Her fair skin suddenly turned into a crimson red shade, her eyes shone brightly upon seeing him. Her lips formed a smile, to which he kindly replied. Her puffy cheeks now resembled a tomato.
She had become accustomed to this feeling, a sudden butterfly sanctuary in her stomach, feeling strange but loving everything that was happening.
Indu warned her heart not to be drawn to him, but does the heart listen?
She was transformed in front of him, when suddenly a thought struck her.
Maybe because he won't love her for who she is-
Also, he's married to the sweetest, kindest person she has ever heard of and witnessed. It's best to set aside this feeling.
She took a step back, her heart finding it difficult. She turned around as her hair swayed in the cool breeze of the night, her jewelry shining brightly.
Her smile disappeared, her light blue saree looking dull like her. Her eyes seemed hopeless, her expressionless face and aimless walk broke Arshi's heart.
Arshi, who was observing the scene from afar. She witnessed how her daughter smiled brightly at him, but what happened all of a sudden?
Was she overthinking and being overprotective?
Indu walked towards her room and fell to the ground. She glanced at the moon, her face showing a frown.
"I warned you, dear heart, not to fall. I called and called and screamed, but you walked towards him. What's so good about him anyway?" she questioned as tears formed in her eyes.
She remembered how everyone talked behind her back. Do the people she loves, Arshi, Gandhari,Uluka, Harsh, Subhadra, and Dushala, also hate her but act nice in front of her?
She didn't believe she was someone to be loved. In her opinion, she wasn't. She couldn't be like that. She had felt this way not just now, but since childhood.
She preferred to be alone, without anyone. She preferred her own company, just staying with herself.
Maybe because she never really loved many people?
Her onyx eyes fell upon her anklet on the desk. She stood up, took it, and wondered, "What's so special about him anyway?"
"His kind smile whenever he looks at me."
"His generosity, even though I am not a very good person's very good daughter."
"His calm behavior, even around her wicked father and his nephews."
"His determination to follow Dharma."
All these questions made her realize that she doesn't love him for any of these qualities-
She just loves him.
She just loves him for him, just like that.
Isn't he too good for her? She thought so, tears escaping her eyes as she looked at the moon.
"If you don't listen to me, who will?" she questioned her heart.
"Do you know me? Do you know who I am? You stay with me, you know me, you make me laugh, and in the end, you make me cry, shatter me, and you cry with me, dear heart," she thought, lying on the ground and looking at the moonlight.
"I told you," she reminded her hopeless heart and sobbed.
In just a blink, a thought was planted in her heart. In just days, everything turned scary.
Before coming to Hastinapur, she felt close to him, even though she was miles apart from him. Now she felt away from him, away from everyone, away from everything.
She felt a raindrop on her, it was raining, she realized. She looked at the rain, which once brought her peace, but now everything was chaos.
She took a deep breath, her eyes feeling tired. She sat up and looked at the rain, tiny drops falling on her. Maybe nature was trying to calm her thoughts down.
Soon, she fell asleep because of the rain's comforting lullaby.
She opened her eyes to greet the beautiful sunlight, a smile forming on her lips and quickly disappearing.
Suddenly, she heard someone knocking on the door. "Oh, the maids," she thought as she opened the door.
She freshened up and now the maids combed her long hair. She looked at herself in the mirror, zoning out.
Suddenly, she heard a maid ask, "Princess, you look beautiful. What made you so beautiful today?"
"Does she need a raise?" was the first thought that came to her mind. She glanced at herself, feeling not so good, not looking that beautiful like she used to, to herself.
"Shut up!" she exclaimed to her unbelievable lie. She looked at herself,
she didn't look like Jagat sundari to herself.
She frowned as she stood up, her yellow royal cotton garment appearing simple. She walked towards her mother's room as her long braided hair swayed in the cool winter breeze, along with her baby hair. Her proud smile disappeared.
She just walked in without knocking. "Ma," she called. Her mother looked at her with a bright warm smile.
"I want to go back to Gandhar," she stated. "Why so soon, dear? Why don't we stay for some time?" Arshi asked.
"No, I want to go back," she said, her tone feeling lifeless. Her proud tone vanished.
Arshi nodded. Maybe she's missing Dushala. Arshia thought.
