BEAUTIFUL CRAZY

nineteen. te amo

"It's not... it's not that-" Wren mumbled, shaking her head as he stepped in front of Tyler, pushing him back a step with her body as she looked up at the parking attendant. "Just move the truck, baby."

"But I'm right here." He argued, his eyes on the guy in front of them. "Just let her say her goodbyes and we'll be out of your hair."

"You can't park here. I don't care how quick it's gonna be."

Wren huffed, rolling her eyes, "you two keep yellin', there's Kate." She patted Tyler on the chest before walking over to the truck that Javi and Kate had climbed out of.

"Hey, I thought you were still in the hospital." Kate smiled when she saw the girl.

"Got discharged," she told her, wrapping her arms around the blonde. "Couldn't let you leave without saying goodbye."

Kate squeezed her a little, being careful with her side, "I'm gonna miss you."

"You'll be back soon enough."

"Hey, careful." Tyler rushed towards them. "You just got discharged, don't wanna take you back already."

Kate laughed as she pulled back, watching as Wren rolled her eyes, "he's overprotective."

"It's cute."

"Yeah, he is." She smiled up at the cowboy.

"Hey, come move your truck or I'll have it towed."

Tyler rolled his eyes, ignoring the attendant, "well, Sapulpa, we'll be seein' ya." He held his hand out and she chuckled as she shook it.

"Sometime soon, hopefully." Wren added.

"Definitely." She nodded, and with one last goodbye and a few more hugs she made her way into the airport.

Wren watched as Javi watched her go, an emotion she was familiar with in his eyes.

"Oh, my God, Javi, go!" She shoved his towards the door.

"What are you-"

"Go tell her the truth, now." She told him and he blinked a few times before looking at Kate through the window once again. "Go."

"Thanks, Cortez." He kissed her cheek then he rushed into the airport, and Wren smiled as she watched him near Kate – who smiled at him. And they talked for a few seconds before he pulled her into his chest and pressed his lips against hers.

"Yes!" Wren cheered, bouncing on her toes.

Tyler chuckled as they headed back towards the truck. And just as he opened the door for her, ignoring the parking attendant, then the pa system buzzed.

"Due to inclement weather on the horizon, please expect delays."

They shared a look, a smile tugging at Wren's lips, "come on, baby. Let's go wrangle some tornadoes."

He laughed, leaning up to kiss her before he closed the door and rounded the truck, a smile on his own lips and they finally pulled away from the curb, much to the relief of the annoyed parking attendant.

two years later

Wren couldn't stop the tears from forming. No matter how many times she blinked or wiped them away they just wouldn't stop.

She swallowed hard, her hands shaking as she met her reflection in the mirror before her. She was scared, more scared then she had ever been.

So scared that she dare not even acknowledge the small sliver of excitement that took root in her chest. She just shoved it away, now wasn't the time for excitement.

Her anxiety wouldn't allow it.

Her teary eyes looked tired and worn out, like she hadn't slept in days and she hadn't. She had been sick for the past few weeks, up all night with a stomach bug.

She was freaking out. This couldn't be possible, they weren't ready. The Tornado Wranglers had just reached four million subscribers – their numbers growing along with Wren's personal channel where she sung her songs.

The storms were gonna keep coming and Tyler was gonna keep chasing them, she knew that. And she wanted to chase them with him. It was the life they had made together, the life she loved more then anything.

A life they had grown comfortable with, and now that was being thrown off course.

And all because she peed on a stick.

Logically, she knew it wasn't the sticks fault.

It was the motel room after a particularly large tornado in Texas, and they were riding so high on the rush that they barely made it back to the room before tearing at each others clothes.

Now, she couldn't believe her eyes as she looked from her reflection to the word on the stick in her hands...

"Hey, baby!" Tyler called out, shutting the door behind him. "How you feelin'?"

Her hands shook and her jaw fell open, but no words came out.

If she throught peeing in the stick was the hard part, she was wrong. She was terrified to tell him.

They had never talked about kids, other than the occasional joke that Boone was like their kid because he hung around their house more than he did his own.

She wasn't sure how he was gonna react.

"Baby?"

She took a breath as his boots thunked against the floor, making his way towards her –– she had been out on the barn with him until she was hit with a wave of nausea.

And she had run out of there so fast that he didn't realize she was gone until he had left the horse stall and she wasn't sitting on the hay bale where she always sat.

