Chapter 34) The Arrival

After a successful win against Number Two, I made my way backstage and all of us celebrated with a nice, cold beer in our hands. Survivor Series was quite eventful; to say the least.Β
Β
"My Tribal Chief, that was an incredible match tonight between you and Drew McIntyre." Paul said.
Β
"Incredible? I beat his ass back and forth throughout the match. I'll admit, Drew almost had the pinfall a few times but that still wasn't enough." I replied.
Β
"Of course!" Paul said with exhilaration. "You, Roman Reigns, have proved to everybody that you're the Head of the Table. The best of the best. The greatest wrestler of all of WWE!"
Β
"You're right, Paul." I said whilst checking the time on my phone. "It's time for me to head back home."
Β
"Save travels!"
Β
I packed my belongings back to the locker-room and before I headed out of the arena, I received a call from my wife.
Β
"Hello?"Β
Β
"Daddy!" My son said in a frantic tone.
Β
"Son? Is everything okay?" I asked.
Β
"No! Mommy said her water broke! I don't know what that means."Β
Β
"Her what?" I panicked at the thought that she was going into labor.
Β
"I don't know. Please, come soon!" He begged.
Β
"Listen son, I'm on my way over to the house as fast as possible. Take care of mommy until I arrive to the house. Okay?"
Β
"Okay, Daddy." Loto said in fear.
Β
I hung up the phone and drove as fast as I could to my house to take my wife to the hospital. It wasn't long until it was time for her to give birth to our second child. I panicked and my son had no idea about the situation. He didn't understand what Ashley meant when she said her water had broke. He was already too young to understand and I'll have to wait until he's older to explain.
Β
A couple of hours have passed and I rushed into Pensacola without a bathroom break. I finally made it home earlier than usual and ran into my home to seeing Ashley sitting on the recliner; doing her heavy breathing exercises with my son at her side.Β
Β
"Is mommy going to be okay?"
Β
"Yes, Loto. We have to rush her to the hospital because she's about to give birth to your little sister soon."
Β
"Really?" He said with excitement.
Β
I nodded and picked up Ashley with ease. I brought her and my son into the car after locking the all of the doors to our home. I rushed to the hospital and quickly checked her in.Β
Β
"Mr. and Mrs. Anoa'i?" A nurse said.
Β
"That's us! She's currently in labor and we need a room, fast!"Β
Β
"Come on, Mrs. Anoa'i." The nurse said, escorting her into a wheelchair because she was unable to walk on her own due to her going into labor.
Β
The doctors were quick enough to bring her into a room. She was quickly hooked up to IVs and other things to reduce the pain. If the pain became more excessive, she'd have to take an epidural to help ease her birthing process.
Β
The nurse glanced over at my son who was worried for Ashley.
Β
"Is this your son?" She asked.
Β
"Yes, he is."
Β
"Do you have any family members around here that can babysit him for awhile?"
Β
"Babysit? How come?" I asked.
Β
"Due to the pandemic, we're not allowed to have small children or anyone else in a hospital room. You're an acception due to the fact you're Mrs. Anoa'i's husband, right?"
Β
"Right." I replied, "I guess I can call my mother to come pick him up and take him back to their house."
Β
"Alright. We'll watch over your wife while you're making the arrangements for your son."
Β
I stepped out of the hospital room and called up my mother and father.
Β
"Hello, son?"
Β
"Mom, I'm gonna need you and dad to watch Loto for awhile."
Β
"Is everything okay?"
Β
"Yes, everything's alright. It's because Ashley's in labor with our second born and the hospital forbids our son to stay in the room. Not just because she's giving birth soon, but because of the pandemic."
Β
"I understand. We'll be coming over there right away!"
Β
Hanging up the phone, I picked up my son and we went outside of the hospital as we waited for my parents to come take him back to their house for the time being. We waited over ten minutes until I saw my father's car pulling up to the entryway.Β
Β
"Grandpa!" Loto said to my father.
Β
"Ha-ha, hey sport!"Β
Β
"Daddy said I had to come stay with you guys."
Β
"Yes, but we're going to watch movies and spend time together until your parents are able to take you back home. Where you'll meet your little brother or sister."
Β
"I'm having a little sister!"
Β
"Son, you didn't tell us that you were having a daughter."
Β
"It must've slipped my mind. I've been meaning to tell you guys, but SmackDown and everything else has been getting in the way. I appreciate you and mom taking Loto back to your house for awhile."
Β
"Of course!" My mother said, "Come, Loto."
Β
Loto went inside of their car and they drove off back to their house. For the meantime, I walked back into the hospital and put my face mask back on. I finally made it back into my wife's room and she was lying there and having excessive contractions all at once.Β
Β
"Ro, I'm scared."
Β
"Shhh. I'm here, remember?" I smiled.
Β
"It's been awhile since the last time I've given birth." She cried.
Β
"I know." I kneeled down to her and swept the hair from her eyes. "Just remember that we're about to be a little family of four. Loto's going to become a big brother and we're finally having a little girl."
Β
"I cannot wait until she's here."
Β
Over time, Ashley kept experiencing contraction after contraction. Sometimes she would scream or cry in agony as the pain continued to worsen. I called for a nurse to come in and they had to give her some epidural to ease the pain.Β
Β
"Ro, I can't do this anymore!"
Β
"Yes, you can, Ash."
Β
Ten hours have passed and she was still in labor and experiencing pains back and forth. It pained me to see my wife struggling and screaming out in pain. As much as we were excited to meet our little girl, I wish that the pain would subside for awhile to ease her mind before she started giving birth.Β
Β
It wasn't long until she started to become dilated and the doctors immediately came into the room to help us birth our daughter.Β
Β
Ashley was around ten centimeters as her cervix became fully dilated. She started screaming out in pure agony as she struggled to push.
Β
"Come on, Mrs. Anoa'i. You have to push!"
Β
She proceeded to scream for minutes whilst doing small breathing exercises until I realized she was beginning to crown and it wasn't long until our daughter was finally here.
Β
"Babe, she's beginning to crown! You're almost there!" I said.Β
Β
Ashley continued to push until our daughter finally arrived. She had to regroup for awhile and after the nurses cleaned her up and wrapped her into a small, white blanket; I was able to hold her in my arms for the first time.
Β
"Welcome to the world, Princess."
Β
Our daughter began crying and screaming vigorously and broke Ashley's trance of regrouping.Β
Β
"She's so beautiful." She teared up.
Β
I looked down at her and smiled as I held our daughter in my arms.Β
Β
"What would you want to name her, Ro? You're better off at coming up with names than I am."
Β
"You sure?"
Β
She replied with a simple nod.
Β
"Samaria Marie Anoa'i."
Β
"Is Samaria a Samoan name?"
Β
"Yeah, but she definitely has her mother's looks with those eyes." I said with the warmest smile.
