Leo POV:

I groaned as I was thrown against the wall, my brother's similar cries of pain came right after, I got up and stretched my back, my shell even felt sore.

"Mikey really!?"

I yelled at my younger brother, everyone else got up as Mikey rubbed his head.

"Oops"

He said with a nervous smile, I sighed and picked up his skateboard. Raph stood up and crossed his arms at Michelangelo.

"Michael..."

The youngest slightly winced at his stare as he got up.

"You know that you can't be skateboarding right now!"

"Well! I-, Ugh! Just give me my skateboard back!"

I held the skateboard away from Mikey as he tried to grab it from me, Donnie crossed his arms and raised a drawn eyebrow at him.

"Michaelangelo"

The Orange wearing turtle looked at his older brother at the sound of his name.

"You are NOT! Getting this back until you clean up your mess and think about what you did"

Mikey scoffed.

"What even the problem!? There's a skating ramp for a reason!"

I looked at Mikey and furrowed my brows.

"But we told you we were doing something in here so you couldn't come and skateboard here until we were done"

I rubbed my forehead with my fingers while my other hand held the skateboard.

"You know what, just-, go to your room"

"What!?"

Mikey exclaimed a little upset, I looked at him with an annoyed expression.

"Go to your room. I won't repeat myself again!"

I said pointing to his bedroom, Michaelangelo looked at me and then huffed angrily, storming off like a child.

"Screw this man!"

"Hey watch your mouth!"

Raph called after him, I sighed and gave Raph the skateboard.

"I just can't right now"

I said rubbing my forehead with my fingers again.

"Raph, Donnie, We will continue the thing later, I'm going out for some fresh air"

I said as I grabbed my sword from the weapons wall and sheathed it.

"Leo"

Raph grumbled, I looked at my older brother and Sighed.

"Raph, it's just a nice little stroll, I'll be back before you know it"

I said as I jumped up on his shell and looked down at him, he looked up at me as I smiled and the front flipped off of him, I landed next to Donatello and patted his battle shell.

"Bye twin, see you in a bit!"

I ran towards the entrance.

"We are not twins!"

Donnie yelled after me, I sighed and ran down through the sewers until I found the ladder leading up to the city. I stood there for a minute and then smirked.

"Maybe I'll take a little shortcut instead"

I said as I brought out my sword and took a step back, I started to make a circular motion, I smiled as I saw the blue light flicker but it immediately turned into a frown when it frizzled away.

I groaned and shook my sword side to side.

"Ugh! Come onnnnn!"

I whined as I tried again, my second attempt going exactly like the first one, I gripped the sword and furrowed my brows/mask.

"Third time the charm!"

I exclaimed as I made a circular motion very quickly, I saw the blue portal finally open up, and I smiled, feeling accomplished.

I jumped through the portal and ended up in the hidden city, I looked around and smiled even more.

"I was trying the pizza place but this is even better!"

I exclaimed as the portal closed and I sheathed my sword into its holder on my shell. I began to walk around looking at all the stores and attractions, I only had a little money in my holder but it was fine, I wasn't going to buy anything really, I was glad just to look.

I heard a static type noise, and I soon found out it was cheering, I looked up at the ticket booth and the stadium entrance, and I was quickly turning around and walking back the way I came.

I was definitely not going into Big Mama's establishment, I crossed my arms and both my hands gripped each one of my arms, I ended up going to Hueso's pizza place, I went in and greeted him.

"Hola Señor Hueso!"

I said Smiling and waving at him, the skeleton sighed and rolled his eyes.

"Hello Pepino"

He said groaning, I smiled even more but it was cockier.

"Aw come on, don't be that way"

I said while grabbing his shoulder, he sighed.

"Do you want your regular?"

He said looking down at me, I smiled.

"You know it!"

He nodded his head and wrote it down on a notepad as he walked to the back, I sat down at a table when I heard the door open and some people gasp.

I turned back to see-

a human girl!?

I shook my head and rubbed my eyes making sure I saw that right, I watched as some Yokai came up to her asking for autographs and pictures, She smiled and was happy to oblige.

She laughed sweetly at them, and even though she wore a black mask you can clearly see she was happy.

