The body fell to the ground, and the warmth of life was stripped away by death's icy embrace, the crimson blood rushing out of her open wound and tainting the once pristine ground with one taken too soon. Her chest laid still, no flickers of life, a sign that she was truly gone.

The impact of Jenna's limp, lifeless body was synced with Evelyn's scream who watched her, stood still in her spot, paralysed, and having no power in her to save her aunt in time.

━━━━━━━━━━

Β Β  Gasping for air, Evelyn's hands immediately touched her chest, heartbeat thudding rapidly. Her hands shook uncontrollably and blood was pounding through her ears, unable to speak.

Despite her blurry vision, Evelyn ran out of bed and entered the bathroom, emptying and throwing up the contents. It felt as if her lungs weren't there as she tried to bring air in. She could feel her muscles straining and the thoughts in her head turned from fear to a dizzy confusion.

She ran out and reached for her phone from the nightstand, whimpering and afraid as she called Jenna, her hands twitching as she paced around the room.

Ring after ring, there was no response.

She ran out her room, banging her fist against Jeremy's door. "Jeremy! Please open the door."

Jeremy opened the door meeting the sight of his sister hysterically crying and breathing heavily. "EJ? What happened?" He cupped her cheeks, staring into her eyes that were wide and full of terror

"C– Call Jenna," she rasped.

"What?" He furrowed his eyebrows.

"Jeremy call her!" She screamed. "Call her!" Jeremy nodded, running back into room to find his phone.

Rubbing her eyes, Elena stepped out her room and confused as to why her twin was screaming in the middle of night. "Eve?" She placed a hand on her shoulder, turning her around.

Evelyn's body grew tense to the point of shaking,Β  mouth agape and uncertain whether to breath or scream. "Hey, what happened?" Elena asked, searching Evelyn's wide eyes.

"Aunt J. Nightmare," she spoke in a suffocated whisper and aggressively scratching her arms. Elena's drifted to them, stopping her from doing it anymore further.

"Come here." Elena brought her arms out forward.

"No." Evelyn shook her head. "I want Jenna. I need her." She shut her eyes tightly. "She's going to leave me too."

"Jeremy." Jenna awoke from her sleep as she answered her nephew's call.

"Why are you calling me in the middle of night? Has something happened?"

"It's EJ. She woke up screaming and crying to call you," Jeremy frantically spoke as he watched Elena trying to calm Evelyn and taking her downstairs into the kitchen.

Jenna now fully awake, sat up straight. "Give it to her." Jeremy ran to his sister, handing the phone.

Vision still glossy, Evelyn took it with shaking hands and pressed it against her ear. "Hey, Evie," Jenna spoke in a soft voice.

"Aunt J," Evelyn sobbed. "I was calling you so many times. I was so scared."

"You want to tell me what happened?"

"You left me." The tears were freely rolling down her cheeks. "There was so much blood everywhere and I couldn't save you. I lost you."

Elena and Jeremy glanced over to each other, a look of bewilderment on their faces.

"Hey, i'm here. I'm not going anywhere. It was just a nightmare," Jenna reassured her niece.

"It felt so real." Evelyn bit on her lip as she wiped her tears away. "I don't want to lose you too like mom and dad. Please don't leave me."

"I'm never leaving you." But Evelyn's quiet sobs could still be heard and Jenna sighed. "I'll be back home tomorrow, okay?"

"Pinky swear?" Evelyn sniffled. "I can't even use my pinky over the phone," she pouted and Jenna laughed.

"Pinky swear," Jenna said. "Now get some sleep."

Evelyn murmured a goodbye and hid her face behind her hands, trying to control her breathing and sobs. The image of Jenna's lifeless body still fixed in her mind.

She felt a hand stroke her hair and looked up as Jeremy sent her a warm smile along with Elena.

"Come on, let's go back to bed," Jeremy spoke up.

"No." Evelyn shook her head, eyes beginning to grow wild as ever. "Please don't make me. I don't want to sleep. The nightmares scare me so much. They don't go away." She tightened her grip around Jeremy's hand, eyes flickering between her siblings.

Jeremy and Elena sighed. "You have to sleep," Elena softly spoke as she brushed Evelyn's hair away from her face.

"Please. I can't," Evelyn pleaded.

"We'll stay with you," Jeremy suggested.

"You will?" Evelyn asked and Jeremy nodded. She hesitated for a moment then nodded, standing up as he wrapped an arm around her and led her back upstairs.

Laying down, Elena slept besides her sister and stroked her hair to lull her to sleep and Evelyn turned to her side, holding onto Jeremy's hand as he rubbed circles on the back of it.

Feeling her consciousness ebbing away, and her thoughts coming to an end. Her eyes grew heavy from the overwhelming effects of excessive agitation of the brain, and slowly she drifted off to a deep slumber.

It was just a nightmare right?

━━━━━━━━━━

She stared at herself in front of the mirror, the sight in front made her grimace. Her eyes were puffy from crying last night and her skin slightly pale. "Urgh," she mumbled.

Turning on the tap, Evelyn washed her hands under the running water, humming when a glow mirrored against the water. She paused, staring down at her hands.

"What in the fruity flavour? I really do have superpowers," she whispered, watching as the glow disappeared.

Turning off the tap, Evelyn quickly reached out for a towel but a small scream escaped her lips when the towel and everything around her in the bathroom levitated in the air then settled back down back in it's space.

Evelyn gasped, "But I didn't say motus."

She heard footsteps approaching towards the bathroom and jumped up in surprise when she reached for the handle but the door slammed shut by itself. "What the hell?"

"Eve? Everything okay?" She heard Elena speaking.

"Y– yeah," Evelyn cleared her throat. "Yeah."

"Okay. I made breakfast for you," Elena said.

