Cherish walks slowly, to the cafeteria. She hadn't seen Zara since she got it. But her luggage and provisions were on her bed, which proofed, she had resumed.

She hadn't eaten, even before coming, she wasn't hungry then. But it seemed like she hadn't eaten for days, all of a sudden.

Suddenly feeling she had company, she stops walking, attempting to turn around, instead she feels a hand around her back.

"Hey."

She recognised the voice instantly. Now she didn't know how to walk anymore.

"How was the holiday," Ashley asks while he stops walking, and she follows suit.

The cafeteria seemed very dry, it seemed like they were the only ones there, because she didn't even spot anyone.

The next thing she could think of was her cereal.

"It was fine." She says, looking down her feet. Meanwhile, he makes her face his direction, with both hands guiding her.

"I missed you!"

She couldn't hide the smile, it came out that instant. And he smiled back.

They were back to school. No more regular chatting. Because since the day he left, he had never stayed a day without chatting her up on WhatsApp, it even got to phone calls, which she tried to avoid because of her mom.

It was one thing been called by a friend, who was a girl and they talk, especially Zara, she would be comfortable with it, but not Ashley.

And the fact he had asked her out again, and she hadn't given him an answer was still undeniable.

"We can always hang out during prep and after school, in the agric lab, whenever you want to see me, come there after school, I am always available after school, during prep..., "

"During prep?" She asks slowly. It wasn't only because it was lonely, but it was out of bounds, for junior students during prep. Not to talk about a fresher like her.

"I am the one in charge. No one will bother you." He says pulling her cheek playfully, meanwhile she tries not to smile. He just did what her Dad always did. Pull her cheek.

But there was just one thing she didn't understand. Where were all the girls she saw him with his girlfriends? Was this how he actually behaved with all of them. Been nice, and making them feel special?

Did he also have a meeting point for all of them?

Questions she found it difficult to ask.

"I have to go prepare for opening night. Go and get ready too." He suddenly says, squeezing her hand slowly, she noted him trying to get close to him, but pulls away Immediately.

She didn't know what he wanted to do, but it didn't seem like he wanted to kiss her. The fact she was already turning into a red tomato was very obvious.

"See you later." He smiles, patting her by the back and starts working away, meanwhile she watches him disappear, with folded arms.

Her Mum wasn't going to take it likely if she found out, she had been relating with the opposite sex to this extent, she also knew, she wasn't going to find out since it was also in school. Unless someone told her, which wasn't going to happen.

Had she been fantasising about having her first boyfriend?

But he didn't do that on purpose. He even made a statement, about it, thinking it was the right thing to say, maybe it was going to calm the tension.

Or should he have pretended not to see it. He hadn't even seen her coming. After she bumped into her, and he made the statement of her watching where she was going to, that was when he realized, the girl who was in front of him was the one he had been fantasising about for days.

"See, I have been looking for you," Leo calls out, holding him by the shoulder.

"Jayden. Thank God, I have been looking for you. Gosh, this place is too dry."

This statement made him remember that Ivy did resume with them.

She wasn't in the school day or Sunday wear. She was putting on a red plaited skirt and a white sleeveless top. He was very sure, she was going to get her uniform, the next day. If she wasn't going to get her day wear, later tonight.

"Oh, hi! You have a company." She says now turning to Leo, who looked clueless. "Won't you introduce me officially to your friend?"

It was her seriousness for him.

Leo only stands in their midst, clearly clueless.

"I am Ivy Adenuga!" She introduces herself, not letting Jayden utter a word.

"Cousins?" Leo asks slowly.

"Actually his girlfriend." She says and laughs, not missing the strange look Jayden threw at her that moment.
"Joking, " She chuckles. "We are actually related." She says and smiles.

"I remember seeing you the other day." Leo says like he already knew who she was.