"Hold on a second guys, come on, one at a time, please? I know I can take several people at once but let me save that for the arena"

She stated as she took a notepad from one of the Yokai, she signed it. I turned back to look at Hueso that caught me staring.

"Ah, I didn't know that she would be here, this is good for business"

"Who is she, and what is she doing down here!?"

I asked him, He looked at me like I was crazy.

"You really don't know Muchacho?"

I shook my head no, Hueso just sighed.

"She's champion of the battle Nexus, Big Mama's star pupil, They call her Red Phantom"

I looked back at the girl, still, begin surrounded by Yokai. She looked so happy to be getting so much attention, she doesn't even look like someone that would work for Big Mama.

I caught my breath as her eyes traveled over to me, she blinked several times and then was pulled away by another Yokai asking for her presence. I immediately looked at the table.

What the hell was that!?

I screamed at myself in my head, I waited until Hueso came out, he apparently left after answering my question to tend to more customers.

"Hey Pepino, Since I have a lot more customers than you, your meal won't be ready until 20 minutes or so"

I sighed and got up, I stretched and looked at the Yokai.

"It's bueno señor! I'll just come back later"

"Thanks, Pepino"

He said with a relieved sigh, he walked to the back and I turned towards the entrance, The girl, or the "Red Phantom" was still begin questioned by people. They almost looked overwhelmed by the attention, I scoffed and rolled my eyes as I walked out of the pizzeria.

I walked out and into the stores, going deeper into the city. The buildings around me started to get unfamiliar, I continued to walk around until I realized that I was lost.

"Oh great!"

I grumble out angrily, I walk around more until I felt even more lost when I bumped into an alleyway. I sensed someone behind me, I reached for my sword gripping the handle just in case I need to use it, I turned around to see two large Yokai walking towards me.

"Hey kid, what are you doing down here?"

One of them asked in a raspy voice, I took a step back slowly.

"Wouldn't you like to know"

I retorted, The brown-haired Yokai, who seem to be a warthog laughed, snorted, and looked at the Yokai next to him.

"He's got some fire in him Rocks"

The rhino next to him laughed and agreed with him.

"Maybe we should teach him a lesson huh Beeps?"

The warthog looked at his companion.

"I think we should"

I felt my heart drop, I was about to run out of there when I was rammed into and thrown across the alleyway. I groaned in pain as my body tumbled on the pavement, I quickly scrambled to my feet ready to make a break for it when I was pulled back.

"You're not going anywhere, kid"

Second person POV:

You let out a puff of air after escaping from the mob of fans that you had, Sure you loved them but they were overwhelming. You walked down to the trouble area of the city, only an idiot would come down here, you're either here because you're homeless or a criminal.

And you have no money, even if you work for Big Mama, your payment is your freedom. Stealing is the only way you could get stuff, wants, and needs, but mostly needs.  You walked down the alleyways until you heard laughing and things being knocked over.
You took out your retractable bo staff from the strap around your leg.

It's a new item, that you may or may not have stolen. You walked through the alley and you started to run forward when you heard grunts of pain and the voices got clearer.

"Come on kid! I know you got something!"

You ran faster and then jumped in the air onto a trash can and landed in front of the victim, you snarled at the two figures in front of you, You already recognized the notorious Beep bop and Rocksteady.

"Don't even get close to the kid!"

You spat as you got into a fighting position.

"Oh lookie here"

The warthog snorted.

"Isn't the fearless Red phantom coming out to play"

You gripped your weapon tighter, getting in a defensive position, trying to cover the person behind you from the attackers.

"How about you two run along before you get hurt!"

You growled.

"We're not scared of you, you only human"

Your pupils went thin at this comment, you finally lost control of your emotions. You jumped in the air and swung your bo staff at the warthog's head. It slammed against his head, you rolled under his legs and stood up behind him as you grabbed your knife.

You let out a small gasp as Rocksteady pulled you back, you looked at him and then shifted your weight forward making you twist his hand as you sliced his arm with your knife. He yowled in pain and let go of you, you landed on your feet and then took out your bo staff again and hit Beepbop back on the head.