"Thank you. I'll be down in a second." Evelyn stared down at her hands, the light on her palm flickering as she tried to calm herself.

Giving herself one last look at the mirror, she took a deep breath before she stepped out of the bathroom.

She needed to tell Bonnie about this.

━━━━━━━━━━

Klaus in Alaric's body, grimaced at the coloured flannels that hung in the closet.

"Who is this guy, Safari Sam?" The Original snorted and selected two that weren't too hideous. He turned from the closet and held them up, showing them off to Katherine, who was compelled to sit in a chair.

"Okay, bad or badder?" Klaric asked the feared vampire.

"The dark colours suit you better," Katherine said reluctantly.

"Oh, thank you, honey." He tossed the other one onto the bed and then turned back to her. "Okay, pop quiz. The dagger and white ash are in the Salvatore's possession, correct?"

"The dagger was used to kill Elijah. You'll find him in the basement of the Salvatore house," Katherine informed him.

"Okay, that dagger needs to stay exactly where it is. The last thing I need to do is resurrect Elijah. Oh, that guy is a buzz kill," he sighed.

"Don't forget you're on the outs with your girlfriend, Jenna," Katherine pointed out.

"Right. Elena's aunt," he nodded. "For all the lies about Isobel. What else?"

"That's it."

Klaric walked over and stroked her face gently. Katherine gasped at the contact, moving her head away. "Oh, so jumpy," he grinned, enjoying her frightened state.

"Please, just kill me. I've told you everything that I know," she whimpered slightly.

He leaned closer to her. "You see, I believe that you believe that, but what would you not know? What could they be keeping from you? Hmm? Anything?" He looked her in the eyes, compelling her. "Tell me."

"They were trying to see if Bonnie could find a way to kill an Original without a dagger."

"Bonnie the best friend?" He stood up. "I thought you said she didn't have her powers anymore."

"She doesn't or didn't. I don't know. You kidnapped me, remember? I'm kinda out of the loop," she retorted.

"Well, we'll just have to get to the bottom of that," he stated.

"What's her name?" He asked and Katherine arched a brow, confused. "Don't act like you didn't know about my soulmate."

"It's Evelyn."

He sighed with a smile on his face. "Evelyn. A beautiful name for a beautiful girl. Oh, I can't wait to meet her again."

"Again?"

"We met last night. She's interesting," Klaus mused as he remembered last nights event.

"You do know Elena is her sister. They're twins."

Klaus inhaled a deep breath, annoyance in his tone, "I know."

"Her family means a lot to her. She'll hate you." He rolled his eyes at Katherine's remark and changed the subject.

"Did you ever hurt her?" He asked with a serious tone.

"No. I was going to give her to you." Katherine shook her head. "I know how much she means to you, I wouldn't hurt her."

"Good," he nodded, satisfied with the answer.

"Please, just kill me, Klaus, and be done with it," she begged him.

"And show you kindness? I've searched for you for over 500 years. Your death is going to last at least half that long."

He pulled a knife from his pocket. "I want you to take this knife and stab yourself." He handed Katherine the knife and she jabbed the knife into her leg, crying out in pain. "Now, take it out." She hissed as she took it out. "Now, while I'm gone, I want you to do that over and over and over again, and if you get bored, switch legs."

"Where are you going?" Katherine asked.

"I'm gonna go lay eyes on my precious soulmate," he smiled.

"Don't look so glum, Katerina. The fun is just beginning." He walked towards the door, grabbing his coat. "Again," he smirked and left the room as she stabbed her leg.

Evelyn poured herself a glass of orange juice, silently eating her breakfast as her mind wondered back to what happened just moments ago. "At least i'm not losing my mind," she murmured to herself.

"Good morning." Jeremy stood behind his sister, snapping her back to reality as he stole a toast from her plate.

"Jeremy." Evelyn turned watching as Jeremy moved around to gather his things for school. "I– I need to talk to you." She fiddled with her fingers, occasionally glancing down at her hands.

"Is it important? I really need to go now." He looked up as he fixed the strap of his backpack over his shoulder.

"Actually– it's okay." Evelyn waved it off and he nodded, pulling her in a quick hug and left.

She blew out a breath, grabbing her bag and locked up the house as she drove herself to the boarding house.

━━━━━━━━━━

"Are you okay?" Bonnie noticed the way Evelyn knees bounced up and down, staring down at her palms. "Eve?" She placed her hand on top of Evelyn's.

Evelyn glanced at Elena from across her who was signing on the paper for the deed on the house. She moved closer to Bonnie, whispering, "We need to talk about my superpower situation." Bonnie nodded.

"So this place is both of yours? They just gave it to you two?" Bonnie changed the subject.

"For now. As sole owners we're the only ones that are allowed to invite certain people, if you know what I mean," Elena mused with a smile.

"Your own personal safe house," Bonnie surmised.

"That's the idea," Elena nodded.

"Wouldn't want to clean it," Bonnie murmured, looking around the house and they laughed.

Once the paperwork was done, they led the lawyer out and bid him goodbye. Damon and Stefan were about to enter but the invisible barrier blocked them.

"I'm sorry. I completely forgot," Elena said. "Stefan, would you like to come inside our house?" She asked with a smile.

"I would love to. Thank you," Stefan smiled and walked in, ruffling Evelyn's hair and she swatted his hand away, reaching out to mess his hero hair.

"Oh wait, let me do this one." Evelyn pointed to Damon and rubbed her hands together. "This is gonna be fuuun." She leaned against the door.

"What are we 12?" He rolled his eyes.

"One of us is," she smirked at him. "If I let you in do you promise to obey the owners of this house?"

"No," he scoffed and she tutted with a shake of her head. "Come on!" He whined.

