1.3 | Night Changes

Cleopatra stood at her locker waiting for Wednesday to meet her, she had just finished her Economics class which happened to be the last one of the day; thankfully, it was Friday. "Yo, Hayden!" A male called out, she turned her head to see Christopher Moore walking towards her with his usual group of Jocks. "Can I help you, Moore?" Cleopatra asked politely, leaning back against her locker as Christopher rested his arm by her head to look down at her. Christopher was the schools Quarterback and the grandson of the local Judge who lived on the other side of the Addams Family. "I'm sure there are a few ways someone like you could help me," Christopher said flirtatiously, his boys chuckling at his words as he added, "But I was wondering if maybe you were free tonight?"
Before Cleopatra could say anything, another spoke up on her behalf, "She's got plans, Moore." Cleopatra and the others looked over to see Wednesday standing tall, his dark eyes focused on Christopher and his all too calm demeanour sending uncomfortable chills down the spines of the other boys; each of them were convinced that he was a serial killer. "I think she can speak for herself, Addams," Christopher snarked, he and Wednesday had always been enemies at the school. Both academically battled for the top spot from Freshman year and despite Christopher having a future scholarship thanks to Football, he was determined to best Wednesday academically as well. "You're right, she can. However, I'm saving her the effort of rejecting you again," Wednesday replied monotonously.
He had a point, Cleopatra had rejected Christopher Moore a total of six times and he still continued to ask her out; never pressured, just offered a chance to join him for some form of date or event with him. "Wednesday is right, I have plans already," Cleopatra spoke up to prevent the situation from potentially escalating; she knew that Wednesday would absolutely beat Christopher in a fight. Christopher was clearly unhappy with the rejection but he simply smiled towards the girl, "No worries. Another time then." Christopher motioned for his boys to follow him, glaring at Wednesday as he walked by the boy and left down the hall with Cheerleaders chasing behind him hoping for a chance.
Cleopatra turned her attention to Wednesday who had watched the Jocks disappear down the hall, he loathed the existence of Christopher Moore and couldn't wait to outlive him. "Wes?" Cleopatra called out softly, placing her hand on his arm. Wednesday immediately turned his attention to the blue eyed girl, his expression softened at the sight of her smile. "C'mon, let's get out of this place," Cleopatra told him, grabbing Wednesday's hand in her own before pulling him along. Wednesday's lip twitched into a small smile, one subtle enough that no one else would notice. The feeling of her warm hand in his own was such a pleasant feeling to him, he cherished every touch and craved her affection more than oxygen.
"Why does he continue to ask you out?" Wednesday complained as they walked side by side to the bus stop, "I understand that you're clearly the most beautiful girl in this town, but no means no." Cleopatra blushed at Wednesday's compliment, it wasn't like he never complimented her; he often did but it was still enough to make her blush each time. "I try not to understand the inner workings of a teenage boys mind these days," Cleopatra replied with a shrug in an attempt to brush off the sweet words that made her heart skip a beat. Wednesday looked down at the dark brunette, her eyes focused on the mass students leaving the school grounds. His eyes trailed to her lips, the pink shine made them look so sweet and he was almost desperate for a taste.
"The clouds are rolling over, looks to be a good night for the Seánce," Cleopatra expressed to Wednesday, she turned her blue gaze to the almost black of Wednesday's eyes. Her body shivered under the intense gaze he held and the way he reached up with his free hand to brush his fingers along her jaw, these little moments made her heart stutter and she had to remind herself that Wednesday was just naturally affectionate with her; they were best friends. And with that thought in mind, all of those unwanted feelings were pushed deep down out of sight, out of mind. How she couldn't see that Wednesday Addams was completely and irrevocably in love with her, no one would truly know.

