In 2012, Erika is a tall young woman with a buxom and curvaceous figure which she often sports in athletic designer clothing or any type of comfortable clothing.

She has light brown eyes and shoulder-length blonde hair which nearly reaches to her lower back which she usually either keeps loose, unless she is playing volleyball or dancing and at school she keeps it in a high ponytail or sometimes two pigtails. While she doesn't usually wear makeup due to her busy life as an athlete, Erika will make an exception for small occasions such as dates and such, here she usually wears strawberry lipgloss or small amounts of blush, eye shadow and eyeliner. Erika usually sports a black knee brace for her right knee.

During her time as a student at Karasuno High, she wears the typical girls uniform which consists of a white blouse, red ribbon, cream sweater, black blazer, and a grey skirt. However, she also likes to add just a t-shirt whenever she is lazy.

For her hair, she either keeps it loose whenever she feels lazy or either just tied it in a high or low ponytail.

As the volleyball club assistant manager and coach, her uniform as manager consists of a matching black track jacket and pants while she wears either a plain black or white t-shirt underneath and wears black athletic sneakers.

For her hair, she either keeps it loose whenever she feels lazy or either just tied it in a high or low ponytail. If shes teaching the boys volleyball moves, she puts her hair in a single braid hairstyle.

𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐋:

For normal days and casual outfits, she wears clothes that are comfortable but also fashionable as well. She wears her usual signature colors of light blue, pink and yellow and sometimes adds gold jewelry and star or celestial accessories.

(𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐄𝐑) 𝐏𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐒:

For the days where she used to be able to practice volleyball or dancing fully or just to get a good workout or practice with the guys in the Karasuno Team, Erika wears light and comfortable fabric sweatpants, tank tops and hoodies, being of her signature colors, light grey, white or black and wears athletic shoes; perfect to practice with as an athlete.

𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐋:

All formal events are categorized differently in each of her different styles depending on the events that is attending:

𝘍𝘖𝘙 𝘋𝘈𝘛𝘌𝘚:

If she is on a romantic date with a man or a woman, Erika will style herself in not only her signature colors but also also add colors such as gold, lilac and other light shades of purple, green, darker shades of blue, white and so on, as she wears beautiful dresses, short or long depending on the date, location or occasion. She also wears shoes to match or complement her outfits, styles her hair and adds her signature star or celestial or Angel jewelry and accessories.

𝘍𝘖𝘙 𝘍𝘖𝘙𝘔𝘈𝘓 𝘌𝘝𝘌𝘕𝘛𝘚:

For a formal event, whether it's for school, an event for her own or her mom's career, or a special occasion. Erika has a range of dresses and outfits planned for these special events that all range in different styles but still complement her listed aesthetics above.

𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄:

On the weekend when there is no school and due to her injured knee, she has the opportunity to take a break and have the time to herself or spend the time with her sisters or friends or cuddling with her kittens, she wears clothes that keep her body comfortable and lazy such as sweatpants or worn out leggings with an oversized t-shirt or tank top or she wears a matching pair of shorts and a top, she keeps her hair loose or in a ponytail as she doesn't feel like putting in effort in her appearance for the moment.

𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄:

For the night time and when she is sleeping, taking the day off or having late night calls with her friends or Daichi Sawamura, she often wears a matching pajama top and shorts/pants.

For jewelry, Erika has a variety of her signature styles such as stars, celestial and Angel jewelry, she also wears some jewelry with flower pendants as well. They have an assortment of gold, silver or different colors for her signature aesthetics.

Erika is one to be known of her bold and confident personality, outside of the court she is known for her charming and friendly personality that makes people instantly warm up to her and is shown to have an optimistic view of life despite what life has thrown to her. She takes exceptional pride in her skills in volleyball but unintentionally gets to the point of cockiness at times but understands that there are places and points where she needs to improve. Despite being sensitive to criticism, she genuinely tries to take it and tries to change herself for better.

