I couldn't exactly put how I felt into words. Bonnie was dead, and I couldn't do anything about it. She died alone, fighting Klaus, in order to save Elena. If I would've known harnessing that energy was gonna kill her, I would've done it myself. She's always the first one to sacrifice herself and she's so under appreciated...or should I say was. It's just you'd think I would've known because I was a witch too. I'd just been distracted.
I couldn't sleep just thinking about it. I was still in Klaus's clutches at the moment. I knew my parents were worried about me. I honestly didn't know if the others even knew I was gone. "Alaric" probably made an excuse and they bought it.
"We'll be back as soon as we can." Maddox told Klaus as he and Eliza walked towards the door together.
"Yes, do hurry. I'm anxious to get out of this body. And if you guys get hung up, call me. You know how impatient I get." Klaus reminded them as I looked on to watch Katherine make coffee. The domestic thing did not suit her.
"Oh we know." Eliza smirked as she left with Maddox following behind her. Every time I looked at her I couldn't help but to think about how similar we were and not just physically, but also personality wise. She even looked like the girl in my dreams that tried to save me, I just couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe I was in denial, like I am with everything else in my life.
"Where are they going?" Katherine questioned like the curious George she is, whilst handing Klaus a cup of coffee.
"To retrieve me. So I can get out of this bad hair-do." Klaus answered as he walked behind the countertop, standing next to Katherine.
"I wonder who's fault that is." I mumbled in aggravation as I played with my rings.
"I almost forgot you were here, Amira James." Klaus smiled in my general direction like a Cheshire Cat.
"Do you keep saying my whole name just to point out you that you know it?" I asked, wondering why he would always refer to me as my full name. It was very annoying and sort of intimidating with the way he would smile and then stop in one full motion. He was truly a bad guy if you'd ever seen one.
"Yes." He said subtly, before Katherine chimed in the conversation.
"Are you sure that's a good idea, Klaus?" She asked him, thinking that it would be too early to reveal himself yet.
"Well, the full moon is almost upon us. I've killed the witch, I have the moon stone, and the doppelgรคnger is waiting in the wings. I am ready to break this curse."
"Why would you do that here? There's so many people that would try to stop you."
"Because I have to. It's the birthplace of the doppelgรคnger."
"I didn't realize that was a requirement."
"Well, how could you? You betrayed me and fled England before I could give you the details, Katerina. But I did find your birth place and I slaughtered your family. So I guess we're cool. Let's just hope that Elena isn't as stupid as you were." Klaus taunted Katherine as I saw her attempt to conceal her somber expression. I watched her inhale deeply and composing herself before responding.
"She won't run. She'll die before she lets anyone that she loves get hurt."
"She's not wrong." I agreed.
"And that's exactly what I'm counting on." He said as he grabbed one of Ric's jackets off the coat rack by the door.
"You're leaving me with her again?!" I exclaimed as I pointed at Katherine.
"I know you two are fond of each other." He stated, smirking like he knew something we didn't. Then he looked at Katherine and compelled her, telling her she couldn't leave until he told her she could, before we were left aloneโagain.
โโโเฎเนโกเนเฎโโโ
"I saw your face." I said all of a sudden. Katherine turned around looking my way, waiting for me to explain what I meant to her.
"When he mentioned your family. I'm sorry."I continued as I saw a glimpse of emotion on her face before she replaced it with a stoic expression.
"I don't need your pity." She stated definitively.
"I'm not pitying you, I'm trying to sympathize with you, they're two completely different things."
"Yes you are, you just don't realize it. I don't need or want your pity, or your so called sympathy."
"Alright look, I get it, you don't like me and I definitely don't like you, but we're stuck here, alone and with each other." I told her. The fact of the matter was, we didn't know how long we'd be stuck with each other, the least we could do was make the best out of our shitty situation, right?
"What'd you have in mind?" She sighed as she looked like she didn't have anything else better to do. Since we're both bored, I had the perfect idea.
I got up from the couch and walked into the kitchen and looked in the cabinet to find what I was looking for. I pulled out the tall bottle of bourbon and placed it on the counter. I grabbed the remote to the stereo and placed it right next to it.
"First, never have I ever, then, we have a dance party." I smiled at her before she raised her eyebrows at me in surprise. I pulled out two glass cups before setting them on the counter. I opened the bottle of whiskey and poured the brown liquid into both of our glasses.
"I'll go first since I'm the youngest." I announced.
"Did you just call me old?"
"Yes, yes I did. Now let's get started. Never have I ever gone skinny dipping." I stated before waiting to see if she would drink, but she didn't. I thought she'd have skinny dipped. Guess that just makes one of us. I looked her in the eyes before I downed the shot.
"Do I even want to know?"
"That depends on how drunk I get. Your go."
"Alright. Never have I ever been able to do magic." She smirked as she folded her arms.
"Your evil." I remarked before filling up my cup and taking another shot. Man does this shit burn on the way down.
