𝐈𝐈. my dad actually pays child support

I'm having way too much fun with this LMAO. Sorry for leaving you guys at a cliffhanger, but now we're back! And our favorite DILF is finally here!!! 🥰🥰🥰 He's mean now, but don't worry... just you wait, cuz this man's gonna be embracing fatherhood in an obsessive level once they start bonding

"AND WHO," HE FINALLY SPOKE, eyeing her with a cuttingly cold gaze. "Is that?"

The tension in the room immediately skyrocketed. Hades' smile faltered.

"What do you mean, brother? Is she not your daughter?" He asked, glancing between them in concern.

"I have never seen her before," Poseidon replied curtly, his icy blue eyes remaining on her like a predator watching its prey. "The only reason I came here was to kill whoever would dare claim to be my child."

The more this guy spoke, the more Percy felt like throwing up. His very presence was stifling, like there was an invisible blanket of miasma placed over the throne room. It was oppressive, it felt like she was drowning. She had never felt this way with any god before. She'd rather be stuck in a room with the Zeus she knew than with this guy.

"Huh?!" Old man!Zeus was flabbergasted. "You mean, this isn't your child?!"

"I admit that she has my divine aura—though a rather diluted version of it—but I have never sired a child before," Poseidon answered stiffly.

"Maybe one of your previous partners fell pregnant without your knowledge?" Hades suggested.

"My last partner was centuries ago and I made sure none of those women were pregnant," Poseidon explained. "I would never allow myself to be shackled to them through a child."

Percy blinked in disbelief. His last partner was centuries ago? He had no other kids? This version of her dad wasn't a whore?

He sure dresses like one... She couldn't help but think, eying his attire. Unlike her dad who dressed like a fisherman and, on occasion, wore proper Greek chitons or battle armor, this Poseidon was obviously a lot more... showy of his... assets.

Nothing about his attire indicated that he was of Greek origin. Rather than a chiton or toga, this Poseidon opted to wear a blue, skin-tight top that was cut down the middle to reveal his very large chest and eight pack abs that would probably make Apollo fume with envy. He was also donning a glowing golden choker and a matching pair of golden rings around his biceps. Thankfully, the bottom half of his outfit was a lot less revealing: blue baggy pants that were covered by a white, skirt-like waistcoat, and lastly, a nice pair of seaweed colored boots.

10/10 color scheme (so much blue!), but a 5/10 for the outfit. Like, come on, old man, cover up!

"Well if he hasn't slept with anyone recently, then maybe he did what Hera did when she got Hephaestus?" Zeus shrugged.

"I'm right here, and no, I did not impregnate myself." He glowered, looking insulted by the very idea of copying Hera.

"If I may speak," Brunhilde bravely interrupted. "The girl never claimed to be your daughter, we all just assumed it due to her aura and never thought to ask her for confirmation. I believe we should ask her for an explanation. Percy, correct? Who are your parents?"

Percy's tongue felt like sandpaper. She knew she couldn't tell them the truth; if she said that she was Poseidon's daughter, this Poseidon would kill her. He made that point very clear. She wondered if they would even believe her if she told them that she was from an... alternate dimension? What would she even say?

"I... I don't know..." She stammered out instead. Maybe playing dumb was the best idea?

"Well I'm still convinced it's you, Lord Poseidon," Loki shrugged playfully. "I mean, she has water powers and your divine aura."

"Watch your tongue, trickster. You dare to accuse me of lying?" Poseidon narrowed his eyes dangerously. Even after this, he still managed to look and sound so cold and detached.

He was nothing like the Poseidon she knew.

"No, no, of course not!" Loki brought his hands up, feigning a look of innocence that nobody was falling for. "I mean, we're gods. A normal conception isn't always required to create a child. Perhaps the bifrost has something to do with it?"

"The bifrost?" Hades echoed. His hand was still on Percy's shoulder, which she kind of appreciated because it was the only thing anchoring her and keeping her from freaking out.

