Charlotte walked up to the boys house, nerves bubbling in her chest. She knocked on the door, and Walker swung it open. He looked no different from when she had seen him a few hours ago, which was comforting for her in a way.
"Hey, Char" he grinned.
"Hey!" She exclaimed, shutting the door behind her and stepping in. She hadn't felt this happy to see him in a long while.
"Wanna go on a drive or something?" He questioned.
"You have a car?" Charlotte asked, shocked.
"Why does that seem so odd to you?" he laughed.
"but yes, in fact, I do"
"Then shit, yeah, that sounds fun" Charlotte smiled, a bright look in her eyes. What the actual fuck had changed in the last, like, day or something? She just seemed to find him so much more enjoyable to be around?
"Cool, lets go" He grabbed the car keys, swinging them on his finger before re-opening the door for Charlotte.
As they both got into the car, Walker turned to the gorgeous girl in the passenger seat beside him.
"Where to, Char?" he gave her that big grin again.
"Hm" she thought "I think.. we go buy books" she raised her eyebrow at him, returning his grin as she awaited his answer.
He laughed, his expression never changing "Yes ma'am. Lets go"
Charlotte nearly choked as he started driving.

When they arrived, they stepped out and walked up to the beloved Barnes & Noble.
"What book are you looking for?" Walker turned to Charlotte.
"Fearless" Charlotte beamed "I've literally been waiting so long for Lauren Roberts to come out with it"
Walker took a minute to appreciate the radiant girl in front of him. He loved how excited she got over the little things. She talked to him about Fearless and other books while they walked around the shop, browsing, until she found what she was looking for.
Charlotte didn't waste a second, picking it up and examining it. She was so excited, she didn't notice Walker admiring her.
"Let me buy it for you" Walker proposed.
"What?! No, I can't ask you to do that" Charlotte declared.
"But you didn't ask, Char. I'm offering" He smirked, leaning slightly down so he was eye to eye with the shocked girl standing before him.
"Walker, I promise, it's fine! I appreciate it, really I do, but-"
"Char, we both know i'm not dropping it. Come on" He pushed.
Charlotte sighed "Just know, I feel terrible right now, and it's all your fault" She furrowed her brows angrily, covering her mouth with her hand so he couldn't see her grinning from ear to ear like a little girl.
He gently pushed her hand aside, ruining her terrible disguise. "You look crushed, I feel like a monster" He laughed.
She laughed back as they walked to the front, and Charlotte (very begrudgingly) let Walker pay for her book.
As he handed her the bag on their way out, her face lit up like it was Christmas. She wouldn't stop thanking him, even when they got in the car, because she felt a little bit bad, even though she hadn't even asked him to pay for it.
Before they started driving again, Walker turned to Charlotte.
"Char, you can stop thanking me now" Walker teased.
"I know, i'm sorry, but your just really nice" She giggled.
"Well thank you, but seriously, it's ok. I mean it"
"Thank you" Charlotte replied one more time.
"Where now?" Walker questioned.
"I'm fine with anywhere" Charlotte shrugged.
"Do you wanna come back to my house?" Walker offered.
"Sure!" Charlotte cheerily answered.

On the way back, Charlotte couldn't stop glancing over in Walker's direction. She had to admit, he looked kinda good when he was driving. Just a bit.
"You seem to be staring an awful lot lately"
Charlotte nearly gasped out loud.
As an attempt to not completely embarrass herself, she blurted the first thing that came to her mind.
"I thought there was a bee on your shoulder"
She nearly cried.
"A bee? Char, you can do better then that" He winked.
Charlotte giggled and crossed her arms, throwing one last glance at him before gazing out the window.

When they arrived, Charlotte shut the door behind her, Walker a few steps ahead.
She followed him up to his room, making small talk as they skipped up the stairs.
Walker sat on his bed while Charlotte leaned against the wall.
"You can, like, sit down if you want" Walker joked.
"Sorry" She giggled nervously, sitting herself awkwardly at the end of the bed.

As they talked more, she eased up, getting comfortable. And they talked and talked about anything, because neither of them minded the other's company anymore. Progress.
