The Last Jedi

We finally made it to Crait. We unpacked everything that was left over the years. I saw Leia, looking out.

"They're coming, shut the door." She said as we closed the door. Everyone, the ones we had left, which wasnt a lot as before, grabbed blasters incase they did come in.

"Incoming!"

"Go, go, move! Get that shield door down!" The ship came through the closing door. We started to shoot at the jet. No movement.

"No! Wait, don't shoot! It's us! No, don't shoot!" We heard voices coming from the jet, and hands, surrendering.

"Hold your fire!" Poe commands. We stopped shooting, but had them ready in case it was a trick.

"Don't shoot!" Finn yelled as he and Rose jumped up.

"Finn?"

"Finn! Rose! You're not dead! Where's my droid?" Poe smiles. I dropped my weapon as I saw BB-8 rolling his way to me and Poe. "Buddy!" We kneeled down and hugged him.

"BB-8!" I smiled and kissed his head.

"We're are so glad to see you!" BB-8 started to ramble about the first order, how he took down the bad guys, and stole a random ship.

"Wait, what? Wait, wait, wait, slow down." I laughed. This little buddy has my heart. I stood up as Finn and Rose came down.

"Thank god you're okay." Finn said as I hugged him.

"Likewise." I patted his back. "Rose." I shook her hand.

"Hera." She smiled.

"Come on, we have to get ready." Finn and Rose went to get cleaned up.

"Is this all that's left?" Rose sadly looked around at the people we had left.

"Alright, our shields are up so they can't hit us from orbit. Use whatever power we've got left to broadcast a distress signal to the Outer Rim." Poe said as he puts his hands on his hips. Leia pulls him in.

"Use my personal code. If there are any allies to the Resistance, it's now or never." Rose came in with Finn.

"Rose, what do you got?" I asked her.

"Rotting munitions, rusted artillery, some half-gutted skim speeders."

"Well, let's just pray that big-ass door holds long enough for us to get help." I put my hands on my hips, looking around, hoping there was some type of way out of this mess. The whole place started to shake. We ran to the window we had, it was them. They pulled out a weapon, a big one. There was the army.

"What the hell is that?" I frowned.

"A battering ram cannon." Finn said without looking away.

"A what now?" Finn looks away and tells us.

"Miniaturized Death Star tech. It'll crack that door open like an egg." I closed my eyes in disbelief. Of course they would have something like that.

"There has to be a back way out of here, right?"

"BB-8, what do you got?" We turned to see 3PO and BB8 walking in.

"BB-8 has analyzed the mine's schematics. This is the only way in or out." 3PO said as he pointed at the door. I closed my eyes, rubbed my forehead.

"Come on. We have allies. People believe in Leia. They'll get our message, they'll come. But we have to buy time. We gotta take out that cannon." Fin grabbed my arm, looked at me.

"Youre not wrong." I turned to Connix. "Send out a signal. Keep watch and lets hope someone hears us." She nods her head and went to work. We had set up for battle. We saw old jets to go into. Poe comes and stands behind me. "Lets do this." I held his hand as we looked at the ships. He turns and kisses my head.

"For the resistance." We parted ways. I got into my ship as well as others, including Finn and Rose. I turned on the old jet. It took a while since its been ages since they have been touched. As the jet got started, i put my hands on the wheel. Its now or never, we can do this. The doors opened and we zoomed out.

"Ground forces, incoming."

"Copy that, on our way." I heard through the comms. Finn was struggling, slipping left and right.

"Engage your mono-ski. The green toggle." Rose told him. He engaged it and rode smoothly.

"All right, listen up. I don't like these rust buckets and I don't like our odds, but.... what the hell?" The ships were falling apart. One of my window shields flew off. "Just keep it tight and don't get drawn in too close till they roll that cannon up front. All right, ground forces, lay down some fire!" They started to shoot at them. I looked up to see fighters.

"Fighters, break off!" I told everyone. They started shoot at us, others crashed. "Come on! We gotta hold them till they pull up that cannon!" I shook some fighters off, but there was too many.

"Rose, you've got 3 right behind you!" I looked to see Rose.

"I can't lose 'em!" I went to distract them, but they continued to follow her.

"Son of bitch!" I yelled. Then the fighters blew up. The falcon flew by.

"Whoo! Yeah!" I smiled, Rey, you clever girl. All of the fighters turned back and followed Rey instead.

"She drew 'em off! All of 'em!"

"Oh, they hate that ship!" We still followed the plan.

"There it is! That is a big gun." I said as how huge it was.

"Canons opening, nows our chance!" The canon turned on. I gripped the wheel and tight as i could. "OK, it's heavily armored. Our only shot is right down the throat." They started to shoot everyone, one by one.

"They're picking us all off. We're not gonna make it." I said to everyone. I shook my head as i tired to lose them.