"Hm– then you can sleep outside. The cold ground does look comfy for you," she teased and he groaned in annoyance.

"Fine then. I'll obey you," he said in one tone.

"Ha!" She cleared her throat. "I mean please, come in," she smiled and he returned it back with a fake one.

He jerked his body towards her and she quickly moved back. "Ha! Look who's scared now," he mocked her.

"I wasn't scared," she scoffed.

"Hmm sure you weren't," he smirked as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder. She pushed him away, a cute glare on her face.

"Wait, where are you going?" Stefan asked them.

"To school," Elena simply replied.

"No, no, no, we didn't create a safe house for you to leave it," Damon shook his head.

"Yeah, guys. Klaus is out there. We know that." Stefan said.

Evelyn rolled her eyes. She now gave up on them for not calling him 'Kevin.' They just couldn't follow one simple instruction.

"Right. But where is he?" Evelyn pointed out. "No one knows or met him."

"And don't worry, i'm ready if he shows his face I can take him. Know how," Bonnie nodded confidently.

"The way I see it, next to Bonnie is the safest place that I can be. Come on," Elena said as they all walked away but Evelyn stopped, turning around to face Damon.

"I want this house dusted and cleaned from top to bottom and make dinner too. I want a creamy chicken pasta and i'm in the mood to have a chocolate fudge cake for dessert. You know since i'm the new owner of this house," Evelyn teased him and ran before he could grab her.

"You're going to regret this Eve!" He called out.

"Make sure to clean the toilets too!" Evelyn laughed.

"This girl drives me crazy," he mumbled and took a sip of his bourbon.

Oh how he loved having Evelyn as his best friend.

━━━━━━━━━━

"Hey, beautiful," Caroline grinned as she tackled Evelyn from behind and she giggled, embracing the blonde in a hug.

"Hey." They walked over to where Elena were next to the lockers.

"You both coming to the 60's dance? You have to. I planned it and if you don't then i'll be super upset especially with you, Eve," Caroline rambled as they shared a laugh.

"Don't worry. I'll be there," Evelyn reassured her.

"And you need a date for it." Elena leaned against the lockers.

"I already have a date," Evelyn smiled.

"Who?" Caroline nudged her shoulder.

"Bonnie."

Elena and Caroline smiled at each other and cheered. "Yes!"

"Right, so I was thinking–" Elena started but Evelyn tuned out their conversation when she felt an itch and hissed quietly to herself, her eyes darted down to her hands, panic in her eyes.

"Um– How about you guys head to class. I need to go to the bathroom first," Evelyn said.

"Okay."

Evelyn smiled, fading as soon as Caroline and Elena disappeared out of her sight.

She rushed into the empty bathroom, locking the door as she glanced down at her glowing palm. "No. Please disappear," she panicked. Having no clue what to do she decided to run it under the tap but nothing was working. "Shit!"

She could feel her chest tightening and leaned against the wall as she muttered to herself, "Take deep breaths, Eve. 1... 2... 3." She held her right wrist tightly as she shut her eyes and took deep breaths.

She opened them and glanced back down to see it had disappeared.

"Eve?" Bonnie knocked on the door. "Elena told me you're in the bathroom."

Evelyn opened the door, gently pushing Bonnie inside and locked the door. "I'm sorry we couldn't speak earlier, I had to do something. What happened?"

"Eve?" Evelyn whirled around to face her.

"My hands were glowing, Bon," she whispered and Bonnie eyes widened. "It's real."

"I don't know how but it just randomly appeared and everything around me was suddenly moving too this morning at home. I can't control it. Something's happening and I don't know what to do," she expressed her concern, freaking out slightly.

Bonnie placed both hands on her forearms and sensed the amount of magic coursing through Evelyn's body. "Wow, you really are strong," she muttered.

"Bonnie! Not helping," Evelyn scolded.

"Sorry. Okay for now I just need you to remain calm and I'll find something in my grimoire or a spell to control it."

"Thank you."

━━━━━━━━━━

"Hello, class." Klaric entered the room.

He searched the room to find Elena sat down behind her desk but was disappointed when Evelyn was nowhere to be seen.

"Sorry we're late," Evelyn said when she entered the class with Bonnie trailing behind her.

He turned to his side, looking at Evelyn smiling at him. It was warm with a hint of shyness, it was one of happiness growing, much as a spring flower opens.

His thoughts were interrupted when he realised he had a class to teach and now that she was here it was going to be hard for him to concentrate.

"It's okay. Take a seat." He cleared his throat. "The– uh– ahem– 60's. I wish there was something good I could say about the 60's."

"Actually they kind of sucked. Except for the Beatles, they made it bearable. Uh, what else was there?" He tried not to make eye contact with her but she was distracting him too much.

Be a gentleman. He scolded himself and averted his eyes away.

"The cuban missile thing. We walked on the moon. There was Watergate." He listed when a soft voice interrupted him.

"That's wrong, Ric. Watergate was the 70s," Evelyn spoke with both her hands resting on the side of her face, smiling cheekily.

He stopped and froze listening to her sweet, angelic voice that weakened his knees.

"Eveyln," Elena whispered-shouted besides her.

"What?" She whispered and Elena shook her head. "Mr Saltzman." She corrected herself and he stared at her, his eyes lingering a bit too long.

He looked away before someone could call him a creep.

"Right. It all kind of mushes together up here, the 60's, 70's. Thank you, Evelyn." He smiled at her and turned back to the board, taking a huge deep breath to calm himself down.

She really did have a huge effect on him.

Evelyn looked around and her eyes captured Bonnie's as she mouthed a 'are you feeling better?" Evelyn nodded.

She returned her attention back to the board, sighing when her mind drifted back to last night. The handsome stranger. Nik.

