** warning: long chapter ish **

The house was filled with the low hum of the living room TV, where Abby and Isaac were engrossed in their own world. Mike, bag packed for his final shift at Freddy's Pizzeria, decided to check on (Y/N) before he left.

The door to his room was slightly ajar, and he entered with careful silence of someone not wanting to disturb the peace, knowing he'd been in for it if be did.

As he stepped into the dimly lit room, he spotted (Y/N)'s form, tucked into his sheets, fast asleep still wearing his clothes. He needed to see her once last time before going to the shift, not knowing if he would make it out or not.

A tender smile crossed Mike's face, and he approached her with a sense of both longing and regret. She lay there, bathed in the gentle glow of the bedside lamp, her features softened in slumber.

Kneeling down beside the bed, Mike couldn't help but marvel at the tranquility that seemed to grace (Y/N)'s face. She looked so different from the usual stress he associated with her, and he found himself captivated by the simple beauty she exuded.

A soft sigh escaped him, carrying with it a mixture of emotions. His hand rose, delicately brushing away the strands of hair that fell across her face.

His touch lingered, tracing a path down her cheek, along her jawline. He paused, savoring the moment, feeling the warmth of her skin under his fingertips.

In a choked whisper, Mike began to speak, pouring out his apologies once more, "M'sorry for causing you pain, for the fear you experienced on the shifts, sweetheart." His vision burnt rubbing his thumb over her cheekbone, "I feel like such a failure not being able to shield you and Abby for the dangers in that place."

A single tear welled in his eye, falling onto (Y/N)'s cheek. She stirred slightly, a faint murmur escaping her lips, but she remained in the embrace of dreams. The sight of her leaning into his touch brought a moment of solace to Mike's heavy heart.

Swallowing the lump in his throat, he continued to gaze at her, as if committing the image to memory. Leaning down, he pressed a tender kiss against her parted lips savouring the feel of her unmoving ones on his.

"I love you." Escaped in a hushed breath onto her mouth, an admission of the depth of his feelings. He pulled back a few inches from her, cradling the side of her face watching how her nose twitched, and he whispered, "I promise to return as soon as the shift ends. No sooner, no later."

As Mike stood up from his knelt position on the floor, leaving a final hard kiss on her forehead, he couldn't help but linger for a moment, drinking in the sight of her peaceful form beneath his sheets.

With a heavy heart, he turned away, not daring to look back, and left the room, heading toward the door, his steps filled with the internal struggle of wanting to stay.

Opening the front door, Mike ignored the world around him. He slipped into his car, a silent witness to his conflicted thoughts.

The engine roared to life, and he began to drive along the familiar road leading to Freddy's Pizzeria, steeling himself for what could be his final shift, at least for the time being.

The weight of the sleeping pills in his backpack served, as a heavy reminder of the inevitable disappointment (Y/N) would face upon discovering them. But had no choice if he wanted answers, and he needed them. No matter the cost.

Yet, with determination, he drove forward into the night, hoping to navigate the challenges that awaited him, all while carrying the echoes of (Y/N)'s peaceful slumber in his heart.

He arrived at the parking lot that was brighter since the sun hadn't gone down yet, getting out of his car carrying the sleeping pills bag in one hand, and the keys to the pizzeria in his other one.

Unlocking the front door came easier to him now from the many times he's been inside, but it felt different from usually not having the Diaz girl right beside him, who would cling onto him all the time.

It couldn't stop him now however from achieving his goal in finding out who took his brother, and charged forward through the eerily quiet inside, all the way into the camera's room.

Mike placed down the packet holding the pills inside them onto the desk with the screen's on it, and his bag beside him on the chair. He took a deep breath slipping on his headphones to the walk-man, that was also placed on the desk playing the soothing hum of nature sounds already.

Without using any water with the pill, he threw one onto his mouth to swallow it down harshly, eyes glued to the security camera screens, or the tapped photo of him, and the three others back home that he brought with him, all smiling happily in the picture.

His eyes grown heavier now as time passes by listening to the sounds, and because of the pill taking effect also. He leans his head back against the chair, exhaling slowly as his lids go to flutter close, and was instantly transported back to the reoccurring dream.

Inside the dream he becomes conscious hearing the familiar sounds of his parents behind him talking, and turned around seeing them sat at the wooden table around the camping site.

His father was holding up Garrett like an airplane around in the air, and playfully dumped him onto the seat beside him, "Hey, Buddy." He greets the older Mike, who was still frozen in shock watching this play out in front of him.

