauntless. Many choose to stay in the faction they're born into, it the easiest option. But those who choose to leave are usually pushed into the decision by the results of their Aptitude Test.

Alexis Cortez was gifted with intelligence. She was always the top of her class. Year after year, it was no longer a surprise but an expectation. And of course, she expected it as well. Those around her knew she'd choose to stay in Erudite. She couldn't be anything else. Right?

So, what of those who feel they don't belong to a single faction? Who feel they are more than just smart, honest, or brave, selfless or peaceful. It's a simple answer really, they can't exist.

You must be one or the other. Divergent minds cannot exist in this world.

As the annual Aptitude Test day approaches, many adolescents prepare to choose. The question, "should I stay or should I go?" has begun to swirl around the young mind of Alexis, as it has many others her age.

The most practical solution would be to stay, especially if she already fit in so well.

Though, what if intelligence isn't all that she is? What of her ambitious and determined personality? Or her frankness, which one might say is quite Candor of her. But above all else, what of her desire to be more than just a single trait.

Would Alexis follow in her brother's footsteps and leave Erudite? Or would she make the simpler choice to stay?

So, there have been major changes to this book (because I forgot all about the plot). I also feel like I need to get out of my writing comfort zone, because I noticed that a lot of the characters I write are a bit repetitive.