"Emm, Ivy Adenuga!" A voice Jayden was trying to recognise calls out. He knew he had heard the voice before. He turns slowly, only to see Munachi, one of the girls, that participated in the quiz competition, the one who was also all around Leo.

"Leo!" She acknowledges, just as he expected.

"Hi!" Leo responds. Meanwhile, Ivy turns to Munachi, clearly interested in what she had to say.

"Matron said I should accompany you to go get your uniforms, and also show you around," Munachi says, looking quite interested in Ivy, as Jayden observed

"Jayden." Ivy suddenly say excitedly, clearly indicating she was leaving. Now turning to Munachi. "Let's go, although I am getting the boring vibe from the school already.

Meanwhile, Munachi chuckles.

"That's always how first days of resumption always feels like," Munachi says, meanwhile both boys watch them retreat.

Jayden puts both hands into his pocket, before turning to Leo, who seemed like he had something to say.

"So, Ivy. You both still hitting it?" Leo asks directly.

Jayden doesn't respond. But starts walking. Leo follows him up immediately.

"She is pretty though, but bears your family's name," Leo says looking ahead. "You both still smashing?" Leo asks, making Jayden wonder why he had to be so direct.

"If you don't want to tell me." He chuckles.

"You know the answer already," Jayden responds.

"Honestly, you both should be careful oh. In the same house. Anything can happen. If you keep doing it, you might make mistake and enter one chance, one day." Leo says honestly.
"You guys use protection right?" Leo asks, frustrating Jayden.

"Yes," Jayden responds, although he could remember vividly, what happened last time, and they didn't use anything.

But she claimed, she could handle it.

"We sort of didn't, the last time. But she said she could handle it." Jayden says honestly. Meanwhile, Leo doesn't utter another word.

"She hasn't talked about it, " Jayden says, trying to assure himself, it was nothing to be worried about.

"Pregnancy isn't the only thing, you know..., "

"I know, " Jayden responds slowly.

"I sort of made the same mistake the last time, I wasn't thinking straight. Though it was just one thrust, and I don't think she could infect..., "

Leo kept shut, when he noticed, they had company.

"Sharpshooter. Jayden the sharpshooter." Ashley hails while he walks past them.

Jayden knew Ashley wasn't going to stop anytime soon. He knew he wasn't going to snitch, but he wasn't going to hear the last of it.

Sitting on her bed. Jewel brings out the wrapped parcel, which she had hidden under her pillow, when she got back.

She didn't like the atmosphere, especially with Ukeme and Eva whispering to themselves at a corner, making her angry. This wasn't their room, so what were they doing in here.

The only thing which made her day was the fact Ivy wasn't assigned to their room. If not she might her lost it. Seeing her in the house, school or class was enough, not the same room in the hostel too.

After unwrapping the parcel, she opens it.

It attracted her that moment. It was very beautiful and she liked it. Funny enough, she wanted this new set, it had both a wristwatch and bracelet on it, and it was very beautiful.

She knew it would have cost him a lot. And she didn't even get anything for him, that was what came into her mind that instant.

She suddenly remember she had forgotten what she got for Nathan at home. Things between them had gone pretty bad. They didn't even get to enjoy the relationship before it turned sour.

Because it didn't take that long. After she cheated, she tried to avoid him, and he wasn't helping matter because it was actually like he was doing the same.

"I swear, I will tear her into a thousand pieces," Ukeme says loudly, making Jewel turn in her direction, only to see a raging Ukeme. She couldn't help but wonder who had gotten on her bad side though.

"Gidi!" She pauses, turning to Munachi who smiled at her, alongside a girl, whom she hadn't seen before.
"This is Ivy, she transferred for WAEC." Munachi introduces before Gidi could ask a question.

"Hey!" Ivy says to Geraldine, even before she could process what Munachi just said. She was only surprised, Hilton College gave admission to an Ss3 student, very close to WAEC.

It wasn't supposed to happen, it only meant her parents had connections to get this done.

"Geraldine Johnsons!" She introduces trying not to seem rude.