She wondered if she would ever meet him again.

"Evelyn." A voice whispered and she turned her head to see one of her classmates, named Tom calling her. "So I was wondering if you'd like to be my date for the 60s dance?" He asked nervously.

Evelyn sighed, losing count at how many times he would ask her out but he wouldn't get the hint that she wasn't interested in him.

"Oh– uh." Evelyn tried to be polite and decline him without hurting his feelings again.

Klaric sat behind his desk watching Evelyn when he heard the boy speaking to her. "You!" He called out. "Detention." He glared down at the boy who slumped back in his seat.

"But it's the dance tonight," Tom argued with him.

"Then you shouldn't have spoke in my class," he shrugged, restraining himself from killing the boy right there.

His eyes drifted over to the innocent beauty who was laughing quietly, a hand over her mouth to stop herself.

'Thank you.' She mouthed the words and smiled bringing out the small, deep dimples on both cheeks which made him smile in return.

━━━━━━━━━━

"I don't understand why you can't tell, EJ," Jeremy argued with Bonnie in the canteen. "She's going to be upset if she finds out herself."

"She has a lot going on, Jeremy. I don't want to hurt her more," Bonnie whispered to him and he rolled his eyes at her.

"Jemmie! How you doing my baby bro?" Evelyn exclaimed as her and Elena approached Bonnie and Jeremy.

"I'm fine," he muttered and Evelyn frowned at the way he was acting.

"Are you okay at the house alone with John?" Elena asked him.

"It's not ideal," Jeremy said as he stood up and grabbed his bag.

"Have you heard from Jenna?" Evelyn asked.

A small smile appeared on Jeremy's face. "She'll be here in the afternoon just like she promised,"

Evelyn's smile brightened. "Yay!"

"I'm late for class." He kissed Evelyn on the forehead and left before she could ask why he seemed upset.

"Okay, why is he grumpy? What's got his panties in a twist?" Evelyn asked Bonnie.

"He told me he has a physics test and he didn't revise for it at all," Bonnie answered.

"Typical. I even offered to help him," Evelyn scoffed.

"Hey, Eve." Dana approached their table. "This is gonna sound freaky, but this totally hot guy just asked me to ask you if you're going to the dance tonight?"

"Tell him that I'm sorry but I already have a hot date." She pointed to Bonnie.

"You could at least meet him. He'll be at the dance tonight. Look for him, his name is Klaus," Dana smiled.

"Kevin?!" Evelyn choked on her food and Elena rubbed her back, offering her water.

"I'm sorry, what did you just say?" Elena asked.

"His name's Klaus," Dana said with confusion. "I know the name is stupid but I swear he is hot."

"That's why I call him Kevin," Evelyn mumbled.

"Where is he? Is he here?" Bonnie asked as she took a glance around the canteen.

"I dont know," Dana looked confused.

"She's been compelled," Elena whispered.

"He told me to give you this as well." Dana handed her a white rose and a note then left them.

Evelyn read the note and gasped. "What the hell?!"

"What does it say?" Bonnie asked.

Evelyn shoved the note in Elena's and Bonnie's face.

True beauty is a work of art.
Save me a dance?
- Klaus

"This is creepy," Bonnie murmured.

"Creepy? He could be obsessed for all we know!" Evelyn exclaimed, freaked out with the rose and message.

━━━━━━━━━━

Evelyn walked past Alaric's class and took step backs, entering his room. "Hey, Ric."

Klaus was once again tongue tied as his eyes raked over at her natural beauty he never got tired of.

Now that she was here in the flesh, he wanted nothing more than to get back in his original body and whisk her away, keeping her by his side forever.

"Hey Eve," he smiled. "Is everything okay?"

"I'm great!" She nodded with a melodic laughter. Her smile and laughter were just as beautiful as it had been in his dreams.

"Aunt J is coming back today. I missed her so much." She was chattering away and he could sense she hadn't been happy in a while.

How long has this been going on? He wondered.

"I'm going off topic now. I actually came here to ask how you're feeling. After what happened with Jenna?" She asked.

"I'm doing okay." He kept his answer short, not wanting to bait himself out.

"Just give her some time, Ric. She's hurt and needs time to heal." She gave him a reassuring smile.

He gazed down at her eyes for a moment, they were so hypnotising, in fact everything was hypnotic about her. His paintings didn't do much justice to her beauty.

"Ric!" She whisper-shouted pulling him out his thoughts. "Guess what?"

"What– what's wrong?" He cleared his throat.

"Did you hear?" She glanced around then moved closer to him before she whispered to him.

Wait till you get back in your own body. He scolded himself.

"He's here. He's going to be at the dance. Do you think he'll hurt Elena?" He knew she was referring to himself.

His dreams about her did not fail him. She was innocent, pure and kind hearted. She definitely did not have a mean bone in her body. A total opposite of what he is.

An angel he didn't deserve.

Perhaps that's what drew people to her. It certainly did to him.

"Maybe he wants to scare her," he shrugged.

"Well he's lame," she scoffed and he smiled in amusement.

"I found this so funny. He compelled Dana to tell us he's hot and here I thought Damon's ego was too big," she snickered and he frowned in disappointment.

Ouch

"Maybe he's a pot belly man," Evelyn laughed and he loved hearing this sound.

"That's disturbing. Ew." She shivered removing an image of a pot bellied man named Klaus from her mind.

"I doubt that." He faked a laugh.

Evelyn eyed him for a moment then shrugged it off. "Maybe he's not."

He glanced at the rose and note she had in her hand. "What's that?"

"It's a rose. He gave it to me and a note as well." She held it up for him to read, and he hid a smirk. "He asked me for a dance. Creepy right?" He chuckled at her oblivious boldness.

