Poe's POV

I came back home 8 months later. The longest run ever. Soon as we landed, i ran out to find Hera. I mean for 8 months it bugged me for what Hera was going to tell me.

"Rose! Rey!" I ran into them. "Wheres Hera?" They both looked at each other, smiling.

"She's with Leia, in her quarters."

"Thanks." I patted them as I ran to Leia's quarters. "Uh, General? Hera?" I coughed as I was out the room.

"Poe, come in." I heard Leia's voice. I walked in. I saw Leia and Hera. I was shocked to see Hera. She stood up. My eyes widen.

Hera's POV

"I kinda thought you'll be back a lot sooner." I chuckled as I held my stomach. Before you say anything, yes, im pregnant. And yes, the father is who you think it is. Accidents happen. A one time thing and then BAM! For the first time and this happened. It took a lot of thinking and tears, but this baby will bring something good to us. With Kylo or not.

"I-i-" poe started stutter.

"Just don't stand there." Leia pushed him to hug me. "Ill leave you two alone." I smiled at Leia, who has been helping me these past months.

"Wow." Was all Poe said. "8 months i waited for you to tell me this? I kinda thought about it." I laughed.

"Yeah well, I didn't want to ruin the surprise uncle Poe." I gave him jazz hands.

"Does he know? Kylo?" I sighed.

"No. We haven't talked in awhile. I want to tell him, trust me, but i feel like i might put this baby in danger if I did." I stood up. Poe stands up, looking at me. "I can do this, by myself." I told him and to myself.

"Im here for you, always." I smiled at him.

"I know." We took a walk around the base.

"Names yet?" He asked me.

"No clue, I want to wait to see if its boy or a girl." I rubbed my stomach. "No matter what it is, I'll love it." I smiled to myself. "Enough about me! What about you? How was the run?"

"Long and stressful. It was a dead end." Poe shakes his head. "I gotta say, you'll make a great mother." Those words brought tears to my eyes. After months of thinking, will I be a good mother? I needed to hear that.

"Really?"

"Yeah. This kid is going to be lucky to have Hera Dameron as its mother." I gave him a hug. "Plus its going to be twice as lucky because I'm going to be its uncle."

"Oh yeah, definitely." I laughed at his comment. "Oh!" I squealed. "I want to show something!" I grabbed his hand and ran to my room. "Ready?"

"Im scared but okay." I showed him the little room I had set up for the baby.

"I had a lot of time on my hands. Rey helped too." I admire the room. The little bed, stuffed bear, just made my heart warm up.

"Im proud of you Hera, really." He pulls me in for a side hug. "Im glad to see you happy again."

A month Later

As the days gone by, the bigger i got. Im ready to pop this baby out, and today is the day. I stayed in the room that Rex had set up. A laid back, trying so hard not to scream due to the pain.

"Just take it easy okay?" Rex told me.

"Where's Leia?" I asked him. Poe comes in and holds my hand.

"She's coming, she got tied up with stuff." I groan, hitting my head against the pillow. Finn, BB8 and Rey were on the other side of the glass door, keeping me company. "Take a deep breath." The doors slid open and Leia came in.

"How's everything?"

"So far, so good. Hera and the baby is perfectly fine." I squealed in pain. Leia patted my arm. Then the worst pain kicked in. I screamed.

"And its show time!" Rex came in.

"I think I'm going to throw up." Poe looks up. I continue to scream in. I really thought this was going to be easy. Leia quickly grabs my hand, me thinking I'm was going to break it.  Poe comes to my side. "Hey, you got this."

"I cant!" I screamed.

"Yes you can." Leia whispered gently to my ear. I started to cry. "Just one more push and you get to hold your happiness. You'll get to see it's beautiful eyes, you get to feel the warmth of its body as it's against your chest." I shook my head. That did sound nice. "You get to see the one who will love you no matter what."

"Just one more." Rex repeated. I screamed as I took one more push. Then, i heard a cry. I let out a sob. The robot gave me the baby. "Its a boy." I saw his beautiful face. He had black hair, dark brown eyes. Just like him. I sat up and smiled down at him.

"Hi!" I cried. Leia and Poe sat next to me, admiring him.

"He's got your nose." Poe pointed out. I laughed.

"He is beautiful." Leia smiles. Her grandson, Poe's nephew, my son. Its kinda crazy to say I now have a son. "Whats his name?"

"Jax." The name just popped in my head. I held him close to my chest. His warmth was so relaxing. "Jax Solo." Poe kissed my head.

"That's a good name." Poe said as he looked at Jax.

"Can you promise me something? Both of you?" I looked at Leia and Poe.

"Anything." They both said. I looked at them, more at Poe, i looked away to Jax.

"Promise me that if anything happens to me, you'll take care of him?" I told them, without looking at them. "Please?"

"You have my word." Leia said as I passed her Jax.

"Anything will never happen to you or him, not on my watch." Poe wraps his arms around me. I placed my head on his shoulder. "I promise you that." Days later, I was on bed rest, Rex's orders. I stayed in bed, watching Jax sleep. He was just too beautiful. He's mine. He was a very quiet baby, doesn't really cry, he just muffles. I closed my eyes, just for a second until Jax started to muffle. I picked him up and rocked him. I went outside as it was a nice night. The stars were up. I sat down, rocking him.

"My little boy. Ill do right by you. I swear it." I cried softly. "Lets see." I hummed, his eyes were looking up at me. "Your father, he's a nice man, i know it. You know, you look just like him." I heard something in the back of me, me not looking back. I let it be. "You do a lot of things for love, and thats okay. No matter if their evil or not, nobody is really gone." Jax grabbed my finger, sucking on it, I chuckled. "Love, theres really millions of ways of what it is, but for me, you'll think of nothing else. You'll meet someone and spend your days dreaming of the moment when you can hold them in your arms again. Thats love." I thought about Ben. No matter how much I try not to, i really cant get him out of my head. "Your father, i hope," I whispered. "Will love to see you." I stared at the stars. I started to hum, a soft, yet beautiful tone. Jax curled up in my arms.

"I didn't want to intrude." Poe said from behind. I stood up, walking back to my room, placing Jax in his bed. "He will."

"What?" I turned around.

"I really don't like Kylo, but I know he'll love Jax." He sits on my bed. "And you." I sat down, about to sleep. "Don't worry about me, i just came to check you guys."

"Okay." Poe puts the blanket on me. I grabbed his hand, just as he was going to walk away. "Thanks for being there for me."

"Thats what family does."
