Β  Β  "Sandy?!" Christian who was currently playing Danny Zuko gasped, there was not the slightest hint of his natural French accent, only a deep American mid-west accent.

Sandy who was conveniently playing a character also named Sandy, strutted up to him, a cigarette hanging from her deep red lips, tall heels, leather pants clinging to her bottom, and black shirt tight

Sandy shushed him, vaguely registering the roaring crowd beyond them. Everyone was excited for the start of perhaps the most famous song in all of Grease.

"Tell me about it, stud..." she nearly whispered before the music began blasting and the dancing commenced.

Playing Sandy in Grease was a hell of a lot different than playing Christine DaaΓ© in The Phantom of the Opera. From the music to the dancing to the aesthetics.

The Phantom of the Opera was the story of an opera set in Paris during the 1800s while Grease was a messy high-school romance that takes place in the American 50s.

Sandy had to change from the way of singing she was accustomed to.

Rather than beautiful and whimsical, she now had to sing fast and fun. And in her opinion, it was much harder to make fast and fun singing sound pretty.

She did it nonetheless β€” and she did it beautifully.

Both productions had strengths and weaknesses and both were a great honor to be a part of.

Sandy would forever be grateful for both.

However, as it had already been over a year since Cassandra started playing Sandy in Grease, and almost two years since her and Christian's last performance in The Phantom of the Opera, she had long since become accustomed to that change.

It was hard to say which she liked better as both productions were so different, but she knew deep down that The Phantom of the Opera would always hold her heart.

It was odd to be playing a part that had her same name.

As she figured, it was an incredibly big deal when "Lily Rose" not only switched from playing Christine DaaΓ© (which she had played for nine years, an incredibly long time in the industry) to Sandy Olsson in Grease.

Not only that, but she was the first person of color to ever get the role.

And, as luck would have it, her co-star, Christian Dubois secured the leading role as Danny Zuko.

Although, tonight was sadly the final night that Cassandra would be playing Sandy. It was time for her to move on.

She had stayed far too long, and now as it was almost twelve years that she'd been in New York, people were beginning to ask questions.

Things along the lines of: "You have not aged a day, I swear!" "Look at you, still so beautiful! You need to tell me what products you use to stay so young?!" "Girl, aren't you like 32? How do you still look 20?"

Along with jokingly saying "Well, black don't crack", her answers consisted of blaming it on being a vegetarian. This was not true at all, but most people believed her and immediately switched to being a vegetarian because of it. She did feel slightly bad about it seeing as it was a complete and utter lie.

It did not matter if you were a vegetarian or not: as a mortal, you age no matter what as was the cycle of life.

A sad cycle for a supernatural who constantly befriended mortals.

Cassandra started to sing as Christian ended his line, the fae kicking him down per choreography.

"You better shape up, 'cause I need a man... and my heart is set on you!" She sang loudly.

Christian got to his knees before chasing after Sandy as she strutted around the stage.

Soon enough β€” they were doing the classic shimmy dance move of the 50s. They faced each other as they did this, with wide smiles across their faces.

Based on Christian's performance as Danny, no one would ever guess the man to not be interested in women.

But it was the truth. Christian was not interested in women in the slightest.

Avan was cheering loudly from the front row: he and Christian had got married a few weeks ago after over a year of engagement. It was a beautiful wedding that they decided to have in Central Park seeing as that was how they met years ago.

In 1997, gay marriage was illegal in all 50 states of the U.S.

This did not stop Christian and Avan, they chose to have the ceremony and Sandy was the officiant who 'married' them.

As it was illegal, they would still not be considered married in the eyes of the government, but they decided that didn't matterβ€”for they were married and their souls were bound in all the ways that counted most.

Christian had even invited Alice and Rosalie whom he had met during their trip a few years prior.

During their vacation in '94, when the Cullen girls had met Sandy, they all inevitably got close as Alice's vision suggested. Within a few weeks, Sandy was as close to the two as one could be without her actually being a Cullen.

They quite enjoyed being around the fae as well: both of them claiming her as one of their best friends.

In their final weeks, Sandy decided to introduce them to Christian seeing as she had grown to trust them enough to know they would not lose control and attack him.

Rosalie, in particular, had been hesitant seeing as she was not the fondest of befriending humans.

Admittedly, Christian managed to weasel his way into her good graces.