"Hey, at least he made a lucky guess. White roses are my favourite and it is so beautiful," she said, playing with the flower.

Not as beautiful as you, my love

"But he's still a weirdo," Evelyn added.

Ouch x2

"Anyways. I should be leaving," she said and he nodded.

He placed a hand on her lower back as he escorted her out of the class. She gasped when an image flashed through her mind and stopped walking.

Evelyn stood in the middle of the woods, a full moon and fire surrounding her when she witnessed a couple of figures too, one caught her attention and that was Elena.

"Elena!" Evelyn screamed but no one heard her.

And the next thing she saw were a pair of yellow eyes and vampire fangs just like her other dreams.

"Evelyn?" Klaric called her when he witnessed her stood still in her spot and she flinched slightly at what she just witnessed. "Are you okay?"

"Y– Yeah," she nodded, feeling a little afraid.

"Are you sure?" He asked and she nodded again with a reassuring smile.

He kept his hands behind his back before he made it uncomfortable for her. The last thing he wanted to do was to scare her especially in the body of the man who she sees as a father figure.

"Bye Ric," she said and he watched her walk away. "Stupid superpowers," she mumbled whilst glancing down at her hands.

"I need to get back in my body soon," he groaned lowly.

━━━━━━━━━━

"So we go to the dance. We find him," Damon spoke after he and Stefan were told what happened.

"Really? How are we going to do that?" Stefan asked. "We don't even know what he looks like."

"Something tells me he's not going to be 16 and pimply," Damon shrugged.

"I think he looks like a pot belly man with a bald head," Evelyn voiced her opinion.

"He could be anywhere, at anytime. He compelled somebody at school," Stefan said. "I guess it's not safe as you guys thought, huh?"

Then a knock was heard from the door and Klaric entered. "Finally made it Ric!" Evelyn exclaimed, waving her hands in the air.

"Sorry i'm late."

"Hey, I need you to put me in as a chaperone at the dance tonight. Klaus made his first move," Damon told him and he nodded.

"Okay, so we find him and then do what?" Elena asked. "What's our plan of attack?"

"Me," Bonnie simply said. "I'm the plan. He has no idea how much power I can channel. If you can find him, I can kill him."

"That's not going to be that easy," Klaric spoke. Evelyn tilted her head and looked at him in confusion. "I mean, he is the biggest baddest vampire around," he corrected himself.

"He also sounds like an asshole," Evelyn said and he frowned.

Ouch x3

"Alaric has a point. I mean what if he," Damon began and sped over towards Bonnie but she used her powers and sent him flying across the room.

Evelyn bursted out in laughter and clapped, jumping up and down. Klaus smiled seeing this sight of her. She was a lively soul.

"Well, I'm impressed," Stefan smirked.

"Me too. Bon do it again, I want this on video." Evelyn pulled out her phone.

"No!" Damon grunted and got up. "That was not cool," he muttered, snatching Evelyn's phone off her and she pouted.

"It doesn't matter if he's an Original." Bonnie got back to the topic. "I can take down anyone who comes at me. I can kill him, Elena. I know I can," she reassured her while Klaric tensed at this but relaxed before anyone could see.

"We also have something else to tell you guys," Evelyn spoke up.

"What is it?" Stefan asked.

"Klaus sent her a rose and note," Elena blurted out.

"What?!" The brothers exclaimed.

"What has she got to do with it?" Damon asked putting an arm around her shoulder which Klaus glared at.

"That's the thing. We don't know but all I could think of is he's a complete nutcase!" Evelyn exclaimed and he frowned again.

Ouch x4

"Or maybe he's just getting a rise out of us because you're my sister," Elena pointed out.

"Maybe," Stefan mumbled.

"It was a cute rose though." Evelyn let out a small laugh and Klaus smiled as he looked down at the ground, hoping no one noticed.

Stop blushing. He scolded.

"Well you're not leaving my sight, cupcake." Damon kissed the side of her head and she buried her face in his chest, making Klaus want to kill Damon.

━━━━━━━━━━

Evelyn shut the front door when she heard a familiar voice, "Hey Evie."

She squealed, running and pulled Jenna in a hug. "Aunt J. I missed you," she whispered.

"I'm here." Jenna caressed her hair.

"You're home," she mumbled.

"Jeremy told me about the dance, so how about I do your makeup and hair," Jenna said as they pulled away.

"I'd love that," Evelyn beamed. "Are you staying or going back to the campus?"

"Staying," Jenna smiled.Β

━━━━━━━━━━

Evelyn and Bonnie stepped into the school hall, with their arms looped around each other, just in time when Dana announced on the mic.

"We have a special shout out tonight. This is for Evelyn. From Klaus." The crowd cheered and applauded as the song played and Klaric smirked from a distance amongst the crowd.

Evelyn inhaled sharply and everyone in their group looked around warily as "Dedicated to The One I Love" by The Mamas and The Papas came over the speakers.

"Can this man get any creepier," Evelyn mumbled.

Her eyes met Alaric's, smiling at her. She waved back, but was perplexed. This was Alaric so why was she getting weird vibes off him?

"Come on. Let's dance." Evelyn took Bonnie to the dance floor.

Bonnie swayed her from side to side, her arms around Evelyn's waist as she managed to break her out of her thoughts, making Evelyn look at her with a smile. "Relax," Bonnie told her.

"I am," Evelyn then took Bonnie's hand and twirled her around, hearing her laugh.

"Special dedication, huh?" Klaric asked as Damon slid over besides him. "This guy's a little twisted."

"I'm not impressed," Damon muttered.

"No?"

"No, but I'm confused why he's bothering Eve of all people?" Damon mumbled which he didn't miss hearing. "Let me know if you see anything out of whack."