He turned towards you and punched you in the gut, sending you flying. You slammed against the wall, and your body ached but the feeling was natural to you. You got back up and blew a piece of your hair back.

"So"

You looked up at them with a sadistic glint in your eye.

"You really want to do this?"

You smiled under my mask as you grabbed the machete that was in your belt.

"I'll let you go first, come at me jackasses"

You said as you got into a fighting position, Rocksteady snorted and charged at you, horn first, you jumped into the air and landed on his head. You continued to run off of him because you lost your balance. You rolled onto the ground and then put your hand on the ground to stop yourself from moving while the other held your machete in front of you.

"Hey sorry for the head, but maybe you shouldn't be such a dick"

You heard a snicker from someone after you spoke, you rolled your eyes and focused back on the fight. You barely jumped out of the way as the pig was ramming into you.

You sliced his leg as he ran and heard him howl in pain, you started to run so you can get better ground. You dropped your weapon as you were yanked back and held up in the air. You struggled to get out of their hold.

"Let me go before I break your spine you overgrown piece of bacon!"

You snarled, but you had a hint of fear in your eyes.

"You're gonna pay for what you did-"

The pig was cut off by a flash of green kicked him in the face, making him let you go. You landed on your feet and then quickly grabbed your weapon and stabbed the warthog in the leg, pushing your blade deeper when you heard his cries of pain, you then took out your blade and then backed up.

"Get the hell out of here before I tell 'Big M' about this"

That seemed to get their attention.

"You just got out, I'm sure she'd be happy to know where you are since your escape"

You said in a bitter-sweet tone while starting to clean your blade that was covered in blood.

"And we wouldn't want that?"

You looked up at them with a sinister glint in your eye and a disgustingly sweet smile.

"C-Come on Beeps."

Rock steady said as he helped his companion up.

"Let's get out of here"

You watched with cold eyes as they left, after they were out of sight you huffed angrily.

"Tch. Jackasses, beating up a kid"

At those words, your eyes widened while you realized you forgot about the kid.

"Hey, kid!?"

You looked around for them.

"Kid!?"

You felt someone behind you, you whipped around and faced them in a fighting position. They shot their hands up in defense and took a step back.

"Hey hey hey hey, Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Easy! It's me!"

You slightly let your guard down and sighed. You blinked when you saw your weapons in hand as they handed them over to you.

"Um thanks"

You took your knife and shoved it in your holder, you took your bo staff and retracted it as you put it in its pocket.

"Also I'm not a kid. I'm fourteen."

You looked up at the kid, who appeared to be a light green turtle, with red slashes across both of their eyes.

"Whatever you say, come on kappa"

You say as you started to walk down the Alley.

"Um, where exactly are we going!?"

A male somewhat annoying voice rang through your ears, and you sighed.

"Kid I'm showing the way out and back to the main city"

"I'm not a kid..."

You heard him grumble again, you rolled your eyes and then sheathed your machete into its holder on your belt.

"So what's a kid like you over here in the Projects?"

"I could ask you the same thing"

"Touché"

You continue to walk with the turtle trailing behind you.

"Only morons come over here, Someone who is just plain stupid or wants to be killed "

"Wow geez thanks"

You heard them say in a sarcastic voice, and you sighed.

"Look kid, just stay away from these parts of the city, I don't want you to get hurt more than you already are"

"Psh. Why do you care?"

You stopped in your tracks causing the turtle behind you to stop too, startled by your sudden halt. You finally turned back to him and looked him in the eye.

"Because no one else will"

You turned back around and started walking again, leading the now silent mutant behind you, through the alleyways and streets. We finally made it to the edge of the lockdowns and into the regular city.

"Here you go kid, stay on road and you'll find the map next to the bus stop. You'll find your way back by that"

You started to walk back to the poor side of the city when you felt someone grab your wrist, you look back to the slightly taller turtle and blinked.

"Um yes?"

The turtle looked at you a little lost for words but they spoke.

"Thank you for helping me..."

You looked at him and then smiled, closing your eyes to indicate that you are smiling because of the mask.

"It was no problem really, I was just at the right place at the right time"

"L-Leo"

"Huh?"

You looked at the blue-wearing turtle.