However, due to her toxic stepmother's controlling nature and her father not defending her and her sister and her toast toxic teammates, Erika is shown to bear an angry rebellious side to herself. She can shown to have a sharp tongue when she snaps at people or when angry. This sharp tongue can destroy anyone's ego or help her come up with clever insults to those who annoy her or those who have hurt her or those close to her. However despite this angry and rebellious side she shows, Erika is a kind and genuinely caring person. She is shown to also be really smart, although sometimes she is prone to get easily distracted.

At first, while she is indifferent to the boys of Karasuno at first, when she warms up to them she shows she is really attentive and caring towards their skills and their wellbeing's. She helps the team by explaining the rules to the new players, correcting players errors, helping their weak points, even listening to them on their problems and doubts during practice or before a game or even outside of the court, she even cares enough for them to help cheer them up after they lose a practice or an actual match. While she can get annoyed with their antics at times, she still cares about her friends in and outside the volleyball team.

After receiving her knee injury during her last game in middle school during Nationals, Erika has temporarily lost her drive and passion for volleyball. This caused her confident and loud and proud personality to quiet and reserved for sometime. The inability to play volleyball and to dance has crushed her greatly. Her drive and performance soon started to lack as she realized how burnt out she was from putting so much pressure on herself to succeed. On the sidelines, she learns that it's okay to not always come first place and to take it slow.

It has also shown that despite her strong and ambitious personality, Erika secretly and greatly struggled with anxiety due to her past and it worsened after her knee injury. Despite her positive personality, she had a crippling fear of the worst possible outcomes and often lead her to over preparing. However, this has also lead her to become more empathetic to the players of the Karasuno Volleyball Team, especially Shoyo Hinata with his pregame jitters and anxiety.

While she is kind and friendly, Erika grew to become no pushover and shown that she can become feisty and sassy when people try to take advantage of her again; as shown when someone attempts to bully or tear her down, she will stand for herself and fight (physically as well). This came from the experiences of being bullied by her stepmother during her childhood and the combined anger and frustration within herself for not fighting back and seeing how her father never stood up for her and Etsuko. She deeply cares about both of her little sisters and will defend them, as well with her friends. With her sister and friends she is very attentive as well as joking and teasing and will playfully roast them as a love language.

On the court, Erika was extremely intelligent and strategic genius as well as focused. She was very observant of not just her opponents but her allies too, being very attentive and helping whenever she needs. However when she's tired and exhausted she can get cranky and irritable, which can make her snap at times (and she often regrets it afterwards). And due to her hardworking nature, Erika is also very stubborn and hardworking, however this combo can make her prone to overworking herself, this shows when she practiced to the point where she injured her knee after losing in nationals. Erika is shown to have extremely immaculate leadership skills and can communicate effectively to her team.

Erika has a very strong ambition and determination in her core that can never be fully extinguished, just after time and recovery she can finally reach her goals.

⭐️𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃⭐️

Erika was born in Okinawa, Japan along with her younger sister Etsuko. Until she was five years old, Erika and her sister lived with their mother, Mayu Fujisaki in her custody after after her parents divorce but unfortunately due an illness that took their aunt Kayoko Fujisaki and then their mother, Erika and Etsuko moved in with their father, Yasuo Uyeno. The man retired from his career of being a professional volleyball player to spend time with his daughter and worked as an engineer.

Living with her father, Erika also resided in the same neighbourhood as Toru Oikawa and Hajime Iwaizumi and at that time. She grew really close with the both of them and saw them as her best friends. Also during that time, Erika and Etsuko often traveled to Tokyo with their father and that's where she met Tetsuro Kuroo and Kenma Kozume and became close with them due to their love of volleyball, it's also where she met her soon to be stepmother, Misato Kuno.