"I recall the guards talking about a bright light coming from the bifrost and then she suddenly appeared." Loki explained.

"A bright light from the bifrost..." Hades murmured, deep in thought. "Almost as if the bifrost birthed her itself."

Zeus turned to his other brother, his expression pinched, "Poseidon, did you fuck the bifrost?"

"Do you want to die?"

Percy had to suppress a snort.

"I'll call in Mnemosyne," Zeus decided. "She can help us deal with the girl's missing memories."

"And she can see if she's lying or not," Poseidon added, fixing Percy with a look that made her shrink closer to Hades.

Mnemosyne appeared shortly after being summoned. She had reddish hair a few shades darker than Thor's and green eyes softer than Brunhilde's. She was dressed in a jade dress with golden linings.

Percy had never met this goddess before, but she knew enough about her. She was one of the minor gods, her domain being memories. She was the Titan daughter of Uranus and Gaea, and, disgustingly enough, she was one of Zeus' many lovers and was the sister of Kronos (which technically made her Percy's great aunt).

Additionally, she also was one of the peaceful Titans that Percy had vouched for. Mnemosyne had no demigod kids that she recalled nor did she side with her Titan brethren, but Percy knew she wouldn't have been treated fairly due to Zeus' paranoia if she hadn't stepped in and requested better treatment towards non-Olympians.

"My lords," she addressed the other gods in the room.

"Mnemosyne, my dear!" Zeus blushed when he saw her, and Percy wondered how he was able to get bitches when he looked like that. "It's nice to see you again."

"Zeus," she sighed exhaustively. "Why have you summoned me here?"

"Take a look at this child," he motioned over to Percy. "What do you sense?"

She blinked in astonishment, "I sense... a bit of Lord Poseidon? But how—?"

"Enough of this," Poseidon snapped impatiently. "I never sired a child. I order you to look through this girl's memories and see where she came from."

"We believe Poseidon fucked the bifrost but is too shy to admit it," Zeus snickered under his breath.

Poseidon sent him a vicious glare that would've made anyone cower, but all it did was make his supposedly 'younger' brother laugh harder.

"I'll get to it then," Mnemosyne said quickly, not wanting to infuriate Poseidon any further.

Percy gulped as the goddess approached her.

She would see everything. Every private moment of her life, all her private thoughts and feelings she had, it would all be exposed to this goddess. Even worse, she would know that she wasn't this Poseidon's real daughter. This evil blonde version of her dad was going to turn her into sashimi for sure.

At least I still have the Curse of Achilles, she thought, trying to stay positive. But that got dashed a second later. Oh wait, she'd see that too. Fuck.

Mnemosyne held her face in her hands and their gazes locked. Percy couldn't look away even if she wanted to. Her life seemed to flash through the goddess' eyes and she knew Mnemosyne had seen everything.

In an instant, Mnemosyne pulled away like she had been slapped. Her eyes were wide and dazed. When she looked back at Percy, she was staring at her as if she was a whole other person.

She's gonna out me isn't she? Percy wondered knowingly, her hand discreetly inching towards her pajama pocket. Everyone was too busy focusing on Mnemosyne and waiting for her to say something to pay her any attention, so she could totally stab a few people before trying to make a break for it!

...Maybe.

"Mnemosyne?" Zeus called out to her. "Well? What did you see?"

I'll stab Mnemosyne, kick Hades outta the way, and maybe I could knock Zeus down so I could get to the door? Hopefully, he doesn't break a hip or something... she was so busy strategizing her escape plan that she nearly missed out on what Mnemosyne said.

"—is the truth," the goddess confirmed. "There are no memories prior to her arriving here via the bifrost. While I do not know how she was created, she is Poseidon's daughter and was brought here by the bifrost itself."

Wait what? Percy snapped back into focus.

Mnemosyne was... lying for her? She tried not to gawk too obviously, eyes wide with shock as she stared at the goddess. Hadn't she seen everything? Why was she helping her?

