i know that i will and have been drawing heat from this topic but i love him. i've seen the hate groups, i've seen the comments about him. there's even a stranger things community that won't accept any fics of him, plots about him, discussions about him because they are uneducated.

their justification ( like most people that hate him ) is that he is racist. i do not take racism lightly. i, myself, have never been on the extreme end of racism but my mother, my father, my sister and aunts and uncles and grandparents have all been subjects to racism. if there is someone being racist, i will beat their sorry ass to the ground.

that being said, my own opinion is that billy isn't racist. the actor himself, the human being who has brought this character to life, has said that he isn't racist. let me show you some interview excerpts before the anti-billy's bust down my door:

now, i want to say, if you think billy hargrove is racist, then i won't try to change your mind. i just want to show you that there is evidence of him not being like that. and his attitude towards lucas was not racially charged. for the writers of the show to write that word out, billy has become an entirely different character.

i would not have written so many fics about him if i had believed that he was racist. but your opinion is valid and if you still believe he judges people based off of the color of their skin then your opinion is still valid.

one more thing, if you think he's racist and still read my fics and comment that he's racist, fuck off.
