"DUDE, YOU'RE TOTALLY FALLING for my neighbor," Benny teased his friend. He elbowed his arm incessantly towards Thea and she nearly was about to slap him, until he lifted his hands in surrender, remembering how scary Thea can be whenever her temper was being pushed over the edge.

"No I am not, you're just imagining things," Thea said as a matter of factly. Benny scoffed in disbelief and stared at his best friend with a look that screamed 'you're in denial.'

"Yeah, sure." Thea and Benny spent an hour at his apartment, the girl getting reacquainted with his home, but they eventually went back to Thea's house so she could get a swimsuit that was appropriate for the beach.

As Thea was in her room getting her belongings, Benny was downstairs talking to Eleanor and Tony. Benny was a part of Thea's family, just like she was of his.

She put on her baby blue bikini that fit her body perfectly and put on top her pastel magenta swimsuit coverup. Once she secured the appropriate items for the beach, Thea and Benny were on their way to the beach, getting ready to bask in the Los Angeles summer heat.

On the beach, Benny decided to join Daniel in playing soccer, kicking up the warm sand in the air. Thea noticed how they were dangerously close to a few girls her age who seemed to be getting the granular materialΒ  in their nicely styled curly hair.

Thea went over to the girls and smiled softly before waving at them. "I'm sorry about those boys."

The blonde girl chuckled lightly and looked up at Thea, her eyes widening at the sight of the girl. "Boys will be boys, right? Also, aren't you Heather? Everyone has been talking about you."

Suddenly, Thea's heart dropped slightly. People were talking about her? It made the girl nervous and she started to fidget with the rings that were wrapped around her fingers. Back in Boston,Β  people circulated rumors in her old school which was one of the reasons thatΒ  provoked the Cabrera family to move back to Los Angeles.

However, the other reason was more morbid.

"P-People have been talking about me?" Thea asked nervously.

"Oh, it's not what you think! It's just then whenever someone new comes to our school, everyone seems to talk. I promise you it's nothing bad. I'm Ali by the way and that's Susan and Barbara."

"I'm Heather, but I prefer Thea. It's nice to meet you all." Ali patted the spot next to her and scooted her body slightly so there was room for Thea to sit.

"So Thea, you got your eyes hooked on anyone?" Barbara asked bluntly out of nowhere. For some reason, the first person that popped into her mind was a blonde tall boy who excessively got on her nerves. She didn't know why Johnny was the first person to appear in her mind and she didn't like it. So she responded with a lie.

"Nope, I have my eyes on nobody. How about you guys? Anyone lucky enough to catch your attention?" Thea saw Ali's eyes trail towards someone and when she turned around, she saw Daniel in her sight. Her heart faltered slightly, but Thea didn't have a reason to feel like this, considering that she had just met Daniel.

"Oh, so you and Daniel?" Thea asked with a smirk plastered onto her face. She saw the way Ali blushed and she knew that it was him that caught her attention.

"I don't think he will like me," Ali muttered softly to herself.

Thea scoffed and looked towards Ali, her eyes intently staring into hers. "I know I've just met you, but I can tell you're an amazing person, Ali. Daniel will be lucky enough to even talk to you." Ali smiled and thanked the girl, already knowing she just made a new friend for the year.

The girls continued to gossip and caught up Thea with the drama at school. When Ali mentioned that Johnny was her ex, Thea didn't know what to say. She felt like if she told the girls that she and Johnny had a corrupted past, she would drive her new friends away, so that's why she kept her mouth shut.

The sun was slowly fading away and the bright moonlight surfaced, the cool chills making Thea wish she remembered to bring an extra pair of pants. But luckily, Benny had his hoodie and gave it to Thea for the night, not wanting her to freeze to death.

The night was going pretty smoothly. Thea was watching Ali and Daniel hit it off and she honestly couldn't be happier for them, up until Thea heard the roaring sound of motorbikes up on the hill. Looking up, she was surprised when she saw Johnny, taking off his helmet and his hair was flowing gracefully in the night air.

"Son of a bitch," Thea muttered to herself, already feeling aggravated by the sight of Johnny. An exasperated sigh left Thea's mouth and Barbara and Susan noticed that she was looking at something or someone.

"You know them or something?" Susan asked in genuine curiosity.

"Or something," Thea replied in a monotone. She saw that Johnny was starting to ride his bike downhill and her heart was palpitating out of her chest and she was fidgeting with her bracelet, a habit she always did whenever she was nervous.

