Among her siblings, Ariadne was was quietest of the bunch. She was smart, but incredibly introverted and shy. She wasn't like her sisters (who were all about getting married and having kids), nor her brothers (who basked in the glory of battle). She was just...there.
When Theseus came, she fell in love rather quickly. She was completely enamored by him, to the point that she gave him a string to help navigate the famed Labyrinth. Soon enough, she eloped with him, only for him to leave her at the shores of Naxos, where she was found by a nomad vampire and was turned.
Her personality pretty much remained the same even as a vampire. But she was even more of a recluse, due to her very valuable abilities. It was very hard for her to make friends, with both humans and vampires, and it took her a while to actually find the courage to socialize with whatever species. She is, however, a very good hunter. She still continually drank from humans because despite of her kind-hearted nature, she can hold a grudge, and for nearly a millennium, she enacted her revenge on Theseus by killing mostly unfaithful men.
She is often seen as meek, but at the same time, she knows her worth and isn't afraid to show anyone what she's capable of.

It honestly took me SOOO long to conceptualize Ariadne. I desperately wanted to write a fanfiction from Alistair (because there's barely any) and I wanted to just shower him with love. But boy was it a pain to make up a character.
I'm pretty sure I came up with the idea of Ariadne while I was still doing some research for 'Running in Fear,' but if you ask how I went from Greek gods to Ariadne and her story, I have no idea what to tell you. I just know that that's how it started (I think).
The most difficult part of making this story was how to properly explain her abilities. I honestly have no idea how I came up with "manipulation of future outcomes". I just know I based it off of Ariadne's famed string and I just went with it. It took a while to actually try and explain it, but I hope it was interesting and compelling enough for people.