"You are certain of this?" Poseidon questioned, eyes narrowed.

Percy could tell that Mnemosyne was trying not to cower. Geez, what kind of god was this guy? Aside from his brothers, almost everyone seemed afraid of him, or wary at the very least.

"Yes, my lord," she answered firmly. "This is your daughter."

Silence. Seconds passed. Everyone seemed to be waiting for Poseidon's reaction. Percy tried to guess what he was thinking, but she couldn't grasp it. His face was eerily indifferent... and then his icy blue eyes traveled over to her and their gazes locked. She stared back unflinchingly.

Zeus couldn't take the tension any longer.

"Congratulations on becoming a father, Poseidon!" He cheered, clapping his possibly arthritic hands together.

Poseidon did not cheer with him.

"This is excellent news!" Hades beamed, leading Percy to her newfound 'father' by the shoulder. Percy kept trying to send him pleading looks that basically screamed 'no, don't take me to him!' but Hades pretended not to see it. "You're finally a father!"

They reached him at last. Percy dared to look up at Poseidon's face. He was already staring down at her and he did not look happy at the prospect of fatherhood. Yikes.

"It's a pity though," Loki sighed, pouting as he looked at her. "Babies are fun to play with, but this one was born fully grown."

Baby? She blanched. Oh gods, they thought she was a baby?!

Shit, she cursed. According to them, I was technically born about an hour ago... Man, this is embarrassing! They better not try to potty train me or anything like that!

"Just like my Athena was," Zeus jutted his bony chest out proudly. "And she turned out great!"

Finally, an emotion crossed over Poseidon's face. There was visible irritation at the mention of the wisdom goddess. "'Great' is not the word I would call her," he sneered.

So even this Poseidon hated Athena. Of all the things that had to stay from her world, it had to be the great Poseidon-Athena rivalry. Of fucking course.

Before a fight could break out between the brothers, Odin approached her next.

"What are your domains, child?" He asked.

"Um, domains?" She echoed dumbly.

"She used water, so maybe she'll be another sea goddess," Loki shrugged.

"Maybe a war goddess," Thor guessed.

Loki gave him a blank look, "Does she look like she could fight to you?"

The redhead shrugged. "I just want a sparring partner."

"She's obviously going to be a sea god like her father!" Zeus argued.

She watched as they continued to go on back and forth.

They thought she was a deity. Maybe they'd kick her out and let her go home once they found out she was a demigod? Gods weren't supposed to be interacting with demigods anyway.

"...Wait. Something's wrong," Hades suddenly said, quieting down the other gods. He was staring at Percy, looking troubled by something. "Her soul is... mortal."

Poseidon's face twitched. "What?"

Percy had to suppress a shiver. The indifference in his tone was gone now. His expression was filled with disgust and he was now openly glaring at her as if her very existence was a stain in his life. It reminded her of her life back at Yancy Academy where all the rich kids would look at her like she was shit stuck to the bottom of their shoes.

"I don't know how to describe it," Hades frowned pensively. "She has your godly aura, but her soul lacks any divinity. It's mortal. She's like the perfect cross between god and human."

Well yeah, that's what a demigod is, she thought sarcastically. Seriously, haven't these guys heard of half-bloods? Zeus and Poseidon had tons of them!

"Ewww, she's human? Yuck!" Loki stepped away, gagging.

She gave him a pointed look, "Dude, you're the one with barf-colored hair."

His smile tightened. "Oh, you mouthy little shit..."

Hades stepped in-between them before any fighting could ensue. "You shouldn't be going around attacking babies, Loki," he scolded him. "She's less than a day old, she doesn't quite know how to behave just yet."

She was beginning to like this Hades more and more now. She sent Loki a triumphant look when he was forced to concede. He responded by sticking his tongue out at her.

"What do you mean she's mortal?" Poseidon was openly fuming now. "Is she a demigod?"

