Jewel stares at the running water, while she let the tears drop down her cheek. She had made the biggest mistake In her life. She didn't have an idea of what he was about to do next. She wasn't crying because she had lost her pride but because of how disappointed her Mum would be, if she found out. Not after everything she told her.

She knew Nathan was never going to forgive her if he found out. She told him she was a virgin and wasn't ready, only for her to do it with someone else.

Trying to move from the bare tiles she sat on, suddenly feeling cold, she sights the dried blood on her laps. The pain she felt down there was already reducing, she couldn't imagine the pain she went through while walking down to the hostel, under the heavy downpour. They were preparing for the carol night, which was to be held the same day.

Exams were finished. Everyone had already arranged their belongings, because, by tomorrow which was Friday, after results have been given, every parent or guardian would be in school, to sign their kids out.

Hearing a loud sound, like someone was falling, she looks left immediately. Her heart skipped that moment. Their eyes locked that moment. She looked away quickly.

She could swear Jayden hadn't looked away. Since she embarrassed herself, she had totally avoided him. Even though he never tried talking to her after then, which did hurt a little. She did see the questions in his eyes when they met hers.

Jason was a topic for another day. Things had been awkward between them. Very awkward.

So awkward that she sighted him about to get in, the way he disappeared did shock her.

She couldn't believe it was already Christmas break.

She missed home, her Dad most especially. She wouldn't deny she missed Aaliyah a tiny bit, even though the girl was a pain in the ass, she missed her mischiefs.

Slowly peaking around the corner to see if Jayden was still there, they make an eye contact, which she broke immediately. Which meant he was still looking at her. She didn't know how to act anymore, should she walk, stand, bend. She didn't know how to walk anymore, more like her legs were suddenly shaky.

There was one thing she would never advise a girl to do, which initiated a kiss with a boy who wasn't your boyfriend. At first, you would act without thinking, but after that, you might die of embarrassment. It's been close to two weeks and it still seemed like it happened just yesterday.

He knew that dodging had been a bad move because she saw him. Things between them had been awkward since he initiated that kiss without thinking.

He did like her a lot but did regret it, due to some issues he had been battling with.

Sighting her at the corner staring into the space, he slows his pace.

He gets up slowly, now finding his way out. Most times he wondered why he couldn't just stay away from her. He knew she was broken, most times she seemed unfixable, acted crazy, yelled at him, she acted too dramatic, but he just couldn't leave her. Even though she had pushed him so many times to do so. He had always wanted to walk away, but couldn't, he had come to care about her.

The carol night had ended, instead of going back to the hotel, most persons just stood around the corners, making a small group and discussing.

The prefects had intentionally let everyone, since it was the last night in school for the term.

Jewel stands all by herself, with folded arms, moving her legs left and right playfully. Since there was no one to hold a conversation with, she kept herself busy doing nothing actually. For the past few days, she hadn't had a long conversation with anyone. It was either, excuse me, hey, matron is calling you, do this, do that kind of conversation.

Jewel looks left and right, she sights Geraldine and her new friend, a name she had chosen to address them with, even though it's been a while, they had been friends. She watches them for a while, quickly looking away, when Geraldine gaze meets her. She pretends to be looking in another direction. She could swear, Geraldine was still looking at her, not able to hold it anymore, she returns the gaze, giving her a bold look, which seemed more like a glare or a specific scary look, which she always threw at people she didn't vibe with.

Unfortunately, they weren't friends anymore. And she didn't want to look broken by it, even though she was. Losing her best and only friend. These few days had been intense, she did need someone to communicate with. Someone who could understand how she was feeling.

She felt left out, stupid and confused. Firstly, she had been avoiding Nathan, so it didn't matter if he was doing the same, because she wanted it. She found herself running away whenever she sights him, She couldn't face him after the incident with Leo. As for Leo, he didn't dare try to talk to her, not after she yelled at him, when he attempted talking to her, the next day.

Although she caught him always staring.

She didn't feel good after doing it, not as satisfied as she always did, whenever she put people in their place. She felt like a stupid mummy's girl, like Nathan called her.

I didn't say I wanted to date a mummy's girl.

Those words weren't something, she was going to forget in a while, it did hurt her.

Turning around she caught sight of Jayden, and as usual, Leo was by his side, they seemed engrossed in a conversation. Looking at Leo, everything that happened that night, came gushing back.

She knew that was something she was never going to ever forget about. Which girl would forget her first or how it happened. Even though he probably forgets, because it was obvious it wasn't his first time, she wasn't going to. And it was going to keep reminding how of how cheap and foolish she was.

Deep down she blamed herself. But he assured her he wasn't going to go further. Further meant having sex, or wasn't that what it meant? Also if the lights weren't off, she would have noticed him make that move and stopped him, or wouldn't she have done that?

Because she could remember vividly how she felt when she stopped, giving her ahead, and how everything cleared when he got into her. More like the spirit which possessed her, left, literally.