"My name is Leonardo"

They looked away anxiously, and you sighed.

"Just call me Red"

He blinked a few times and then nodded, He then let go of your wrist, which he was still holding, and apologized.

"S-Sorry!"

You shook your wrist a little and then flashed a smile.

"It's fine"

You turned back around and waved.

"Bye, I'll see you around I guess?"

You continue to walk until you heard him speak again.

"Wait!, I uh-, you hungry? I got some pizzas that are waiting back at the shop."

You turned back around.

"You asking me out Kappa?"

You saw their face get red real quick.

"No no no! It's just an um! A thank you! A thank you for helping me!"

He waved his hands around, You laughed at his flustered nature. 

"Don't worry Kappa, I'm just messing with you"

You ran your fingers through your somewhat matted hair.

"Sure, I would love to eat"

You saw them smile, and you smiled back, closing your eyes again so he could know you were smiling under your mask.

"Ok if we're going then I'll show you the way to the pizza place myself"

You walked forward with the somewhat taller turtle trailing behind you. You continued to walk with him until you were deeper into the city.

"So uh... What does Kappa mean?"

You slowed your pace down so you could walk next to him.

"It's an old Japanese folklore for Turtle Yokai, I heard BM say it a few times"

"Bm?"

You looked at the confused turtle.

"It stands for Big Mama"

You saw him tense a little but then relax.

"Uh cool"

You heard the unease in his voice but decide to ignore it.

"So Kappa Kid, What brings you to the city?"

He put his hands behind his head and walked forward.

"Eh, I just need to get away from home"

"That's nice I guess, The city is a nice place to distract yourself from your problems..."

He looked at you questioningly when you trialed off, He fiddled with his gloves nervously.

"So, what do you do down here?"

You stiffened a little at his question but then shrug it off and continue to walk.

"I'm a battle nexus fighter that works for Big Mama"

You recited the words that Big Mama told you to say.

"Ah... I see..."

You scratched the bandages on your wrist nervously, feeling uneasy about the turtle's response.

"Well I did hear about you from a few people"

You laughed nervously and rubbed the back of your neck, which had some type of shock collar-looking thing on it.

"Yeah, I'm apparently a "Big thing" around here"

You grunt under your breath from the slight stinging that was coming from your neck, you ignore it and continue your conversation.

"I like the attention but sometimes it's a little overbearing"

You said with a small smile and a laugh. The Yokai just looked at you, with a curious and amused look in his eyes.

"Being a Battle Nexus fighter isn't the best thing in the world but it's what I'm good at"

You stretched your arms as you spoke, hearing a few pops come right after.

You and the turtle walked the rest of the way having occasional small talk when you finally made it to the pizza place where you escaped the mob from. You pushed the door in and let him walk in first. He looked at you and smiled slightly as he walked in, you closed the door after him and then walked inside yourself.

The smell of food breezed through your nose, you never smelled food so good, whenever you were around a food stand it never got old. You happily walked over to the Turtle Yokai, who was getting three boxes of pizza. He mentioned for you to follow him so you did, he sat down at the table and set the boxes down.

"Wow Kappa, that's a lot of boxes"

You stated as you sat down across from him, he looked at you and then laughed a little.

"Oh sorry, I just got some for my family, I can't eat all of it by myself"

You slightly smiled at his comment but there was a lingering sting in your chest.

The thought of having someone to go to at the end of the day must be nice.

"That's cool Kappa"

You watched as he opened the box, and you saw what Hueso told you was pizza, in the box. Your stomach turned in your body from hunger, they bearly feed you this week.

The turtle took a slice of pizza for himself and then took a bite, you sat there, sorta uncomfortable. He then looked at you and saw that you weren't eating.

"Hey it's alright, go on. Take a slice"

You looked up at him, he had reassuring eyes behind his blue mask, you glanced down at the pizza and then reached for it. You brought it to your face and used your other hand to take off your mask, but only halfway so people wouldn't see the scar on your right cheek.

You took a bite of the pizza, your eyes widen at the taste of the food. You took huge bites and devoured the crust, grateful that you finally had food in your stomach. You went to reach for another one but then retracted your hand and looked up at the Yokai across from you.