The Original then saw a cheerful Evelyn skipping over to them and his eyes raked over at the outfit she was wearing. She could pull off anything and she would still look beautiful.

"Damon, dance with me." Evelyn tugged on his hand then turned to Alaric.

"Hey, Ric. You look good," she smiled at him.

"Thank you and you look beautiful, Eve." He complimented and she smiled.

He couldn't wait to get back in his body.

"Damon. Dance," Evelyn pouted and Damon sighed.

"Come on." Damon took her to the dance floor and they swayed to the music.

"For a guy who has lived for over a hundred years, you sure are a terrible dancer," Evelyn remarked.

"Oh come on, you love this. Just because you're a professional dancer doesn't mean it beats this," he said as he moved around like a maniac. "Now show me some of your moves." He grabbed her hand and twirled her around as she giggled.

From afar, Klaus watched Evelyn enjoying her time. She was holding onto Damon as she leaned against him for comfort. He couldn't help but notice how close she and Damon were. He hated it.

He needed to find out what was truly going on between Damon and Evelyn. Or what Damon's intentions were towards the brunette.

━━━━━━━━━━

Evelyn's head was resting against Jeremy's chest, eyes closed as they danced slowly to the music.

Her attention was then focused on Damon and Bonnie, speaking and wondered what was going on.

Damon's eyes met Evelyn's, smirking as he kept Bonnie close in his arms and tried to make her jealous. Evelyn rolled her eyes, shaking her head and looked back at Jeremy.

"Are you okay?" She asked when he looked upset and annoyed.

"Fine." Jeremy looked at her. "I'm fine. I need some air." He walked away and Evelyn frowned.

"What's up with him?" Caroline asked as she took a sip of her drink.

"I don't know," she shrugged, still looking at the direction he left. "Maybe he's on his man period."

"Hmm," Caroline nodded.

"Anyways, you owe me a dance." She took a hold of Caroline's hand and dragged her into the crowd.

Whilst dancing with Caroline, Evelyn eyes wandered around her suddenly catching Damon and Stefan in a heated conversation. "I'll be back," she told Caroline as she made her way over to the brothers.

"Does Eve know Bonnie's on a suicide mission to kill Klaus?" Stefan asked Damon.

"That's why we won't tell her. She'll stop Bonnie so she's going to stay with Caroline until this is all over," Damon stated.

"This is going break her!" Stefan scowled at him.

"What?" They turned their heads, Evelyn shocked from hearing what they were talking about. "What do you mean Bonnie is on a suicide mission?"

"Evie," Stefan began but she cut him off.

"Another secret? Why wouldn't you tell me?!" Evelyn shouted.

"Eve–" Evelyn turned away, running out of the hall to find Bonnie.

"Where is she? I'm not letting this happen," she said.

She made her way into the hallway when she found Jeremy being beaten up by a group of boys. Her eyes were filled with fury and she ran up to them. "Hey! Assholes! You're so dead for touching him," she scowled.

Before anything else could happen they shot Damon with a crossbow. "Let me guess. Klaus says hi," he grunted.

Stefan used his speed, fighting them off while Evelyn crouched down near her brother who was laying on the floor. "Jer, are you ok? Are you hurt?" She asked, checking for any injuries.

"Yeah i'm good," he reassured her. She ignored him and cupped his cheeks with her hands, eyes scanning his face and body. "Hey, I'm fine."

"Come on, let's get you out of here." She held onto his hand tightly and headed towards the car outside.

"EJ," Jeremy began.

"You knew," Evelyn stated. "And none of you told me."

"I wanted to," he tried to explain. "I told Bonnie to tell you."

"Go straight home," she said with a stern face and Jeremy was about to protest. "Go home, Jeremy!" She shouted at him.

━━━━━━━━━━

Entering the hall once again Evelyn searched every class. "Where are you, Bon?"

As Evelyn ran, searching for her, she collided onto a chest and let out a small 'oomph' "Hey, hey." Klaric grabbed onto her arms before she could fall and she looked up.

"Ric! Thank God it's you. Klaus– he– uh compelled some boys to hurt Jeremy."

"Did they hurt you?" He asked and Evelyn shook her head.

"Stefan knocked them out and I told Jeremy to go home," she said.

"Come on, let's get you somewhere safe," he said.

"No, Ric, I need to find the others," she protested. "He's going to hurt Elena. I need to protect her."

"You need to be safe," he disagreed and she entered a classroom, running a hand through her hair as she paced around.

"This is useless. We should be out there helping the others," she huffed out in frustration.

She looked back to see Alaric leaning against the door with a smirk on his face. "I had to get away from that dance," he chuckled.

"Um–" She began, not understanding him.

"I hated the 60's," he said.

"Um, Alaric?" She asked. "Are you on vervain?"

"Why would ask me that?" He chuckled.

"Ric? What's going on? You're being weird," she nervously spoke.

"Guess again."

"I don't have time for games. What the–" Her eyes grew bigger when realisation struck her.

"Kevin?!"

Klaus narrowed his eyes at her. "Who the bloody hell is Kevin?!" His jaws clenched.

"My boyfriend," she sassed with an eye roll.

"Where is he?" He asked. Oh he was so ready to kill this Kevin.

She smacked herself on the forehead. "You're Kevin." She pointed at him.

"I'm Kevin?" Klaus looked confused.

"Yes! Your real name gives me the heebie jeebies, idiot." She rested her hands on her hips and tilted her head slightly.

"Did you just call me an idiot?" He asked.

"Yeah, you stupid man." She lifted her head up to show him she wasn't afraid of him.

Ouch. Klaus now lost count.

"Oh my God, he's possessed my history teachers body," she muttered to herself and slowly moved towards the door.

"Anyways nice meeting you." She tried to run but a shriek escaped her mouth when she was backed against the wall, gently.