Yes! She mentally answered.

"No," Hades said, much to her confusion. "If she were a demigod like the Valkyries, she'd still have the essence of an immortal. But in her case, I don't see it. I look at her soul and I see the same one as all the souls residing in Valhalla. Purely mortal. Maybe she could be like Heracles, but I don't know... Something seems different about her."

"Perhaps it's an ascension gone wrong," Odin suggested.

"It could be," Hades replied, but he didn't seem sure of it either.

"To be fair, demigods are not widely understood yet," Mnemosyne quickly spoke up. "There's not many of them, after all. Percy's existence could be a new thing we've discovered."

Percy stared at her in bewilderment. While she was glad for the help, she was lost on what was said. What did she mean there weren't many demigods? 90% of the entire demigod population came from Zeus! Was this alternate version of her uncle not horny or something? That was a miracle.

Oh yeah, I'm definitely in an alternate dimension if that's the case. She inwardly snorted.

But wait... If... if the number of demigods was too low, then did that mean Camp Half-Blood didn't exist here either? She knew that the chances of her friends and family being here were in the negatives, but she had been hoping that she would have at least some semblance of familiarity. The prospect of there being no Camp Half-Blood made her hopes fall even further.

"That could be it," Hades nodded, referring to Mnemosyne's theory. "Of course, we should try to find a clearer answer in the future. I know someone who could help with that."

Poseidon's eyes darted to his elder brother. "Him?" He said with obvious distaste. "That fleabag?"

Hades only smiled. "You needn't worry. Beelzebub's not suicidal enough to try any unethical experiments on your daughter."

"Isn't being suicidal literally his thing, though?" Loki raised a brow.

"Anyway," Hades was suspiciously quick to change the subject, which did nothing to reassure Percy. "You ought to take your daughter home, Poseidon. Mortal children tend to tire very quickly and from what I've heard, she's had quite the night."

"Fine," Poseidon bit out. He turned to her. "Come." He ordered, like she was some puppy he needed to train.

Rather than listening, she sent Hades a pleading look. Please don't make me go with this psycho, she tried to telepathically communicate with him.

"Are your ears defective or something? I said come," Poseidon ordered a second time, and something told her not to push for a third.

When all Hades did was give her an encouraging nod, she bit the inside of her cheek and trudged over to her... father (insert sobbing emoji). On the way there, she managed to catch Mnemosyne's eye.

'Play along!', the goddess mouthed.

I don't wanna! Percy wanted to shout as she was forced to stand by her father's side. Get me outta here!

As usual, the Fates were not on her side. Water enveloped the pair of them and the ground disappeared beneath her feet. Less than a second later, the water turned to seafoam bubbles and the air had been replaced by the sea. They were underwater now, and the sight before them was breathtaking.

No hate to her dad, but this Atlantis was a hundred times cooler than the one back in her original world.

The beauty of this new Atlantis was hard to describe. Due to the oceanic pressure, she could tell they were deep under the sea where it was usually dark, but the city was illuminating. Everything was bright, as if they had teleported straight into an aquatic-themed heaven.

When she turned to him, her jaw nearly dropped. His clothes were gone, leaving his sculpted chest open for everyone to see. The only thing that remained were his glowing golden choker and arm bands. Everything else, like his appearance, had completely changed, from man to mer.

Starting from the top, his pointed ears had been replaced by a set of large blue and gold fins that seemed to twitch with irritation (because of her, no doubt). They were large enough to frame the sides of his face entirely, reaching to his lower jaw to the upper parts of his skull. Thin and translucent webbing connected his fingers, and his fingernails had turned into sharp, deadly claws that could slice her into ribbons.

But the most majestic part of him was the tail.

His legs had been replaced by a massive tail that had to be over two meters long. His scales were a beautiful myriad of colors that suited the ocean and his divine status; it started out blue, before shimmering down into sea green and gold. He had two pairs of side fins of the same style. At the end of his tail were large, semi-transparent flukes.