"Well, don't just stand there." His mother encouraged with a welcoming smile, motioning to the food all over the table covered by a red cloth, "Dig in."

Yet Mike still doesn't move from his spot behind them, gazing over the scene that wasn't what happened in his memory, "This... this isn't.." He stuttered out his words, "this isn't how it happened. This isn't real."

"But it could be." A younger boy's voice suddenly spoke up from another direction, causing Mike to spin around seeing the five familiar children there, and the blonde one in front talking to him.

His gaze grows sharp spotting something on the blonde's wrist that looked awfully familiar to (Y/N)'s bands, "What is this?" He questioned lowly, "This isn't what I asked for."

Cassidy, the blonde haired kid shakes his head and raised a knowing brown up at Mike, "But it's what you want."

Mike instantly tried to proset hearing that, and lifted up his hand to grip his shirt's material alarmed, "No. I just, I just want to find the man that-"

"You're lying." Cassidy states truthfully talking over the older male, running his blue eyes over Mike's on edge features standing in front, "You want to save Garrett. That's why you're really here. To change what happened. To go back."

Mike pursed his lips in thought pondering for a second, not knowing he was being lead into a trap by Golden Freddy, "But I can't." His voice rasped out hesitantly, "He's gone. Her parents are. They're all gone."

"Really?" Cassidy protemed in a question, raising his finger to point at the scene behind Mike, making him turn to see his parents, and Garrett staring at him patiently, "You can have this dream every night. You can be together with him again. Like before."

Mike began to slowly walk over to his dead family that looked alive and well now, looking right back at him softly, "How?" He asked arriving at the head of the picnic table.

"Well, at first we thought we wanted your sister..." Cassidy trailed off in a creepy whisper sounding through the entire dream, a wide grin across his lips that was more threatening then anything, "and you said we could have anything we wanted... We want (Y/N)."

Mike straight away tensed up hearing his beloveds name fly out of the kids mouth, a protective scowl taking form over his brows, "(Y/N)?" He wavered out bending down in front of Garrett, no longer thinking very well.

"They love her, Mike." Garett's sweet voice began to tell his older brother, and tilted his head to the side, making a curl full onto his forehead more, "And I'm sure she loves them. They can be a happy family together."

The male was getting pulled more into a trance like state, even inside his mind, showing that Cassidy's manipulating plans were working, and he had no clue that was the case.

"You've seen her taking care of them." His mother's reassuring voice spoke up next, flashing the teary eyed Mike a fond smile when in reality it was evil, "You've seen how they would be a better fit for her. It's time to let your fantasy with her go, sweetheart."

Mike's bottom lip trembles knowing his mothers words were true, sniffling loudly as tears welled up in his eyes turning back around to Garrett. Mike knew he wasn't good enough for (Y/N), and never will be no matter how much convincing she give him. He was nothing, and she was everything.

Cassidy looked triumph behind the male's conflicted figure, sensing what Mike had already picked as no words were needed by the emotion on his face. The blonde smirked creepily now, realising his plan from the beginning was about to work, and conclude.

Mike sniffles some more reaching up to brush back Garette's hair back, but paused mid way getting a flash of Abby's smiling face in his vision holding onto a laughing Issac, followed by one with (Y/N) inside his room, tangled in the sheets together after a long day at their jobs.

Her nose crinkled from how bright she was smiling, head being placed right next to his on the pillow, and brushed back the locks off his forehead gently, "Welcome back." She murmured softly, leaning into his touch on her.

He ran his fingers through her own locks, coming up to twirl a strand of it around his finger fondly gazing into her (E/C) eyes, and breathed out, "I'm home."

Whatever trance Mike was pulled into was instantly snapped remembering the most important people in his life, and removed his hand from Garrett's head, "No. No, this is wrong-" He stumbles out rapidly, standing up to face the five children, "I don't want this. Listen-"

His words got caught in his throat when he saw that the all disappeared, leaving him alone in the forest environment without any clues. He frantically searched the area for them, "I made a mistake! Please, I don't want this! Do you hear me?!"

Nothing was heard back in response from any direction in the dream, making him grow agitated and his gut to sink realising what might happen to the girl he loved more than anything. He basically signed away her life, without even knowing it.

His fingers grip onto the edges of his locks tugging them roughly, and cursed himself out, "Don't you dare lay one finger on (Y/N)!" He yelled his warning aggressively, trying to pin point where the hidden children were, "You leave her alone, you hear me?!"

One of the kids swiped past Mike had top speed, catching him off guard feeling the breeze blow on him. Another one ran behind him without him catching the child, completely throwing him off his sense of direction.