"She is the DSP girl, who matron wanted to show you around, but wasn't available then, also my friend." Munachi introduces, meanwhile Geraldine uses the opportunity to check the new student out.

She wasn't fat, but she wasn't slim neither. Geraldine noticed how endowed she was, especially with the hips. Suddenly noticing she was staring openly at her hips, she looks away quickly, only to get caught by her piercing eyes.

Which felt too intimidating to her.

Suddenly remembering Jewel, she knew this girl was going to be the right candidate for Jewel to hate with no reason this term. She only smiles, aware of how dramatic Jewel could be.

If only she were here, she knew how dramatic she would have been towards the new girl.

The new girl was beautiful, no doubt.

"Ivy Adenuga!"

The last name surprisingly brought Geraldine out of her thoughts.

It sounded weird even though she knew, anyone could bear that surname.

But remembering Jewel, she just smiles, at how dramatic she would have acted right now.

"Nengi!" Munachi suddenly calls out grabbing Geraldine's attention at that moment.

Things with Nengi had changed. Which wasn't the way it used to be. She and Nengi were almost inseparable before now, they always talked online, but the last holiday, he never sent her a message, apart from Christmas, neither did he respond to the ones she sent. When she confronted him about it, he pulled the busy stunt.

Nengi had never been busy for her.

What changed?

She had lost two friends in a term, it wasn't funny at all.

"Hey!" He waved at Munachi and kept walking away, shocking Geraldine.

Didn't he see her? He obviously did. She turns to Munachi.

"Are you both on good terms at all? He obviously saw you and didn't say Hi, which isn't possible on a normal day." Munachi says openly, not minding they had a third party in their midst.

Geraldine who seemed too confused to speak just keeps mute.

"I thought the senior prefect boy, was about to make an announcement!" Ivy suddenly says, interrupting both girls.

"It doesn't matter, we are seniors, no one would bother us. We would clearly get to hear whatever he announces later, besides it's just the normal announcement for borders." Munachi says in a carefree manner.

Walking out of the assembly hall, Jewel stares ahead while she heads to the hostel.

If there was something she wanted to do now more than ever, it was sleep like a newborn baby. She suddenly felt too tired and dizzy.

She sights a familiar face, while she continue heading that lane, he kept heading to her lane.

Recognising him, the anger she felt towards him disappeared that moment. This always happened. She always got upset at Nathan, but when she got to meet him, all forms of anger leaves. It gradually turns into excitement. Although she wasn't happy he had company. Especially with who it was. She never liked Xavier for once in his life. She also remembered giving him the insult of his life, when he tried to pull the relationship stunt with her.

Her heart starts beating profusely when she noticed, they were almost two steps away from each other. Then something shocking happens.

"Nathan!"

He leaves her lane, giving her space, and walks ahead, like he didn't notice a fly, not after making eye contact with her.

She suddenly stops and turns around, only to catch Xavier head turn, where he only chuckles, giving her a look, before looking ahead.

At that moment, she noticed she was struggling with tears.

Did Nathan just humiliate her in front of his friend?

But why? What did she do to him?

Did she do anything wrong?

She didn't remember fighting with him.

They had never fought before.

Jewel sees Nathan, who acts like he didn't notice her, she almost runs mad, after he ignored her in front of his friend.

"Guys, you needed to see what happened!" Xavier says Immediately he walks into the court, looking quite excited.

Meanwhile, Nathan walks alongside him, why Ashley turns in their direction immediately. He knew whatever was making Xavier sound so excited was worth it.

Besides they were the only ones in the court.

Their team members weren't yet. They just resumed but, they needed all the practice they could get because they qualified for one of the biggest inter-school basketball tournaments in the country.

They had gotten this far, and weren't willing to lose out.

"Nathan ignored his wife like a plague." Xavier burst into laughter.

Ashley needed no one to tell him, the discussion was about his cousin, Jewel.