Before she could admire it further, Poseidon started moving forward, the force of his tail propelling in the water nearly sending her flying back.

She quickly swam after him. He was hard to catch up to thanks to the lack of tail so she had to use her powers to give her a little speed boost to help herself out. She mentally sighed in relief when she managed to keep up with his pace. He probably wouldn't like it if she strayed behind.

The further she and Poseidon swam, the more pearly bright buildings she could see. There were numerous bioluminescent plants that she had never seen before surrounding them. Sea animals, mer-people, and nymphs swam by them, but always made sure to stop and bow down to Poseidon while staring curiously at her.

Up ahead she could see a massive structure that stood out the most. It was taller and wider than everything else in the kingdom; the palace of Poseidon. It was separated by the rest of the kingdom by a colossal glowing bridge that could put San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge to shame. It shimmered and glowed with life, almost as if it was sentient. They swam across it and stopped at a pair of towering gates that opened automatically once they sensed Poseidon's presence.

They entered the palace at last. The inside was just as breathtaking as the exterior, perhaps more so. The ceiling towered far over her head, made out of glittering white abalone shell and decorated with gold and pearls. She could see two staircases on each side of the room, both leading to the same hallway on the second floor. Below it, in-between the staircases, was a set of double-doors. She didn't know where it led to.

She couldn't really compare it to her dad's palace back in her original world. She had only been there once, and his underwater kingdom was in the middle of being attacked by Kronos' forces. A good portion of the palace was in disarray, and it was probably still under repair too.

Before she could marvel around some more, a figure approached them.

"Welcome back, my lord," a god dressed up as a butler greeted them professionally. Like all of the citizens here, he had a fishtail instead of legs and other fish-like features like the fins he had on the side of his head where his ears should've been. His tail was a light sea green. His gaze traveled over to her. "I see we have a guest."

"My... daughter, actually," Poseidon corrected. Percy pretended not to notice how he said the word 'daughter' like it was cursed.

The butler's eyeballs nearly popped out of his skull. "Y-your—?!"

"—Prepare a room for her, Proteus," he ordered. "And quickly. She needs her sleep. Apparently she's defective and functions like a human."

"I-I see! I'll get to it right away, my lord!" Proteus bowed so low that his head nearly touched the floor.

Once Proteus was gone, Poseidon was quick to depart. She turned to him hesitantly; she didn't know whether to follow him or not.

"Um, dad, do I—"

"—You are to address me as 'father' and nothing else," he interrupted her with a clipped tone. Like he was already sick of her existence. He didn't even bother to turn around and face her.

She tried not to let her shoulders sink. "Oh. Sorry, father..."

"You will wait here until Proteus returns. It shouldn't be too long. Now don't disturb me." He ordered.

She watched as he swam away, the double-doors automatically opening for him and closing once he passed through.

She was left alone with her thoughts.

Asshole, she thought bitterly. She wanted to say it out loud, but she knew gods had super-hearing and didn't want to risk him killing her. This Poseidon wouldn't hesitate to go through with it.

She knew this wasn't her real dad, but it suddenly felt like she was back to square one with him. She felt like a little girl again, twelve years old and just discovering the world of the gods and realizing that her dad was an all-powerful deadbeat just like all the others.

She had never met the guy and yet she was forced to stop a Civil War from happening; forced to save his skin despite the fact that he had abandoned her. After the quest, they met for the first time ever and he had the audacity to call her a mistake.

And yeah, sure it hurt, but her relationship with her dad had gotten better over time. He had apologized, explained that he couldn't be there for her due to the Ancient Laws and how he tried to work his way around them regardless. She had smiled and nodded along, accepting his apology like a good girl despite the sour taste in her tongue.