Sandy could not even count the number of times all of them went dancing.

It was sad when it was eventually time for Alice and Rosalie to leave, but by that point, they had been away from their home for about four months and the rest of the Cullens were beginning to miss them. They were also becoming suspicious seeing as the two did not share Cassandra's existence with them.

They were not hiding her from the rest of the family, they simply decided that Cassandra was a better conversation held in person.

Cassandra had long since given her permission for them to tell the rest of the Cullens.

The fae did not know much about the rest of the family other than that they were vegetarians.

Carlisle was a doctor married to Esme who was a school teacher. Edward was Carlisle's first "child" AKA he was the first one the doctor ever decided to turn.

Edward could read minds, something that put Sandy on edge seeing as he was unable to control his ability, and should Sandy ever visit them... well, there were plenty of things that she would rather keep to herself.

Of course, it helped that he could only see what was going through one's head at that specific moment in time.

But the hard part was when one was faced with knowing Edward could read minds, it made it that much harder to NOT think about the things she did not want him to know.

She knew immediately that she would not be able to do it, and she doubted anyone else could either.

Trying to not think about something when you had to think about not thinking it was the hardest concept to understand.

Sandy still did not tell the two about her mates being the leaders of the Volturi. Not that it mattered much seeing as she had not dreamwalked to them and barely even thought of them in the past few years.

After Alice and Rosalie left, she made sure to stay in contact with them both. It was usually by letter or the occasional phone call to see what they were up to. They had been among the first and only people that she called when she got the part of Sandy in Grease.

She had been introduced to the rest of the family via phone. Carlisle was the one she talked to the most other than Rose or Alice seeing as he was very curious about the fae. Not in a negative or unsettling way, but rather in an inquisitive and happy manner.

He also wanted to make sure that Sandy knew she was always welcome to live with them should she ever want to.

Carlisle knew first and foremost just how lonely the life of an immortal being could be when you had no other immortals around you.

Humans were great, but they aged, and when they inevitably passed it left a hole of sadness that time was barely ever able to heal.

Sandy's heart warmed at this, and she graciously told Carlisle that she would keep his offer close. She promised to visit at some point as well to actually meet the rest of them in person.

She never would have thought that she would see the day that she was friends with vampires of all beings. But the Cullens were different than others she had met.

To be fair, after being raised by Lithiovai, she had never given any other immortals a chance as their bright red eyes had her fleeing in the other direction immediately.

But not the Cullens: the Cullens were warm, friendly, and happy. Not literally warm, of course, but they respected human life and even made friends with mortals.

Before Sandy knew it, the final hour had passed of Grease and she was taking her final bow next to Christian.

She stood with tears in her eyes as the audience clapped for them, the fae recognized that this was her last time on Broadway in New York for an indefinite amount of time.

And indefinite for an immortal could range from decades to centuries.

She hoped it was only decades.

She loved this city more than she thought possible β€” spending the last few years of the 80s and the majority of the 90s was a blast.

It was the longest she'd ever stayed in one place apart from her slave days.

It was the culture and hope that it provided that kept her. And she had met so many different people with so many different stories.

Sandy's apartment was practically empty, the fae having sold the majority of her things and the rest had already been shipped to her new place in Brazil.

The coast of Rio De Janeiro to be specific. She was going to be living right next to the beach.

She'd be going there with the intention of studying ballet, but she would also be doing many other things.

It had been a while since she lived in a country other than America.

Even as she was born in Scotland, America was her home. It was where she had spent the majority of her years and where she had put in so much work to change the country. A country that was always changing and would never stop changing.

She had lived in England for a very short while during World War 2 β€” and she took a year long exploration trip around Europe in the 70s'. At the time, Sandy had no clue about her being mated to the Volturi leaders, but she still knew of their existence and that she should avoid them.

She was only thankful now for the fact that her fear of them alone kept her away from Italy back then. Sandy did not even want to imagine what could have happened if she had decided to travel around Italy for a bit.

The thought always made a shudder run down her spine.

As the curtain closed, Sandy was tackled from the side by Christian who had tears running down his face which ruined his stage makeup. He was blubbering and he picked Sandy up off the ground twirling her around.

