The next day, you raced all the way to Speedy's to see if he was ready to go on holiday yet. You knocked hard on the door and Daffy answered. "Oh, (y/n)" he said with an unenthusiastic expression.

"Hey Daffy, where's Speedy? " you asked, searching frantically for him, making no time for small talk.

"Who?"

You frowned. "You know who I'm talking about. The little Mexican mouse who lives in the same house as you"

"What's all those bags for? Oh no! I knew it! Doom is upon us!" He panicked and started running about, shrieking and throwing cushions everywhere.

You lost your cool and grabbed him by the neck. "Daffy! Stop it! Doom isn't upon anyone, I'm going on holiday and I want to know where Speedy is!" You had a dangerous glint in your eyes that even he didn't dare mess with. He just stood there, stammering, for once, he was at a loss for words and you were growing more and more impatient, when you received a phone call. It was Speedy.

"Hey Speedy! Where are you?" You answered. Your voice sounded softer and friendlier.

"I could say the same for you! I've been standing at the airport for an hour now!"

Your eyes widened in horror at the thought. "oh, I'm sorry!" I'll be right over!" you quickly switched off your phone and rushed over to the airport. You arrived there at long last and Speedy looked at you in confusion.

"What took you so long?" He asked in that adorable accent.

"I thought you were still at home! I didn't realise you were already here waiting for me! "

"How many times must I say eet? Fastest mouse in Mexico?" he crossed his arms.

" yes, I know" you rolled your eyes.

"Come on! Flights are boarding now! " He cried as he grabbed your hand and dragged you through the place. You soon managed to get on the plane and find your seats.

"Ooh, nice! I get a window view!" You smiled as you squashed your face up against the window, trying to see outside.

He chuckled. "Well you won't be seeing anything but clouds out of eet for a while until we get there "

"I know" you sighed. It wasn't a long flight, thank goodness, so just read your book until you got there.

You had fallen asleep after a while, but soon woke up when you you heard the plane stopping. You looked outside in awe and wonder at your new surroundings.

"Here we are!" He smiled widely and jumped about.

The plane landed and you both collected your bags and sped out of the plane to greet the place.

"Wow, this is great!" You laughed as soon as you were out.

"We only just got here!" He replied.

"I know. Hold on, let me call a taxi"

"We don't need a taxi! Come on, I'll show you where my parents live"

"Alright then" seems you had no choice but to follow him.

"Wow, I'm starving and my dinner time is approaching. Know any good places to eat around here?" You asked. He lived here all his life so you assumed he would know all the good restaurants and places to eat.

"Eef you wait then my mama will make you something. She's an amazing cook, just wait"

"I don't know if I can" you groaned.

"Trust me, it will be worth it"

"I should hope so" you rolled your eyes.

You walked just a few miles away from the airport to a small town of mice. you were impressed by your surroundings. there was cacti growing and some small and beautifully painted houses or casas as they called them over here. You could see some small children out playing and laughing and some other mice just lazing about under the sun, which was understandable considering the weather was scorching hot.

"woah, this is really nice, Speedy, but where are your parents? " You asked as you looked around as if expecting them to just show up.

"Right here" he smiled as he knocked on the door of one of the houses. You both stood there for a moment before the door opened and an old female mouse stepped out. A huge smile crept on her face as she laid eyes on her son.

"Hola, mama" Speedy grinned widely.

"Speedy! What are you doing here?" She cried in delight as she reached out and hugged him tightly.

"I just came to see you"

"Ah, well l I hope you have a good day here!"

" Well, actually, I will be staying the week"

"The week?" She said in astonishment as she placed her hand on her chest. "Ay ay ay, the day just keeps getting better!" She laughed as she pulled him in and started kissing his cheeks.

"Mama! Stop eet!" He said, embarrassed at her behaviour. She opened her and looked over her shoulders to see you standing there. She stared for a moment so you smiled and waved awkwardly at her.

"Who ees thees?" She asked.

"Mama. I want to introduce you to (y/n). She's my girlfriend" he said proudly.

