THE DESERT SEEMED TO QUIETEN DOWN AND BECOME STILL AS EVERY MOVEMENT STOPPED, the life of (Y/N) hanging on by a thread that the sand seemed to understand that. All the wind around became still, almost like the air around was no longer breathing, all expect that forming sandstorm.
Scarlet red coated all over her stomach and arms from the wound, her mouth slightly open with more of it dripping onto her skin. Her head was tilted downwards away, while her body was limply placed on the hook in the air.
Crocodile continued to pierce her stomach and chuckled at her now completely weakened self that he took down, "This outdated consideration for others is going to destroy this land."
More blood dropped onto the sand below staining the once pale colour of it, as her almost lifeless dull eyes stare down at the spot where the broke barrel of water was. Even in the state she was in, her heart squeezed realising that the rest of that precious water was gone thanks to Crocodile.
"And the same goes for you, Fox Girl (Y/N)." He bumps up the hook into her stomach more causing a pained groan to escape her, coughing a bit of blood that landed onto his boots, "If you had abandoned your worthless feelings, you would have lived longer."
He spots the water mixing in with the blood on his hook, and felt his breath hitch a bit watching as it somehow was trying to travel up her arms, seeping into her wounds to most likely heal her. But he soon smirked smugly, knowing he destroyed the barrel that she tried so hard to protect.
"I doubt you still feel indebted to this water, huh?" He snarks a comment laughing boastfully through his teeth, as he twisted the hook more into her stomach, causing her to splutter out more blood from her mouth, body twitching a bit.
However it completely shocked him to his core when her head lifted up weakly, dull eyes glaring into his ones intensely that had him shivering a bit. Her hand slammed down around his wrist where the hook met, her palm hot to the touch making him wince a pained groan feeling her trying to burn his skin, and break his wrist.
She made some uncomfortable noises at the hook stabbing into her stomach, as she pants heavily feeling her strength leaving her by the second, but yet still didn't loosen her hold on his wrist even for a second, trying to inflict pain onto him also.
"You mean, you're still alive?" He growled in disbelief staring at her with wide eyes, before gritting his teeth to bring his hook up above his head with her body following, and threw her down towards the sink hole he created.
She didn't have any strength to catch herself or bend her way out of it, as her body rolled down the sandy hill all the way down until she came to a stop at the bottom. She landed on her wounded stomach, causing immense pain to shot through her.
Yells of pain escaped her lips rolling back onto her back to cradle her wound, fingernails digging into the ripped material of her robes that exposed her skin a bit, blood and sand covering her from head to toe thanks to what just happened.
She was unaware of how her abilities were currently trying to heal her, but very slowly where she wouldn't realise it till later on. The area around the wound was heating up thanks to her fire ability, and was trying to seal the injury before it got any worse.
The sand hole was staring to sink which taking her down with it, more cries of discomfort leaving her as she wriggled around on the ground in a lot of pain, all while Crocodile was up top near the edge looking down at her cockily.
"It looks like that hurts. But you'll be out of your misery soon enough." He comments lazily chuckling his normal dragged out one, not a glimpse of sympathy for (Y/N) trying to fight against the sand pulling her in despite how badly wounded she was.
Her arm outstretched showing off the blood dripping down along the skin, her teeth bared in a scowl at him in her final moments as the sand had covered her lower half, leaving only her chest and head out of the sinkhole.
"Bye, now." He snickered amused as she goes under the sand to disappear completely from view, his eyes catching the faintest glow of fox eyes peering back at him that his own ones going wide, before that view faded away also.
Turning away from the sinkhole still moving his tucks his hands into his pockets, fluffy jacket blowing in the wind that picked up, "That was a waste of my time." He mumbled walking off to leave her and the fight behind.
Else where still traveling along the desert on Pincers the moving crab, the crew were all still on edge from having left one of their captains behind to deal with the enemy herself. Not many of them were talking, and were trying to distract themselves more then anything.
Luffy's head lifts up a bit getting a sudden bad feeling in his stomach, that caused him to frown heavily and cross his arms over his legs, chin resting on his knees gazing out at the dester behind them. Happy was next to him with a similar expression, keeping his other best friend company and reassured him also by patting his leg with his paw.
Over at the other end on top of the crab, Sanji was lightning another blunt to place it in between his lips, this being a way where he could calm his worry levels about his beloved. His eyes nor has the swordsman's left the direction they left (Y/N), and were constantly looking at it, dearly hoping she would be alright.
Zoro was doing weights with Lashes on one of his swords that he was lifting, his face in a scowl trying not to think about his captain, because if he did, not much would stop him from jumping off the crab and running back to her. But he believed in her, and trusted her more then anyone in the world, so he would have to deal with his uneasiness for now.
