Anger rose in him like a tide as he threw his phone on the floor. He smashed the end of his cigarette burning his palm while running his fingers through silky locks in frustration. He took off his blazer and threw it on the set of sofas that were placed at corners. The sleeves wrinkled as he rolled his shirt up to his elbows. The vein running up his neck was tensed as his jaw tightened. His hair was unruly and as dark as the midnight sky. He pressed the bridge of his nose and his forehead in frustration.

"Mr. Maheshwari," Naina murmured as her eyes were fixated on the broken pieces of his phone. She glanced at him who had an appearance of a raging lion and gulped in fear but at the very next moment, he walked up to her slowly and pulled her closer to him wrapping his arms around her petty waist joined his forehead with hers trying to calm himself, looking straight into her chocolatey eyes. Naina's breath hitched due to the proximity, but at that moment concern overpowered her nervousness. She raised her hands towards his face and touched it gently.

"Are you okay?" She asked him with genuine concern laced in her voice. He did not reply, pulling her closer to him and digging his face in her crook of the neck. Naina pursed her lips as she felt his warm breath fanning against her nape. His big, strong arms seemed very protective when wrapped around her frail body, pulling her as much close he could as at the moment she was his solace. She felt her legs giving up and the world around her melting away, feeling nauseous due to the proximity. Her grip on his shirt's collar tightened as she did not wish him to leave her. Despite the heaviness in her stomach, her heart fluttered at the feeling of her body pressed against his. She sunk into the warmth of his side and ruffled his silky hairs while he held her waist protectively. His hug was stronger than anything she had ever known.

He held her close as if holding her wasn't quite close enough to him. He wanted to feel every ounce of hers pressed against him. He needed her at the moment, she was his peace. Her lavender smell of hair was making him go crazy. All his anguish vanished in seconds and all he could think about was her. His chain of thoughts broke as she pushed him away with slight force. He was startled by her move but smirked seeing her face which had touched the darkest hue of red.

"Why were you so angry?" She questioned still stammering, not able to overcome his sweet tortures.

"It's better if we don't talk about this right now," Sameer said, getting back to his usual rough tone. Naina stared at him for a few seconds and simply nodded her head a bit in a way of understanding. She walked a bit forward and bent down to pick up the broken pieces of his phone.

"Khaza."He called her and gestured to her not to do it. She, being stubborn, did not listen to him and continued to collect the broken pieces of his phone. Sameer sighed and went into the bathroom to take shower.

Sameer laid on the couch as he took off his shirt while his eyes were fixated on his wife's face which displayed innocence and cuteness. Sameer moved closer to her, touching her bubbly cheeks lightly as something urged him to do like that. Though she was already awake, she opened her eyes as if from a deep sleep and smiled which she wore since morning. Her voice tumbled out softly, "Do you need something?" Sameer simply nodded his head in the way of no and drew back his hand which was placed at her cheeks. She missed his warmth, his big palm placed on her skin felt nice, she thought to herself. She looked at Sameer who had rested his hands below his head, staring at the ceiling. She shifted towards him and wrapped her arm around his waist, resting her head on his chest. She tilted her head to look at him, wanting to ask him something but feared his reaction.

"Speak," Sameer spoke, making her jerk off her thoughts.

"Do you kill people?" She questioned him with a low voice. Sameer just hummed in response.

"Why do you kill people? Killing somebody is a sin and you should not do such things. You are a kind-hearted person so, why do you kill people? It's a bad thing and you shouldn't do that." Naina spoke and paused as she looked at him trying to figure out his reaction but his face was void of any expressions, making her scared of his next move.

"I don't kill innocent and whom I kill is worth it." He replied frigidly yet his voice was calm.

"But killing anybody is wrong." Naina  argued.

"Killing my enemies is a must, else they will return stronger, with better plans to destroy me. Ending a bad thing is better than forwarding things. But, I promise you I won't kill anyone innocent." He replied and nodded her head in a way of understanding.

"Mr. Maheshwari." She called him again at which he hummed in response.

"Why doesn't Nanu stay with us?" She asked.

"Because he does not want to stay with you who keeps on asking unnumberable questions." He replied, rolling his eyes, making her frown.

"I am serious Mr. Maheshwari, I want to know why Nanu does not come to this mansion? You should have called him. Instead of living alone in such a big mansion, he could live with us. I will tell Nanu about this and will request him to stay with us." Naina spoke, her voice trailing at the end as she murmured things to herself in determination to call Nanu the next day.

"He won't come," Sameer replied in a calm yet cold voice. Before she could speak or ask anything Sameer wrapped his hand around her waist and turned to lay on his stomach with his face digging in her crook of the neck. She gasped at his sudden action but then a shy smile touched her lips.

"But why Nanu will not come?" She questioned again not understanding why Sameer said such words.

"Sleep Khaza." He replied.

"But answer my question first, why won't.."

"I said sleep!" He said in a harsh authoritative tone that echoed in the room. She trembled in fear, clinging to him, and preferred staying quiet than asking him anything at the moment.

"Good Morning!" Naina greeted Kabir in a cheerful voice as she entered Sameer's cabin.

"Good Morning Naina." He responded and took a tray from her hand, placing it on the table.

"Mr. Maheshwari, good morning." She spoke at which Sameer simply nodded his head and got back to work. Naina pulled her lips into a sad pout while Kabir shook his head in disbelief.

"Mr. Maheshwari I got this photo. She is so beautiful, who is she?" Naina asked as she showed Sameer a photo making his eyes widen in shock. Sameer snatched it from her hand and kissed it slightly. "I have warned you to stay away from my family, don't you understand this! Stay away from my family." His muscles tensed as he yelled and walked towards her holding her by the shoulder. Naina winced as he held her shoulder with his steel-like grip. She looked at him only to see something in that shout, a pain behind it. She watched his eyes and knew that this anger was nothing but a shield for covering his pains.

