NANCY DREW TOOK PRIDE IN A GREAT MANY THINGS. Foremost among was her name; she was glad that when her parents saw the chance, they took it, and now she was named after one of the most famous female detectives in fiction novels. She did her best to live up to her name and often stuck her nose in places she didn't belong, making her well-liked and loathed in equal parts at Los Feliz High School.

She often considered herself a people-person for she took an interest in learning about others and their problems and helpfully solving them, whether asked to or not. Surprisingly, it was more often the latter than the former as she was well-known for her skill in finding answers to issues that those in the middle of them couldn't. Still, Nancy's curiosity often got the best of her and landed her in precarious positions, both with the law and in the popularity pool.

When Julie Molina suddenly recovers from her musical hiatus with three (extremely cute) guys, Nancy is immediately suspicious. Who are these musicians and why did they suddenly appear? So, she makes it her mission to find out.

― Nancy is obviously based off of Nancy Drew the detective. Before JATP starts, she's known around school for solving small crimes and disagreements between friends. Some people see her as a nosey busybody, but others think that she's super helpful. 

― While she's not necessarily a bad person, her curiosity often gets the best of her and she finds herself in the police department more often than not. She's on a first-name basis with the Sheriff and he constantly reminds her to call him 'Sheriff Marcus' (she always ignores his warnings, though, since she knows he doesn't mean it.) 

― She has two close friends just like in the Nancy Drew books: George (who's played by a girl) and Bess. In this adaptation, Bess is a worrier and George is more of a go-get-'em type of person. Also, because representation matters, George gives me ace/arro vibes and can go by more than one pronoun if you'd like. Nancy is straight and you can choose Bess' sexuality (if you want to put her with Luke or Julie you can.)  

― None of the main trio are immediately friends with Julie. While they're in the same class, they just don't really hang out with her. Nancy does play the drums in the school band, though. The band room is their traditional hang out spot and where she tells Bess & George about her suspicions with Julie's new band members. 

― After Sunset Curve's first school appearance, Nancy spends the afternoon locating Julie's address and then goes over to snoop around. For whatever reason you decide, Reggie is the only one that catches her trying to look into Julie's garage where the instruments are set up. 
     ― Since Reggie's not expecting her to see him, he stands next to her on the step stool she's made and says something like "what are we looking at?". When he speaks, Nancy is so startled that she falls off the stool and stares at him in shock before she gets a little angry that he scared her.
      ― I don't have an explanation for why she can see him so you can come up with that (you could say that her mom is dead and she tries to contact her mother through mediumship which makes her more sensitive to the supernatural.) Reggie is, of course, excited that she can see him but when she asks why she wouldn't be able to, he sort of clams up because he forgot that he's supposed to be a secret. 

― Somehow, Reggie starts to see Nancy more often (maybe she befriends Julie to try and figure out the answer) and when he learns that she's an amateur detective, his nickname for her becomes "snoop" and he often greets her with "what's the scoop, snoop?"  
      ― He figures out that she's trying to figure out what's so mysterious about them but he doesn't tell her the answer right away. Instead, he's kind of smug about it, like "I know something you don't know." It frustrates her to no end but he thinks it's cute when she gets all huffy with him. 
      ― When she does find out he's a ghost, Reggie makes it a habit to visit her and pops over to her room unexpectedly and it startles her every time. 

― Because I prefer slow burns, I'd probably have them admit their feelings for each other later in the season but you can decide when it feels right. I just wouldn't do it right away because a) that's not realistic and b) Nancy is guarded and a bit paranoid because of her detective-ness so she wouldn't be open to her feelings immediately. 

― Feel free to use any of the graphics provided when creating the book, but make sure you credit me as the creator in addition to the plot. Also, you don't have to use all the quotes provided in the 'description + epigraph' section but I wanted to make sure I got the right vibe across.