"All right, making my final approach. Target in sight, guns are hot." Finn voice came through.

"Im near it! I can do it! Stand down Finn!" I yelled through.

"No! Pull off!" Poe commanded.

"What?"

"No!" I talked back.

"The cannon is charged! It's a suicide run! All craft, pull away!"

"No! I'm almost there!" I looked to see where Finns Speeder was. He wasn't close.

"Finn fall back! I got this!"

"Retreat! That's an order! Finn! Hera!" I turned off my comms. I continued my way to the cannon. My eyes were only on it, I leaned back, took a deep breath. I saw something coming at me from the corner of my eye. Poe's speeder crashed into mine. I spun around and luckily, i didnt get hurt. Poe opens the door and unbuckled me. "Are you insane!" He pulls me out.

"Why would you do that? I almost had it!" I asked him.

"Because you're my sister. You're all i have left. I wasn't gonna let you die. Not today. Not again." Then a blaster almost hit us. "Lets go." He grabbed my hand and we ran to the base. "Move! Go, go! Quick!" We quickly went inside. The door blasts open, a tear in the middle. We had our blasters out, ready for what comes in. I hid behind a box.

"Med pack! I need a med pack!" I looked up to see Finn pulling in Rose. I stood up. Rex came running in.

"Put her here!" They carried her to the room. I felt like someone was staring at me. I turned around.

"Master Luke?" I said. I ran up to him. Everyone stood behind.

"Hera, you haven't changed a bit." He chuckles.

"Im sorry. I should've stayed, things could've gone differently." He places his hands on my arms.

"No, im sorry." I gave him a confused look. What was he talking about?

"What? Why?" I shook my head.

"I made Kylo Ren. I tried to kill him." My face fell. "You still have hope. I knew you would. Im sorry." He pats my arm and walks out of the base. I stood there, watching him, my master, leave. Poe walks up to me. Every gun that the first order had, shot at him.

"NO!" I screamed. Poe and Finn had to hold me back. I tired so hard to get out of their arms. They took me to control room. The guns stopped. The smoke started to disappear. I was in complete shock, Master Luke was still alive. Moments later, i saw Ben walking up to Master Skywalker. My heart dropped. We all ran out of the room to get a closer look.

"It's Kylo Ren." Poe said as he looked through the binoculars. He looked at me, I didn't stop looking at him. "Luke's facing him alone." Finn grabs the binoculars from him.

"Well, we should help him. Let's go." I grabbed Finns shirt, stopping him.

"No, wait. Wait." He looks back at me, confused. "He's doing this for a reason. He's stalling so we can escape." I figured it out.

"Escape? He's one man against an army. We have to help him, we have to fight." Poe shakes his head, he figured it out too.

"No, no. We are the spark that'll light the fire that will burn the First Order down. Skywalker's doing this so we can survive. There's gotta be a way out of this mine." He turns around, looking all over the place. "Hell, how did he get in here?"

"Sir, it is possible that a natural unmapped opening exists. But this facility is such a maze of endless tunnels that the odds of finding an exit are 15,428...." 3PO started to talk.

"Shh. Shush. Hush." 3PO continues to talk over Poe. "Shush up. Shut up!"

"To one." He stopped.

"Listen." I heard some type of wind draft.

"My audio sensors no longer detect the...."

"Exactly." Poe rolled his eyes.

"Where'd the crystal critters go?"

"Follow me." Poe Commanded. He turned around. Everyone was looking at Leia, as if they need permission. 

"What are you looking at me for? Follow him." We all followed Poe to the back of the base.

"This way." We followed the crystal critter to maybe the way out. "No. No, no, no. No!" The entrance was blocked my rocks. Poe slams his hands against the rocks. Then the rocks started to lift. Rey was on the other side lifting them up with the force. We chuckled. I ran up to Rey and gave her a hug.

"Rey!" We laughed.

"Its so good to see you Hera!" We both pulled away. We got everyone in the falcon, looking at it, we had lost even more than before.

"Put her in the room on the left." I told Rex as they carried Rose into the ship. I looked up, I had sense Master Luke's last breath. Leia and Rey had sense it too. They both got in the ship, me being the last one on board. Just as I was about to close the door, Ben appears. He stood up and just looked at me. I had nothing to say to him. I just felt so betrayed. How could he do this? First he made me feel like there was a chance and now he wanted to take me to the dark side and kill us? I shook my head and closed the door. That will be the last time ill ever connect with him.

"Im Poe." He greeted to Rey. I walked up to Leia, who was looking at me as I walked in.

"Luke's gone. Im sorry." I told her.

"Don't be." She grabbed my hand. "You were talking to him, were you?" She was talking about Ben. I looked up, trying not to cry.

"I dont want to let him go. Letting him go is the toughest thing i ever have done. My heart hurts so much but after what he did, i dont think ill ever be the same anymore."