"Whose wife?" Nathan asks and chuckles. "Abeg oh." Nathan laughs.
"The girl is just provoking me. Pulling the virgin stunt, I just got tired abeg." Nathan hisses, making his friends burst into laughter, this time around, Ashley was leading it on the floor.

"Look at this one?" Nathan says pointing at Ashley. "I will fuck her, nothing can change that. This is the last string I am pulling, give me till this Saturday, I will bring her panties to you guys." Nathan says, meanwhile Ashley facial expression changes.

"That's what we keep on hearing. You have lost abeg. (Please), " Dashline says and chuckles.

"Oya shut up, before I pump you." Nathan threatens in laughter.

"Can you?" Dashine burst into laughter.

"I am only breaking her emotionally, once I am done with her, she won't be able to resist," Nathan says.

Meanwhile, Ashley's gaze suddenly falls on someone. He doesn't miss the eye roll and hiss Ukeme gave him, while she walked past them.

"Ahan, another wife! Ashley, what did you do to that one? Because what happened now is tbs reversed of what happened with Nathan." Xavier burst into laughter.

The loud sound brings a great silence into the classroom. Everything came to a standstill, not just that, it seemed more like, everyone came to a standstill.

Taaaara!

This sound wasn't only crazy, it sent tension into the air.

"Jesus!" Fejiro, one of the backbenchers screams, meanwhile Geraldine doesn't move an inch.

Everything seemed confusing

The question wasn't just what just happened? It was, was this a dream?

Did Ukeme just give Ekanem two hot slaps, and Ekanem just stood there numb.

No no no!

This was impossible.

"Bitch! The fact you even had the guts to walk up to me and talk to me, isn't only insulting but downgrading. Slut!"

Now that last statement sent a chill and a total different signal to the class.

"Hehe!"

That statement was from the back, Geraldine didn't get to see who made that, her mind was only on what was going on, same as most of her classmates.

"This is serious," Munachi whispers to Geraldine's hearing.

"Ukeme!" Ekanem calls out slowly, already looking red.

"Don't you dare utter my name with that filthy mouth of yours," Ukeme yells, pointing at Ekanem, with a disastrous look.

"Betrayal!" Eno backs her up.

"Don't come into this, mind your business." Ekanem attacks Eno immediately.

"It's her business, so shut your disgusting mouth. You aren't only a slut, but a betrayal. You are just too cheap, here I thought I had a friend. You are just so disgusting. If not she didn't tell me, how would I have known?" Ukeme says. "And if you utter another word, I would beat you to pulp." Ukeme threatens.

Shockingly Ekanem doesn't speak. This does really shock Geraldine. She knew if it was someone else in Ukeme's position, Ekanem would have lashed out on the person, without thinking twice.

Now she knew who called the shots between them. But she was still trying to understand what this was all about.

"To think you were my best friend. But you are a backstabbing bitch." Ukeme yells, it was obvious, she didn't care about the crowd they pulled.

Now everything was making sense to Geraldine. More like she understood what was going on.

The next thing Ukeme does, clear her doubts.

"As for you. I am dumping you, not the other way around. Why don't you both have yourselves? Backstabbers." Ukeme says pointing and staring directly at Ashley.

This statement alone caused a lot of confusion in the class. Although Geraldine who now understood everything, keeps mute.

"Boyfriend thief. I should have known you always had your eyes on him, slut. You have always been one, and would never change. A cheap one at that." Ukeme says to a very quiet Ekanem.

"Best Friend's fighting over a boy in public, a cheap act which ought to be done in private, if necessary." Jewel chips in and burst into laughter, making most person's spare her a glance, not to exclude Ukeme and Ekanem. She flips through the book in front of her like she was actually reading it.

Jewel and not minding her business were like 5 and 6.

Geraldine only nods, hoping they don't transfer their aggression to her, even at that, she knew Jewel was willing to pick on a fight that wasn't originally her's.