He looked up from some sort of device in his hand to your eyes, he glanced at you and then at the pizza. He let out a small huff with a slight smile on his face.

"Go ahead, help yourself, I have two more"

You looked up at him with grateful eyes.

"Thanks..."

You grabbed another slice and this time had more control and took smaller bites.

"This is the best thing I've ever tasted"

You stated while munching on some pepperoni.

"Wait Woah, Woah, Woah. You've never had Pizza before?"

You looked up at him.

"Nope"

You took another bite, he held his hand over his chest to where his heart should be.

"You pour soul"

You rolled your eyes and finished your second slice, you reached for another one and took a bite.

"Hey what's that in your hand?"

You set the pizza down and pointed at the small rectangle-shaped box in his hand.

"Um, it's a phone?"

You looked at him and then at the blue box.

"A phone...Sounds cool"

He looked at you with shock and then looks away from you in a dramatic voice.

"You poor thing, How do you not know what a phone is!?"

He turned to you and grabbed your shoulders, you blinked at him and then responded while taking his hands off you gently.

"Um, I-"

You felt the neckband around your throat heat up, you bit your lip in pain and muffled out a whimper. The burning started to go away, you recomposed yourself and thought about your next words.

"I-I work so much I don't really have time for this type of stuff"

You laughed off the tension, but you couldn't stop your heart from beating so fast from the pain, you rubbed your neck, trying to move the collar but that made it sting even more. You tightened your fist and powered through the pain.

"Anyways, do you have a job...."

You stopped for a second and then slightly smiled and laughed.

"What Am I saying!? You're Thirteen right? You can't even get a job"

The Yokai looked at you and then felt his face heat up from embarrassment.

"I'm not thirteen! I'm fourteen! A-And I have a job!"

They stated firmly, they had sweat beaming from their palms and forehead, you smirked under your masked and folded your arms while you leaned back in your chair.

"Oh really?"

You raised an eyebrow.

"Ok Mister 'I'm not a kid', what is your job, I'm absolutely dying to know~"

You acted super dramatic, which didn't seem to bring humor to the person in front of you. They popped their lips together a few times having an unamused expression.

"Are you done yet?"

You blinked a few times and then put your arm on the table and rested your cheek on your hand.

"Oh sweetheart, I'm just getting started"

You saw the turtle stiffen a little, having a nervous expression on their face as a soft tint of red came across it.

"Pfft whatever"

They slouched back in their chair, crossing their arms and looking away from me. You could tell you made them a little embarrassed so you sighed and then thought of an idea.

"Hey kid, why so blue?"

You snorted at your own pun and laughed, you saw a smile form on the turtle's face, they chuckled slightly and looked back towards you.

"Maybe because you're so red in the face"

You stopped and looked at him for a second and then burst out laughing at your guys' stupidity.

"Oh my goodness, those puns were so bad they're funny!"

He started to laugh with you, and you looked up and smiled, you've never felt like this before, so relaxed, it was a nice feeling.

"So Kid, what do you like to do for fun?"

They looked at you with bright eyes, grin plastered on their face as they started to talk about all their interests, It was very amusing to watch him brag about all the fun he's had. You sat there, with your chin in your hand, a small smile on your face.

"Well that's nice I guess"

You sat a little more up, and looked at him, he blinked a few times and then smiled.

"So what do you do for fun~?"

They asked with a goofy smirk and a raised eyebrow,  you laughed and pushed his face away from you and shoved him down on his chair as you sat back down in yours.

"Fun!?"

You laughed.

"I work too much, I don't have any time for... Fun..."

You glanced away with a small amount of sadness and jealousy, knowing that you could never really have fun, not when you know that you had to go back to 'work' every day.

The turtle looked at you with a concerned face.

"It's... Um not an Easy life down here kid, I'll tell you that, we all do what we can to get by..."

You didn't really want to meet his gaze as you said that, which made him more worried but he tried to shake off the feeling.

"Well, I guess it just proves how strong you are then!"

You looked up at him and he put an arm up in flex and smiled at you. You slowly felt a grin spread across your face as you chuckled slightly.

"Haha, yeah...I guess it does, doesn't it?"

