"It was awesome!" Jamie's voice comes from his room as both Jack and (Y/N) watch from the window. "So then I was flying down this hill and it was like, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh through these cars!" He explains, dramatically waving his toy around.

"And then this truck was coming at me but then got slowed down! And then the sled hit this-this thing and it was like way up in the air!"

He leaps up, landing onto bed and on his back. "And then bam! A sofa hit me, and see? My tooth came out!" Jamie shows Sophie his missing tooth, making her giggle as she reaches for it.

"All right, you," his mother laughs, shaking her head. "Tooth under your pillow?"

"Yeah, I'm ready." He firmly replies, clicking his toy on to light up the room as he grabs his flashlight from under his pillow.

"Now, don't stay up trying to see her, Jamie," his Mom reminds as he shines his light around.

"Or she won't come."

"But I can do it this time! You wanna help me, Soph? We can hide and see the Tooth Fairy!"

"Hide, hide, hide, hide!" Sophie grins, bouncing around happily.

"Uh-uh, straight to bed now, mister," their Mom shakes her head, grabbing Sophie as she whines before giggling.

"Mom!" Jamie groans, sighing. Jack smiles slightly, his magic frosting over the window, making (Y/N) frown from her position.

His smile drops when he notices it, shaking his head as he clears his throat.

He leaps on the rooftop, waiting for his friend as she continues to stare at the family. With a sigh, she spins around, the balls of her feet landing gently against the railing.

(Y/N) sighs heavily, her cheeks puffing out as she turns to look at the moon, Jack following her gaze.

"I just..I don't get it." Jack grunts, sighing as he looks up. "If there's something we're doing wrong...can you just tell us what it is?"

"I mean, I've tried everything...we've tried everything..and no one sees us.."

The wind does not shift, and the moon does not speak. (Y/N) frowns, her eyes drooling as she faces her friend.

"You put me here! The least you could do is..tell me why..?"

The (H/C) girl turns to her friend, her hair sticking up as the wind softly caresses her cheek.

"He dosnet answer to questions we already know, Jack.." she mumbles, her friend huffing and shaking his head.

"But I don't know (Y/N)! I..I just.." he stammers, his face turning red with frustration. He grunts as he swings his staff around, yelling and huffing as he swings it in all direction.

(Y/N) tilts her head as she watches, her eyes lighting up with an idea. She quickly sits up, tripping over her feet as she takes long strides towards her friend.

Jack continues his childish display, his eyes welling with tears as he yells through sobs. He brings his staff down, about to strike the edge of the roof but yelping as his staff hits something else.

His eyes widen as he stares at (Y/N), his staff dented into her shoulder, the skin around it turning a dark shade of purple, an indication that a bruise was forming.

Jack tosses his staff away, his hands jerkingย  and hovering above the girls injured shoulder.

Meanwhile, (Y/N)'s eyes widened a bit, her vision going blank as a different image came to mind.

...

Infront of her, was a boy, but not Jack, the boy was much taller, at least three feet taller than Jack. His hair was a darker shade of brown, like that of an oak tree.

His face was pale, his cheeks sunken in and eyes droopy. He looked sheepish, a nervous grin plastered across his face as he held his hands up towards the girls face.

It seemed as if he was apologizing for something, his eyes darting between the girls shoulder and her face every few seconds.

He continued to mumble quick apologies, his fingers brushing against (Y/N)'s shoulder and pulling away as she winced.

(Y/N) shook her head, quickly telling the boy that it was alright before she grasped her shoulder, pulling away, her eyes fell as black dust coated her palm, the dust falling and staining the snow beneath their feet.

...

"(Y/N)? (Y/N)?!"

"(Y/N)!!"

The girl gasped, her mouth hanging open as she seemed to be snapped back to reality. Jack stood infront of her, his hand on her cheek, a worried expression clouding his face.

"..yes?" She mumbled, her face remaining stoic as she starred at her friend, pushing the terrible memory away and into the back of her mind.

"Are you alright?" Jack whispers, pushing his face closer to hers and brushing her cheek lightly with his thumb.

(Y/N) sighs, taking in a deep breath before plastering on a small smile.

"Always.."

Jack hums, his brows pulled in confusion as (Y/N) sighs once more, bringing a hand up, she places the tips of her fingers against her friends head, pushing gently. A pink hue emits from her hand, spreading and touching Jacks forehead.

"Blue lips.." (Y/N) sings, her voice soft as Jack's eyes begin to flutter, an audible sigh leaving him.

"Pale face.." she brings her face closer towards him, placing a gentle kiss upon Jack's nose before pulling away, her fingers remaining against his forehead.

"Breathing in.." Jack hums, a small smile on his face as the pink hue grows brighter and brighter.

"Snooow flakes.." (Y/N) finishes, pulling her hand away, the pink glow fades away. Jack stays like that for a few more seconds before sucking in a deep breath, his eyes opening and hazy.

"That's such a stupid song.." he chuckles, (Y/N) pouting and bringing a hand up, she lightly hits the back of his head, the boy wincing with a laugh.

"Lucky for you, because I didn't make that song for you!" She admits, folding her arms and turning away. Jack's eyes widen before he faces her.

"Then who-?" He starts, his voice dying out as a golden swirl flies by him.