Nami noticed what the male was doing across from her, and moved her gaze away from the sunset to him sighing, "Zoro, you're just wasting your energy doing that." She pointed out getting a sharp glare back in return, as he just kept going.
"Leave him alone, Nami." Sanji surprisingly spoke up in a low voice, pulling his blunt down from his mouth to blow out some smoke, and pointed his thumb back at Zoro, "If those guys aren't doing something, they can't keep focused. They're not that adept. Especially that muscle freak."
Zoro's scowl sharpened staring at Sanji's back that was facing him, and paused his weight lifting for a second, "Hey, you, what are you trying to say?" He grumbled in a challenging tone, "Go ahead and spell it out."
"Ah, you want me to say it?" The cook mocked lifting a hand up into the air, luckily his back was to them so they couldn't see his trembling bottom lip rasping his next words, "You're scared. You're worried that our captain, (Y/N), might lose."
This left the crew speechless hearing this, while Luffy and Happy shared a look with each other, deciding to stay back and watch the two males closet to (Y/N) argue over her. Luffy would step in if needed, but he also wanted to see how this plays out.
"Who, me?! Scared, you say?!" Zoro growled out defensive, trying to mask how he was indeed by getting angry at Sanji, and stood up from the crab's back glaring, "Fancy eyebrows!"
Sanji clicked his tongue turning his head over his shoulder, matching the swordsman's scowl, "Don't deny it, moss-head." He retorted grunting out, and fully faced the fuming Zoro, "You're just as worried sick about her as I am."
Zoro's mouth opened and closed like a fish trying to come back with something, gritting teeth in defeat looking at Sanji's frowning face. He knew the cook was right, too correct and it made his stomach churn just thinking about (Y/N) being out there alone with him, and Sanji to protect her.
The cook hummed in approval a bit when he noticed the conclifed look on Zoro's face, and flicked some of his blunt into the air to put it out, "See? I told you, moss-head." He commented in a knowing tone, causing Zoro's resolve to break.
"What did you say?!" The two butted foreheads in the middle growling like rabid dogs, eyes a blaze glaring into each others as they got to shove one another, but was soon stopped by Nami's fists hitting them in the heads, causing Luffy and Happy to snicker together watching the scene.
The boys both fell face first onto the crabs back with a bump on their heads, once more missing (Y/N) since she would always comfort and help them after a hit from the navigator. Their pained groans were muffled by the material on the back, as Chopper's jaw dropped realising how strong Nami was.
"Cut it out, this is poitness!" She exclaimed in a scold, her fists still up in the air staring down at the males with a smphty face for a moment, and sighed heavily, "I get you're worried about (N/N), we all are. But this isn't going to help anything."
Vivi nodded her head in agreement standing up from her spot, and walked up to the group in the middle, "She's right! Take it easy, everyone." She spoke up smiling reassuringly, voice full of confidence, "(Y/N) won't lose. I mean, we promised her, didn't we?"
Luffy grinned throwing a bright thumbs up with Happy in agreement also, knowing that his sister would win no matter what, and knew there was no need to stress, "Aye, you're right! Don't worry, my sister will kick Crocodile's butt!"
"You seem more worried than any of us, don't you?!" Usopp exclaimed in Vivi's face sweat dropping, and then towards Luffy and Happy who looked sheepishly away, making the sniper shriek watching them do that.
Nami went up to the princess and gently knocked her fist onto the girls forehead, earning her a pained noise from Vivi, "You should just worry about the rebellion." She reminds in a strick way, shaking her head softly at the blue haired girl standing in front of her.
Zoro rubbed the back of his head pushing himself up from the crab's back to sit on it again, right away from Sanji scowling at him through his glasses, "If you have to cover for us, we're done for." He grumbled sweating nervously, fingers subconsciously traveling to the bracelet hidden on his wrist.
"Alright, then! Switch your minds over to 'Alubarna'!" Nami exclaimed in an encouraging voice, raising her fist into the air above her head in a pump, and talked to the crab next, "Let's go, Pincers!"
MANY HOURS PAST MAKING THE DESERT ENVIROMENT NOW DARKNED AND MORE DULLER THEN IT NORMAL WAS, and still laying limp in the sinkhole was (Y/N)'s figure, laboured breathing escaping her raw lips from the wind making them chapped.
She was lucky enough that her abilities were keeping her warm from the now cold breeze flowing through the land, making her half conscious figure shiver a bit, to weak to pull herself out of the hole she was stuck in.
Her figure was a little bit out of the sand also, lower half stuck in the sinkhole while her upper was laying on her back, arms covering her bloody wound across her stomach. She looked like she just came back from a murder scene from how much blood was all over her body, and clothes.