"Never have I ever slept with two brothers."
"Now who's the evil one." She retorted before taking a shot of bourbon.
"Never have I ever kissed a girl."
"That was a low blow, even for you." I whined before taking another shot. She laughed at my demise. She had a beautiful laugh, it's sucks that she hides it with her evilness...
"Never have I ever tried to kill my doppelgรคnger."
"She's a boring waste of space and you know it. I doubt you even have a doppelgรคnger."
"Hey! We all have doppelgรคngers, mine just happens to be somewhere on the planet while yours happens to be in the same town your in." I defended.
"Whatever you say Amira James."
"Now you sound like Klaus."
"That's probably the worst insult you've thrown at me all day."
"Doubtful and honestly, if your past wasn't so messy I think you two would actually get along. You're both villains who are misunderstood."
"I'd rather pour vervain in my eyes then be so called friends with Klaus. He made me this way, I wasn't always like this."
"You let him make you this way. You gave him power by letting him control your reactions. He did something life-altering and he hurt the people that you loved, your family, but look at you, you're doing the same thing to other people. I believe that you weren't always like this, hell, I'd love to believe that there is actually a beautiful and gorgeous soul behind that tough exterior you hide behind. Your just scared people won't except it, your even scared you won't. You've been playing this role for so long, you wouldn't even know where to start." I stated.
She looked down, not meeting my eyes entirely. I knew I had hit a nerve, but I wanted to say that to her just because she needs to hear it. I know that doesn't mean she's going to change overnight or actually listen to what I said, I just wanted her to really understand it and get it. I knew she would deflect and get defensive but I would know for some reason she'd listen or get what I was saying. I felt like I knew her, it was strange and peculiar but it was also refreshing and invigorating. It was electrifying yet horrible. I didn't like her, at least I don't think I do...I don't know her.
"You don't know a thing about me, so you can stop pretending that you do. If it wasn't for Elena, you'd still be hiding yourself."
"Don't turn this around on me. You just gave yourself away, now I know I'm right. Anyways, enough with this negative energy. It's dance party time." I said before grabbing her hand and standing her up. I pressed play on the remote and on came My First Kiss by 30H!3 ft Kesha.
"Come on let loose for once in your life!" I yelled over the music before dancing myself with the bottle in my hand. I drank some of it while grabbing her hand and twirling her around. She then grabbed the bottle and took a shot before placing it back on the counter. We just danced around the apartment having a good time, occasionally throwing pillows at each other and ransacking Ric's place. It was fun, I didn't know the infamous, and elusive villain that was Katherine Pierce could have fun, but she could.
I was idly standing in the living room, still dancing, while Katherine was smiling at me and drinking from the bottle of bourbon which we had pretty much run out of.
She looked through another cabinet to get out another bottle. She held it in her hand by the neck of the bottle and smiled at me. She opened the bottle and put it up to her lips and took a sip before suddenly stopping. She then placed the bottle on the counter and walked towards the door. I raised my eyebrows before following behind her. Both of us heard a knock on the door before a familiar voice spoke from the other side of it.
"Alaric, are you home? It's Andie Starr, Jenna's friend." Damon's plaything said as I saw Katherine try to open the door but she couldn't. I gently pushed her to the side before opening the door.
We saw Damon and Andre staring right at us. Damon's eyes lingered on me a bit longer then normal.
"Thank God." Katherine sighed from right next to me.
"So, we've all been worried about you and here you areโhaving a dance party with the enemy." Damon said to me in an accusatory tone.
"You think I'm here because I want to be? I doubt you'd even cared I was gone, what with your Elena saving activities!" I exclaimed before rolling my eyes.
"Do you know how many people are looking for you?" He creased his eyebrows questioningly.
"Not really since I've been stuck in here!" I held up my arms before I let them fall to my sides dramatically.
"Wow! You were right. She looks exactly like Elena." Andie stated in fascination.
"Don't be fooled their nothing alike." I advised her as Katherine looked in my direction while Damon uttered a yep, while trying to get in through the door. He knows he hasn't been invited in doesn't he?
"Thought you might be dead. Both of you."
"Unfortunately not." Katherine and I mused simultaneously.
"What are you doing here?" Katherine continued looking at them, as Andie walked in the apartment.
"We are here to rescue you." Andie smiled hopefully at Katherine and I.
"We can't exactly leave Andie." I sighed as I walked over to the kitchen.
"No, sweetie. We are here to see if she deserves to be rescued, and if Amira knows what's good for her, she'll leave with us."
"Right." Andie co-signed.
"I figured you still might be kicking. Alari-Klaus was blending way too easily. Figured he had probably had some coaching." Damon aimed entirely at Katherine before waving a small bottle of vervain in his hand. I grabbed a bag of chips and walked back over to join in on the "friendly" conversation.
"He actually made it pretty obvious, you guys were just too blind to see it." I said as I plopped a dorito into my mouth. Damon glared at me in response before Katherine opened her mouth.
