lando's a prick
Kota had spent the night at Alfie's, her mascara ruining her Renault shirt. Lando had officially broken her.
Alfie had never known Dakota to be this upset over a boy. She had always been a strong, independent woman, but whatever had happened between her and Lando was something she couldn't let go.
Alfie had to get up earlier to go down to the Alfa garage, so she left Kota a note on the mini fridge, letting her know where she had gone.
hey, I've gone down to the garage,
there's food in the fridge and cupboard if you want some, and you can wear my spare clothes and there's makeup in the bathroom.
love you bitch
Alf xx
Alfie walked down to the hotel lobby and left to go to the track. Whilst she walked down the street, she saw a car pull ip beside her. The window rolled down and George's face poked out. "Get in." He wasn't his usual cheery self, he had a serious look on his face.
Alfie frowned. "Hey are you okay?"
George sighed. "It's not me. It's this idiot." He rolled down the back window, and Alfie spotted Lando sat in the back seat, his head in his hands.
Alfie rolled her eyes. "Right." she sighed. She walked over to the passenger door of the car and got inside, turning around to look at Lando, who was refusing to meet her gaze.
Alfie didn't say anything to him. She turned back to George who had began to drive to the track. "You know?"
"Yeah. I'm sat in my hotel room going over notes for tomorrow, then the next thing I get is this prick knocking on my door tell me he's 'done some stupid shit'.
Alfie snorted. 'Yeah. Really stupid shit' she thought.
"But then he told me about Kota."
"She came to me too."
Lando finally spoke from the back of the car. "I'm such and idiot."
Alfie scoffed. "You can say that again. Do you know how much she was hurting after you did that to her?"
Lando finally looked at his friend. "Yeah Alf I know I saw the look on her face when I told her."
Alfie didn't say anything, but rolled her eyes.
George was pissed. Kota had always been one of his best friends, ever since they had first met. George had always liked Daniel, and when Alfie had introduced his sister to him, The mini Ricciardo had immediately become one of George's best mates. So when Lando had told him he had broken her heart, it was safe to say Lando had a slap on the wrist.
They arrived at the track and George parked up. Lando went to get out of the car, but George switched the childlock on. Lando looked towards his friend, a blank expression on his face. "Really?"
George swiveled around in his chair and glared at Lando. "Don't even think about going near the Renault garage. Okay?"
Lando nodded. He knew Kota wouldn't want to see him, and he didn't blame her. If only she knew...
George and Alfie shared a look before George unlocked the car. Lando got out and slammed the door behind him, walking straight towards the Mclaren garage.
Alfie sighed and sank down in her seat. She turned to George, "So, how are you?" she asked, in an attempt to lighten the mood.
George chuckled at her. "Alright. You?"
"Yeah. Pretty sure I'm going to beat you so I'm feeling great." She teased.
George slapped her arm, which Alfie did to him in return. The pair got out of the car and began to walk towards their garages, George's arm around her shoulders.
"Mum, no no-ย Mum really I don't-" Alfie had been trying to inturupt her mother for the past ten minutes.
Diana was trying to convince Alfie to come with her and Henry to a small family dinner with her brother in law, Alfie's uncle and her cousin.
Alfie and her cousin didn't get along.
At all.
"Mum! Look, I love you but I can not sit in a room with those two for more than five minutes. You know what she can be like! And Uncle Marvin? He just gives her exactly what she wants. Mum please don't force me."
"Alfie dear your Aunt just left Uncle Marvin. It's just a small get to together just to lighten his spirits. Look-" Diana's voice suddenly became very quiet, "I don't particularly like them either, but he's your father's brother. It's one meal. I promise you that's all. Look, why don't you invite someone along? That way you won't have to engage in conversation with them as much. Why don't you bring George? Marvin loves George, that's a bonus."
Alfie sighed. "I can ask, but I doubt he'll come."
"Oh that boy would do anything for you."
Alfie frowned, "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Nothing Alf... just-"
"Alright mum, I'll ask George. Even if he says no I'll... I'll go."
"Thank you sweetie. I'll see you when you get back. I love you."
"I love you too."
Alfie ended the call and slumped back down onto the sofa where George was sat scrolling through his phone. He looked up at Alfie when she sat beside him. "What's that all about?"
"My mother is forcing me to join her and Dad for a meal with my Uncle and cousin."
George's eyes widened. "Like, you're Uncle Marvin?"
"Yep. But..."Alfie turned to look at George, eyes like a pleading puppy.
" Oh god. "
"She said I could invite someone so I would have to talk to them as much... and your name might have come up in conversation so I was wonderi-"
"I'll go."
"I- wait what?"
"You don't have to pull the whole persuasive thing, I'll go. I know how they are So, I'll go."
Alfie looked at George, her expression confused. "Are you sure? I mean- It's my Uncle Marvin, he like... worships you. Isn't that a bit weird?"
"Yeah Alf, but it's also your cousin. I know what she's like so, I'll go with you."
Alfie threw her arms around George and hugged him. "Thank you George."
George, who had been caught off guard by Alfie's sudden burst of emotion, froze before placing his arms around Alf's waist. He placed his chin on top of her head, whilst she settled her head in the crook of his neck.
George felt very nervous.
He was freaking out again. He had no clue why he was feeling nervous arounf Alfie like this. It had never happened before they flew home from Austria. Ever since then, she'd been constantly on his mind.
George hoped this lunch would go well. With Alfie's cousin being, we'll Alfie's cousin, he knew exactly what sort of things could happen. With Alfie's temper, anything could happen.