"Why is everyone looking at me? I am minding my business, you all should mind yours." Jewel hisses now flipping on a book, which originally she wasn't reading.

Geraldine couldn't withhold her smile at that moment. Jewel was good in making trouble and acting like she didn't know what she was doing.

"Abi you want to buy a market that doesn't concern you? Because I am ready for you." Eno fires immediately.

Meanwhile, Jewel look up slowly.

"Abi do you want to sell it?" Jewel responds, twitching her mouth to the left corner. "Did I call anyone names?" Jewel asks slowly.

"What's with that statement you made?" Eno asks with a frown.

Geraldine picks her notebook slowly. She noticed the issue was turning to something else. Now it was more like Jewel and Eno were having their own round.

"And how does my statement affect you?" Jewel asks giving Eno a look.

"None of whatever is going on in your business, no one asked to stick your nose." Eno raises her voice.

"My dear, if you think I would keep shut because two maniac are talking, you should better pack your lunch, because you would have to wait a long while for that. And also you all made whatever is going on my business when you decided to showcase your stupidity in front of me." Jewel says without stopping for a while.

If only Jewel could just mind her business for once. Her life would have been much easier, Geraldine couldn't help but wonder. And the fact she would always make it look like It was her right and defend it could be shocking.

"Eno, don't talk to her. She isn't worth it. So childish." Ukeme hisses now pulling Eno alongside her, clearly heading out of the classroom.

"Did your brain take a laxative because there is a lot of BS coming out of your mouth?" Jewel says still flipping through her notes, making Geraldine wonder, where the hell she got her comebacks from.

"Bitch! Die!" Ukeme says, hisses and walks out of the class, leaving Eno who just stares dagger at Jewel. Meanwhile, Ekanem follows Ukeme's lead. The next minute Ashley walks out too.

The drama seemed unending.

"I will ignore you so hard you will start doubting your existence." Eno hisses and starts walking down to her seat.

"It's kind of hilarious watching you try to fit your entire vocabulary into one sentence." Jewel chuckles facing Eno seat this time.

There are some giggles made, it was obvious both girls were giving their classmates a show for the first day.

"Stupidity isn't a crime, so you're free to go," Eno says now smiling.

"Don't worry about me. Worry about your eyebrows."

Now that was like a slap on Eno's face. Because most students in the class were already laughing.

"Are you body-shaming me, you pig?" She yells now.

Meanwhile, Geraldine watches both girls, shocked at how quick they bought someone else fight.

"You know what? There are some remarkably dumb people in this world. Thanks for helping me understand that." Eno hisses.

"Good story, but in what chapter do you shut up?" Jewel asks with a raised eyebrow. "Fake eyebrows."

"Jealousy is a disease. Get well soon." Eno rolls her eyes. It seemed like both girls were ready for each other. Knowing Jewel, Geraldine knew she wasn't keeping shut in any moment.

"Ohhhhh." Fejiro burst into laughter, followed by other classmates.

"Your ass must be pretty jealous of all the shit that comes out of your mouth," Jewel responds immediately.

"Earth is full, go home." The moment Eno made this statement, the whole class became rowdy.

"Omo, Eno has killed it, Jewel go and find a place to cry," Somadina shouts, meanwhile most of their classmates laughs.

"If you were an inanimate object, you'd be a participation trophy," Jewel says.

"Bitch!" Eno says.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I offended you with my opinion? You should hear the ones I keep to myself." Jewel says.

"Abeg, aunty Jewel, she has won you, it's not sweet. Don't kill yourself." Gbemiga says and laughs.

"Shut..., "

"Class compliment," Geraldine shouts immediately she sights a teacher coming in, obviously cutting Jewel off.

Immediately the principal announces about the basketball tournament, the final competition. He tells the students to go to their various classes.