"Is that..." Katherine questioned in disbelief.
"Vervain? Your salvation." Damon answered in a spiteful manner.
"It's not going to undo anything."
"There's always a loophole. Did he tell you to stay in this apartment until he said it was ok to leave?" Damon questioned. Katherine opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out.
"You can't say. Did he tell you to do absolutely everything he says until the end of time?"
"No."
"There's your loophole. Drink this and prevent any further compulsion." Damon stated as he held out the vervain for her to take. She stepped closer towards the threshold of the door to grab it but Damon yanked his hand back, preventing her from getting it.
"Give it to me."
"Answer one question first. You double crossed us with Isobel, why?" Damon questioned.
"I didn't think you could stand a chance against Klaus, so I was looking out for myself." Katherine answered honestly.
"And where did that get you?" Damon rubbed in her face glibly. She scoffed and gave him a fake smile before he caved and gave her the vervain.
"Here. Be careful with that. If he finds out you have that, you're never getting out of here." Damon warned her as she drank the vervain and started coughing.
"You owe me. And I will collect. Come on witchy it's time for us to go."
"You know I can't leave Damon. He threatened my parents and I know you weren't too fond of yours, but I love mine so I'm staying. Just please watch out for em' while I'm in here." I asked. I never asked any favors of him. I just needed him to do this one because I was not losing my parents, I can't. He nodded once before he walked away with Andie following him out not too far behind.
"Nice to meet you." Andie said to Katherine before shutting the door. Katherine sighed before looking at me.
"What now?" I questioned.
"What was it that you said to me? 'Let loose for once in your life', our dance party was rudely interrupted." She smirked at me while walking towards the stereo and turning it back on. Get Some by Lykke Li blared through the speakers as we easily got back into the swing of things.
Katherine grabbed the lamp and tangoed with it as I laughed at her. I jumped up and down on the couch while whipping my sweater over my head like it was a fan. It was fun to just forget for a few hours with Katherine about our predicament and hell she was actually fun company when she let you see a different side of herself.
Unfortunately, reality set back in. We both heard keys jingling in the door knob and quickly sat down like we weren't having a dance party. Klaus walked in through the door and eyed our close proximity to each other. She sat next to me with her arms crossed while I hung upside down.
"You mind turning that down?" Klaus ordered rather than questioned, obviously in a bad mood. Katherine grabbed the remote to turn the music off.
"Why so grumpy?" Katherine asked.
"Well this body had outlived its usefulness."
"Do you want a drink?" Katherine asked trying to brighten up his mood, for our sakes.
"No, Katerina, I don't want a drink." He declined.
"Come on. It might loosen you up." Katherine attempted encouraging as she stood up from her seat on the couch and handed him the bottle. Klaus in turn, snatched the bottle from her hand and threw it at the wall a few inches away from my face. I quickly shielded my face in case the glass was out to get me. Klaus then grabbed Katherine roughly and looked her in the eyes.
"What I want is for you to sit down and shut up." He compelled her, not knowing she had already taken vervain. He let her go as she backed away from him and sat back next to me on the couch. Maddox then walked through the door followed by Eliza.
"Maddox, Eliza, what took you two so long?" Klaus questioned them, already itching to be back in his own body. For a 1,000+ year old guy, you'd think he'd be more patient...he was far from it if you asked me.
"You've got a lot of luggage." Maddox answered him as people with large leather duffel bags came through the door. Followed by a young African American woman with curly hair. She was a witch.
"Greta. Finally." Klaus smirked while she smirked right back at him.
"Hello, love." She greeted softly.
"Hello."
"Nice body. You ready to get out of it?" She asked him.
"Mmhmm." He hummed in response as two more people brought in a big looking coffin. Oh shit! This is not good, I repeat not good! The Scooby gang is definitely screwed. Katherine and I glanced at each other before paying close attention to the scene unfolding before us. It's like we were in some drama tv show. If we are on a show, I want to be written off before all the death and bloodshed. Is that too much to ask?
โโโเฎเนโกเนเฎโโโ
Maddox, Greta, and Eliza were chanting around a circle of candles as they did the spell to put Klaus back into his body. Alaric's body was stood by the coffin, while Klaus's body was still inside. Katherine stood outside the candle circle and watched as the fire hit brighter while getting further into the spell. Then the chanting stopped. All five of us looked over at Alaric to see him gasp awake. I looked at Ric worriedly as he made eye contact with us.
"Mira? Elena?" He questioned before he collapsed on the floor. I rushed over to check on him to see if he was still breathing. While I was checking to see if Ric was okay, Maddox walked over to the coffin and opened it up to reveal a beautifully sculpted blonde haired guy. That was Klaus?! Well who the hell was going to tell that he was good looking!? What the fuck! Klaus made eye contact with me while smirking before looking at everyone else in the room.
"Now that's more like it." Klaus spoke with a hint of mischievousness in his tone. Oh shit, he has accent too...we're all screwed.
