Β  Β  Β Β  Itoro's POV (Point of View)

I looked down at my phone, hoping and waiting for Genesis to call. It's been two days since Chidinma revealed everything to us. Genesis had told me to quit my job, which I did. It hurt me to quit such a well paid job, but my life was far more important than money. Genesis needed time to think, which is a good thing cause, our next step was to bring in the police.

What surprises me was, Daniel had no hand in it. According to Genesis, he was jumpy at the hospital. But why? That was another thing entirely.

'One call away' kept on playing in the background, and it was beginning to annoy me. I looked at Chidinma who had her new phone placed at the far end of her bed.

"Would you pick your calls, Chidinma." I said, as I relaxed my features. "I am here hoping that the one I love would call me. And you're here having calls from your boyfriend, and you won't pick up?"

Chidinma shook her head frantically, "It's not from Gerald," She announced as the call went dead. "It's from Bolanle."

"What does he want?" I asked as I sat upright.

"A date," She replied as she pressed the side button of her phone, to lock the screen.

"But you have a boyfriend," I reminded her.

"Don't you think I know that?!" She almost snapped at me. "Why do you think I'm ignoring his calls!"

"Then tell him no," I said to her, "He would understand. Besides, we have a lot on our plate right now. He should not come and add his own."

"I've told him no countless times," Chidinma stated. "I've told him that I only have feelings for one guy, Gerald. But he's still telling me that, one dinner date won't hurt."

"Would you want me to talk to him?" I asked her.

"Would you do that for me?" I nodded at her question and got up from my bed and walked over to her's.

"Tell him you're going to the date," I said to her, as I sat on her bed.

"I thought you said____"

"I'll go on behalf of you. But he shouldn't know that." Chidinma simply nodded her head, as she began to text Bolanle.

"He has sent an address. You're going on a dinner date this evening." She informed me.

"Do you want me to do your makeup or__"

"God no," I said cutting her short. "In fact, I'm going like this."

"On a Jean and top?" She sounded perplexed.

"And a fancy head warmer," I smirked as I got hold of her fancy knitted head warmer.

"It's a date, Itoro!" Chidinma exclaimed.

"And he ain't Genesis."

I walked into the fancy restaurant, that was decorated with red lights and golden chandeliers. Cool music was also playing in the background as waiters and waitresses, served and took orders on their fancy uniforms. I tried to scan the almost filled restaurant for Bolanle, and spotted him sitting on one of the fancy tables at the far end.

Well, he really planned a good date for a girl that doesn't like him in that way.

I walked towards him with a fake smile plastered on my face. Bolanle was putting on a tuxedo. Who knew he had a tuxedo?! Well, everyone were putting on expensive tux and fancy gowns. I was out of place with my rip Jean, black top and Chidinma's fancy head warmer. But I didn't feel out of place. I didn't feel the need to dress fancy for Bolanle.

Don't get me wrong, he is handsome and attractive and every girl that sees him right now, would want to date him. But my heart was set for one person, Genesis.

I stood in front of his table, as he looked at me with stunned eyes. He looked around searching for something, I guessed Chidinma.

"She isn't coming, right?" He asked, his voiced laced with disappointment.

"Nope," I said popping the 'p', then sat on the comfy fancy chair. "Should we order something?"

"Whatever you want," He said in a bored tone.

"Hey," I slapped his arm playfully, "There's a beautiful and gorgeous girl across the table that's keeping you company."

He just looked at me with a straight face, as I decided we order a light meal. A large plate of fried rice and two turkey on top of it just for me, and a hamburger for Bolanle. I wanted to ask if that would be enough for him since he was a man, but he ignored me. I mean, there were varieties of swallows and soups, but he decided to have a hamburger.

Bolanle signaled a waitress, and showed her our orders.

"I'll be right back," The waitress said smiling at us, before leaving for the kitchen.

"She's cute, isn't she?" I smiled at Bolanle, as I pointed at the waitress that just left us.

