FIRE BREATHER.
008. | ❛ this is my home? ❜
Ever since Seraphina's outburst, the only thing she did was ask for her family. She knew that the damage has already been done but at least she could try to heal the wounds that was inflicted upon her. Being stuck in her hospital bed for almost a week, Isa would tell her stories about her own experience as a ice breather. Yet with every weakness that Isa had there was a strength. Isa told on how she could manipulate her powers to create something more.
Isa had similar problems to Seraphina, consisting of the hair color change. Controlling it took time for her, requiring years of practice to keep her natural icy color from the light.
"Do you think that I'll be ever to control it?" Sera asked while eating with Isa in her hospital bed. Stuffing her mouth, and Isa responding with a mouthful yes.
"It takes longer for certain people, especially one of your kind. Fire is an element very hard to control. Why are you asking? If anything a crimson hair color is adored in Asgard."
"What's Asgard like? I've heard stories from you, Emi, and Thor but it seems so foreign."
"If you want, you could come with us." Isa grabbed a hold of Sera's hand giving her a gentle nudge.
Seraphina wasn't sure of what she could expect. She guessed like most humans, she was afraid of the unknown. What would happen if she went and loved Asgard? Would she stay or come down to Earth, her home where everyone she knew was. And could she leave Steve? After all he helped her feel affection towards a human being, a loving relationship which she could see going somewhere.
"Do I have to stay in Asgard?" Seraphina asked
"Not if you don't want to."
_______
Isa, Emilia, and Thor arranged everything for Seraphina's safe passage to Asgard. Alerting the Avengers that Sera would be making a voyage to her homeland bummed them out as much as it did Sera. They, themselves had doubts of if Seraphina wouldn't come back and what it meant for her relationship with the Star Spangled Man with A Plan.
Packing the clothes was heartbreaking for Sera because everything she packed, Tony either bought or she was gifted with by the other Avengers. Packing was always sad because she didn't know if she was going was better then where she's been. This was the first place where Seraphina didn't want leave, she wanted to stay in the certainty of acceptance.
Seraphina held a dress at the edge of her long full mirror, it was a dress that Isa brought for her. It was a icy blue dress meant to contrast her hair. It reached all the way down to her ankles to the pot where she would have to wear heels, something she has never worn before.
"They're going to love you," Steve's voice broke Seraphina's thought holding a box in his hand. Seraphina lowered the dress and hid it behind her placing it in her suitcase.
"The dress compliments your hair."
"Thanks, it's a gift." Seraphina smiled before proceeding to avoid a weird situation, "Are you going to show me what's in the box?"
"Yeah, it's just a care package that we all made for your trip. Something to remember us bye." Steve placed the box in Sera's arms gently as she looked down at the amount of stuff that people put in. Immediately, Sera placed the box back in Steve's arm, leaving him confused, "I won't need to remember you bye because, I'm coming back."
"Do you mean it?"
"More than anything, or else I wouldn't do this." Seraphina leaned in leaving a small docile kiss on his lips. "When I come back, I want to continue this. Because I certainly don't want to let it go."
_________
ASGARD
If Seraphina was dreaming then she didn't want to wake up. From all the portrayals that her siblings have told her, Asgard was a mix of everything. Filled with beautiful scenery that could make any person faint at the sight of it. The smell of it made it feel just like home for her, the crisp air and the smell of the candle light smoke.
"Is this all my home? I'm queen to this?"
"Anything the light touches." Isa proclaimed before detouring into both her and Emilia's surprise for their sister.
The vast field of where they were contained greenery that was so peaceful and relaxing. The grass was greener than the erasers that humans put on pencils. One could sit down and have a picnic, have a hell out of the day. What Seraphina didn't expected what was going to happen next.
An immense dragon to come in a swipe down into the ground showing off its flying skills to the goddesses. It soared and flew high and fumbled around in the sky before finding its place back on the ground in front of the three. Seraphina went to touch the reptilian who eased at the sight of her touch. All she could do was remember how Steve would do the same whenever they were in each other's presence. Seraphina placed her hands on the side of its face, rubbing its chin.
"Is this a person or just a dragon?"
"Unfortunately, he's only a dragon. His name is Maximilian." Emilia answered for her, going over to touch his wings, "He's doing a lot better at flying, considering that he was injured a few weeks ago."
She frowned at his injury and looking more closely into the dragons eyes. Almost if the two made an instant connection just by a look. It was a weird and unknown feeling like their souls were connected in a strange way. Max started purring at the affection that Sera was showing him, closing his eyes in satisfaction.
"Are there anymore like him?"
"Very few, still searching for them before they fall into the wrong hands."
"Is there anything else you'd like to show me?" Sera asked, pushing the day along with a happy smile but a sadness of leaving her new friend.
_______
The whole day circulated around showing Seraphina her home, and it seemed like the whole day was a whole lot longer than one on earth. Seraphina's favorite part of the day will always be the beginning, Shen she saw Asgard and met her scaly friend. Everything bundled up perfectly and the residents were welcoming to their lost princess.
Isa and Emilia could see that something was bugging Sera. Whether it was that she dozed off every minute or started to daydream about another thing. Sera was thinking of something or someone and it was obvious.
"Have you enjoyed your time on Asgard?" Emilia asked
"Very much, it's very heartwarming that this is where I grew up. Sucks that I can't remember most of those memories."
"That is one thing that I'm not sure if I can undo. Loki was very powerful to have created a spell like that. But I promise that I'll try everything to try and figure it out."
"I'd be nice to have those memories, after everything I want to know what my past life consisted of."
"But you'd prefer the life you have now right?" Emilia smiled knowing that Seraphina would deny it. "Don't worry Sera, I know you've been thinking of them. And if you would like, I can arrange for you to go back home."
Seraphina smiled at her sister's action to her new life. Emilia accepted that Seraphina had a new life, a new family, a new home. After all this time it was a given that Sera had accustomed to Midgard's way of life.
Seraphina went to hug her sister feeling that it was a awkward action, holding her hands around Emilia's back but not touching her. Sera let a minute pass and comfortably wrapped her arms around Emilia in a heartwarming way. This was her family and the one on Earth was as much as her family as this.
