I WOULDN'T MIND

two. anything for you

"YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE HELPING." Travis huffed, adjusting his hold around a rather large three trunk, his eyes on the couple in front of him. Emmett held a tree over his shoulder, his golden eyes cast upon the small vampire that sat on the tree he carried. She laughed as she pressed her hands into the bark on either side of her, her legs crossed and her feet dangling close to her boyfriend's chest.

"We are." Emmett responded, his eyes moving from the young Swan to the ground to make sure he didn't trip. The last thing he wanted to do was drop, even if he knew she'd be perfectly okay.

"Yes, that looks like helping." The boy muttered, his tone flat, which made the couple laugh.

"Cheer up, Travi. It's a wedding." Cori turned to look at him, careful not to move too much. She knew Emmett was strong, but she was worried if she moved too much he'd lose his grip. And they all knew that if they messed up the decorations Alice would be out for blood.

"Where do you want 'em, boss?" Emmett asked, looking up at Alice as they passed the porch, where Bella was trying to walk in her wedding heels, and failing miserably.

"On either side of the aisle." She nodded and Emmett looked up at Cori, who shrugged a little.

"What aisle?" Rosalie asked, a tree stump in her hands and a confused look contorting her features.

"Does no one have vision?" Alice huffed as she made her way down the steps towards them and Cori jumped down and made her way over towards Esme, who was arranging the flowers, so she wasn't in Alice's line of fire.

Alice was a perfectionist. They all knew that. And Cori knew it was best to stay out of her way when possible.

"Put me to work." Cori smiled up at the older woman, who chuckled a little as she handed her a white bucket with flowers sticking out of it.

"Can you put them on the table?"

"You got it." She nodded and made her way over the table to put the flowers down but before she could ask if she needed help with anything else, Emmett wrapped his arms around her waist as he leaned down so his chin rested on her shoulder. She laughed a little as she placed her hands on his, sliding her fingers through his. "What are you doing?" She asked and he turned a little, kissing the side of her head.

"Alice is distracted. Let's get out of here."

"She would kill us."

He grabbed her waist and turned her to face him. "I'll die happy." He leaned forward and pressed his lips against her. "Very happy." She giggled as she stretched up onto her toes, brushing her nose against his before pressing her lips against his once again.

"And you guys say Rose and I are bad about pda."

"Babe, we are." Rosalie patted her husband's back, a smirk on her lips as she kissed his cheek. He smiled and leaned down, pressing his lips against hers and she laughed lightly as he wrapped his arms around her.

"I think we lost them." Esme mused, looking over at Alice, who stood on the porch with her hands on her hips as she glared at the two couples.

"A little help, please." She looked up at her husband, a smile on her face and he chuckled, nodding his head once before the two couples pulled apart.

"Screw you, Jasper." Emmett huffed, upset he had effectively ruined the mood.

"Seriously, not cool." Travis glared, and Jasper just smirked.

"Alrighty then." Alice clapped her hands. "Let's get back to work."

"YOU'D THINK YOU TWO WERE the ones getting married." Lola mused as she made her way into the room she shared with Cori, making both vampires sigh. Cori shook her head a little, moving off of her boyfriend's lap as Lola plopped down onto her bed with a family sized bag of Lays potato chips. "Seriously, every time I come in here you're attached." She shoved a chip into her mouth. "Honestly surprised I haven't seen his bare ass."

Cori shook her head, giving the blonde a weird look. "I don't even..." She tailed off, as she sat in her desk chair - she knew it was best to put some space between her and Emmett.

"There, it's my family. Here, it's Lola." Emmett muttered, laying back across Cori's bed. "I'm buying us a house. This is getting ridiculous."

Lola laughed, shoving another chip into her mouth. "Always happy to cockblock." She tipped her head forward, her fingers pinched near her forehead as if she were wearing a hat.

"You spend too much time with Jasper." Cori chuckled as she pulled her legs up to her chest.

She merely shrugged. "Kinda can't help it, where we go, he goes. And he amuses me. Also I like his accent. Very southern." She tried to mimic his accent but it didn't quite work, making Cori laugh.

"Two stories." Emmett mumbled. "Huge windows. In the woods. Far away from everyone. Huge bathtub."

Cori smiled over at him as he laid across her bed, his eyes on the ceiling. "Two stories? You gonna keep it clean?"

"Absolutely." He hummed. "You won't have to lift a finger."

"You realize you guys are leaving in a few days, right?" Lola asked, still munching on her chips. "Unless the plan has changed."

"No, we're leaving after the wedding." Cori grinned. "First stop is Foamhenge."

