The twins were making their way toward the school when Stiles stopped. Brooke slows down as she notices her brother behind her, "Stiles?"

She follows his line of vision to Lydia's car, "Stiles."

"Just a second." He says

"No, we don't have a second." She says, but he was already walking off. She makes quick steps behind him, "Stiles!"

"Hey, Lydia, what's wrong?" He asks, but the girl rolls her window up, "Lydia, come on-"

"Just go away."

"What's wrong?"

"Look, I don't need anyone seeing my cry." She sobs

"Ah, come on, Lydia. Look, you shouldn't care if people see you cry, all right? Especially you."

"Why?"

"Because I think you look really beautiful when you cry." He says softly

Brooke looks around frantically as Lydia rolls her window down. Stiles sets his arm down on the car causing Brooke to let out a groan.

"You're gonna think I'm crazy." Lydia says

"Lydia, if you trust me on anything, you can trust me on this. There's nothing that you can say to me that'll make you sound crazy. Literally, nothing."

"Stiles." Brooke calls out. Stiles looks back as Brooke makes wide eyes at him. He turns back to Lydia.

"Can you just give me five minutes? I know, I'm sorry. Just, but, just stay here, continue crying- or not crying- if you want, or whatever works for you, um, but just stay here, and I will be right back, and then we can talk- About anything. Yeah? Okay, just five minutes."

He turns and the two take off toward the school. Both of them quickly finding the principal's office and rifling through looking for the book.

"Did you find anything?" Brooke asks

"No." Stiles says pulling out his phone and pulling up Allison's contact, "Nothing. Here."

The twins jump as someone walks in, "Oh m-"

"Hello, Stiles." Erica smirks, "Brooke."

"Ah! Ah! Ah!" Stiles exclaims as Erica pulls him by his ear. Brooke yanks her arm away as they make it over to the pool room, "Oh."

"Stiles."

"Derek."

"What did you see at the mechanics garage?" He say spinning a basketball in his hands

"Uh, several alarming EPA violations that I'm seriously considering reporting." Stiles says. Derek chuckles before popping the ball, "Holy God."

"Let's try that again."

"All right, the thing was pretty slick looking. Um, skin was dark. Kind of patterned. Uh, I think I actually saw scales. Is that enough? Okay, because I've somebody I really need to talk to." He says as Derek stares back at him, "Hrr. All right, fine, eyes. Eyes are, um, yellowish. And slitted. Um, has a lot of teeth. Oh. And it's got a tail, too. Are we good?" He asks. The twins notice their eyes trail above them. Brooke turns and follows their line of vision. Her eyes widening as she finally sees what Stiles was describing, "What? Wait, have you seen it? You have this look on your faces like you know exactly what I am talking about."

"Stiles." Brooke says

"What?" He asks as he turns to her. She points up making him turn around. The animal screeches causing the twins to stumble back. Seconds later, the creature jumps down from the railing.

Erica and Derek growl at it, but Erica is quickly shoved aside into a wall. Derek turns and pushes Stiles back, "Run!"

Before Derek can turn back around, the creature swipes at him. Derek's head whips around in search of it.

"Derek, your neck!" Stiles says. Derek slowly falls back into the twins arms. Both of them wrapping his arms around their necks and walking off, "Hey, come on. Where is it? Can you see it?"

"I can smell it. Call Scott!" Stiles tries pulling his phone out of his pocket, but fumbles it. He lets go of Derek and bends down to grab it. Brooke doesn't expect all of Derek's weight to fall on her and they both lose their balance, "Stiles, ah-"

Stiles hesitates before jumping in the pool and grabbing Derek. Brooke comes up with a gasp as Stiles and Derek emerge from the water.

"Brooke. Help!"

Brooke swims over and wraps Derek's arm back around her shoulders, "I'm gonna kill you, Stiles."

"Where did it go? Do you see it?"

"No." Derek says

"Okay, maybe it took off."

The three look up as they hear screeching. Brooke turns to them, "Maybe not."

"You get me out of here before I drown." Derek says

"You're worried about drowning?" Stiles says, "Did you notice the thing out there with multiple rows of razor sharp teeth?"

"Did you notice I'm paralyzed from the neck down in eight feet of water?" Derek exclaims

"Okay." Brooke calls out, "I don't see it."

The twins start to swim toward the edge of the pool before Derek yells out, "Wait, wait, wait, stop, stop."

They finally see the creature next to the wall slowly circling the pool. Brooke breathes heavily, "What's it waiting for?"

They watch it approach the edge and place its hand in the water. It quickly pulls away before scurrying back.

"Wait, did you see that? I don't think it can swim." Stiles says

"Okay. Okay, I don't think I can do this much longer." Stiles says looking toward the edge. Brooke turns and notices his phone sitting on the edge of the pool.

Derek immediately catches on, "No, no, no. Don't even think about it."

"Would you just trust me this once?"

"No." Derek exclaims

"We're the ones keeping you alive, okay, have you noticed that?"

"Yeah. And when the paralysis wears off, who is gonna be able to fight that thing, you or me?"

"And that's why we've been holding you up for the past two hours?" Brooke says

"You don't trust me I don't trust you. You need me to survive, which is why you are not letting me go." Derek says

Stiles looks toward Brooke as Derek stares him down. Brooke sighs before nodding her head toward the edge. Stiles drops Derek's arm and swims off.

"Stiles!"

Brooke groans as she holds onto Derek tightly, but his head was already going underwater. Brooke's hand begins to slip before she eventually has to let him go. She lets out an exhausted breath as Stiles swims back over with his phone above his head. He immediately begins calling Scott as Brooke takes in a deep breath before going under.

"Scott!" Stiles yells

"I can't talk right now." Scott says before hanging up

Stiles groans as he tosses his phone aside. He goes under and swims down to help Brooke bring Derek up. The two swim up as quickly as they can before they all emerge with loud breaths.

"Tell me you got him." Derek breathes

Brooke looks to her brother who shakes his head. Brooke rolls her eyes as she throws her head back.

"I can't stay up any longer, I need something to hold on to." Brooke breathes. Stiles looks around quickly before spotting a ladder. He starts to swim over catching Brooke's attention. Both of them making their way toward the ladder while holding onto Derek.

They just barely make it before loosing their grip on him. Their heads begin to sink under before they're pulled up and out of the pool. Brooke coughs as a growl is heard throughout the room.

Brooke sits up as glass shatters. Derek and Stiles sit up as Scott holds a piece of glass up to the creature. A few seconds later, it runs off and up the building before breaking the glass ceiling.

After retrieving the USB on the keys to the office, the three made their way outside. They plugged the USB into the computer and started to read over it.

"Is that even a language?" Stiles says

"How are we supposed to figure out what this thing is?" Brooke asks

"It's called a kanima." Derek says walking up with Erica behind him

"You knew the whole time." Stiles says

"No. Only when it was confused by its own reflection."

"It doesn't know what it is." Scott asks

"Or who."

"What else do you know?" Stiles asks

"Just stories, rumors."

"But it's like us?" Scott says

"A shape- shifter, yes, but it's- it's not right. It's like a-"

"An abomination." Stiles interjects earning a nod

"Derek?" Scott says, "We need to work together on this. Maybe even tell the Argents."

"You trust them?" Derek exclaims

"Nobody trusts anyone." Scott says, "That's the problem. While we're here, arguing about who's on what side, there's something scarier, stronger and faster than any of us, and it's killing people and we still don't even know anything about it!"

"I know one thing, when I find it? I'm gonna kill it." Derek says before walking off