Everything hurt to move even if she wanted to, her limbs felt to heavy to even lift up which meant no bending her way out of the mess. Her eyelashes were barely open, dull gaze looking up to the nighttime sky above her, hoping Zoro, Sanji, and all the others were better then she was currently.
Her trembling hands move a bit towards the sand below her, falling limp to her side her left one did, and dug her fingers into the ground, gritting her teeth to ignore the horrible pain she was feeling as her thoughts drift back to something Crocodile said.
"There's a difference in the level of pirate that you and I are. Yuba is going to die. And then, the flame of anger in the rebel army will burn even hotter."
A new sense of determination and rage flowed through her now hearing his words inside her mind, and her eyes flew open fast, irises glowing a faint orange hue now. As hard as she could, her fingers flexed weaky against the sand and tried to bend herself out of it.
And it slowly was moving feeling her force trying to control it. The sand was pushing back a bit away from her lower half, causing her to pant more heavily at the strain to her, and clenched her jaw to fight through the pain, focusing on moving herself out of harms way.
Unknown to her also as she was trying to bend the sand with her abilities, a few of her veins in her arms were pulsing with a dull orange colour, lighting up for a few seconds until it died down when her hold over the sand become weaker, and weaker.
She lays there breathing heavily too exhausted to keep going, as her eyes flutter closed again ready to expect she was near death row now, the bleeding from her stomach still happening, but was slowed down by her abilities she had.
Her few bracelets on her bloody wrists were also covered by her clothes, but anyone passing would be able to notice the faint glow illuminating from the beads holding them together from her wrists, once again something she didn't notice nor will till months from now.
The sound of approaching footsteps didn't even have her on alert, as she was too weak and drained to move a muscle to protect herself. A second later she felt something touch around her body, and was brought up into the air out of the sand by many hands carefully holding onto her body.
Her (E/C) eyes opened up a little bit trying to see who it was through her blurry gaze, heavy breaths leaving her parted lips as she was passed along the stairs of hands leading all the way up to the edge of the sinkhole.
Another pair of warmer hands cradle her body in their hold, the girl catching a glimpse of a white cowgirl hat on the persons head holding on bridal style. The one whom was holding her placed the girl gently onto the sand, and stepped back into her view properly.
(Y/N) weakly turned her head towards the side swallowing the harsh lump in her throat, touching the wound on her stomach, "Thank.... you..." Her words were a hoarse struggle to get out, seeing that Miss All-Sunday, aka Nico Robin had rescue her in her time of need surprisingly.
Miss All-Sunday just observed the injured girl below her feet on the sand, running her eyes down her figure before humming softly, "Why do you fight?" She asked in a monotone voice, not gaining a response from her, "You, who have the name of 'D'?"
She furrowed her brows confused hearing the sudden statement, breathing becoming a bit laboured trying to ignore the pain she was in again, "'D...'?" She wavered out in question coughing a bit, "W-what... do... you mean-"
Who are you people? Miss All-Sunday thought to herself realising that (Y/N) didn't really know either, and waved a hand in the air reassuringly, "Apparently, that was a pointless question, huh?"
She used her Devil Fruit ability to fetch after the girls straw hat and coat, bring them both back over with her many hands, and grabbed them both. She held the hat in one hand and the blue coat in the other, still staring down at the girl.
"I found you!" Another furious male voice yelled out from behind them, causing All Miss-Sunday to turn to look over her shoulder, seeing Pell in his human face cradling his injured arm, blood over his chest and mouth also, "Where is Vivi?!"
"My." She commented in amusement turning around to fully face the male, holding (Y/N)'s stuff to her chest smirking playfully, "Are you awake already?"
"Now that I've got a handle on your ability," He speaks up in a sneer to her words, limping closer to where she was next to the other girl, "this won't turn out like last time!"
Miss All-Sunday threw the straw hat onto (Y/N)'s heavy chest, and placed the coat by her feet before turning to look at Pell closely, "Don't overexert yourself. You must be seriously hurt." She tells him going to walk away back to her bananagator ride, "This works out perfectly. Why don't you save that girl?"
She pointed at the Monkey D. girl's figure when she past her, causing Pell to also stop at her and gazed over her condition, seeing how badly she was bleeding and that her breathing sounded terrible from the way her chest moved up and down.
"She was courageous enough to deliver your precious princes to this land, after all." She informs the shocked Pell bending down beside the unresponsive girl on the sand, "Besides, the princess is safe. She's on her way to Alubarna right now. I'm not sure about what will happen to her later, though."
Miss All-Sunday hoped onto the steps leading onto the seat of transport on the gator, looking at the two behind her for a second more, before getting onto the animal to run off into the desert, "The situation is what it is, you know?"