Not too long after, Yasuo and Misato were dating, they hit it off and they got married three later when Erika was eight. At things, everything was going really well, Erika and Etsuko saw Misato as their next mother figure as their biological mother died, or that's what Erika thought (and even before her father married to her). Eventually at one point, Misato started to show a really sadistic controlling side to herself and started to scold the girls on small mistakes, even bullying them at times and Yasuo did nothing to defend them.

Yasuo was also known to be extremely strict and had sometimes taken jokes too far, sometimes invalidating the feelings of his daughters and dismissing Misato's behaviors. This along with Misato's behavior created Erika to become extremely angry and could snap at any moment.

However, sometime that had passed later, Misato's behavior only changed slightly when she gave birth to her daughter and Erika's half sister, Kameko. While Erika grew to love and adore Kameko, it still didn't change her feelings of anger and resentment towards Misato and her father. It didn't make it any better that Misato treated Kameko better than both Erika and Etsuko, often treating and spoiling her as a mother should do to a daughter.

One night when Erika was eleven, she got into a heated argument with both her father and stepmother, that night both of them ended up in a car accident. The night of that incident and Erika remembering the awful words she shouted to her only parents, changed Erika forever. After the car accident, Erika was forced to move out of her neighbourhood and didn't even get the chance to say goodbye to her friends. An old fan of Yasuo Uyeno took the liberty of adopting the three girls since Erika's father and stepmothers family didn't want anything to do with her and Etsuko and only wanted Kameko. That woman was Rina Shiroko.

For a majority of life, Erika started to rise to fame quickly with her talent of volleyball and dancing. Because she wasn't ready to accept the name of Shiroko or able to accept the last names of either parent, Erika forged her last name into Koume along with her sisters with the permission of Rina Shiroko. In Sakurako Junior High School, she managed to get her team to Nationals almost for three years in a row and won every game, thus earning herself the nickname "Ms. Nationals". While those victories may have earned her a high place statistically, Erika herself was in a very low spot. She put a lot of expectations and pressure on herself so she could run away from the guilt and the pain she was enduring internally, overworking her body and mind to victory so she could chase her new goal. To her it was never enough.

Eventually the act of overworking herself eventually caught up to Erika, after losing their last game and chance to go to Nationals, when she arrived back home Erika started to practice back at home even though she was completely exhausted and needed to rest. She didn't listen to her body and unfortunately during the middle of practice, this caused a major injury on her knee. This made her ability to dance and play volleyball and as the doctor says, she won't be able to do any major physical activity for a whole year or more. During this time, Erika started to reevaluate her life and what it means to play volleyball, to dance, to be who she is. She knows that she'll pull through and that it's time to move forward.

Erika was and still is known as "Ms. Nationals" and not only a volleyball genius but as an extremely talented player with her technique and her incredible athletic abilities. Due to her injury however, she was unable to play in the court for more than a year but outside of the court, she was able to think more about her skills and how to improve them and not only that, but also help the boys of Karasuno as well.

Erika is a skilled all-rounder and is able to play any position, but prefers to play a wing spiker as she has been known for her powerful jumps, often being nicknamed "Angel Of The Court" by others or just "Angel" by her mom. After her knee had completely healed, while she hasn't played in a while, she has not lost her talent but getting used to the court and being active again has not been easy but she proved herself in bouncing back in again.

Without knowing it, Erika is quite naturally charming and has been known to make people naturally follow her in her footsteps with her good examples and being inspiring as well. She has been known to attract those around her quite naturally due not only her looks but her personality as well.

• 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘺:

As a person, Erika is naturally friendly and gets along with others very well due to her naturally charming personality and her kindness. This is shown in how she is able to make friends easily with the Karasuno boys, Kiyoko, Yachi and other team players and managers and other people she encounters inside and outside of volleyball.

• 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦:

Along with Erika's charming and friendly personality, another thing that stands out about Erika is her kind and compassionate personality. She offers it to everyone, no matter who you are in wealth, status, reputation and such. She always willing to help anyone in need and gives you an ear to listen to and a shoulder to cry on.