"Have you lost your senses?" Kabir screeched as he pushed him away with whatever strength he had. He touched Naina's shoulder which had a bloodshot red mark in concern. Sameer jerked off his hand, not wanting him to touch his wife.

"You are insane Mr. Sameer Maheshwari! Did you manhandle her because she just asked about this photo of Vishaka Aunty? You are asking her to stay away from family which is even hers now. She is a major part of your family because she's your wife and you cannot behave in this way with her! Do you get that, at least respect her and stop treating her as a slave? You don't have emotions, you don't love but people other than you do have feelings. She has already adjusted to your lifestyle without complaining about things and you can't even give her the respect she deserves. Sameer you are not the only person who had a bad past, she has a past, even I have a disturbing past. Think beyond all this and Naina you won't stay with this man in his room." Kabir snapped Sameer and held Naina's hand, taking her away from the room.

"She is my wife, she will stay with me and you have no fucking rights to decide where my wife will stay." Sameer roared and was about to pull Naina towards himself but Kabir held her hand tight glaring at him in anger. He had an appearance of a male model adorned with a fair complexion. His prominent jaw curved gracefully and the strength of his neck showed in the twining cords of muscle that shaped his entire body. Kabir had a pair of hazel eyes which added to his charming personality. He was an inch shorter than Sameer. Naina was just staring at Kabir in bewilderment, she had never seen him angry nor had she seen him abusing.

"Wife, huh! You never consider her to be a part of your family and at the very next moment you are showing up the rights of being a husband. You are an asshole who just wants things to be done the way you want, you may control the world but when things are about Naina you need to be more human, treat her like a human being, and not the way you punish, scream on your employees and men. I care for Naina and cannot let her live with you, at least not until things are sorted." Kabir replied to him.

"And who the hell are you to decide what I must do and not? We are legally wed for about a few weeks and you have just come two days before. I know everything about my Naina and she will stay with me, in my room. So you should stay away from her." Sameer spoke, gritting his teeth and looking at Naina who was staring at Kabir and him with a confused look.

"Please don't fight because of me." She spoke in a low voice.

"What I said is final, you won't stay with this man Naina," Kabir spoke, clenching his jaw in anger.

"She won't stay anywhere except 'our' room! And this is my mansion, I have the authority to decide everything. My wife will stay with me and you are nobody to decide anything about her." Sameer said as he held him by his collar looking at Kabir with a piercing look. Kabir too held Sameer by his collar giving him a deathly glare.

"Why are you both fighting? Kabir, I understand you are concerned for me but Mr. Maheshwari is not that bad, he takes care of me and he had asked me before to stay away from his family. It was my fault that I did not obey him I did not know that the lady was related to his family." Naina intervened in their fight and pushed them away fearing that the very next moment they would hit each other.

"Don't try to defend him, Naina," Kabir spoke before he could speak anything Sameer pulled Naina by her hand and took her out of his cabin glaring at Kabir who too responded the same.

Naina entered the room but stiffened at the position hearing a thud sound. Sameer was breaking and throwing things in anger, she wanted to stop him but feared to do so. She silently started keeping things that he had thrown in their respective place. Sameer stalled as he noticed Naina present in the room. He sighed in frustration, running his fingers through his hair.

"Sorry." She murmured.

"Why are you sorry?" He questioned her, narrowing his eyes.

"Kabir and you fought because of me. I am sorry for that but Kabir loves and respects you a lot. Please talk to him." Sameer looked at her and stepped towards her. He held her hands, he kissed them gently eyeing her. "Sorry." He mumbled, she pursed her lips and took her hand off his grip.

"I behave impulsively, Naina. I never want to hurt you but I always end up yelling or taking out my frustration on you." He said, she moistened her lips and stared up at him.

"I understand." She uttered and went to study. Sameer kept looking at her before he left the room.

"Kabir, after all, he is your friend. I agree what you said was right but I have seen him even taking care of Naina." Shrikha said as he held his palm. Kabir did not answer her while sipping his drink.

"Sameer," Shrikha murmured as she saw him coming towards them. Kabir looked at him and then averted his gaze.

"Sameer, you and Kabir sort out the matter. I wanted to talk with Naina. I haven't talked to her for a long time so I will have to leave." Shrikha excused herself. Sameer poured a drink for himself in a glass and glanced at Kabir who was simply staring at the clear sky.

"I have a press conference to attend, have you prepared all the legal documents?" Sameer spoke, breaking the silence which had prevailed.

"I had submitted those documents yesterday. Learn to talk or start conversations, Mr. Maheshwari." Kabir replied with a sarcastic laugh.

"Don't call me that," Sameer said sternly.

"Why can only Naina call you that?" Kabir asked grinning while Sameer glared at him.

"Will you ever change?" Sameer asked him as he shook his head in disbelief.

"I guess never." Kabir replied, chuckling a bit, and then continued, "I am sorry for talking in that way but I hope even you don't disrespect Naina in that way. She is your wife after all." Kabir said at which Sameer hummed in agreement.

"I am so sorry too." Sameer apologized while Kabir laughed sensing his hesitation to apologize. Sameer looked at his vibrating phone which was placed on the table in which Shrikha's name flashed.

"Sa-meer, Naina, she is not there in your room. She is not even in the mansion." Sameer stood up in jerk as he listened to her panicked voice. Where has Naina gone? He shuddered thinking about the deathly possibilities.