(Hades lets Nico live with him in the Underworld, she wanted to tell him. But you never once asked me to even visit you. Is it because of Amphitrite and Triton? Are you ashamed of me? Why can't we spend more time together? I don't want your fucking acknowledgment, I want you to be my DAD; I've done enough for you, haven't I—?!)

Fathers never seemed to work for her. Gabe Ugliano was an abusive piece of shit whose corpse was now on display at the museum. Poseidon could never be a proper father no matter how much she wanted him to be. Then there was Paul Blofis, her newest step-dad who was quite literally the only proper father she ever had, was now a world away from her.

And now here she was, stuck with another 'dad' who hated the fact that she even existed. She didn't know who was worse; him or Gabe Ugliano.

Near the end of her miserable rumination, Proteus had returned at last. They must have used some sort of godly magic to get her room ready because it had finished really quickly.

"Princess," he greeted her, bowing cordially. He seemed nervous on how to approach her, probably wondering if she was as awful as Poseidon.

She managed an easygoing grin, wanting to show that she was nothing like that blonde dickhead they called a king.

"Hi," she waved. "Mr. Proteus, right? Nice to meet you."

"Yes, my lady," she could see his shoulders visibly relax and mentally pat herself on the back. "Please follow me. Your room is ready. Apologies for the wait."

"It's cool," she assured, following after him.

He led her up the stairs and down a large hallway.

"I've been informed that you are a newborn, my lady," Proteus said. "I hope Poseidonis has been to your liking?"

"Poseidonis?" She repeated.

"The capital city of the Atlantean Kingdom," he explained. "Named after your great father, of course."

"Oh! I haven't seen much of it but so far, everything looks amazing!" She beamed, mentally adding, Terrible name though.

"Perhaps you can ask your father for a tour," he wondered aloud, and she grimaced. Yeah there was no way she was gonna do that. Poseidon would sooner throw her into a meat grinder than spend a minute longer with her. He made that all too clear.

They finally reached a large door that was taller than her. It was just as glamorous as the rest of the palace, but Proteus opened the door before she could admire it more.

"Whoa," she marveled. "This is my bedroom?"

The room alone was bigger than her entire apartment back in New York. Her eyes were bombarded by baby pinks, blues, and purples. The furniture seemed to be made out of marble, abalone shells, and pearls; she could see more bioluminescent plants hanging from the ceiling that provided her with a light source. And at the center of it all was a giant pink clam shell bed that could probably fit ten people.

"Yes, Princess," Proteus nodded. "Does it suit your tastes? I could prepare another bedroom if you'd like—"

"—No, no, no, this is fine! It's perfect actually," she grinned at him. "Thank you, sir."

"It is my duty to serve my lord's daughter, Princess," he smiled back, bowing at her. "I've been told that you require rest in the form of a deep sleep, so I will not impede you any further. Please alert me or any of the servants if you need anything else. I bid you goodnight."

Proteus left after that, closing the door quietly behind him.

Now that she was all alone, Percy heaved a sigh and laid down on her new clam shell bed. As if sensing her exhaustion, the bioluminescent plants up ahead dimmed until they were no longer glowing. Now the room was enveloped in darkness.

She had only been here for about an hour, but man did she feel drained. Physically, emotionally, and mentally. Everything that had transpired had finally caught up to her.

She was in a new world. Her friends were gone. Her mom was gone. She knew nobody here. And her dad... Well, he wasn't really her dad.

"Shit..." She said aloud, her voice heavy with emotion. She tried not to cry as she stared at her ceiling. In the dark, the plants looked dead.

"I need to go home. I... I want to go home."

"Lady Mnemosyne."

Mnemosyne turned around, having already sensed the Valkyrie before hearing her. Green narrowed her eyes in suspicion, what was Brunhilde doing in her manor?

"Brunhilde," she acknowledged. "What are you doing here? You've never visited me before."

"It's about Poseidon's daughter, Percy," she replied.

Ah, right. Mnemosyne had almost forgotten that the Valkyrie had been there when they were discussing her, she was so quiet that her presence had slipped through her mind.