This continued in many different directions around him, which had him a few times turning to where he felt the breeze of their run against his back.

The tauntingly quiet whispers of (Y/N)'s name began to echo through Mike's ears, and it had him yelling out warnings some more, feeling helpless stuck inside of his dream, "Stay away from her!"

Something ran past him again lifting up their hand to claw his stomach, causing Mike to groan in pain touching the place. His hands shook spotting the blood now tinting his skin, as a gapping wound was on his side now.

Another hit followed behind him by the little girl wearing yellow, Mike flinching in on himself feeling the pain in his lower back. He continued to gain wounds all over his body one after the other, as the whispers of her name began to chant louder also.

Heavy breathes escaped his parted lips trying to calm himself down, cradling his sore shoulder that he knew was bleeding, and glanced around rapidly to spot the evil kids inflicting the injuries onto him.

The child having a hook on his hand came running past Mike next, getting down low to scrap the sharp side of the metal across Mike's leg, causing his knee to buckle and land against the floor, noises of pain leaving him.

"(Y/N).... (Y/N)..... (Y/N)....." The chants of her name overlapping each other got louder, and Mike wheezed out some air gripping onto his shoulder in a fetal position on the ground, praying that he got to her before anything bad would happen to her.

His dark eyes look up to the seemingly frozen blue sky above the trees, trying to block out the whispers echoing through his ears, and focused on trying to knock himself out of this dream like trap.

When he came to it outside in the real world, his eyes fluttered open with a stoical look not realising where he was, and heard the sound of something metal whirring in front of him.

His stomach dropped to his stomach finally seeing what was coming towards him, and how he was trapped in a chair with buckles around him, just like how he was in the dream, but this time had physical restraints.

A metal spring lock was coming towards him from the machine he was placed in, Mike trying to move around in the hold looking into the red, soulless eyes of the mask that he knew would give him nightmares years to come.

Mike shuffled around in the chair the best he could, trying to break free from the buckles around his wrist, but knew that wouldn't work. So using his pinky he unscrewed the pin holding the restraints together, quickly pulling that out as fast as he could.

Once he got one hand free from the metal, he panicked just feeling the spring lock grazing his skin on his cheek, and moved fast to press the button on the chair, successfully getting himself out of the mess.

He landed onto the ground harshly with another pained exclaim escaping him, shuffling away the best he could away from the machine, where he watched the spring lock destroy the chair's head he was just in.

When his back had hit something solid behind him on the wall, he turned his head slowly to spot Max's dead body in a suit, making his stomach churn some more, glad (Y/N), and the other two weren't here to see this.

Some more mingled up bodies were placed on the other side of where he was, all looking more messed up than the last one, which sent other bad feeling stiring in Mike's stomach, itching to get out of there.

He pushed himself up with a yell from the floor, limping now holding onto his wounded knee with a hand, and tried his best to hobble out of the room, pushing the door open quickly and continued on down the hallway.

The lights hanging from the ceiling were flickering now also, as he moved as fast as he could down the hallway, constantly looking back behind him to see if anything, or anyone was following.

Mike spotted the exit sign above the door that was at the end of the hallway, picking up his speed gritting his teeth to ignore the pain, and ended up pressing his hand onto the door handle, trying to push it open forcefully.

However it wasn't budging no matter how hard he used what strength he had left to push it, and felt a shiver travel through his spin hearing a playful sea shanty calling behind him.

"Dun da dum dum dum dum...."

The light flickering only gave Mike a small glimpse of the figure of Foxy standing at the end of the direction he came from, which had him trying to push the door open more frantic now without looking back.

Suddenly Foxy starts to speed down the hallway towards him, his hook raised to do some damage, as Mike lets out a scream of fear still trying to bust down the door, before everything went dark in his vision.

The night had draped Willowbrook in a quiet shroud, with only the distant hum of the sleeping town murmuring in the air.

In Abby's room, the soft glow of a desk lamp illuminated the space as she and Isaac sat together, immersed in the world of drawing. Their laughter echoed through the room, a comforting melody in the stillness of the night.

Meanwhile, (Y/N) lays fast asleep in Mike's bed tangled in the sheets the smelled like him, seeking refuge from the worry that gnawed at her. Her concerns about Mike's safety during the pizzeria shift had driven her to the haven of his room.

Hoping the familiar surroundings would soothe her unease, she closed her eyes with the intention of finding solace in the realm of dreams. Yet something told her, she would find the completely opposite.

