Her Friend
┏━•❃°•°❀°•°❃•━┓
Indu stood in awe as she gazed at the grand palace before her, feeling as if she had stepped into a heavenly place. The pillars were adorned with jewels, the floor gleamed like gold, and a deep sense of peace filled her as she stepped down from her palanquin. It was a moment of pure happiness.
Suddenly, she heard a gentle voice call her name. She turned to see her dear friend, Gopala, looking at her with a playful smile. "Gopala," she said with a small smile.
"Sakhi, are you planning to break my heart and stay here forever?" Krishna asked dramatically.
Indu chuckled softly as she and Kanha entered Dwarka, its beauty leaving her captivated. Harsh followed quietly behind her.
"Gopala, I think it's time we discuss the reason for my visit," Akarshika said, her tone serious.
"As you wish, Sakhi," Krishna replied cheerfully. And so, amid the splendor of Dwarka, they discussed the matter at hand, resulting in Dwarka and Gandhar becoming trade partners.
"Gopala," Akarshika said, catching Krishna's attention. Kanha looked at her expectantly.
"So, are the Pandavas really gone?" Indu asked suddenly. Krishna smiled at her.
"What do you think?" he asked.
"I don't believe they are," she replied, looking at him, hoping for an answer. But all she received was another smile.
"Gopala, why do you always leave me with more questions?" she asked, folding her hands.
"Because you must find the answers within yourself," he said, leaving her even more puzzled.
"Where is Subu?" Akarshika asked, changing the subject, perhaps to distract herself or because she genuinely wanted to see her friend.
"In her room," Krishna replied. Indu looked around, trying to spot her.
"Where's her room?" she asked.
"In the palace," Krishna teased, earning a sharp look from Akarshika.
"Gopala," she muttered.
"Yes, Sakhi?" he replied.
"Could you please guide me to Subhadra's room?" she asked with a sarcastic smile.
"Of course, why not? The princess of Gandhar herself is asking for my guidance," Kanha replied with a broad smile. Annoyed, Indu rolled her eyes as Krishna chuckled.
Soon, Indu found herself standing before Subhadra's locked room, with Krishna by her side and Harsh behind her.
Akarshika pointed at the door and raised an eyebrow, but Krishna only shrugged, indicating he had no idea.
Indu knocked on the door, but there was no answer. Frustrated, she was about to knock again when the door finally opened.
Subhadra stood before her, dressed in a beautiful pink gown, as lovely as ever. A smile spread across her face when she saw Akarshika.
Noticing the unease in Subhadra's eyes, Akarshika realized something was wrong. Without warning, Subhadra hugged her tightly, whispering, "I missed you." Indu was surprised by the sudden show of affection.
Meanwhile, Krishna, ever the playful one, remarked, "Just my sister forgetting her brother," making Subhadra laugh.
After they parted, Subhadra asked, "How are you, Sakhi?" Indu smiled slightly and replied, "I'm fine."
At that moment, a soldier arrived to inform Krishna that the court needed him. He nodded at Akarshika and Subhadra, smiled, and left.
"Come, I want to show you something," Subhadra said, pulling Indu into her room. Harsh stayed outside.
Indu tried to pull her hand away, but Subhadra wouldn't let go.
Inside, Subhadra showed her a beautiful rose that had just bloomed. "Isn't it beautiful?" she asked, and Akarshika nodded in agreement.
"It bloomed today while I was thinking about..." Subhadra's voice trailed off. Indu looked at her curiously and asked, "About what?"
Subhadra blushed and shyly replied, "About Arjun." Akarshika couldn't help but smirk, knowing that everyone except Arjun was aware of Subhadra's feelings.
But then, Subhadra's smile faded, her eyes grew sad, and her face became blank. Indu remembered the news of the Pandavas' death and understood that Subhadra was grieving.
Not knowing how to comfort her friend, Akarshika gave her a warm hug. This simple act brought comfort to Subhadra and showed the caring side of Akarshika's nature.
Though she was far from her mother in Kanyakul, Akarshika often longed for a comforting hug. Subhadra's embrace reminded her of the importance of true human connection. , Akarshika had a tender heart that not everyone saw.
While some might call her the "Arrogant Princess," her actions revealed a softer, more compassionate side that touched those who got to see it.