"What about her?" Mnemosyne asked, trying to sound curious rather than tense.

"I'll get straight to the point: you covered for her, didn't you? You lied to everyone back there." She stated bluntly. "She is not Poseidon's daughter."

"...No, she is," Mnemosyne admitted, closing her eyes and exhaling deeply. "Just not this Poseidon."

Brunhilde frowned. "What?"

"Percy is not from this universe," the goddess told her seriously. "There is another entirely different universe where she is from, with gods just like our own. There, she was born as Percilla Atalanta Jackson, daughter of Poseidon and a mortal woman, Sally Jackson."

Her frown only deepened, there was a twinge of worry in the crease of her brow now. "What are you talking about? That's preposterous. A mortal cannot bear a god's child—"

"—I saw sixteen years of her life through her memories," Mnemosyne interrupted. "I know what I saw."

"Then why lie?" She asked, suspicious.

Brunhilde had lived long enough to know that the relationship between gods and humans had withered away over the eons. Whatever 'love' the gods had for humanity was no more. Sure there were a handful of gods that didn't care about the whole 'gods vs humans' conflict (if you could even call it that), but Mnemosyne had never been one of them. She, like many others, held the humans with disdain.

Mnemosyne pursed her lips, like she was hesitant.

"There was... an alternate version of me there. But I wasn't treated with respect. I was even considered a 'minor goddess'," she scoffed bitterly under her breath. "But Percy made sure I wouldn't be treated like that, she wanted everyone to be treated equally."

Mnemosyne had to admit, despite only briefly meeting Percy, she had actually grown quite fond of the girl. Looking through one's memories would do that to you. In that short minute of looking through her mind, she had experienced all sixteen years of Percy's life; she had heard her thoughts and felt her emotions.

She felt the despair Percy felt when the Second Titan War grew on the horizon. The painful heartbreak with every friend she lost on the way. The frustration and agony as Luke Castellan's last plea came to her. She felt the girl's fiery determination to set the Olympians straight when they offered to grant her one wish.

She had been offered the irresistible temptation of immortality, but she had done the unexpected and rejected it. All for the sake of righting wrongs.

(She was so selfless, but she was just a child. Mnemosyne could feel her own heart cry out for Percy's shattered childhood.)

So she could say with confidence that Percilla Atalanta Jackson was the greatest hero that had ever walked the planet. There had never been a hero like her—and there probably would never be.

"There were many demigods like her back in her world. There's actually a camp for them to stay in," Mnemosyne began to explain. "But you see, it was only the children of the Olympians who were treated fairly. Not even Hades was treated with respect, poor god doesn't even have his own place on Olympus."

"What?" Brunhilde blurted out. "Do the Brothers not have a good relationship with each other?" She could not imagine Hades being excluded from Adamas, Poseidon, and Zeus. It was mind boggling to even picture. They loved their elder brother too much to ever treat him in such a way.

"It's complicated..." Mnemosyne winced. "But as I was saying, children of non-Olympian gods or those who were never claimed by their godly parent had to sleep on the floor of the Hermes cabin. Could you imagine such disrespect? Percy doesn't know if I have any demigod children, but I would've been furious if I found out my own kids were treated like trash!"

At this point, Mnemosyne was already pacing around the floor and gesturing with her hands as if she had gained Percy's inability to stay still. Brunhilde watched her go back and forth, the fury evident on the goddess' face.

"I agree," she said. "It is quite cruel to treat kids that way..."

"Exactly!" Mnemosyne nodded fiercely. "These demigod children were even abandoned by their own godly parent! There's this stupid Ancient Law in her world that prevents gods from interfering with mortals—their own children included, so they just dump them with their mortal parent! These kids don't even know that they're demigods until they get attacked by a bloodthirsty monster!"