She approached you slowly and had a dangerous look in her eye. "So, you are the one who Speedy had been telling me so much about?"

"I think"

"hmm. well I'm telling you, you better take good care of my boy, and that's warning!" She was standing only inches from you now, pointing her finger at you and had an air of danger about her that you didn't dare to mess with.

"Y-yes ma'am" you looked away as you stammered this.

she stared for a second more before suddenly laughing out loud. "I am just keeding!"

You loosened up your once stiff shoulders and heaved a sigh of relief.

"Mama!" Said Speedy.

" What? It was just a joke! Come on een, (y/n) " she smiled warmly and you wiped the sweat from your brow in relief.

"So, weell i be getting any grandkids anytime soon?" She asked. You both looked at each other awkwardly when she said this.

"Rosalita! Don't embarrass the boy like thees!" You heard a chuckle and you looked to see a older male mouse.

" Papa! " cried your boyfriend as he hugged him. He beckoned you to come close and have you a hug as well.

"You must come een, eet ees dinner time!"

Your eyes lit up as you heard this as you hadn't eaten all day and you were grinning ear to ear and giggling like a psycho but stopped when you realised everyone was looking at you.

"So, (y/n), how are you liking mi familia so far?" Speedy asked you.

"Great! I can't wait for dinner though" you laughed awkwardly. "Speedy?" But you realised he wasn't listening and his attention was in something else.

"Speedy?"

"Huh? Sorry, it's just i saw someone"

"Who?" You asked but before you got a reply you were approached by another mouse. A taller mouse and very slow.

"Slowpoke Rodriguez!" You heard your boyfriend exclaimed as he threw his arms in the air as he saw the other mouse.

"Speedy Gonzales!" he cried.

Speedy then realised and put his arm around you and gave an introduction.

"Oh, (y/n), thees ees my cousin, Slowpoke Rodriguez" you shook hands with his cousin who gave you a lazy smile. You could see that his speed clearly didn't run in the family.

"And Slowpoke, thees ees (y/n), my girlfriend" he introduced you proudly.

"Ah, so thees ees her? She's even prettier than you described"

You blushed at this flattery and you then took a seat and gathered round for dinner. You were starving at this point and you were to hungry to worry about embarrassing yourself. Speedy was right and the food was really good. There was plenty of cheese of course and you pretty much stuffed your face with it all.

You really enjoyed yourself sitting around, laughing, talking, joking and recalling tales to each other and you were really glad you made this trip. After dinner finished, everyone started doing their own thing, talking to each other and doing other stuff. You had talked to a few of the mice, and laughed with them, before Speedy wanted to take you aside.

"Hey, (y/n)" he said as he tapped you from behind on the shoulder.

You immediately turned around. "Oh. What is it, Speedy?" you smiled at him.

"Come outside, i want to show you something"

"Alright" you agreed without taking a moment to think and you followed him as you both slipped outside. It was late in the evening and there was no street lights so everything was pretty dark.

"What is it you want to show m..."

"Look!" he said in a cheerful voice as he pointed to the beautiful, starlit sky. You gasped as you saw that it looked just like a dark blue sheet, painted in sparkling stars and you thought you'd never seen anything more lovely. "It's beautiful" you whispered.

"Isn't eet?" he answered quietly. "Seet down" he said. You both lay down and watched the sky and you honestly hoped this magical moment would never end.

"(y/n)? Thank you" Speedy said, breaking the silence.

"for what?" you said as you turned around to face him.

"For coming with me"

You said nothing, only smiling at him before returning to your attention to the sky.

"Hey, what are you two doing out here?" You heard a voice say. You both looked round to see his cousin standing there.

"Oh, sorry" Speedy apologised and blushed madly.

"Well you better get back quickly, it's getting late, that's why I'm leaving"

"Weell do" Speedy smiled as you both went back to the house. It was way past your bedtime and you both went to bed. Speedy went to his old bedroom and guess where you slept? That's right. The couch. You didn't complain though as you were looking forward to the rest of this week.