Thea watched as Johnny got off of his bike and sat down next to Ali. She started to feel overwhelmed with a tinge of jealousy and Thea hated feeling this way. The girl always tried to be carefree and happy in front of everyone, but deep inside, she was a mess. Her insecurities certainly didn't help with her feelings too.Β

She continued to watch Johnny attempting to talk to Ali and a small smirk formed on her face seeing how vulnerable Johnny looked, pleading for Ali to talk to him.Β  Even though Thea and Johnny despised each other, they couldn't hide the fact that they were indeed friends at one point, so they did know everything about each other.

And Thea was going to use that against him one day.

When Thea saw the way Johnny broke Ali's radio, that's when she had enough. She stood up on her feet and marched her way towards the pair.

"Are you always such an asshole or do you just like to show off when I'm around?" Thea asked snarkily, grabbing the attention of the blonde boy. Johnny smirked mischievously, about to reply with a comeback, but before he could, he noticed the oversized hoodie on Thea's body, knowing it wasn't hers and the sudden aggression of anger filled his body.

"Who's hoodie is that?" Johnny asked, his nose flaring and his breathing becoming heavier from anger.

"Why do you care?" Johnny stepped closer to Thea, their faces inches apart. If any one of the teens moves, their lips could have brushed up against the other.

The other teenagers watched intently, seeing the stand-off between the new girl and the King Cobra. Nobody ever stood up to Johnny like this, so they were intrigued, wondering how a new girl had this type of boldness.

But before anyone could say anything else, Daniel spoke up, making Thea tightly close her eyes shut with cringe, knowing what was about to come to Daniel.

"Come on, man," Daniel started to pick up the radio and was about to hand it to Ali, but Johnny snatched it out of his hands then aggressively threw it onto Daniel's chest, making him tumble over onto the sand.

"Okay Johnny, stop being aβ€”"

Thea couldn't even defend Daniel when she suddenly felt a pair of strong arms wrap around her body tightly, refraining her from moving. Anger overflowed the girl, but when she turned around, her facial features softened at the boy who was holding her.

"Bobby? What are you doing? You can't let him do this to Daniel," Thea whispered yelled to the boy.

"Trust me, Thea, you don't want to face Johnny. He can be..." Thea scoffed and attempted to force her way out of Bobby's grip.

"Oh no, Bobby, you trust me. I already know how Johnny is and how his wicked mind works. Now, let me go!" Bobby still restrained her and she glared at him, turning her head towards the boy.

When Johnny kicked Daniel in the stomach, that's when she had enough. "Dammit Bobby, I don't want to hurt you."

"What do you meanβ€”"

Bobby didn't even finish when Thea elbowed him in the ribs, making him let go of her body and she roundhouse kicked him in the face, his body flailing over onto the sand. When Thea was out of his grasp and when she looked up, she saw Daniel sucker punch Johnny in the nose.

She knew that look on his face. The look Johnny always had whenever he was about to unleash hell on someone. Johnny started to punch and kick Daniel repeatedly, but before he could get in one last punch, a hand grasped his forearm, making him turn around to meet the eyes of an angry Heather Cabrera.

She swept Johnny off his feet, his back hitting the sand harshly. He smirked in surprise, seeing how Thea knew a little bit of karate. But just as Thea was off her guard, Johnny swept her legs too, her body being knocked down onto the ground. Johnny's body now hovered on top of hers, his hands pinning her wrists into the sand.

"You got moves, Teddy. Who would've known you knew some karate," Johnny said in a low voice, his raspy tone sending chills down Thea's spine.

"Don't call me that. You lost your privilege to call me that, remember?"

"You think I care? I'm calling you Teddy whether you like it or not," Johnny said through gritted teeth. Thea rolled her eyes and was about to get up, but Johnny seemed to pin her wrists even tighter into the ground.

"Dammit Johnny, let me go!"

"Then make me, Teddy." Thea stared into Johnny's eyes with resentment, but then her lips tilted upwards into a smirk, and an idea popped in her head. Without hesitation, Thea lifted up her knee, hitting Johnny where the sun doesn't shine and she chuckled dryly at the way he fell over in pain.

"I think you forgot a lesson from when we were kids, Johnny. You never mess with a Cabrera." Thea stood up and brushed off the sand that was stickingΒ  stubbornly on her hands.

"You'll pay for that, Heather," Johnny said, but Thea didn't turn around, she simply walked away in victory and went to see if Daniel was okay.

"I'm looking forward to it, John."

But what Thea didn't notice was the fact that her bracelet was missing off of her wrist. When Johnny was able to stand on his knees, he noticed the silver-colored charms that were shining in the cerulean
moonlight.

He picked up the bracelet and instantly knew it was Thea's. Just by the way it looked, he knew that this was definitely Thea's style. He put it in his pocket and looked around his surroundings, making sure nobody saw him.

And Johnny smiled maliciously, a plan starting to form in his head.