• 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦:

This trait is something you mainly see on the court or when you see her from a distance. Confidence in her looks, her skills in volleyball, dancing and many other skills is very visible but not to the point where she reaches arrogance. While at times her confidence falters or sometimes she feels she has to fake it, she shows that she always bounces back up from it someway or another.

• 𝘉𝘰𝘭𝘥:

Erika has been known to have a bold streak to her, where she is not afraid to say what is on her mind and what needs to be said. Her silver tongue along with this combination can make her a deadly weapon to her enemies, a great asset to her team and a helpful and wise person to her friends.

• 𝘗𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦:

With her love for volleyball, the stars, her dreams and her wishes for the future, Erika shows a great amount of passion. While after her knee injury, the passion had left its spark for a short amount of time but when it reignited, it became very noticeable and it also inspired other people's passions, especially her teams.

• 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘤:

Due to having anxiety which can take a huge toll on her, it helped her become more empathetic and kinder to those around her. This is shown when she helps Shoyo with his pregame jitters and anxiety, Tobio Kageyama with his trauma from being abandoned in middle school after a game, Asahi's anxiety, and many others.

Erika has proven herself to be a caring person to those close to her on multiple occasions. This is shown with her friends and teams, she is also attentive to their strengths, weaknesses and where they need to work on their skills. She also shows this side to her sisters and close friends.

• 𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘭𝘦:

Despite coming from a rich adoptive mother, working herself a reputation since middle school with the name of "Ms. Nationals" and coming from a place of privilege, Erika acknowledges it and a place where she came from where she was not so privileged. She likes to use her name for a good cause and to be a good person to others despite her background and where she comes from currently and in the past.

• 𝘙𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦:

As a mini coach and an assistant manager of the Karasuno's Boys Volleyball Team, a friend, a sister and a person in general; Erika has shown herself to be a person you can count on no matter what.

• 𝘓𝘰𝘺𝘢𝘭:

Erika as a friend, sister and teammate shows a lot of loyalty, especially quite fiercely, which is why she can take betrayal quite hard and seriously. She has shown that she will stick with you through the hard times, the worst times and be there for you when you need her.

• 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 (𝘗𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭, 𝘌𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭, 𝘝𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘺𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘈𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘤):

Erika shows herself to be very intelligence, something that she inherited from her father and her mother (which also passed down to both of her sisters as well). While Erika's intelligence mainly relies practically, emotionally and volleyball, she also does quite well in her academic work.

• 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴:

While being a naturally talented player, as shown in her reputation in her name "Ms. Nationals", she also shows herself to be quite a good teacher in volleyball to the boys of Karasuno, showing she has patience, kindness and the skills to help them reach nationals.

• 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘚𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴:

As a captain of her past team and an assistant manager and mini coach for the Karasuno Boy's Volleyball Team, Erika has shown to have  leadership skills that even have the leaders of other volleyball teams admiring and envy her skills.

• 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘚𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴:

Where here, she has helped Tobio Kageyama with his inability in communication of his sets to his players and understanding his players more, she is a good mediator for her team players and her friends in and outside the court.

• 𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘰 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯:

Erika has shown to have mistakes in the past, while she is sensitive to criticism, she is willing to learn from her mistakes and lessons in order to do better and move on.

• 𝘕𝘰𝘵 𝘈 𝘗𝘶𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳:

Due to being bullied by her stepmother in the past, Erika forced herself to never become a pushover to those who try to use or take advantage of her kindness, her reputation and her fame.

• 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘤:

As a player on the court and an assistant coach, Erika shows herself to be really skilled in strategy as she keeps an eye out for the opponents of their games, how to utilize her teams strengths and such.

• 𝘈𝘵𝘩𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘤:

Erika has shown herself to have immense athletic abilities; while not as great as Shoyo Hinata, she has proven herself to be very strong, fast and agile and this has proven to be a great advantage on the court. However after this, while she wasn't at the same athletic level as before, she proved herself to bounce back but acknowledged her limits so she wouldn't injure herself again.

