03. the mystery boy
Diana and Anne were talking about a certain boy if I remember correctly, his name is "Gus". I'm wrong, his name is Gilbert.
That name sounded so pretty to me.
"Who is this Gilbert?" I asked them, intrigued. I sat in the middle between them, the class had not yet started, of luck.
"Gilbert was one of the best students here. He's pretty handsome, and it's him that Ruby likes." Diana replied.
I found out that he left Avonlea because he wanted to travel the world as his father had once done, and that right now he is in Trinidad. Diana suggested giving the letter to Ruby, but Anne quickly refused. I'm sure Anne has feelings for Gilbert.
I did not pay attention to them, talking about boys is not my thing.

"Prissy said his mustache was rough, not soft ..."
"What does Cole remind you of, sitting like that between their coats?" Anne asked suddenly, we all turned to see Cole, who was drawing cross-legged and, as Anne said, between the coats.
"I do not know," Tellie replied.
"An owl in a tree bowl," the redhead murmured. He is so dedicated to his art. It cultivates your imagination.
"He's very attractive, don't you think?" Asked Ruby.
"You can't like all boys," Tellie said. Josie laughed at the comment.
"He's sad and very handsome," I commented under my breath.
"The poor man needs encouragement." Josie got up from her seat ready to go to the brunette.
She sat next to him and, although we couldn't hear what she was saying, the more she talked to him, the more he ignored her. Your dignity will be lost this day. Cole said something to her that made her stand up in outrage and say,
"Cole is a weirdo."
"Take it back, Josie Pye," Anne said angrily. "Cole is my friend."
"Then they are made for each other."

"It's your turn." Josie placed the bottle in the center and stared at Anne.
Anne spun the bottle and fell next to one of Billy's friends, Paul.
"I'm not going to kiss the ugly orphan." he refused. Billy laughed.
"When Anne turns red, everything about her is as if she were red." Josie scoffed.
I rolled my eyes at the blonde's comment.
"I'll kiss Anne," Cole said as he got up. Anne got up and moved a little closer to Cole.
"Well, let the weirdos kiss each other."
"Are you so jealous of Anne because Cole rejected you this morning, and now he's kissing her?" I asked and the boys laughed. She glared at me, I swear she was about to explode, the poor thing about how red she was.
Cole and Anne were still wondering whether to kiss or not. Which made Billy impatient, and he started saying, "Kiss you weirdos" along with his friends and Josie.
Anne grabbed Cole and kissed his cheek. We laugh at that, as do they.

"I decided I wouldn't give any more kisses unless I wanted to," Anne tells us. "Of course, if it weren't so ugly, I'd have more options."
"You are not ugly, Anne. You're beautiful," I told her tiredly. "And stop saying nonsense."
"It is not true. My life would be easier if I was as beautiful as you are." Diana grabbed her hand and stopped her.
"Silly stuff. I'd trade my dimples for a few of your wits. And I would say it is a low price."
"Girls, I'm glad you're so cute." She says, tears in her eyes.