"Such a weirdo." Lola chuckled, shaking her head. "Why do you wanna see styrofoam?"

"Why not?" The vampire shrugged.

"Still gonna buy us a house." Emmett mumbled, mostly to himself. "I love my family, but we need our own space."

"It would be nice," Cori hummed, wrapping her arms around her shins, her chin on her knee. "-to have a house here, something to come back to."

"Oh, buy me a house, too!" Lola nearly shouted. "I'm headed down to Stanford in a few weeks and I still don't have a place to stay."

"Seriously?" Cori gave the girl a look, to which she shrugged.

"Noah said he can sneak me into his dorm."

"No, you need a place to stay. Not his dorm." Cori shook her head. "We're finding you an apartment."

"I can't afford an apartment."

"I'll buy you one." Emmett pushed himself up on his elbows and her hazel eyes went wide, like he had grown another head.

"I was kidding."

"I'm not." He told her. "You're Cori's family, which makes you my family. And I take care of my family."

"If she doesn't, can I marry you?"

"Sorry, he's all mine." Cori beamed, making Emmett's smile grow.

"Are you for real?" The blonde asked, her eyes on the burly vampire.

"Yeah." He nodded. "We can head down there before our trip and find a place, get everything set up."

"I can't let you buy me an apartment." She shook her head. "That's too much."

"It's not." He gave her a smile.

"How are you real?" She mumbled, her eyes still wide, her bag of chips long forgotten. "If you do buy me an apartment-"

"Not if, when." He corrected.

"Fine... I-I'll pay rent. It'll make me feel better, less like I'm taking advantage of the fact that my best friend's boyfriend is loaded."

"Works for me."

"You're seriously the best." She told him and he shrugged, his smile still present. "Seriously, Cori, marry him."

"Someday." She hummed, watching as Emmet's smile grew even wider, then she heard something outside, before Travis' laugh reached her ears.

"That's my cue." Emmett pushed himself up, making his way over to Cori. "I'll see you tomorrow."

"Kill a bear for me." She hummed and he chuckled as he leaned down, his hands on the armrest of the chair as he pressed his lips against hers.

"Anything for you." He mumbled against her lips and she reached up, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him back to her. Only when a shutter sound went off did the two pull apart, both looking at Lola with creased eyebrows.

"What? You guys are cute." She shrugged, laying her camera next to her. "You'll thank me for that one day."

"She's insane, I swear." Cori mumbled, her eyes meeting Emmett's again, making him laugh. "Okay, go." She let her arms fall from around him.

"Goodnight, Shortcake."

"Goodnight, Tree." She mumbled as he pecked her lips again, then he pushed himself up and turned to Lola.

"You, look at places online. See what you like before we go down there. It'll make things easier."

"Where did you come from?" She muttered, still completely awestruck that he was so willing to buy her an apartment. He chuckled as he started for the window and when he pushed it open, he turned back.

"Ladies." He ducked his head a little as his goodbye, making Cori roll her eyes then he was gone.

"I love that man." Cori breathed out, shaking her head a little. And she chuckled a little when she heard Travis teasing him, then she heard a smack - she assumed Emmett had hit his brother. She pushed herself up and made her way to the window, hanging her head out but she couldn't see Emmett, Travis and Jasper. All three were laughing and calling for Edward, who was in Bella's room.

She moved out the window and stood on the sill before hosting herself up onto the roof. "Cori!" Lola nearly shouted, scrambling towards the window. "She's gonna give me a heart attack."

"I'm fine." She leaned over the edge of the roof, giving her best friend a small wave before she crossed the roof so she could see them. She chuckled when Emmett jumped, latching onto Bella's opened window.

"Send him out, Bella, or we're coming in after him." He told the older Swan before he jumped down and Cori shook her head, then Jasper jumped up.

"Don't worry, Bella, we'll give him back in plenty of time." He smirked before jumping down.

"Guys! The house." Cori huffed and three vampires looked up at her. "It's breakable."

"You would know." Travis smirked and she rolled her eyes, raising her middle finger at him. "So, Shorty, you wanna join?"

"I'm good, thanks, though." She told him. "I'll see you guys tomorrow." She turned and made her way back across the roof and maneuvered back into her window. And the second she was in the room, Lola threw a pillow at her.

"I get that you're immortal, but that does not mean that you can do crazy shit that gives me a heart attack."

"Yes, mom." Cori hummed and Lola rolled her eyes as she flopped onto her bed and pulled her laptop into her lap.

"Now come help me look at apartments." She told her and Cori grinned as she closed the window and made her way to her best friend. She sat next to her, her back against the headboard and her ankles crossed as Lola typed in apartments in Stanford.