Geraldine tucks both hands while she heads to the classroom. Everywhere seemed rowdy as every student trooped to their various classes. She hadn't seen Munachi since she got to the assembly hall, and assumed wherever she was, she was with Ivy because she hadn't since either of them.

Almost bumping into someone, because of how absent-minded she was, she looks up, intending to apologise, but becomes tongue-tied, when she sees who it was.

It's been a long they had this very close contact. Also, he had been ignoring her, and she couldn't help but wonder why, she didn't miss the shock on his face too, it was obvious he wasn't expecting her.

"Hey, Gidi!" Jason calls out slowly.

"Hey, long time. Happy New year!" She uses the medium to say it.

"Same here." He responds, and they both keep mute, standing and just staring at each other, without any further statement.

"Umm, I need to go," Jason says. It was obvious they were a hindrance to people using the road.

"Oh, okay," Geraldine responds slowly, while he attempts to walk away.

"Emm, wait! Jason, did I do anything wrong to you?" Geraldine suddenly asks, meanwhile Jason turns in her direction, looking speechless.

Jayden watches Geraldine and Jason with lots of interest. They seemed very engrossed in whatever they were saying, and he just couldn't get his eyes off them.

He stares intensely, without taking his eyes off time for a moment, even though he couldn't hear whatever they were saying.

"You seem interested in her." Leo suddenly says joining him close to the wall.

"Pardon?" He asks, even though he heard him clearly.

"Gidi!" Leo makes it clear.

"What?" Jayden asks.

"It seems like you are interested in her."

Jayden doesn't respond. He didn't think the question deserved an answer from him, since Leo already had his theory, besides what was he to say?

"You know, if you keep on watching from a distance, and not gather the balls to talk to her, you might regret it later, especially with the fact, your brother seems interested too. If you continue like this, we might share the same fate. I had the chance and I was scared to use it, and guess what I ended up as, the secret...., " Leo suddenly stops when he noticed he had spoken a lot, meanwhile Jayden red meaning to it immediately.

"Are you dating my sister?" Jayden suddenly asks, meanwhile Leo licks his dry lips before responding.

"I would do anything to make her give me that chance, she doesn't like me that way," Leo says honestly.

"We chatted a lot during the holiday after you mistakenly sent her that message, and that was all." Jayden suddenly starts explaining himself.

"Are you sure?" Leo asks with a raised eyebrow. "Because I don't think so. I don't think they are dating for now, which means you can always shoot your shots now." Leo says.

"Which shot?" Jayden asks slowly. "We only chatted a lot." Jayden defends.

"A lot to make you steal glances at her all through the class today," Leo says shocking Jayden.

Because he just spilt the truth, he did that.

"Because I saw you," Leo says slowly.

Jewel gives Ekanem a look one last time, to be sure she did catch a tear.

Surprisingly she did feel bad for her, even though she tried to talk herself into enjoying everything that happened between her and Ukeme.

She subconsciously did feel pity for her but didn't know why.

If only she took her advice then.

It was obvious Ukeme found them out, and with what she had managed to gather in this short period, it was obvious Eno let the cat out of the bag.

Jewel looks at Ekanem's direction again, only to see her sadly staring at a direction, with so many emotions, following the direction, it lands on someone unexpected, the fact he also looked dull made her curious.

Why was her Ekanem staring at her brother like that, and why did he have that look?

If there was something that made sense at the moment, it was the fact the conversation he had with Leo had made an impact.

"Hey!" Jayden calls out, while he leaned on one of the chairs. School was over for the day, and currently, they were the only ones in the classroom.

To think of it, he had been thinking of talking to her, since he had that conversation with Leo, deep down he knew Leo was right. Geraldine and Jason seemed pretty close, but he did doubt they were dating. It didn't matter before now, but the truth was that he was also attracted to her, Leo wasn't wrong about that.

How it began wasn't the issue, the issue was the attraction was growing and he was also curious.

She had kissed him once, it meant one thing, she was also interested in him.

