『 ENEMY
v. drive-in drama 』
(episode four. bicephaly)
WYATT ARRIVED AT THE DRIVE-IN, constantly pulling out his phone to check if Indy had replied. He walked around a bit, sneaking past the other Cobra Kai kids as to not have to hangout with them. To be honest, he didn't really like them in the first place.
After sneaking past his fellow dojo mates, Wyatt ventured over to the snack booth. His eyes soon locked on the familiar girl that he met only earlier that day. His face brightened, a grin creeping onto his lips. The dark haired girl turned, noticing the boy immediately. She quickly waved at him from afar, a toothy smile on her face. Indy excused herself from the two older women that walked behind her— Wyatt assumed they were her parents.
"Hi."
"Hi." Wyatt responded, shyly, stuffing his hands into his pockets. "I was scared you wouldn't show."
Indy shook her head, her wavy hair now laid gracefully over her shoulders. "Oh, yeah. Sorry about that. Turns out my moms we're coming anyways. Apparently, they love this movie." The girl replied calmly. She hoped she wasn't showing him how nervous she actually was.
"Oh, well that's cool." Wyatt nodded, the silence between them only growing louder.
"Come on." Indy started, starting to walk away, gesturing for Wyatt to follow her.
"What? Okay, then." Wyatt shrugged his shoulders, jogging to catch up with her.
After he finally caught up with her, she stopped in front of a car. It was small, and painted a clean black. Wyatt could tell it was nicer than anything people had in Reseda. "Welcome to my car." Indy stated, doing a big gesture with her arms to the vehicle.
Wyatt chuckled at her, staying in his spot as the girl moved to sit in the drivers seat. He hesitated taking a deep breath before joining her in the passenger seat. The two staying in silence for a few minutes as they both watched the movie. Indy soon noticed the boy shifting uncomfortably in the seat next to her. "You can move the seat back if you want." She stated, a small smirk playing on her pink tinted lips.
Wyatt glanced over or her in surprise, not knowing what to say. "It's okay. The last person to sit in that seat was my cousin and she's pretty short." Indy explained, letting him know he has nothing to worry about. Wyatt glanced down, trying to hide his now red face from embarrassment.
June sat in the back seat with Tory next to her, the two barely even watching the movie that the two boys in the front seat were raving over. "You okay?" June asked, looking over to the brunette.
"Yeah. I just had a shitty day."
June sighed, "Yup. I can agree with you there." She replied, averting her face down to her fidgeting fingers.
"Was that your first time seeing him?" Tory asked, June knowing exactly who the him was referring to.
"I mean, no. We visited him after he sent us that letter I told you about." She paused, trying to collect her racing thoughts, "I never expected him to enter the dojo like that though."
"Yeah, didn't he say he knew LaRusso too?" Tory questioned, listening closely to everything her friend said.
"Yeah, I thought that was odd. I mean, he never really talked about his past before he met my mom." June's brows furrowed in thought. "Well, whatever he's up to, I still need a job. And I hate that Wyatt's working his ass off for me."
"Because you deserve a break. You both have been through so much shit lately." Tory stated, "I mean, you've been basically taking care of him your whole lives. I think this is just him returning the favor."
June subtly nodded, "Yeah, I guess—I guess you're right."
"I'm just spitting facts." Tory remarked, smugly crossing her arms over her chest.
June gave her a look of disgust, shaking her head. "Never do or say that ever again." Tory broke her smug look, turning into one of laughter, the two girls giggles echoing through the backseat.
After they quieted down, "Anyways, why was your day so shitty?"
Tory sighed, "Well work sucked."
"At the kids place?" June questioned, I mean, kids can be brats but you deal with asshole adults less.
"Yeah, my boss is a total creep. I'll probably quit soon. And I saw Sam there today too."
"Oh, shit."
"Yeah," Tory sighed, "She kept instigating shit so I made the kids blow glitter all over her."
"Man, I wish I could've seen that!" June replied, excited but slightly disappointed.
"Yeah, it was something."
The two girls looked over as Kyler began to tell Kenny his giant food order for him to get them. They both rolled their eyes at the guy, shaking their heads. Tory scoffed, attention moving elsewhere. Junes attention stayed on the younger boy, but moved once Robby got out the car next to them to talk to him. His tone was so nice, considering how she's seen him talk to others. He really was getting a soft spot for the boy.