She trembled, her eyes darting around for anything to help her. "You don't need to fear me."

This ancient old grandpa has traumatised me in the body of my history teacher of course i'm going to freak out.

"Leave me alone." She tried to move away from him.

Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid. She kept telling herself.

"I can't have you interfering my plans so you're going to stay here," he said.

"I said let go, Kevin."

"Stop calling me that," he gritted.

"Kevin."

"Stop."

"Kevin," she giggled. Seriously, Eve? You're giggling when you could die any moment now.

"I think i'm going to need therapy now," she mumbled.

"I don't want to hurt you," he said. Evelyn's eyes then turned into a harsh glare and she smacked his hands away.

"Well, I guess it's a one sided thing then because I do." She kneed him between his legs and he groaned, moving away from her.

"At least it's not mine," he mumbled.

"Weirdo," she snapped and backed away from the wall. She ran towards the door and tried to open it.

"Feisty as well. I love it," he chuckled as he fixed his composure.

She ran behind Alaric's desk and Klaus stood in front of it. "Give up. You can't get out."

"Oh yeah?" She mocked him then looked around and found a hard cover book from a shelf, grabbed it and when he stood in front of her, she harshly smacked it against the side of his face.

"Bloody hell woman!" He touched his face.

"Creep," she hissed and grabbed the back of his neck, slamming his head against the desk and he cried out in pain once again.

"Hey, Ric." She continued to smack Klaric's head against the desk as he tried to fight her off but her grip on his neck seemed too strong. "If you're somewhere in there, i'm sorry for what i'm about to do to your face."

"You are quite strong for a short girl." His voice was muffled.

"Don't call me short!" She snapped.

"Then don't call me Kevin!" He snapped back.

He tried to pry her hands away but she kept a tight hold on him, squeezing his face against the desk.

"Be quiet! As I was saying, Ric if you can hear me, Kevin is possessing your body but don't worry we'll find a priest to perform an exorcism. We'll get you back. Stay strong." With one final smack on his head, she released him.

"You have got to stop hitting me," he groaned as he touched his nose to see blood running down and smirked at her courageous act.

"You compelled those boys to hurt my brother, now you're going to pay for it," she scowled and looked around for anything she could strike at him. Finding text books she threw it towards him as he tried to dodge it.

"Stop it," he warned her.

"No." Evelyn threw a pen pot at him.

"That's enough!"

"Wait. Time out." Evelyn raised her hands up. "Pause." Klaus narrowed his eyes but still listened to her.

"I haven't been to the gym in a while so just give me a moment," she breathed out as she rested her hands on her knees. "Fighting is hard."

"Do you think Ric has a mini refrigerator in here? I need to drink water or lemonade," she asked him and Klaus raised an eyebrow.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

Evelyn searched the drawers and found a packet of Twizzler. "I guess this will do," she said as she sat down on the chair and ate the packet. "Stay right where you are," she pointed to him.

"Okay," he mumbled and awkwardly looked around whilst Evelyn was eating.

"Want one?" Evelyn offered him a Twizzler. "They're really good."

"What?" Klaus asked. Wasn't she just hitting him moments ago? And now she was being nice?

Another textbook hit the back of his head. "You said timeout!" He exclaimed, rubbing his neck when the impact of the book hit him very harshly.

"I lied." She smiled innocently. "It was a distraction. Now where were we?" She found a stapler and threw it at him.

"Stop," he scolded.

"No."

"Don't you dare," he warned her.

"I hope the principle doesn't find out I vandalised the equipment and expels me." Evelyn grabbed a fold up chair, folding it. "I'll pay for the damage."

His eyes widened when she aggressively hit his back and he fell to the ground. "Oh my God, that was very violent. I am so sorry," she grimaced.

"Actually, i'm not sorry, not to you but to Ric and to the school for ruining their equipment. If I get expelled or arrested it's all your fault," she panicked.

"Are you even alive?" She nudged his body with her toe and he released a breath. "Oh that's good. I didn't commit murder. Yay!" She let out a nervous laugh.

"You are astonishing," he said and looked back up.

"You're a creep." Evelyn pushed him back down with her foot and he groaned.

"What are you doing?" He mumbled when Evelyn brought out her phone, her foot still pressed on his back.

"I need evidence to show my friends on the groupchat that I kicked an Original's ass. Say cheese. Oh wait, you can't. Your face is kissing the floor." She clicked a photo of his back.Β

"Make sure to put ice on the nose. Bye."

Evelyn then used this opportunity, yanking the door open immediately and ran away from him. He fixed himself and skidded to a halt towards the door and into the hallway but she had already left.

"Well that was fun," he chuckled.

━━━━━━━━━━

Evelyn spotted Elena and Stefan approaching her. "You're safe. Klaus is in Alaric's body," Elena said and held onto her sister's hand.

"I know. I had quite the pleasure of meeting him," Evelyn murmured and placed a hand on her rapid beating heart.

Their eyes widened. "Did he hurt you?" Stefan asked.

Evelyn smirked at them. "Let's just say he got one heck of nose bleed." And they proudly smiled at her.

"Come on, we have to get Bonnie."

The three ran to find their friend. "There you are." They stopped when Damon stepped in front of them.

"Where's Bonnie?" Evelyn asked frantically.

"She's doing what she has to do," he said.

"What?!" Elena asked.

"Damn it, Damon, where is she?!" Stefan raised his voice.

"Fine, if you won't tell us then we'll find her," Evelyn told him and ran off the other way with Stefan and Elena following behind her. She stopped when she saw Bonnie but she was quick to shut the door.

"Bonnie!" Evelyn shouted as she banged her fist on the door. Stefan then tried to break it but failed.