Cassandra squeaked in surprise, laughing before squeezing her friend right back. She allowed a few tears to fall as she said goodbye to this chapter in her life. It was always hard to say goodbye to the different chapters of her life, especially when she had become accustomed to them.

This was, admittedly, one of the harder sections to close.

"I am going to miss you..." Christian cried.

"Me too, you have no idea how much..." Sandy had said back, her voice nothing less than depressed as she knew she may never see Christian again after tonight.

Once she was gone for long enough, she would need to cut ties with him otherwise he would realize that she truly was not aging and it had nothing to do with her being a vegetarian or using some Swedish skincare.

Later that night, after a very long farewell to the entire cast of the production, Cassandra stood in her empty condo. A backpack was slung over her shoulder, a suitcase sitting by her side, and the golden keys that she would need to turn in on her way out were held in her grasp.

She looked through the apartment, fond memories fluttering in her chest. The many late wine nights with Christian and Avan. The nights after she had met Rosalie and Alice that they would stay up late watching sitcoms on her couch and giggling.

Even the very few nights she happened to have a male friend over.

Sandy was not one for romance, especially after she realized who her mates were: she was almost unattracted to anyone but her mates now that she had seen them. That was how the mate bond worked.

Of course, seeing as they had never actually met face-to-face, nor did they know of her existence, nor had Sandy been in physical proximity to them: the mating bond was nowhere near complete.

Hell, it was barely even there due to this.

It was why Sandy was still capable of fucking other people without an overwhelming sense of guilt and shame. But, it did stop any true feelings of romantic love from forming for anyone else apart from her mates.

Even so, Sandy was left feeling incomplete and unsatisfied from any coupling she engaged in with another. It was quite annoying and it almost felt as though she was irritating an itch that could not be scratched.

It was why she rarely had such flings.

Even before she knew of the three being her mates, she did not have sex often. Due to her trust issues and fears, it took her nearly one hundred years after she escaped before she decided that being over a two-hundred-year-old virgin was embarrassing and she had to get rid of her v-card.

It was rare that sex ended up good anywayβ€”toys were her go-to. Always reliable and no commitment or trust was involved. The perfect invention.

Sometimes she imagined what it would be like to lay with another supernatural. Mortals were lovely creatures, but it was rare they could make her feel truly good. Not when she was stronger and faster than them.

And sometimes... very rarely... she would imagine that it was Caius who had her bent over as he drove into her from behind, a loose hand wrapped around her throat as he growled in her ear.

Other times it was Marcus's hands on her hips as he assisted her in riding him... deeply... her breasts bouncing and their heavy breaths filling the room.

There were also the times that Aro β€” the one she was arguably the most afraid of β€” would have her pinned against the wall as he fucked into her, caging her small body with his own as he whispered sweet nothings and nibbled at her ear lovingly.

And seldom: the image of herself stuffed to the brim with Aro underneath her, Marcus behind her, and Caius using her mouth would weave its way into her mind. All of them drove into her harshly, but each told her how much they loved her.

That vision was most definitely one of her favoritesβ€”almost a guarantee to get her off. Well, all of those visions were a guarantee to get her off.

And on the rare occasion that she was with someone else, she would only imagine one of her mates in that person's place. Not that it ever actually worked seeing as no mortal would be able to compare to what her mates were no doubt like in bed.

But then, reality would catch up to Sandy and she would find herself disgusted and ashamed for envisioning such things with those monsters.

And then she would feel bad about thinking of them as monsters and the cycle would continue.

The two sides ripped her in half. The side that loved her mates vs the side that hated her mates.

Sandy swallowed harshly, shaking her head. That was not what she wanted to be thinking about when she was leaving the city she loved.

Walking to the large living room window that overlooked Brooklyn, she tilted her head. She would surely miss this view. With a sigh, her shoulders slouched and she turned around.

Sandy would miss her flight if she stayed any longer.

Cassandra was capable of teleportation, but she could only go a certain distance and it always drained her energy when she teleported too many times at once.

She was maybe able to teleport a good five times before she became exhausted and had to rest. She was only ever able to get as far as 120 miles at a time, and that distance got shorter the more tired she was.

Therefore, she was quite glad that the Wright brothers had invented the plane all those years ago.

Traveling from country to countryβ€”even state to state had been quite the journey before the new century.

With that, Cassandra said goodbye to what had been her home for the past twelve years, turning on her heel and leaving.