She doesn't respond, she only gives him a surprised look, although she looked very self-conscious. She had a simple hairdo. It was just weaves, unlike before. Her hairdo had always been something he loved to stare at. Her hairstylist always did a great job.

"Sorry about the other day, I didn't mean to make you feel bad. I wasn't mocking you when I said you shouldn't be ashamed of it, because it's nature." Jayden starts by explaining himself because he didn't forget how hurt she looked that day, especially when he smiled. He only smiled because he couldn't help it. It was funny how she acted, he didn't aim at mocking her.

Now he didn't miss how surprised she was, and couldn't tell why she was having mood changes.

"You know, you seem two-faced." She blurts out, taking him by surprise. "Most times you are all silent, like you can't talk, and other times you are talking much more than expected. Well not to my face, but you did sound like a totally different person during our chats, that I had to wonder if it was really you, and you also made it seem like it wasn't on Sunday." She says choosing her words slowly and carefully, meanwhile Jayden stares back at her.

"Look, you have started it again. Ignoring me!" She says pointing at him. "I don't like it when I am ignored, honestly." She says meanwhile Jayden clears his throat on impulse.

He was speechless and had nothing to say, not like he didn't want to talk on purpose.

"You see!" She says and chuckles slowly, it was obvious she was pained. "See you later!" She said

That was when it occurred to him she was going to leave, and deep down he didn't want that.

"I really want us to be friends." He says rushing his words. He could see the confusion and look of disbelief on her face. He himself didn't believe he just said that.

This was the first time in his life he was asking someone to be his friend, and it felt very awkward, and embarrassing.

"Emmm!" Geraldine stutters, he hadn't seen her this confused before. This was definitely the most awkward conversation in the history of man.

"Jaydeeeeeeeeeeeen, I have been looking for you!" The emphasis made on the name was so obvious.

This was supposed to save them from the awkward situation, but the fact it was Ivy, was going to make it more awkward and Jayden knew it.

Especially with the way Ivy grabbed his hand. He noted how confused Geraldine looked.

"Now, I get the surname, you both are cousins?" Geraldine suddenly asks.

Why did this question make him more uncomfortable?

The fact he didn't respond and neither did Ivy, made it worse.

"Emmm, I need to be in the hostel, I have something to run for mummy matron." Geraldine suddenly says it was clear she wasn't comfortable with their silence. "Bye!' With that, she grabs her bag and starts walking away.

Did he just make everything worse?

In less than a minute, she is out of the door.

"Wow, this school really made an impact, I didn't know you had female friends now," Ivy says.

Jayden didn't miss the displeasing sound in her voice.

Immediately he gets out of the hall, she blocks him. That was the only thing she had been waiting for.
She didn't care he was in the company of his friends.

"Girlllllllllllll, " Nathan calls out, he seemed shocked.

"Why have you been ignoring me?" Jewel demands in a raised tone, meanwhile Nathan looks left and right, before pulling her to a corner

"What?" He asks slowly.

"Did we have a fight I don't know of or what?" She asks now calmly, now getting a grip of herself.

"No!" He responds slowly
"About yesterday. Look I am sorry, I was in a bad mood, I have been busy with the upcoming tournament. That's just it, it's been eating me up." Nathan says slowly. Meanwhile, she starts feeling self-conscious of his friends, who stood a distance away, especially when it dawned on her Ashley was also there, and the look he was giving her was displeasing.

"Look Jewel, I am freaking busy right now, why don't we talk later?" He asks slowly.

"But you guys will be leaving for the tournament soon." She says in her usual babyish tone.

"Later babe!" Nathan says and starts walking away. Meanwhile, she stands rooted at a spot.

She couldn't believe it, he just walked out on her, not even waiting for her to be done with whatever she had to say. That simple act did hurt her so much.

Nathan had changed so much, this wasn't the sweet Nathan who asked her out. The Nathan who always wanted to see her, and called her always. This Nathan was totally different. She didn't want to lose him, because it seemed like that was what was going on.

