The Missing Link: Mirio × Soul Mate Male reader (A03 request #5)

Everyone had a soul mate except for Miro. Everyone had their marks, letting the others know their soul mate appeared. Every mark was unique and matched the person they were supposed to be with. Miro didn't have a mark appear on his hand, so he assumed his soul mate didn't exist yet or passed away. The sad truth was that marks disappeared if the other half died, so his not having one possibly meant that. He wasn't too sad about it, though, because then he could focus on being a hero. It's what he always wanted to do anyway. He might as well focus on that rather than focusing on what he didn't have.

"Ready Y/n?" A man asked as you were making sure everything was in place.

"Yeah, hopefully this time I'll make it," you said as you were checking the readings.

"You know it's okay if you don't," the man said.

"There are other planets out there with life. I have to make it if I do think about all the advancements we could get. I'm tired of being a child genius, I want to find people like me," you said as you made sure everything was finalized.

"This is a life or death mission!" The man said as you walked him to your office.

A man went to your ship and scoffed.

"Child genius! Fraud!" He muttered as he smiled.

He started messing with the ship you made. He wasn't going to let you make it out of the atmosphere alive. You were always telling him how to do his job when he was three times your age. You don't know anything! You graduated high school at the age of ten and always dreamed of space. You studied hard and made prototypes for years. You were smart and never let your overwhelming knowledge make you seem arrogant. You acted like a normal kid even though you were smart.

"We spent millions on this. This is the last chance before they shut us down if we don't make some progress. Richard, please, I think this is worth my life," you said as the older man sighed.

"I know you don't have much to lose, but you are like my son to me," he said.

"Thank you, you did teach me how to be a real kid instead of a genius," you smiled as you hugged him.

"Now let's go to another planet!" You smiled as he nodded.

You into your space suit, and have your one-man air shuttle to your wormhole device you had spent years making.

"Okay, so on three, we will launch you into the wormhole. We have it set for the meanest planet that fits the criteria for your plant, and hopefully, there is life on it that's intelligent. It's ten light years away, so no normal air shuttle will cut it if you want to come back. This is possibly a one-way trip. Are you sure you want to do this?" Richard asked.

"Yes, send me off!" You say happily as he sighed

"By Y/n, it's been nice knowing you. 3.... 2... 1... Launch!" He said as he hit the big red button.

"Here I go again on my own! The only road I have ever known!" You sang even if those weren't the right words.

You wanted those to be the last ones he heard. Your little space shuttle started picking up speed, making you brace yourself by grabbing the belt, and the hole opened up wide.

"Hold on... Y/n, you are going too fast!" Richard screamed in terror as he was trying to shut it down.

"We can do it! I'll be fine!" You yelled as you jumped through the hole as soon as he found a way to shut it off.

"Oh shit," he said as they started watching the monitor. All they could see was the wormhole light and hearing you struggling to breathe through the speed at which you were going.

"It's so quiet! Man, I'm so glad nothing bad has happened yet," Miro said.

"Don't say that, please," Tamaki said as Nejire smiled.

"I know, want some ice cream?" She asked.

"Heck yeah!" Miro said.

They went to get some ice cream, and Mirio smiled as he ate his ice cream with Tamaki by his side.

"No soul mate yet?" Nejire asked.

"Nope, but it's okay. I don't need one," Mirio smiled as Tamaki sighed.

"I wish you could have mine. She talks a lot," Tamaki said softly.

"But she likes you and doesn't push you to do stuff you don't want to do," Nejire smiled.

"True, plus she cooks well. Also, she added stuff to my suit," he said awkwardly.

They looked up at the stars in the clear night sky as they saw your spaceship on fire coming down to Earth.

"Wow, that's so pretty," Nejire said as you were screaming and alarms were going off.

Pieces of your ship were breaking off, and Miro looked at it confused for a moment before realizing that it wasn't just some old space rock it was a ship of some sort.

"Aliens exist! Awesome!" He yelled as he quickly went to slow down the ship.

"What do you mean?!" Nejire yelled as Tamaki quickly followed behind him.