You guys looked at each other for a second until you cleared your throat and shook your head. You started to clean up the table and stack up the boxes of pizza for the turtle in front of you.

"Anyways Kappa, It's about time for me to leave"

You finished arranging the boxes of food and gave them to him, you readjusted your mask and look at him.

"Bye Kappa, It was nice meeting you, Thanks for the meal"

You got up from your seat and turned around to leave, The turtle immediately got up and held out his hand after you

"W-Wait!"

You turned back to him with a small hint of confusion on your face.

"What? You repaid your debt to me, we're even now right?"

You didn't really know why this boy was stopping you from leaving.

"I um... Will I ever see you again?"

You looked at him in shock, his eyes looked so sincere, you never thought someone would want to see you again.

"W-Well um-"

You scratch at the collar on your neck nervously, slightly hissing at the raw skin under it.

"No one actually ever asked me that"

You laughed sadly at the comment.

"Well if you ever want to see me again"

You trailed off as you walked to the entrance of the restaurant.

"I'm off Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday, I'm always going to be at the bar until at least eight, I guess I may see you then"

You said with a smirk as you opened the door and walked out, leaving the pizza place. You smiled to yourself all the way back to the battle nexus. Even the notion of Big Mama wouldn't bring you down today, because you finally had someone to hang out with.

Leo POV:

I stared after the girl as she left, I had the biggest grin on my face as I walked home, I tried to use a portal but the stupid sword was being difficult. I walked inside without realizing that I had buries all over me, 3 pizza boxes, and a huge grin on my face, I totally didn't look suspicious at ALL.

I walked in and put the pizzas on the table, Mikey was already in the kitchen and he happily took a slice.

"Hey, guys! I brought pizza!"

I soon saw a purple bandana turtle come in, his eyes glanced at my body which was covered in scratches and bruises.

"Oh Raphala, Leon has had quite the adventure, well according to all of his injuries"

He called out to our older brother in a monotonous tone as he walked past me and towards the box of food. At the word 'injuries', Raph had already sped into the room to check if I was ok.

"Injuries!? What!? Where!? Are you ok!?"

He grabbed me and started to examine my body for injuries, I huffed in annoyance and jumped away from him.

"Raph I'm fine! just ran into a bump in the road"

I said with an annoyed yet cheery tone since nothing was really going to make me upset after I hang out with 'Red'.

"Well, what got you all bruised up!?"

Raph said, still concerned.

"Raph, chill out for a second big brother, It was just a minor setback, I brought pizza anyways, and are still in one piece!"

I said confidently like I was proud that I delivered the pizza and made it back without dying.

"Yeah ok. But you said that you were going out for a stroll and would be back before we knew it, and yet you were gone for an hour and a half"

He said in a serious disapproving tone as he crossed his arms at me.

"I just um, the pizza was just taking longer than expected, it was a full house"

I clapped my hands and started to walk away.

"Anyways I'm going to my room now good night!"

I was almost out of the kitchen when I heard Raphs voice ring through my cutaneous plate.

"Aren't you gonna eat?"

It sounded like an innocent question but the way he said it made me shutter because of how serious he sounded.

"Nah thanks! I already ate! Anyways gotta go bye!"

I waved goodbye as I sprinted to my room and landed on my bed, I lay there for a moment before getting up to find paper and something to write with.

"Pen. Pen. Pen. Gotta find a pen- AHA! Found it!"

I grabbed the pen and went to my notebook and wrote down what I remembered.

"Meet Red Phantom at the bar, until- uh was it eight or nine? I'll just put seven-fifty just to play it safe, on um I think it was Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Yeah! Definitely!"

I stuck my tongue out slightly as I wrote it down in my notebook. I set it aside and then changed out of my gear, I slipped on my PJs and took off my mask, and replaced it with my sleep mask, I got into the covers and got comfortable.

I couldn't stop thinking about the girl

Who was she?

Why is she working for Big Mama?

What's with the mask!?

And more importantly

What was she doing down here and why did she look so scared and anxious while talking to me!?

I sighed as I put the sleeping mask over my eyes and closed them.

"I'll guess I'll try and figure it out in the morning"

I yawned as I slowly drift off into sleep.