He was the only friend she had currently, there was no one to talk to, and now he didn't have her time anymore.

She folds both hands and stares ahead only to see Ekanem staring at her from a distance. She give her a look slowly and turns in another direction.

She didn't know where to head to at this moment. She felt lonely, and the fact, she was only going to the hostel to see annoying facing and hear stupid gossips, she diverts her direction to a classroom.

She starts walking, with both hands folded, her eyes suddenly catches a chart, which had a picture of different stages of a pregnant woman. This suddenly brings back memories of something she had been suppressing.

She had missed her period, and it was becoming scary.

Now she was sure about it been missed.

Cherish heads to the lab. Ashley had told her if she wanted to see him, she would always find him there.

And she wanted to see him, why did she want to see him? That was a question for another day, because she got no answer.

She had gotten used to always talking to him, and now there wasn't any cell phone to do that, but she could see him facially. And most times she felt shy.

She knew she could get to the door of the lab and turn back to the hostel, without even entering, due to how shy she could feel that moment.

"Come on Zara, I care a lot." The voice didnt seem familiar, but the name did. Cherish suddenly stops walking, exactly close to the window of the library.

She attempts to walk away.

"Senior Xavier, leave me! I want to go to the hostel."

Cherish recognized the voice that instant.

"Senior Xavier?" The male voice calls out.

"Isnt that what I am supposed to call you?" Zara fires, making Cherish wonder if it was the same senior Xavier she knew, Zara was talking to, and when she got the balls to talk to a senior like that.

"Come on." The male voice says. Making Cherish move closer to the window, and peeps.

Lo and behold, she saw both of them clearly, she wasn't mistaken, it was her best friend Zara, and Senior Xavier, one of senior Ashley's friends.

"Dont you trust me anymore?" He asks pulling her to his arms, meanwhile Zara looked away. "I love you."

"Yet, you hang out with those bigger girls in Ss2, am I too small for you?" Zara asks. "You always tell me you love me, but you always hurt me, you are just like Senior Nathan," Zara says, now she was sobbing.

"I am not like Nathan."

Cherish didnt miss the anger and defence in his voice.

"Have you seen your period?" He suddenly asks. Picking Cherish attention.

She saw Zara nod her head indicating a yes.

"Those girls are just a bet. I have told you, they dont mean anything to me, they are just a game between I and my friends."

"Just like me right?" Zara cuts him off.

"Zara, you are my main girl, no one is taking your place." He half yells

"Then why do you hide me from your friend, why do you pretend like you dont know me whenever you are with your friends?" Zara asks pulling away roughly.

"Because I dont want them to know about us, I dont want them coming after you, dont you get it?" He asks looking frustrated.

"No, I dont." She says moving away from him.

He suddenly brings out something from his pocket, something Cherish couldn't make anything of.

"Dont make the mistake you made the last time, because I dont...,"

"Yes, I am childish, I am a child, dont you know you are dating one?" Zara says and hisses, not taking whatever he was given her away.

"You are my baby." Xavier suddenly chuckles pulling her into his arms. Cherish notice she didnt object.
"I love you, always know that. And you need to take that, if not I will get into a big problem, if you get pregnant, you will too." Xavier says.
"Never take anything without telling me." He says.

"She said if I was pregnant, it will flush it," Zara explains, making Cherish ear stand erect.

"Do you want to die, dont ever try that rubbish again? Who is she to you?"

"She is an older friend from church, I told her I was scared, when I missed my period...,"

"And she gave you something to drink and you drank it?" He asks with a raised eyebrow.

"I was scared."

Cherish couldn't believe her ears at that moment, was it her own Zara talking.

"Cherish!" She heard her name that instant.

Why did the person have to call her then? Looking into the classroom, she noticed Senior Xavier and Zara detangle that moment, while they stared at her shocked, looking ahead, she noted Senior Eva.