However, the dream that unfolded was far from a peaceful escape. In the ethereal landscape, (Y/N) found herself standing before the camping site she had come to associate with the ominous events of Garett's kidnapping. The dream had transported her to the unsettling reality she wished to forget.

She surveyed her surroundings with a mix of trepidation and confusion, unsure of what this dream foretold. As she wandered through the dreamlike camping site, a sudden chill tingled down her spine. Instinctively, she felt the weight of unseen eyes upon her, a sensation that sent shivers through her being.

Turning slowly, she confronted the gaze of five children, their eyes fixated on her with a haunting intensity. The leader among them, a blonde-haired boy, took a tentative step forward. (Y/N) recoiled, her heart pounding in her chest as a wave of fear washed over her.

In an attempt to ease her apprehension, the blonde-haired child raised his hands up, "It's alright, we mean no harm." He spoke with a gentleness that contradicted the eerie atmosphere, "I promise, we will never hurt someone so vital to us, and to your parents."

(Y/N)'s eyes widened at the mention of her long-lost parents, a revelation that injected a dose of skepticism into her already uneasy state.

She narrowed her eyes, suspicious of the blonde child who seemed to know more than he let on. Gathering her courage, she questioned him, "What's the supposed to me?" Demanding an explanation for the cryptic reference to her missing parents.

The dream world around her seemed to hold its breath, awaiting the response that could unravel the mysteries hidden within her subconscious.

His blue eyes flashed with something she could figure out for a second, until it went away into a softer look, and smiled widely that showed his canines to her.

"Do you want to find out?" He answered back in a question, moving silently up to her tense figure, "Want to know why your parents left? Why we know so much about you?"

She swallowed the lump in her throat watching the other kids stay in their spots, the smiles not leaving their faces for a second, "I-I don't understand-" She stuttered out turning to the blonde, "Why am I here in the first place?"

Cassidy chuckled softly that sounded more mocking than anything, folding his hands behind his back trailing around her slowly in the middle.

"We've been watching you for a long time, (Y/N)." He spoke her name more eerily, sending a chill down her spine, "Both you, and Issac. But mostly you, since you interest, and appreciate us."

She gives him an incredulously look, her fingers twitching against her side as she places her hands onto her chest, cradling them close feeling her fast heart beat under them.

"That's not answering any of my questions." She stated a bit irritated, taking another step back away from Cassidy, and the other kids still watching them with smiles, "It's making me wanna ask more, if I'm being honest."

He simply shrugged his shoulders like it was obvious, and tilted his head to the side uncannily, "You won't be getting all that you want," He starts off coming to stop in front of her, as the other children come up to form a line behind him to cage her in, "but that doesn't mean we can't try to give you what you want."

"What I want...?" She trailed off for a second glancing down to her shoes, and furrowed her brows. All the came to her mind was, making sure Issac got to become a lawyer in the future, Abby growing up without a worry, and getting to marry Mike eventually, and live a happy life with them all.

Cassidy saw her expression change from confusion to a conflicted one, and he instantly knew what was causing that, "Mike can't give you what you want." He voiced knowingly, his rage growing by the moment wanting his plan to succeed, "But, we can. We can be your family, and give you the answers you desperately need. If not for you, for Issac."

Her head snapped up hearing the last bit with her gaze growing sharp on the kid, and felt a hit of guilt enter her heart. She always tried to include and think about her twin, but she completely forgot about how he would react to missing out the chance of finding out what happened to their parents.

But (Y/N) also knew that Issac couldn't care less about them, his vendetta against them that's gone on for as long as she could remember. He didn't want to know since they left nothing behind for them, expect for each other, and he didn't want anything to do with them.

"You don't have to figure out your answer now," Cassidy's to of a sweet voice brings her back out of the thoughts, his face half hidden by the shadow passing over the sun above them, "we have plenty of time together."

She was to busy focusing on trying to ease her fast breathing out, so she didn't have a panic attack in the middle of dream, she completely missed the way his eyes gleamed with malice, accentuating the sinister smile etched on his face.

"Everything is a mess right now," She began heaving a sigh, running her sweaty palms down the pants she was wearing hearing her heart beat echo in her ears like drums, "but one thing is clear. I need answers before anything else."

A cold, chilling smile crept onto his features now hearing the words, making her uneasy watching him, "Of course. You'll get those." He hummed softly holding out his hand for her to take, "However, first you need to wake up, Miss (Y/N)."

Her brows furrowed confused suddenly feeling something dripping down from her nose, and the way her fingers were twitching more by her sides. She didn't care move from her spot in front of the five, now experiencing fear she's never felt before at how intently they were staring at her.