She almost jumped out of her skin, when she felt his hands on her. The voice only sent a chill to her body. Looking upwards, she comes in contact with the person she had been avoiding.

He was smiling at her, that smile of his, which caused some sensations, that smile which made her always stare.

Looking at Nathan, she silently hoped, he didn't see the guilt in her eyes.

"Where have you been? I would see you, only for me to look somewhere else and turn back and not see you again." Nathan says holding her arms. She didn't feel comfortable at all.

Slowly he drops her arms and takes her by the hand. She doesn't utter a word, because she seemed speechless. She didn't notice him. Only if she had sighted him, she would have ran away as usual.

Looking forward she meets Jason's gaze. She knew that look, he looked very angry and she knew what triggered it. But it was the least of her troubles.

One look at him, she does the next thing she could think of. Knowing the way Jason behaved. He didn't mind embarrassing her and himself there.

"I haven't finished packing." Jewel suddenly says. That was the first statement she was making. She noticed Nathan give her a worried look for a while, before letting her hand down slowly.

"Will I get to see you this night?" He asks in a caring tone. Like he actually really wanted her to stay.

"I haven't been feeling well. " She says without thinking. "I will see you later." She says and starts walking away, without waiting for his response. She didn't miss Leo's gaze. It dawned to her, he had been watching them.

He had this apologetic look on his face, which she was tired of seeing.

He knew better than try to talk to her. So she didn't bother about that. She knew he was scared of her for some reason, she couldn't understand. She noticed how he reacted whenever she yelled at him.

Was she that terrifying?

She knew the answer. That wasn't a question.

He knew she wasn't going to listen to him if he spoke to her calmly, even when he did it the way she was going to listen. By been yelled out, she didn't still stop.

For the past few days he hadn't seen them together, especially during the exams, he thought she must have stopped seeing him. But she hadn't.

He knew Nathan very well. He knew he was a big-time player, and Jewel was probably a game. Because that was the only thing he and his friends did.

He had confronted Ashley about it. If Jewel was a game but didn't get a straight answer. He knew what that meant.

"Your wifey is coming." Gbemiga suddenly says and chuckles.

"Chief distributors, for the boys." Axel backs Gbemiga up.

Jason facial expression suddenly changes. He knew it was meant to be a joke but didn't seat well with it. Before now, he would have laughed it off. But he felt insulted in a way.

While they made eye contact, as he expected she doesn't react. Her facial expression changed drastically.

"The novice and the pro," Gbemiga says and Axel burst into laughter.

"Omo, you both are funny sha. Her type can never be satisfied." Axel says.

Jason doesn't respond, he only uses his eyes to follow her to wherever she was going. He cringed inward immediately, she hugged an Art male student.

"Public toilet." Gbemiga finally says. You could hear the irritation in his voice. That was the height of it. Jason couldn't take it anymore.

"Guy, shut up. It's okay!" Jason says. You could see the irritation on his face. It wasn't hidden.

Jayden stares at his results not impressed at all. The only thing he could think of was he could have done better.

Ekanem was the one with the highest average, he took note of the fact, she scored higher than him with four points, which he felt was too much. He was used to coming top. But also knew this was a new school, he was getting used to the system, and was going to do better next term.

He drops Leo's result close to his, Leo had given it to him, before running off to God knows where, he looked in a haste.

Leo had the fourth-highest average, he knew who came after him, just by that.

He heard a noise, he looks up immediately, he noticed she wanted to walk out of the classroom, but seeing he had already seen her, she paused like she was caught in the act. She looked very guilty.

Talking about the devil. He noted, she couldn't make direct eye contact with him, she was trying hard to break it, by blinking ceaselessly.

He knew what was wrong. Although he hadn't been able to understand the meaning of that kiss.

"Sorry." He says referring to the fact she had almost fallen. That was the only thing he could think of saying, to kill the tensed ear.

"Yea.. Yes, Thanks." She stutters, he didn't miss the fact she looked away shyly.

That moment he wanted to laugh. This was the funniest moment, they have ever had. The girl whose mouth was always running, couldn't make a statement, all because she was embarrassed.

She kissed like an amateur, that was the first thing he took note of.

"You have seen your results right?" She rushes her words.

Jayden only looks downwards, pulling both sheets to him.

"Yeah." He responds.

"Uhmmm." She says slowly.

This was the most awkward conversation he ever had. He was speechless.

"Okay." She repeats.

At a point he wanted to bring up the kiss incident, to be clear of something. He was curious, you won't blame him.

He wasn't moved by the kiss, but you can't just kiss someone randomly and expect things to be normal between you guys. Things had never been ever normal between them, this was worst.

Jayden doesn't utter a word, he watches her attempt to walk away but suddenly stops and turns to him.

"Funny enough Ekanem isn't the only one I have to beat next term, you too," Geraldine says. He noticed a small smile on her lips and could tell it was a joke too.

Suddenly she keeps a straight face. He knew she was confused and didn't know the right thing to say or not to, she just wanted to get rid of the tension.