"Stop it," He said as he scrolled down his phone.

"So," I started, making him to avert his attention from his phone.

"I wasn't lying when I said Genesis father sent us," He said looking at me.

"Did you actually meet the man?" I asked him.

"An old man with thick white hairs. Fat and has a big tummy." He described sarcastically. "Does that answer your questions?"

"Very," I mumbled to myself.

"Can you think of any reason, like why he would do this to his own son?" I asked Bolanle.

He dropped his phone on the Golden table, then sighed. "Family problem?"

"They don't have a problem. Genesis is actually at peace in his house."

"You called it a house, not a home." Bolanle deadpanned.

"He's at peace!" I snapped at him, making the waitress with our orders in her hands, stumble back a bit out of fright.Β  "Sorry,"Β  I quickly apologized, as she placed our meal on the table.

"Enjoy your meal," She bowed slightly, then walked away to another table.

"Actually," I said as I looked at Bolanle. "He wasn't really at peace at first." I placed a spoon full of rice in my mouth, then chewed slowly. "He was actually sleeping with different ladies, and drinks were his best friend. There was also this time, when he came home drunk. And once I was about leaving his room, he started mumbling the word 'mummy'. But, I don't see what any of this has got to do with his father."Β

"Me too," He shrugged as he took a bite of his hamburger.

"How did you afford all this by the way?" I asked him.

"Killing you wasn't cheep," He smirked at me. "He was so mad when he saw that we killed the wrong girl. He called Scorpion, yelling the shit out of him."

"What did he do?" I asked him, "I-I mean, Scorpion."

"Nothing. He actually said we picked a girl and shoved her in the car, and also killed her. It wasn't our fault that the old man didn't give us a picture of you."

"So you guys would have actually killed me?!" I gasped.

"You can take Chidinma as your saving grace," He said as he picked up his glass of wine, and gulped the content down his throat.

"And she, should take you as her saving grace." I smiled at him. "Did they know you saved Chidinma?"

"No," was his short reply. "And I hope they don't find out."

Buzz! Buzz!

I looked down at my phone, to see an incoming call from Genesis. I answered the call and pressed it against my ear.

"Genesis! Finally, I've missed you." I said excitedly. I haven't heard from him for two days straight.

"I've come up with a decision," Genesis said firmly on the phone. "Where are you?"

"With Bolanle," I said to him. "We um..... We are discussing about your father's case."

"I'll need everyone to meet me at the station tomorrow, and don't forget to tell him to bring his phone."

"Station, Why?" I asked him.

"Chidinma's right," Genesis said in a cold tone. "To get to bottom of things, we need to know why my dad's doing allΒ  of this. And the police, is going to help us with that. I'm not going to start throwing allegations. There need to be thorough investigation."

"What if he's guilty?" I asked Genesis. I know my guts so much. And right now, my guts was telling me that Bolanle was actually telling us the truth. I don't know about Daniel right now, but I'm sure Bolanle wasn't lying.

"I'll pass the information to everyone," I said once I knew that Genesis won't answer my question.

"Talk to you later," He said, then ended the call.

"So, what did your so loving boyfriend tell you?" Bolanle asked sarcastically. I simply rolled my eyes as I grasped my cup of wine.

"He said he is going to the station, and you should also come with the phone that holds the evidence."

"Fuck no!" Bolanle snapped all of a sudden.

"Why?" I creased my brows at him.

"I'm not going to the fucking police!" He yelled ones more. "I'm a hard criminal, that have killed people. Why would you expect me to go to the one place every criminal runs from."

I sighed as I closed my eyes to think for a second. "Alright, you'd give me your phone. Chidinma and I would cook up a good story and hope the police buys it." I said to him. "I'm doing this cause you helped my best friend. But if I ever see you go back to crime, I won't hesitate to hand you over to the police. Promise?"

"Whatever," He sighed as he gulped down his remaining drink. "Promise."