Cassidy gives her a welcoming look by nodding her head at his hand, outstretching it more for her to take, shooting a look to the other children to stay back for now behind him.

Swallowing the lump in her throat harshly, she lifted up her trembling hand to place onto his smaller one, and instantly felt a firm squeeze, that had her winching from how much force was behind it.

Back in the real world once touching Cassidy's hand, (Y/N)'s eyes snapped open, her gasp echoing in the quiet room as she shook off the remnants of a strange and unsettling dream. Mike's blankets were thrown off her body, and were huddled up at the end of the bed.

The image of those five children lingered in her mind, casting a shadow over her thoughts. As she tried to make sense of the dream, her hand moved instinctively to her face, and that's when she felt the wet warmth.

A gasp escaped her lips as she saw the blood staining her fingers. Panic surged through her, and she stumbled off Mike's bed, leaving behind a disheveled nest of blankets.

The taste of fear clung to her as she hurried to the bathroom, the harsh light revealing the crimson stains on her hands, and felt more dripping down from her nostrils.

The sound of the front door opening and closing loudly cut through the silence, injecting a new layer of tension into the atmosphere. It creaked loudly once it was being pushed back something, and a loud thump was followed next from in the living room.

Her heart quickened as she strained to identify the source. Was it Jane? The absence of the TV's murmur left her with a disconcerting sense of unease, as she could no longer hear the annoying Aunt inside the house.

"(Y/N)! Come out here, quick!" The familiar sweet voice of Abby echoed through the hallway, in a way that had the Diaz girls worry intensifying, nothing like the sound of it.

Without a second thought, she rushed out of Mike's room with her nose fixed up, still clad in his clothes, her steps quick and determined. The urgency in Abby's tone propelled her forward, each call of her name intensifying the knot of worry in (Y/N)'s stomach.

Her eyes caught a glimpse of Abby's figure slipping past the half opened door, her face shown to be smiling which had the older girl calling out again, "Wait! Abbs, you shouldn't be going out-"

Blindly grabbing one of Mike's large jumpers off the coat wrack next to the door, she slips that over her freezing self quiet quickly, and felt more safer with it one, as it remined her of him smelling his familiar cologne.

In the living room only lit up by the dull lamp, she didn't see the fallen figure of Jane displayed out on the carpet behind the couch. Her heels were off also, looking like she took a nasty fall from whatever had caused it.

As she went to reach for the door handle knowing Issac would be alright in the house, she heard the familiar voice of Cassidy talking behind her softly, "I know where Abby went. I can show you where she is, if you want."

How in the world is he.... she trailed off in her thoughts nervously, fingers grazing the door handle as she pulled them back and didn't turn around fully yet, "How am I supposed to trust you when you're not really here?"

The chuckle that Cassidy left out sent a dangerous chill down her spine, only hearing shuffling behind her until she felt warmth wrap around her forearm, "Oh, I am very much here, Miss. (Y/N)."

Her eyes divert from the door to the blonde seeing him smiling kindly, and had his hands clinging into her arm, causing a horrible feeling to develop in her stomach, gulping hardly.

Over in the corner of the room near the kitchen where Issac's kitchen supplies were, was a match destroyed version of Freddy's suit that was actually called Golden Freddy, and it belonged to the kid trying to drag (Y/N) into a death trap.

Gold Freddy's one working eye that glowed blue stared at her closely, his massive head tilting down the slightest in greeting that had her gulping some more, and looking back to Cassidy beside her near the entrance of the house.

"C'mon, don't you want to find Abby?" The blonde innocently asked with a head tilt up to her, hiding his true intentions behind his friendly act, and pointed outside of the door she lingered to push open.

She pursed her lips feeling like she was losing her mind now, hearing the faint sound of footsteps outside followed by a car starting up. She needed to know if Mike and Abby were alright, so if trusting this ghost kid would give her those answers, than so bit it.

"Silly Aunt Jane. She fell asleep." Cassidy commented with a cheeky smile leading the girl out of the house, a dark glint taking over his eyes staring back inside the house, knowing his plan was near the endgame now.

However, what (Y/N) failed to realize was that Abby, safe and sound, was still inside the house, sitting in her room with a pacing Issac trying to get hold of Mike at his work, unaware of with dangers his twins was in.

From the doorway of her room, Abby heard (Y/N)'s frantic search, her small frown etching confusion across her face. With a shrug, Abby returned to her drawings, oblivious to the chaos that seemed to follow the Diaz girls every step.
