Changing sides

Do you know, what is the hardest thing ever when you write? Starting.
I'mma be completely honest here - I forgot that this book existed.
Chapter start:
Cross groaned, letting his face fall flat onto his desk. He regretted ever agreeing to the whole plan of saving Trivial.
Though, what Killer came up with couldn't even be considered as a 'plan'.
The first time that he heard what Killer came up with he just shut the whole thing down, saying he would prefer to die than do any of these things Killer asked him to do.
But after a few days he began thinking that, maybe - just maybe - there was a slight chance, that it'll work.
What would work exactly?
Cross pretending to switch sides.
Killer told him, that he was the most likely to be believed about changing his mind.
There also comes the fact that for some reason Dream is really fond of Cross.
The positive skeleton has tried many times to convince Cross that 'there was a better way' and 'hurting others won't make thing any better'.
Killer was the only one who knew about this, since he caught them once in the middle of a fight.
Cross never saw Killer more angry when he found out about this.
Cross lifted his head up, blinking a few times. A few good seconds have passed.
"Well..." He started, pulling his hood over his face. "If there's even the slightest of chances that this'll work, I'll try."
This won't last forever anyway, maybe a few months to make sure everyone trusts him, but it'll be worth it in the end. And it's not like everyone knows Error is living with them now, so they couldn't really say he wants the kid. There's nothing that could go wrong.
Famous last words.
**********************
This sucks.
Cross was walking around CandyTale for about an hour now, and nobody was showing up. At least he gets free chocolate out of this.
He knew he couldn't just go and cause chaos in the AU, since he knows it wouldn't help with trying to convince the Star Sanses.
But it was just so boring!
Cross started to feel uneasy as a thought that Nightmare is going to go look for him soon entered his mind.
There was another detail about this whole plan - no one can know.
Meaning that the whole Gang - except for Killer - wasn't allowed to know as in why, Cross decided to leave.
Killer said it would make everything more believable, but Cross had a feeling that sooner rather than later Killer would spill everything out.
There was also a chance they would figure it out on their own.
Cross is just hoping that he won't be forced to do anything too stupid to make things more believable.
Cross didn't hear the sound of footsteps slowly approaching him.
"Cross?" Asked a voice in slight disbelief. Cross out of habit, just materialized his knife pointing it at the newcomer. He cursed under his breath when he noticed that it was Dream.
He forced himself to calm down and put the weapon down, softening his grimace on his face he just stared at Dream.
"Hi."
Well, that was one way to start a conversation.
Dream slightly shocked that the other wasn't fighting, but also seemed so down in the dumps decided to take a step forward.
"Are you okay?" He really didn't like the negativity coming off from the monochrome skeleton.
Cross clenched his fist, desperately fighting off the urge to snap at Dream took a deep breath.
"Not really." He replied coldly. He knew he should be nicer but the pure fact that he was around Dream, not fighting, but talking to him, just made him sick.
Dream still being confused, but happy that he and Cross were talking made him push all his own worries aside.
He thought if it would be a good time to convince Cross to join him.
"So Cross..." Dream just happily went over to him, not noticing how Cross tensed up as he did. "Did you change your mind?"
'NO!' Cross screamed in his head, forcing himself to relax, all in all, no matter how much he hates it, there's a chance he might have to spend a while in the company of the shorter skeleton.
"I did actually, and..." Cross sighed deeply, putting on his best act "I'm such a fucking idiot for not realizing sooner, that you were right all along." Cross saw how Dream seemed to beam at that, but he also noticed how he frowned at the curse.
"I never should have act upon my own emotions, I just- I was just so mad that everyone else got to live happily in their AU's while I was stuck in that empty place." He forced himself not to flinch when Dream put a hand on his shoulder "When Nightmare found me, I thought that I could make those monsters feel the same as I did by taking away their homes." He hid his face in his hands. " God, I'm so stupid." He couldn't really believe he was doing this.
He send Dream a small smile. "But then you appeared. You were like an angel who wanted nothing more than to save, but I would always refuse to give in... Can you forgive me..?"
Dream felt his face heat up. "Of- Of course I forgive you Cross! I'm just so happy you finally came to your senses!"
Cross had to hold in a gag.
Dream then hold out his hand towards Cross, with a huge smile. Cross took it and watched as Dream opened a portal.
"Come on, you have to meet everyone! Nightmare won't reach you there!"
They stepped through.