Tory then excused herself to the restroom, as June got out to join Robby. "Don't be too nice, he might actually grow on you."
The boy scoffed, "I'll be fine."
"Whatever you say." June said, her tone a bit condescending.
Robby ignored her comment, "Where's Wyatt?"
"Hell if I know. He's on a date." June answer, glancing around to see if she saw her tall twin anywhere.
"Date? With who?" Robby questioned, having not heard from Wyatt about a date.
June shrugged, "Some girl he met? Who? I don't know."
The boy simply nodded, the two falling to silence, the sounds of the other movie goers reacting to the film. "I know it's not really my business, but—how was your day?"
June shrugged, "Shitty." She stated, "But thanks for asking..." Her eyes lifted from the ground to meet his green ones.
Robby plastered a small smile to his lips. "Do... you want to talk about it?"
June shakes her head quickly, "No, I'd rather just talk about something else if that's okay?" Her tone was now less confident compared to how it was when their conversation began. Robby could tell, she was slowly opening up with him, even if it didn't seem like it.
Robby then noticed that Kenny had been cornered by Hawk. "That piece of shit." He muttered under his breath, quickly making his way over. June noticed too, telling Tory to grab the others and to get ready for a possible rumble.
June ran off, going to look for her brother. Wyatt and Indy laughed at something he said, the noise echoing through the car. June followed the noise, soon noticed it was him. She walked to the car, lightly knocking on the passenger door. "Hey, we gotta go. Code MD." June stated quickly patting his chest, reaching through the open window.
"June, what the hell?" Wyatt exclaimed, mad for her interrupting his date.
"Let's go!" The girl said exasperated, turning to leave.
Wyatt turned to a confused Indy, "I'm sorry. It was really nice talking with you. Gotta go, bye!" The boy exclaimed awkwardly, exiting the car and running off. Indy looked around confused, before sighing, slumping back in her seat.
The twins arrived at the group of rival dojos, "Careful, LaRusso. Your mommy isn't here to play peacemaker." Tory spat, eyes locked on Sam.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Stop. We can't do this." Miguel stared, glancing around. "We'll beat 'em on the mat."
Robby raised a brow, "Oh really? You do remember what happened last time we fought, right?"
Miguel's face turned into a scowl, "Okay. Meet us at the baseball diamond in 30 minutes." His eyes shifted to June, "And no weapons."
"We won't need them." The girl spoke confidently. Her tone drastically different compared to how it was earlier.
Wyatt began complaining to June that she shouldn't have pulled him away from his date. June groaned, "Oh, you're fine. Stop bitching about it."
Soon the 30 minutes passed, and the Cobra Kai's all arrived at the baseball field. "You guys see anything?" Kyler asked, not seeing any of their rivals.
"They'll be here." Robby answered, his tone firm and confident.
"They better be." Tory stated, Wyatt rolled his eyes, not going unnoticed by June. "Why are we doing this?" He muttered, talking mostly to himself.
June wanted to open her mouth and answer his question, they were doing this because— Oh. Why are they doing this? Because of a stupid rivalry she started? Maybe?
She was pulled out of her thoughts when one of the overhead lights shut off. The sprinklers then switched on, the group all tried to cover themselves from the water but it made no difference.
"We can't let them get away with this!"
"We won't!"
June groaned, being the first one to leave the field soaking wet. "Wyatt!" She called as she walked off, the boy following her quickly after.
Wyatt unlocked the front door, sighing, "This wasn't how I expected my night to go."
June followed him inside, "Just admit you wanted your dick wet."
"Ew! What the fuck!"
The deep laughter caught the siblings attention, eyes turning to the older drunk man that lay on the couch. "You guys are funny!" His words slurred, the wine glass that was cupped in between his fingers was empty, a bottle sitting on the table next to him.
"Dad, how the hell did you get in?"
"Key... in...plant." He paused between each word.
"Jeez, just get out, okay?" Wyatt groaned, having smelt him from a few feet away.
Kage gasped, "My own kids kicking me out... of my own house!" His words slurred and blended together, as he struggled to stand up to his feet before falling over again after.
June and Wyatt share a look, "Drag him out and lock the door?"
Wyatt nodded in response, "Burn the extra key?"
"Sounds good."
