𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐈𝐑𝐋𝐒 𝐀𝐋𝐖𝐀𝐘𝐒 swore that they kept their room tidy until it came to packing for the winter break.

"You ready to go home?" Indigo asked as she cocked her head.

"Yeah I mean I haven't seen my parents since I left-" Lillian nodded as she looked out from her closet,

"You and I both know that I wasn't asking about them," the brunette pointed out hinting to Ethan,

Who had been around the dorms more than usual recently.

"Look Ethan and I agreed to be friends," the blonde mumbled as she raked her fingers through her hair,

She hated lying to her best friend but she had no choice,

"I know but," the striker trailed off as she watched the girl grow irritated,

"There is absolutely nothing more to it," the defender grew defensive as she furrowed her eyebrows,

"Look I just want you to make sure that you don't get hurt," this was Indigo's version of an apology,

"I promise I won't," Lillian sent the girl a soft smile as she let out a gasp,

"Since when did you have my shirt?" She added as she looked in the corner of her eye to see her yellow crop top that was sat in her roommates closet,

She had been looking for that shirt.

"Uh," the brunette awkwardly scratched the back of her neck as she shrugged.

Lillian stood in her room as she packed her bags,

"What are you doing here?" Lillian asked as Luke walked into her dorm,

"You think I'd leave without saying goodbye to my best friend?" Luke let out a scoff as he shook his head,

"You better not," the blonde furrowed her eyebrows,

"My parents are dying to meet you," the brunette confessed as he sat on Indigo's bed,

"I'll meet them in the spring," the soccer player had already decided that she would spend spring break with Luke,

It was a good thing that he was on board with that too.

"You promise?" The hockey player asked as he ran his fingers through his hair,

"Promise," Lillian nodded as she locked her pinky with his,

"Now go and tell your brothers I say hi," she added as she softly slapped his knee,

"Are you seriously going to act like you love them more than me?" Luke's jaw dropped as he sent her a glare,

"I'm not acting," the blonde teased as she smiled,

"And here I was ready to tell you I was gonna miss you," the brunette placed his hand on his chest as he let out a dramatic sigh,

"I'll miss you too Lukey Bear," the soccer player laughed as she pulled him into a hug,

"Stay safe okay?" The hockey player smiled as he patted her back,

"And ignore any stupid things that Ethan does over the break," he added as he sent her a serious look,

"Should I let him know that you said that?" Lillian teased as she grinned,

"I'll just deny it," Luke shot back as there was a knock at the door,

"I think that is my ride," the blonde hid her smile as she knew that it was Ethan,

"And is my cue to leave," the brunette opened the door to be faced with his teammate,

"Hey bro," Ethan shook the boys and in their weird little handshake as the girl looked at him,

"Happy holidays you two," Luke smiled as he waved to the duo before he left,

"You ready to go?" The Canadian asked as he wrapped his hand around the girls waist,

"Always," the blonde nodded as she placed a kiss on lips when she knew that her best friend was far away.

The duo sat in the airport as they waited for their flight,

"You ready to go back?" Ethan asked as he pulled the girls feet into his lap,

"Yeah," Lillian nodded as she tucked her hair behind her ear,

"It's gonna be nice to stop pretending for a while," she explained as she rested her back in her chair,

"You plan on telling our parents the truth?" The brunette's eyes went wide at the announcement,

"Hell no," the blonde threw her head back as she laughed,

"What are playing pretty girl?" The hockey player furrowed his eyebrows as he grew confused,

"Last time I checked our bedrooms are close enough to each other that we can see each other," the soccer player explained as she moved her hand to his cheek,

"Whenever. We. Want." She added as she kissed him after every word,

"You're really trying to make these flights harder than they need to be," Ethan warned as he let out a guttural groan,

"You've always wanted to join the mile high club?" Lillian teased as she moved her hand to his chin,

"You can't be lying to me right now," the brunette warned as he was fully ready to go through with it,

"Ethan I was," the blondes eyes went wide as she saw how flustered the boy got,

"Babe!" The hockey player grumbled as he sent her a glare,

"Sorry darling," the soccer player apologised as she pecked his lips,

"You're a little shit," Ethan mumbled as he shook his head,

"But I'm you're little shit," Lillian sent him a shit eating level grin as she let out a giggle,

"Now that is true," the boy nodded as he ran his fingers through his hair.

The duo arrived back in Edmonton and smiled as they felt the cold wind hit their face,

"You ready to go home?" Ethan asked as he cocked his head,

"You ready to see me drive?" Lillian shot back as she spun her keys around her finger,

She had convinced her mom to drop the car off that morning when her parents pick up her grandmother,

The blonde knew that it was the right call bring her spare set of keys with to Michigan.

"Don't remind me," the brunette shook his head as he shuddered,

He was truly scared of her driving skills,

"We both know that I won't kill you," the blonde let out a scoff as she sent him a glare,

"I promise," she added as the boy shut the trunk,

"Fine," the hockey player sighed as he nodded,

"But don't be surprised when I take your keys away from you," he added as he kissed her lips,

"Why are you looking at me like that?" The boy cocked his head as he pulled away,

"You're hot when you're bossy," the soccer player smiled as she wrapped her hand around his wrist,

"I am?" The hockey player chewed the inside of his cheek,

"Yeah," Lillian nodded as she kissed his cheek,

"Now be a good boy and move to the other side of the car," she added as she gave him a soft push in that direction as she then made her way to the drivers side.

It was good to be home.

AN: little bit of a shorter chapter but we are now into the mini portion (like 3-4 chapters) of them being home for the winter break, so soft Ethan is coming our way!

Also I did want to ask for the new book (because this one is going by much quicker than originally anticipated) do you guys have a preference on me either: releasing one book at a time and only releasing the next when the first is complete or would you rather see two books come out at once. Either way you will only be getting one chapter a day as the updating norm.