"It's just too cruel. On top of the abandonment, there's children being treated like unwanted leftovers just because their godly parent isn't seen as 'important' enough by those spoiled Olympians! The mistreatment was so bad that a whole revolution had to happen and Percy had to be the one to fix it all."

"Lady Mnemosyne—" Brunhilde tried to speak, but the goddess was too fired up.

"—They had a war back there, and you know who had to do the fighting while the gods were dealing with Typhon? The children! The fucking children!"

Uh oh, she's cursing now... Brunhilde thought.

"Percy was only fifteen when she had to lead the war, and her enemies? Also children, because apparently demigods barely reach adulthood and the gods thought it was still a good idea to keep procreating with mortals despite knowing with certainty that their child wouldn't stay alive for long. How ridiculous is that?!"

"I—"

"—She faced Kronos and defeated him, and you know what the gods offered her as a prize? Immortality. To become a god. And she rejected it."

The Valkyrie stilled. Her words sinking in. She couldn't even be shocked at the prospect of Kronos making a reappearance in her world because...

Percy... rejected immortality? Godhood?

She had never heard of a human doing such a thing.

"That's..." She trailed off, stunned.

"You know what she asked for instead...? For all demigod children to be claimed by their parents. For all gods to be treated with respect. Even the traitors were granted amnesty... Even Titans were shown her kindness."

Titans? Now this, Brunhilde's jaw dropped at. Titans had been imprisoned in Tartarus in the aftermath of the Titan War, and were nearly wiped out during their attempted breakout in the Giant War. Very few Titans (like Mnemosyne) had been spared and were alive today. They were feared, powerful beings that were ruled by Kronos. Even some gods feared them to this day. She couldn't imagine a child such as Percy vouching even for them.

"The gods don't deserve her," Mnemosyne was muttering. "No, not even the mortals deserve her."

She tried to speak up again, "Lady Mnemosyne—"

"—Nobody deserves her. A child like that is too good for this world. I must keep her safe."

Brunhilde quickly walked up and grasped her shoulders, shaking her a little to snap her back into focus. "Lady Mnemosyne! Focus! I understand why you protected her, but now you need to tell me what we need to do to help her."

Green eyes blinked. "W... we? You wish to help Percy as well?"

"You just told me how great of a hero Percy is, of course I want to help her!" She snorted. "So? What is our plan?"

Mnemosyne's shock faded away, replaced by a determined glint. "She's already figured out that this isn't her own world. She's scared and wants to go back home, so that's what I want to do. I want to help her find a way back."

"The bifrost is what sent her here, so perhaps it could send her back," Brunhilde theorized.

She nodded in agreement. "I was thinking that too. But we've got a more pressing problem in our hands."

The Valkyrie's face darkened. She knew all too well what this second 'problem' was.

"Poseidon." She said grimly.

Mnemsoyne nodded, a solemn look on her face. "Poseidon hates humans more than any god I know. If he were to find out about this farce of Percy not technically being his real daughter..."

"Or that she's biologically half human..." Brunhilde's stomach sank.

"She's fucked." They said in unison.

— author's note —

I based off Atlantis from Aquaman's Atlantean Empire lmao. I like how there's gifs of it and I love how aesthetically pleasing all the locations are. They really did a good job on designing Atlantis imo.

Also, I gave Poseidon a merman form hehe! I was lowkey disappointed when I found out he lived in Valhalla on LAND and not underwater 🥲 So I changed that here: he not only lives in Atlantis and has a mermaid form, but he also resides in Midgard instead of Valhalla (there will be an explanation for that at a later chapter)

Next chapter! We finally get to see how Percy's friends and family react to her disappearance back in her original world! We also may or may not get to finally meet Beelzebub later on 🪰💖😈

No seriously, the difference in relationships between them is hilarious. In ror, the brothers all clearly respect and love Hades and have a good relationship with each other (except for that one time with Poseidon and Adamas oops), and then there's the pjo!big three: constantly fighting each other and killing each other's kids. Don't even get me started on how they treat poor Hades 💀
