Chapter 6

A/N: You wouldn't believe the amount of research I had to do for this fucking chapter. It was like a solid two hours. Fun fact, anesthesia is measured in time, not amount. You better enjoy this chapter because every sentence made me lose a brain cell.

At first, everything seemed black.. A sharp ringing filled my ears, that then quickly changed itself to a static noise. My eyes were heavy, and it was hard to keep my own eyes open. I gave in, and allowed my eyes to close. I then heard something new, it sounded like a person- but they sounded to far away.. As if they were yelling to me from across a football field, and this was the only reminder of the sound I could hear. I opened my eyes slightly to see if things were normal yet, and they seemed to be. I was laying on some sort of concrete road, it was hot- but it felt nice. The ringing and static then slowly disappeared and everything seemed quiet for the most part. I tried to move, but I wasn't able to. All I could move was my eyes. I looked around to see where I was. It looked to be the middle of the day. I was in some sort of community. I then heard a loud noise riding on the pavement, I turned my eyes to the direction of the noise, it was a truck. I tried to move out of the way, but my body wouldn't let me.

"àŒ¡çâ ×çââ," Someone yelled. Suddenly, metal began to build up into a wall like shape in between me and the truck. The truck quickly slammed on its breaks to try and not hit the wall. Yet, they were unsuccessful and crashed into the metal wall. A large intent appeared on the metal in the shape of the truck's front, which managed to stop the truck.

'They just used- magic?' I thought to myself confused.

Someone then ran towards me, "Are you okay?!" A woman asked me. She was a younger woman, maybe thirty at most. She had black hair, and many braids within it. She wore a black polo, and had black jeans. Around her neck was a necklace that seemed to be made out of gold. In the middle of the necklace was a dark green emerald.

I tried to respond, but no words came out. My throat was dry, and it ached.

"What the hell was that for?!" A man asked, sounding angry, walking over to where we were. The man looked older, maybe 60. He wore a large grey shirt that was two sizes too large. He had black pants that were stained with dirt. He had a large red mustache that covered his face. With a baseball cap on his balding head.

"Ya nearly ran over this kid ya dumb ass!" The woman yelled annoyed.

"A kid?" He asked confused, then looked over at me. "How the Hell did I not see him-" He said in disbelief. "Is he alright?"

"Not sure, he's not talking," The woman said.

"Maybe he's a mute?" The man speculated, shrugging slightly.

"I'll take him to the medic, but first, let me fix your truck for ya," The woman said.

"Na it's perfectly fine, I can do it myself. Just make sure ya get the kid there safely," The man said.

"Of course," She said nodding. "See you soon," She said waving.

She then put her arms around me and picked me up as if I was a baby. I couldn't stop her, so I just went with it. "¡ř ti×Jeřck¡çâ," She said. Everything went black for a few seconds, then we appeared at a hospital. The hospital was large, and was made of some sort of white concrete. We seemed to be in the middle of a large city because the streets were paved and skyscrapers were visible in all directions. She quickly walked in. Inside were two hallways. The left had a sign that read, "hospital." The right has a sign that reads, "Waiting Area." The woman walked down the hallway that read, "Hospital." Down this hallway led to a counter where two receptionists stood. To the right of them was an elevator.

"What happened to him?" The woman on the left asked, sounding worried. She had straight black hair, and wore a woman's tuxedo. She had blue eyes that were abnormally bright blue. She had a small tag that read "Sarah" which I guessed was her name. The man on the right had red hair that's curly, and also had aggressive blue eyes like Sarah. He wore a men's tuxedo and a tag that read, "James."

"I'm not sure, he was on the road unconscious," The woman said.

"¡ř Liř ×ãŒ," James said. He disappeared, then reappeared a few seconds later. "Go to floor eight," He said.

'What the Hell is going on here- why can they all use magic so well?' I thought to myself confused.

"Thank you," The woman said walking to the elevator. She clicked eight on a keypad. The doors opened and the woman walked into the elevator. The elevator's doors closed instantly and we started to go up. The woman went quiet as we went up. She seemed awkward, so she said, "Look- I know you're not from around here, and the people here don't like newcomers. Be careful what ya say." The elevators then opened, a doctor and three nurses stood at the doors with a stretcher. The woman walked out of the elevator and put me on the stretcher.

"Please head to the waiting area," The doctor said, pushing the stretcher down a hallway. The nurses followed. They kept pushing the stretcher until they arrived at a room. They pushed the stretcher inside, then crammed into the room. "Hit him up with anesthesia," The doctor said.

"How much?" A nurse asked me to place a gas mask on my face. The mask was made of plastic, and was an oval shape. Where the mask was on my face, it gave a weird pressing down feeling. A second nurse grabbed a tube and connected it to the mask.

"Let's start with three units and see how we feel," The doctor said.

"K," The third nurse said putting their hand on the dial and turning it to three units.

Once the nurse turned the dial, I instantly felt it kick in. Everything became blurry and foggy, and instantly- everything was black...
