Rules are Meant to be Broken
Why do we have rules?
As an act of suppression? Protection? Efficiency?
If a rule does not have a humane purpose then it is redundant because it serves no positive purpose. E.g. university admissions are based on academic grades alone.
If a rule does have a humane purpose then it is redundant because people will intrinsically follow it. E.g. don't feed the lions (or you might end up as its food).
It is only through the breaking of rules such as a thief stealing food that highlights the problems of our society such as extreme poverty that enables theft.