"This is terrifying," Richard said as they were watching the camera, and they could see fire.

"His fault he got the speed wrong," a man said as Mirio showed up and had his hands on the noise on the spacecraft.

"What the fuck is that?!" Richard screamed as Miro was having the time of his life.

"This is the best day ever!" Mirio yelled as they crashed, making the front of the aircraft crush your legs and hands.

You were couching as smoke started filling up the craft, and a small fire broke out.

"That was the worst experience ever...," you say as you look around and see everything was damaged and sparking.

"Shit,' you said as you tried to get out, but you were stuck.

You struggled a little inside while Miro came from the crater of the ship happily.

"This is awesome!!" Mirio yelled as Tamaki and Nejire looked at him, horrified.

"Your clothes!" Nejire said.

"Whoops, don't want our new friends to get the wrong idea," he said as he picked up his clothes and put them on.

"What the hell is this?" Tamaki said as Nejire looked at it shocked.

"Hey, look at this. It's like a spaceship, but it also looks like a new fighter jet the Americans were working on. I saw it in an article it was written in the late 2000s," Nejire said, "but this is different." She said.

"Let's go see who's..." Miro paused as he was about to put on his gloves but saw a mark of a rose appear on his hand.

"I got my mark!!! My soul mate is whatever is in this spaceship!" He said.

"That is just a coincidence. It could try to kill you!" Tamaki said as he saw pieces fall to the ground in the night sky.

"Doesn't matter! This is my chance! I will marry whatever is inside this spaceship even if it kills me!" He said happily.

"That is the worst idea you have ever had! We don't know what's in there!" Nejire said as smoke started coming out of it.

"That's why I'm going to open it!" He said proudly. "I'm coming in; you adorable whiplashed alien. Girl, boy, anything in between don't care ill love you anyway! Don't you worry about a thing I got this!"

He ripped off the door and went in and heard you coughing. He went to where you were, and you looked at him shocked.

"Well, aren't you a cute little space, man! My hero's name is Lemillion, but my real name is Mirio Togata," he said as you sighed with relief.

"Awesome, it is going to take you more than... strength to get me out of this," you said as he started prying the metal away from your body.

"We speak the same language. This is awesome!" He said as he put out the small fire that broke out in your ship.

"Hey Lemillion...," he paused, seeing you in your space suit. You took off your helmet and let it roll to the front.

"After we get you somewhere safe, I'm going to hide your ship for you and collect all the pieces I can find," he said as he helped you out.

"Thanks, I don't know how your government will be with me around. Heck, I don't know if you are all just crazy people or," you paused as you started feeling sick.

"Are you alright?" He asked as you threw up where you stood violently, making Nejire and Tamaki look away disgusted.

You passed out next to your vomit and Miro picked you up.

"He's so cute and small like you Tamaki! I love him already. I will name him Lenard, no wait, Space until I know his real name!" Mirio said.

"His name is Y/n Trojan, it says so on his suit," Tamaki said.

"Awww! That's so cute!" He said.

"Miro, you can't just take an alien home! There are rules plus. People are going to find out he's not from here and want what he has if his planet doesn't have quirks think of all the chaos that will happen if people get their hands on the technology he used to get here!" Nejire said.

"We can't just leave him here! Plus, he's my soul mate. Look at my hand,' he said.

"It's a coincidence, but he's right. We have to take him to school and help him get back to where he came from. Otherwise, his planet will be in danger. Hopefully, he doesn't eat us while we sleep," he said.

"Here, take him to my room and change him out of those clothes. Take him to the nurse afterward, and I'll be there. I just have to hide his ship," he said.

"Okay, here I'll go find the scattered pieces. We can cover up the hole once you are done hiding the ship," Nejire said.

"We have to tell the principal that we have him so he can weigh out the pros and cons. Having him at the school can be dangerous," Tamaki said.

"Okay, now we have a plan. Let's go. Bye Y/n I'll bring you flowers and a card!" He said as Tamaki sighed.

"You aren't even from here! You won't have a mark," Tamaki muttered as he took you back to Miro's room.