• 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨:

Erika has proved herself to be a talented dancer before her knee injury and since she was a child and had won awards for it.

𝐖𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐒:

• 𝘖𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨:

Erika has a bad tendency to overwork herself until she has to reach her limits, this is what caused her knee injury as she was practicing after she lost her last game in nationals and was angry with herself, this caused her to play and practice hard to release her anger but in the end caused her knee injury. The injury forced her to allow herself to take a break and to learn that overworking yourself is not always the answer.

• 𝘗𝘶𝘵𝘴 𝘛𝘰𝘰 𝘔𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘖𝘯 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧:

Another flaw that was a crutch in her injury was in how much pressure she put on herself, having very high expectations of herself and making herself carry all the heavy burdens of her work all on herself until she started asking for help and realizing that she doesn't have to carry the team alone.

• 𝘏𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘺 𝘊𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘖𝘧 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧:

Despite her confident personality, Erika has shown that she can be very highly critical of herself and also demanding of herself, as shown in how she overworks and puts too much pressure on herself.

• 𝘚𝘦𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘵 𝘊𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘈𝘯𝘹𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘺:

Although she is not diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder until her second year of high school, her anxiety has caused her to think of the worst case scenario after enduring a lot, such as losing nationals, her knee injury and after other events. While she learns to manage it better as time passes on, sometimes it can be very overwhelming for her.

• 𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘕𝘦𝘨𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘴 𝘏𝘦𝘳 𝘌𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘗𝘩𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭-𝘉𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨:

It wasn't until she injured her knee to the point of a chance no recovery that she realized how much she ignored her physical well-being and also emotional well-being, how many burdens she carried and how much pressure she put on herself. She learns how to take care of herself better in the story line and shows great improvement in further events.

• 𝘖𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘛𝘰𝘰 𝘚𝘦𝘭𝘧𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴:

Much like her prone to overworking, putting too much pressure on herself plus her kindness and willingness to help others, sometimes Erika has been known to be too selfless despite not being a pushover, this is caused by the guilt that resulted from her past and how she always wishes to prevent anything bad from happening.

• 𝘍𝘭𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘦𝘭𝘧-𝘌𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘮:

Mixed with her confidence on what others see and the high pressure she puts on herself, her self-esteem shows to rather fluctuate due to mood swings, her anxiety and her fear of failure and such.

• 𝘚𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘛𝘰 𝘊𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘮:

Despite being willing to learn from others and being willing to take constructive criticism, towards any form of criticism, whether it's constructive or destructive Erika can be quite sensitive to it behind the scenes.

• 𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘥𝘳𝘢𝘸 𝘌𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺:

Whether it's her memories revisiting the past, is over stimulated from the events of the day, has a lot on her mind or is dealing with a lot, Erika will sometimes emotionally withdraw and will be lost in her own thoughts, she will speak to those close to her but she won't show much expression or response.

• 𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘎𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘓𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘐𝘯 𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵:

Sometimes, on the court, in class or any other time, Erika can get lost easily in thought. She often daydreams and has a bad habit of doing it at the worst times some times.

• 𝘖𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴:

While others are attracted to her beauty, her personality and such, she can often be oblivious to romantic advances, as often shown throughout the events of the series.

• 𝘈𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬:

While Erika is intelligent, she sometimes struggles with academic work and sometimes needs to be tutored on the subject, but subjects like math, science and other difficult subjects can often be difficult for her to grasp, she can get it but it might take her sometime.

• 𝘚𝘦𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨:

While her sister Etsuko is skilled in sewing, Erika has shown to struggle with it. She can do it simple just to fix things, but other than that, she acknowledges that Etsuko has more skils than her.

• 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘣𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘯:

A trait that she has inherited from her father, she has shown herself to be very stubborn at times, showing on how she overworks herself, tries to solve a problem by force and can sometimes get impatient.