Both Jack and (Y/N) watch in awe as hundreds of golden flecks descends upon the town, swirling and flying in between houses and people.

"Right on time, sandman.."

Jack laughs, gracing a swirl with his fingers, he yelps as a small dolphin springs from the swirl, fluttering and hopping around before flipping back from whence it came.

(Y/N) chuckles, her hand filing into and ocean of swirls, she pulls her hand back, tiny butterflies fluttering into her hair, causing her to giggle, before flying away.

Jack watches, his cheeks a bright red and eyes soft as he watches a rare smile grace his friends face.

...

A ways away, Cupcake sleeps happily in her bedroom, a small stuffed unicorn in her grasp. Sandman's magic forms above her head as she smiles.

Her dream reveals itself, her riding a unicorn, the creature bouncing happily with each step.

A dark, wicked laugh presents itself as a man steps out of the corner of her room, his eyes dark and smile wide.

"Oh.." He mockingly coos, "I thought I heard the clippity-clop of a unicorn." He approaches the girl, watching her sleep.

"What an adorable dream! And look at her.."

Cupcake sleeps with a smile, hugging her unicorn tightly.

"Precious child, so sweet..so full of hope and wonder. Why...there's only one thing missing," Pitch watches the unicorn before reaching out to it.

"A touch of fear."

He taps the unicorn, making the sand blacken as the unicorn seems to die, Cupcake whimpering in her sleep as the man laughs.

"That never gets old, feel your fear, come on," he uses his magic, twisting her dream into a black, disgusting sand. "Come on...that's right."

A dark horse neighs as it was formed, running around as he chuckles.

"Yesss, what a pretty little nightmare.." he admires, smirking at the horse as it snorts.

"Now...I want you to go tell the others, the wait is over." The horse snorts, neighing as it races off.

"Don't look at me like that, old friend," the man whines as he leaves the girl's room, looking up at the moon. "You must have known this day would come, my Nightmares are finally ready...

"Are your Guardians?"

...

Jack and (Y/N) balance on telephone lines, Jack's feet leaving frost along the wires with every step. (Y/N) hums, chuckling softly as Jack grabs her hand and twirls her under his arm.

The two sigh happily, their fingers intertwining as they continue their stroll.

Jack hums happily, his eyes opening as a flash of wind flies behind him. He stops, looking behind him and frowing, causing (Y/N) to stop and stare at him.

She goes to question him, but yelps as a black blur passes infront of her, startling her and causing her to stagger back into Jack's chest.

Jack yells, his staff at the seedy as he wraps an arm around the girls stomach, keeping her close.

The blur whooshes past them again, (Y/N) quickly catching a glimpse of the figures head. She notes the two rather large pointed ears atop its head, causing her to frown.

She turns around, but yelps as Jack grumps grabs her hand and races after the figure.

...

They face along the power lines, jumping atop buildings before skidding down into alleyways.

Jack lands first, his staff at the ready and his eyes set in a firm glare. (Y/N) lands a few ways behind him, breathing hard as she clutches her chest.

She takes a few deep breaths, bending down and sucking in a deep breath before facing up.

Dogs bark in the distance, making her look around as Jack and her go back to back, covering each other.

"Hello, mates," a familiar voice speaks up, making them both gasp. Jack pushes (Y/N) behind him as he aims his staff.

"Been a long time, haven't seen ya since.."

"Easter Sunday..back in '08" (Y/N) speaks up, her arms crossed as she glares at the figure. "Gave you a really bad case of the sniffles.." she teases, a small grin on her face at the memory.

"..hilarious." The man grumbles, causing Jack's eyes to lighten up in recognition.

"And haven't seen you seen the Blizzard of '68
I believe."

Bunny emerges from the shadows, pointing his boomerang at Jack as he glares at him, the atmosphere becoming tense.

"Easter Sunday, wasn't it?"

"Bunny!" Jack greets, casually throwing his arm around (Y/N) shoulders with a playful grin. "You're not still mad about that, are you?"

"Yes." Bunny replies, lifting his boomerang up before exhaling and shaking his head.

"But..this is about something else."

"Yeaaah no thanks.." (Y/N) sighs, shaking her head with crossed arms. "I've gotta go prepare for Easter..sooo" she turns to walk away, but stops when she hits something fluffy.

"Ohhh no, we work on the same day, if I can spare a couple more hours, so can you." Bunny spits, his eyes set in a firm glare.

"Fellas?" Bunny calls, making (Y/N) pause and look up. She yelps as she was grabbed, her vision going dark as she was shoved into a bag.

"Hey!" Jack yells before he also yelps, and next thing he knew he was shoved in the same bag as (Y/N).

(Y/N) grunts at the impact, her coat wrapping around her and tangling her legs together. "Let us out!" Jack yells, making her grunt as he flails around.

A portal quickly opens and the Yetis speak to Bunny, pointing to the portal with head tilts.

"Me? Hah!" He laughs derisively, "Not on your nelly, see you back at the Pole." He taps his foot, and hops into a small hole, leaving behind a small, delicate flower.

The Yeti's shrug, reeling their arms back before tossing the bag into the portal, both (Y/N) and Jack yelling as they were sucked in.

What a terrible day.