Later that night, Cleopatra had changed into a black lace dress and tied her back with a navy bow, slipped on some nice ankle boots and headed to the Addams home for the Seánce where the family planned to summon Fester Addams from the dead. Cleopatra always loved participating in the Addams' events and such like this, it was always a sight to see the magic that coursed through their veins compared to her own. While the Haydens worked mostly with light magic and healing, the Addams' typically worked with Necromancy and black magic; the opposing sides would make people think they'd be enemies however, the two families had never had an issue and often worked together to help each other.
Greeting Gate as it opened for her, the dark brunette skipped her way up to the front door of the Addams Family home. She knocked a quick three then two taps before linking her hands together behind her back. See, she wouldn't normally wear the shade of black due to her preference of Maroons and Navy Blues but a small part of her wanted to see Wednesday's reaction to the different look. And a reaction she did get when the door was opened by Wednesday who stood wearing his usual tailored to perfection full black suit, a silver chain hanging loose around his neck along with rings adorning his fingers as they flexed at his side. Cleopatra smiled sweetly at her best friend as he stared at her, his posture seemingly frozen.
Wednesday Addams was awestruck at the sight of Cleopatra Hayden standing before him dressed in his families shade, the black lace taunting as it clung to her bodice showing off her perfect curves. The skirt of the dress stopped mid thigh allowing Wednesday to admire her smooth legs and get a glimpse of her thicker thighs, the more flesh to bite and hold. Under the rising full moonlight that was hidden behind the stormy clouds, Wednesday Addams was certain that Cleopatra Hayden was made for him. His heartbeat was pounding in his chest, his throat dry and his mind creating images that would give a nun a heart attack. On the outside he seemed stoic as ever but on the inside, Wednesday was trapped between pushing the feelings away for the night or. . .
Cleopatra let out a sudden yelp as Wednesday stepped forward and lifted her up, over his shoulder where he had the back of her dress against her thighs firmly to prevent any inappropriate sights for others. The door closed on its own as the Addams teenager made his way to the stairs and up towards his own room. Cleopatra had been stunned at first but then giggles left her lips as she let him carry her despite the position being new to her. She could remember all the times that Wednesday gave her piggyback rides or the times when Wednesday would be annoyed at something or possibly irritable and Cleopatra would cling onto him like a koala because it always made him happy having her close. Once again, how could she not see he was in love with her?
Morticia Addams smirked knowingly as her son walked by with Cleopatra over his shoulder, his eyes set with the burning flame that Morticia saw in her husbands eyes; that hellfire of love and devotion. "Hello Mama Tish!" Cleopatra called out as she lifted her head to make eye contact with the beautiful tall woman. "Hello dear. Behave, you two," Morticia cheekily warned before walking away in search of Pugsley to keep the boy distracted from trying to torment his older brother. "Not a bad view," Cleopatra playfully commented knowing that Wednesday would hear her, she glanced at his butt for a moment before blushing and looking away. Wednesday smirked, his own gaze flickering to Cleopatra before focusing ahead.

Wednesday's door slammed behind him, the lock snapping over as it is charmed to do everytime he closed it as such; a warning for privacy. Despite enjoying the feeling of Cleopatra's body against him like when she would koala hug him, he made a quick effort of tossing her onto his bed watching as she bounced and yelped with a laugh. "Wes!" Cleopatra exclaimed as she let her body lay back against the silk of Wednesday's bed, he shivered hearing the nickname he only allowed to leave her pretty lips. "Tired?" Wednesday asked noticing the blue eyed girls yawning, between the walk from the door and his encounter with his mother, he had managed to regain some of that Addams self-control to not just pounce on the brunette.
"A little bit..." Cleopatra responded as Wednesday walked over and laid back against the bed next to her. "We don't start for another hour, you can have a nap, princess," Wednesday told her softly, he turned his gaze to see how she responded to the pet name; smirking when the blood rushed to her cheeks and she looked around the room wildly. "Princess, huh?" Cleopatra asked once she cleared her throat, admittedly that pet name coming from Wednesday Addams' lips sounded like a sin in her head; she really wouldn't mind him calling her that again. Wednesday took a steadying breath to steel himself, he wanted to do this properly, he wanted her to respond to his emotions equally not lustfully nor by the allure of the Addams' magic.
"Yeah, do you like that pet name, princess?" Wednesday asked as he moved to hover above her, he didn't hide the storm swirling in his eyes as he looked into her ocean eyes. "Uh... I..." Cleopatra turned her head away from Wednesday, she couldn't understand the racing of her heart or why she felt so damn flustered by the low tone that rumbled with his words along with the intense gaze. Wednesday reached up with the free hand that wasn't holding him above Cleopatra and grasped her chin between his thumb and finger to turn her gaze back to him. "Something got your tongue, princess?" Wednesday purred lowly, he meant his promise to claim her heart as she had claimed his; even if she hadn't realised yet.
The two were silent as they stared at one another, ocean eyes focusing on the darkened abyss within Wednesday's gaze that stirred a pit in her lower stomach. Wednesday leaned down, his self-restraint would only hold him back for so long at the sight of her flustered expression, he noticed how her eyelids drooped in a half-lidded gaze that encouraged him to move closer. Cleopatra's mind was blank aside from the thought that she and her best friend were seemingly about to kiss and for reasons unknown to her, she wanted it to happen. Just as Wednesday's lips brushed against Cleopatra's, a loud bang echoed through the room followed by the cackle of Pugsley Addams.
Cleopatra had been startled by the sound and pushed Wednesday back to create some space between them and look to see what had happened. A small hole had broken in Wednesday's bedroom into the hallway, a sign that Pugsley had blown it up as an attempt to get inside the room. Wednesday's murderous gaze was focused on the ceiling as he lay back against his bed, Cleopatra was fully awake now and even more alert than normal as proven by the glow of her eyes. She shook her head and cleared her throat, "I'm, uh, gonna go see if Morticia or Grandmama Frump need help." With those words, Cleopatra unlocked the door and made her way out, disappearing down the hall. Thus, leaving a manic Wednesday who could feel the ghost of her lips and a possessive need to take full claim of her.