She was glad Savannah had given her the test just days before, then it was just a joke. Savannah laughed as she handed it over, saying something about wanting a cousin for her two-year-old. And maybe that was why she had been sick.

Now, it wasn't a joke.

"Wren?"

She steadyed her nerves and tucked her arm behind her back, the test gripped in her fist as she opened the door and met him in the hall.

"Baby," he sighed, worry filling his eyes as he took in her current state.

Her eyes were red, brimming with tears. Her cheeks were wet and puffy. She had worried her bottom lip between her teeth. And she sniffled a little when her nose ran.

"You okay?"

She nodded her head a little because she was okay... for the most part.

"What you got behind your back?"

"Um..." Her eyes drifted to the floor and he stepped towards her, his hands on her cheeks as he titled he head back so their eyes met.

"What is it? What's wrong?"

"Tyler, I'm pregnant."

She watched as his eye went wide, his eyebrows jumping up his forehead. Then he blinked as she pulled her hand out from behind her back, holding the test out for him to see.

"You're... We're pregnant?"

She nodded, tears dripping from her eyes.

"Really?" His face softened, a smile tugging at his lips as happy tears filled his eyes.

"You're happy?"

"'Course I am." His thumbs swiped over her cheeks. "We're having a baby."

"We're having a baby." She nodded, her own smile pulling at her lips. "We're having a baby."

He laughed, pressing a kiss to her lips before leaving kisses all over her face. "Why are you crying, baby?"

"I was scared." She told him, wrapped her arms around his neck. "Wasn't sure how you were gonna react. We never really talked about kids."

"I'm happy, baby. So fucking happy." He kissed her again, making her let out a relived laugh against him. "We're gonna have a baby."

"Fuck, we're having a baby." She muttered, her eyes going wide. "We're not ready for a baby!"

He laughed, pulling her into his chest as he kissed the top of her head. "Let's just celebrate, we can worry about everything else later. We have time."

"Ty," she mumbled after a moment and he hummed in response. "I'm pregnant." She mumbled, like the excitement was finally setting in. Like nothing mattered other then the fact that she was having a baby with the man that she loved.

"I know, baby." He chuckled, kissing her forehead. "Te amo, señora Owens."

She smiled at the name, his last name that was now hers. It was still new, just a few months and she loved it. She loved hearing it. She loved saying it.

And she loved even more that he had learned Spanish for her. Well, he was in the process of learning and that was the first thing he had made sure to learn.

And his accent made it sound funny, but she adored the way it sounded.

"I love you, Mr. Owens."

He grinned, tilting her head back to press his lips against hers. She smiled against his mouth, letting the joy of the moment wash over her.

"Jump, baby." he mumbled and she did. He caught her thighs and guided her legs around his hips as he pressed her against the wall. "It's really sexy that you're carryin' my baby."

"Oh, God, Ty." She chuckled, rolling her eyes a little as she leaned her head back against the wall and he took the opportunity to attach his lips to her neck.

And they were so lost in the moment –– in each other –– that they didn't hear the door open, or close. Or the footsteps coming towards them.

"Oh, fuck. Get a room."

The two turned to see Boone standing at the end of the hall, his hand over his eyes. And it was then that they remembered that they were having everyone over for their weekly dinner.

"Sorry, Boone. Just celebratin'." Tyler smirked as he put Wren back in her feet.

"Celebratin' what?" He asked, peaking through his fingers at them.

"Are we tellin' people?" Tyler asked, looking down at her.

"Well, Boone ain't people, he's family."

"Tellin' people what?"

"Boone," Wren made her way towards him. "I'm pregnant."

His eyes went wide and it took a few seconds for it to set in. "Preg-" Then a smile pulled at his lips and he jumped, "I'm gonna be an uncle! Whoo!"

They all laughed, then he wrapped his arms around Wren and spun her around. She laughed, holding onto his shoulders. Then he turned and rushed down the hall, headed for the door.

Tyler rushed after him, shouting for him to be careful only to be ignored.

And once he was outside where everyone else was, he stopped, "we're having a baby!"

"He means we're having a baby!" Tyler corrected, motioning go himself and Wren. Though he knew that all of them would have a hand in raising him or her –– and he hoped for a girl.

And the excitement just grew from there, it was the first baby of the group.

The first baby Tornado Wrangler.