Jewel hastens her steps while she heads to the classroom, that was the only place she had in mind since Jason had gone to the hostel and couldn't find Jayden there.

There Dad was already in school and waiting, it was Jayden that was left out, so she was on her way to class to check if he was there, even though that was the last place she had in mind.

Sighting Leo, her legs starts wobbling, like she couldn't walk properly anymore, she licks her lips which has suddenly grown dry, especially with the awoken tensions.

She knew he wouldn't dare talk to her, not after their last encounter, she just had to put on a brave face and walk past him.

Getting past him, he pulls her back, she didn't expect this.

"What!" She yells involuntary, while they made contact. She took note of his head which was overgrown, which was unlike him.

"Can we please talk?" He asks slowly.

"Talk about what? Look my Dad is waiting for me. Can you let go of my hand?" She asks trying to sound authoritative.

"Jewel, look I never knew you were." He pauses and looks at her. More like he couldn't utter the word. "I didn't think you were still a virgin, " He finally said it. It did stir something inside her belly.

He suddenly pulls her into an empty class, which was very close. Jewel only moves like a leave pulled.

"I told you I dont want to talk." Jewel yell. "Leave me alone. What is it? I told you I dont want to talk about anything. I dont want anything to do with you." Jewel explains. "You did what you did, there is nothing to talk about. You didn't think I was a virgin, can you hear yourself?" Jewel says slowly.

"Fuck!" He exclaims. This was the first time she heard him use an f-word. He scratches his hair nervously and roughly. " I know you are mad at me. I am really sorry. I would never take advantage of you." He says.

"You said you weren't going to go further and I trusted you," Jewel says, she couldn't believe they were actually having this conversation, and deep down she knew she actually blamed him.
"Also leave my hand!" She says looking at her arm, expecting him to let go, but he doesn't.

"I only wanted to make you feel good."

"Or satisfy your disgusting self?" Jewel lashed with irritation.

"I never knew it was your first time!" He says defensively.

"That's all you have got. There is no need to keep explaining and defending yourself." Jewel says.

"I am not defending myself," Leo says slowly.

"What happened to consent?" Jewel asks giving him a look.

"I swear, I thought you wanted more, I didn't mean to hurt you. I only wanted to satisfy you..., "

"Satisfy me?" Jewel chuckles bitterly. "You are even defending yourself. Leo you wanted to fuck me, stops putting this on me." Jewel yells. She pauses immediately she notified, she yelled and used the f-word.

"Jeez, Jewel don't say it like that. It sounds disgusting."

"Does it?" She asks with a raised eyebrow.

He had pissed her off, by saying all this.

She pulls away from his hand roughly.

"I told you, my Dad is waiting for me." She says and attempts to move away, but he pulls her back. Jewel starts struggling with him, but couldn't move away, because of how strong he seemed.

"It kills me that you aren't talking to me. I can't believe I messed this up. Jewel, I am sorry. Okay I accept, I am sorry. I am disgusting. But please dont shut me out." Leo says pleading and looking very desperate.

"Just leave me alone," Jewel says trying to get out of his strong grip.

"Fine, I will do anything you want. You can punish me the way you want, but please dont black list me again, Jewel it's killing me." Leo says obsessively, completely scaring her.

"You are hurting me." She says slowly in pain. Immediately he lets her go.

"I promise I would never try to touch you without your permission again, please dont black list me again." He says, she doesn't bother looking at him, she only starts working away.

"I love you. I swear, I do. I would never do anything to hurt you intentionally, just give me one last chance." She heard he say, but doesn't bother to look back.

But the fact he used the l-word, made her slow down. On getting out of the class, she meets Ekanem leaning on the wall, with an irritated look on her face, she didn't have the time to think of when she got there, or how long she had been there. Because if she had been there for long, she would have overheard everything.

"Jason!" Geraldine calls out slowly, while he attempts to walk out. It was obvious he sighted her first and wanted to disappear as usual.

But she saw him on time.

"Hey, Gidi." He calls out smiling and scratching her head nervously.

"Hey!" Geraldine responds.
"Jason!" Geraldine suddenly calls out. She just had to say it, this was getting too awkward.

"About the kiss."

"I got carried away, I swear. It won't happen again." Jason says his voice breaking a bit.

There is a sudden silence. Geraldine only stares back at him, without any words in her mouth.

Was she expecting to hear something else

"Let's just pretend like nothing happened. It's getting too weird." She says trying to cover her facial expression.

Geraldine laughs like a kid while she walks over and throws herself on her Dad. He hugs her pulling her, up while she laughs and raises her legs up.

"Jesus, what are you eating? What did they give to my poor child?" Tari asks and smiles.

"Food." Geraldine laughs.

"You are so light. And I pay good money " Tari complains grudging, meanwhile Geraldine burst into laughter, wondering how her Dad wanted her to be like.

"Daddy, let's drop at cold stone." Geraldine says while her Dad puts her things into the boot, and locks it.
