𝗦𝗔𝗡 𝗗𝗜𝗘𝗚𝗢, 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗔

"You promise to be there the whole time?!" Dinah asked me with a smile before groaning loudly in pain as the doctors rolled her to a delivery room

Worrying about the different possibilities was heavy on my mind and the cause of this sudden stress was the fact the baby is coming extremely premature.

"Yes, baby, I promise," I promised as I kept pace with the doctors as they rolled her into the room, quickly attaching her to the monitors and IVs.

Tears began to stream down her face as she screamed in pain causing me to rub her knuckles as I held her hand.

"Wait, wait. Doc, we have a big problem!" The nurse then said causing me to look at her sharply as the doctor rushed over to see the problem

"What's the problem?!" I asked franticly as the doctor began to check her uterus

"Her cervix has been dilated for about 3 days and the bleeding has already begun and the baby won't drop...we need to perform an emergency c-section. Sir, I'm going to need you to leave the room!" The doctor urged as worry began apparent over Dinah's face as well

"What do you mean I have to leave, she's my wife?!" I asked angrily

"Sir, you have to leave or we will have to have you removed. Time is precious in this matter, please just follow our procedure!" The doctor asked pleadingly causing me to look down at Dinah

"Baby, go, I will see you when it's done. Just pray for me." She said causing my eyes to soften as I leaned down quickly kissing her

"I love you!" I declared as the nurses began calmly taking me away

"I love you too, Mushy, always." She replied with tears forming and falling from her eyes as she made a small smile appear over me as she teased at my nickname she'd given me

"She'll be fine." The nurse said with a smile before she closed the doors to the room

I walked over to the side looking through the glass windows looking at Dinah and how scared she looked causing tears to sprawl from my eyes.

"I love you," I said aloud as my heart began to pound seeing other doctors rush down the halls into the room

"Sweetie, I think you should come and sit with us." Dinah's mom said gently grabbing my hand

"She's going to be okay, Mrs. Washington, right?" I asked beginning to panic

"Dinah's a strong woman." She said beginning to walk me back to the sitting area where the rest of my frogmen sat with their hats laid low until they sat me causing them to rise to their feet and make their way toward me

"We pray all is well Commander!" They said grandly causing me to laugh lowly as I shook my head

Before Dinah joined the squad they barely knew Lucifer was a fallen angel and now I know they know 5 Biblical stories by heart.

That's all that woman does is pray and I wasn't stopping her, even when she'd just joined my seal squad, was second in charge after me. I hated the mere thought of her for no reason and now I couldn't see myself without her.

"Aye! Lieutenant, what do you think about the man in charge bringing in a new hotshot right after training?!" Franks asked as we began packing our gear for our deployment

"I think he better watch his mouth and fall in line, brother!" I replied with a smile as I slipped on my sunglasses

"Haven't you heard, this he ain't a he. She's been the talk all day around the base." Ross then said causing me to take my Ray-Ban's completely off as I turned and damn near yelled "What?"

"Yes, sir, and she's hotter than my Mama's good ole' southern cooking!" Banks then said causing me to laugh

"Yeah, that's all she's gonna be to the team, a fucking distraction...can baby cakes even shoot a rifle without complaining about shoulder pain when it kicks back?" I said while placing the guns in their cases and loading them onto the cargo plane

"That's cold man," Houston added with a laugh

"Alright, team, I've got an announcement!" Boone said catching all of our attention as we turned seeing he was with a brown-skinned girl that stood about 5'6

"This is Lieutenant Junior Grade, Dinah Washington, and I want you boys to give her a warm Seal Squad 6 welcome!" He announced as she stepped forward

"Welcome aboard, Sweetface!" I said sarcastically

I then reached to cup her cheek causing her to briskly grab my hand and before she could twist it I slipped beneath her arm carefully twisting and pushing her against the wall. She then stomped on my foot causing me to let go as she quickly slipped her arms between my thighs lifting, then slamming me to the ground.

She then rested her knee on my jaw and said "Now, give me a reason I shouldn't shoot you with a rubber bullet?"

"She can also take all of you tough men out in under two minutes, she's just taking it easy on pretty boy here." Boone then said as I grunted in pain and the guys snickered lowly

"Who's to say I'm not taking it easy on her?!" I groaned

"I'll let you get up and we can stand toe to toe. Either way, I'll knock you back on your ass" She threatened

"1, 2, 3!" Ross counted as she kept a firm hold on me causing my eyes to roll angrily

"Aye!!!" The boys cheered as she let me up with a smile as the guys cheered

"Now that ain't every day you see someone put Colton Andrews on his mighty pink ass!" Houston said causing our newbie to laugh

"Haha!" I voiced sarcastically

"I'd just like to wholeheartedly welcome you! My grannie always taught me how to treat a lady unlike dumbass here." Banks said causing me to glare at him

"Well thank you all!" Washington then said with a smile before she turned to me holding her hand out for me to shake causing me to look at it before walking away