Evelyn's eyes met Bonnie's as she smiled at her and suddenly collapsed to the floor. Evelyn gasped, finding it difficult to breath.

The door suddenly opened and rushed inside and towards her. Evelyn quickly held Bonnie in her arms. "Bonnie?" She patted her cheek, gently and tried to find her pulse. "I can't find her pulse. No. No. You can't leave me."

"Stefan do something. Give her your blood," Elena told her boyfriend with tears streaming down her face.

Damon came in and Evelyn looked at him. "Damon, please do something," she sobbed. "I can't lose her."

"Stefan, get them out of here. I'll deal with the body," Damon said.

"What do you mean deal with it?" Elena sneered at him.

"The sheriff can't know about this. The last thing we need is another mysterious death," he told them.

"This is Bonnie!" Evelyn shouted. "Help her! She's always helping us!"

"Get them home. Now," Damon sternly spoke to Stefan.

"I can't leave her!" Evelyn sobbed as she held Bonnie's body close to her. "No."

"Come on, Eve," Stefan spoke softly.

Elena grabbed her sister's hand taking her out with Stefan behind them. "She didn't deserve this, Elena," Evelyn cried.

━━━━━━━━━━

Once they arrived at the boarding house, Evelyn sat in a corner with a blank expression while Elena cried leaning against Stefan. The door opened and Damon came in, the anger rising in Evelyn at the fact he knew and didn't bother to tell anyone.

"You knew!" Evelyn walked up to him with a hurt look. "If she harnessed all that power, that she would die. Didn't you?"

"Yes," Damon nodded. "Yes, I knew."

"You bitch." She slapped him across the face so hard with Elena gasping in shock from behind her.

"You need to listen to me. Both of you." He looked between the sisters. "And prepare for what i'm about to say."

"Bonnie had to die. Klaus using Alaric's body was a total surprise. She wasn't prepared for that and he wasn't going to stop, and we weren't going to be able to stop him until he knew she was dead. He had to believe it."

"So Bonnie's–" Elena began.

"She cast a spell. Bonnie's okay," he said and a look of relief swept across their faces, glad that their best friend was alive.

Damon walked away and guilt rush through Evelyn for hitting him so she ran after him.

"Damon!" He stopped, looking at her. "I'm so sorry!" She wrapped her arms around him. "I'm so so sorry, please forgive me."

He grabbed her face in his hands, wiping the tears away. "Don't apologise, you didn't know and we had to make it believable for Klaus to think she's dead."

"But I hurt you so bad," she whispered as she touched his cheek.

"I'm fine. I didn't feel anything," he reassured and she nodded.

"I heard you gave him a nose bleed," he proudly smiled.

"Yes. He was being weird and creepy," she mumbled.

"It's been a stressful day and I need ice cream." She tilted her chin up, batting her eyelashes and he rolled his eyes.

"Fine."

━━━━━━━━━━

Evelyn and Damon walked into the woods as he took her towards the witch house so she could meet Bonnie.

"Are you sure she's here? This looks a little scary," Evelyn murmured.

"Yeah."

They entered the room, her eyes warily glancing around her when she spotted Bonnie smiling at her. "Bonnie," she whispered as she ran towards her.

Bonnie wrapped her arms around her as Evelyn tightened her own. "Don't ever do that to me. You can't leave me," Evelyn sniffled.

"I'm so sorry, Eve," Bonnie softly spoke as they both pulled away from each other, holding her hands.

"I'm just going to be waiting outside. Keep it PG 13 too. Bonnie's ancestors lurk around here," Damon remarked sarcastically.

Evelyn and Bonnie laughed as they watched him leave. "I know what to do now. I'm going to kill him," Bonnie told her.

"I just don't want you to die trying though," Evelyn murmured. "You keep risking your life for us."

Bonnie deserved better. Evelyn thought. The way she was ready to do anything to keep her friends safe and although Evelyn admired that, she didn't want Bonnie's life and purpose to be focused on just that.

"Are you sure you'll be fine here? I can stay with you?" Evelyn offered.

"It's fine. Caroline will be here with me. Go home and get some rest. You look tired," Bonnie reassured her.

Evelyn sighed resting her forehead against Bonnie. "I love you," she whispered.

"I love you too," Bonnie smiled.

━━━━━━━━━━

It was the middle of the night and Evelyn quietly stepped out of the guest bedroom in the boarding house, searching to see if anyone was awake.

When she was sure no one was, she tip toed into the cellar where Elijah was.

She kneeled down, looking at the state he was in, with incinerated clothes lying daggered and grey, veins gracing his face.

Was she really about to do this? Damon would be so mad if she did but a part of her told her to do it.

She took a deep breath and gripped on to the dagger, pulling it out of Elijah.

She needed answers about Klaus and only Elijah was able to tell her.

━━━━━━━━━━

"Why are you whispering?" Jeremy asked his sister over the phone.

"I'll text you why but stay home with Aunt J. That creep is somewhere out there and I don't want her to get hurt."

The nightmare still startled her. She didn't want to lose anymore people she loved.

"Okay," Jeremy said.

"Bye."

"Bye." Jeremy sighed, sitting down on the couch as he switched on the TV.

He heard a knock on the front door and frowned, wondering who it may be. Walking over to it, he opened it up and the sight in front of him made his eyes widen, feeling shocked.

"Kenji?"

That was a long chapter but it was so fun to write. What did you think of this chapter?

Klaus being a creep made me laugh and cry. My mind is so fucked up, I write weird stuff don't come at me. This is just for humour by the way so Eve and his siblings can bully him about it in the future. Klaus is just in a silly goofball when it comes to her.

And Kenji is finally here!! His faceclaim is Ryan Potter so just go on my extended cast chapter to check who it is.

More exciting things to come and I love you!
