The Heart In The Box: Kyojuro Rengoku × Reader Part 8 (Smut)
Rengoku stayed with your parents once you left, mostly to talk about plans such as children, if he was considering that, where he was going to live, and if he was willing to retire to be with you. It was a lot to think about and talk about, especially because your father warned him about your demon blood, not Bing Curable maybe, and had to think about his life span. Your father had no idea how long he was going to live and was willing to die with your mother when it came time to because of the horrible acts he committed while under the influence of demon power, he tried to fight. He was not allowed to leave town, and if he did, he was going to be fair game to all demon slayers.
He hid his powers well, and because of that, he went undetected by several demon slayers that passed through. Plus, he warned him about your need for human blood if you got hurt too badly or starved for too long. Rengoku knew the risks and was ready to take you as is because he didn't care. He loved you, and it showed. He spent the whole day with your parents, but when he got up in the morning, he felt dread. The dread was heavy on his heart, and he had never felt anything like it before. He didn't have any nightmares it was just a bad feeling. But you were feeling it. It had to be, which made him worry something really bad happened.
"I think something is wrong," Rengoku said as your parents were getting up to start their day.
"What?" Your mother asked.
"I think something bad happened to Y/n. She's scared," he said as he grabbed his sword and proceeded to leave carefully, not letting the light in your underground home.
You sat weakly next to Tanjiro and the others after you looked at yourself. You weren't healing right at all, and that meant your demon powers were failing you.
"I guess I should have rested more... at least I'm not going to kill any humans," you said as you saw Nezuko under some beams unconscious.
You went over to her as the sun began to rise, and you quickly went over to your box and put her in. During the fight, your box was destroyed, but so was every hiding place you could get to in time. All the kids you were going to leave behind, Rengoku as well, your parents. You never told Rengoku you loved him or told him the funny history of how his father asked her out on a date, but she said no because she was determined to die a demon slayer.
You were bleeding badly, so you wrote a quick message on the box door for Rengoku in your blood before passing out. The sun came quickly, and you quickly caught on fire as well as your blood on the box. But you were still there. You did disappear like everyone thought you were going to. Your human half survived the sunlight, and now you were bleeding out in the sunshine.
Everyone was taken to the butterfly mansion, and you were on a stretcher while people were trying to stop your bleeding. They didn't know you were a half-demon. All they thought was you were a human who needed help. Maybe you got caught in the crossfire, which happened more often than not.
But when the girls saw you, they were shocked to see you being able to stay in the sunlight without getting burned or disappearing. When Rengoku hurried to the butterfly mansion, the girls were trying to hide you from him.
"Where is she?" Rengoku asked as he tried to be calm, but he was losing his calm rather quickly.
"She's in really bad shape. Kyojuro can be out in sunlight. But I don't know if she is going to live through her injuries," one of the girls said.
"She can't be in sunlight; she'll die like a demon. She's a half-demon," he pointed out with a slight smile.
"Where is she?!" Tanjiro yelled as he was out of bed.
"Her box broke and... her demon powers weren't healing her fast like how they used to. Something is wrong with her," Tanjiro said as Rengoku's face turned pale.
"What happened?" He asked.
"The demon almost killed me, but she took some of the blows so we could kill it. But it was like she was a human," he said as Kyojuro started to go through the rooms, not caring about the rules they had in place.
When he found you, he didn't know what to do. His sword hit the ground, seeing you so banged up and being in a room full of sunlight. His smile dropped, and it hurt him to see you like this. Once again, you took the hits so they wouldn't die. But since you were still very weak from healing him, your powers couldn't keep up with your injuries.
He didn't even bother to pick up his sword, and he sat next to you. He wrote a quick note to his brother and your parents and had his crow send it to them. He was speechless and heartbroken, but his silence spoke volumes to everyone. He heard a knock on the door, but he ignored it because he was more worried about you dying when he stepped away. He wished he could heal you like you healed him. He missed everything you two did together, including being outside at night.
When you were weak, still he took you outside at night and meditated, and you showed him things he never really noticed while being out so much. The stars were beautiful, the animals that you would never see during the day unless they were sick or dead. How everything seemed so different and yet so beautiful because you made it that way. He loved being with you and loved how you made the night so much brighter just by being in it.
"Kyojuro," his father said as he froze in thought.
"I didn't send the note to you it was for my brother," he stated rather coldly.
"I know, but I got here as fast as I could. I'm sorry this happened," he said.
"Sorry this didn't happen to me or sorry she can walk in the sunlight?" He asked.
"Kyojuro," he said.
"You never liked her because of what she is. I never cared, and I knew as soon as I looked at her, and yet instead of jumping to conclusions, I let her talk. I ate what she made, and it was the best thing I ever had in my life. She gave me her life so I could heal, knowing fully well she could die doing it or worse, turn into a demon and start killing people. No matter how hungry she was, she never broke her concentration. No matter how much pain she was in, she stayed just so I could have a chance. So I could have more time to enjoy my life while she suffered in silence. I can never repay her for her kindness or tell her that her life has always had value. She never thought it did, and that's why she's here in this bed. Because she thought she was going to be alone forever, however long she lived, and wanted to make sure the humans always had a chance. A chance to be happy and find love because she never was going to. But she made me happy, she made me smile, she made me fall in love with her just by being kind and selfless. For excepting people were going to hate her but never holding it against them and for being an amazing cook. I never thought I would have wanted you and Mom had, and now I won't have it because I didn't tell her soon enough," he said weakly.
"I'm sorry, Kyojuro, I am," he said.
"Sorry that you didn't kill her? Sorry that I didn't die in the first place and that a demon saved me. Sorry that you think I got brainwashed into loving her? Or sorry that you still want to kill her after all she did for our family! She may be a demon, but I love this girl more than anything, and you disowned me because I cared for her! You put your hands on her after saving my brother and you! It's bad enough that she gave most of her powers to me that she couldn't heal right, and you just had to make it worse for her!" He yelled, making everyone in the mansion shocked.
Kyojuro never yelled out of anger, and it scared everyone.
"All you had to do was be nice to her even if you didn't like her! All you had to do was thank her for saving me, and yet you wished I was dead and that she never saved me! I wish she just let me die because then she wouldn't be here! She would be healed and dying! I told her not to heal me, and she did it anyway because she cared too much about a stranger she briefly met! How is this even fair to her? All she wanted was to make the world better, and she made mine better just by being in it," he said as tears started to run down his face.
"Kyojuro, I know I was harsh, and I should have been thankful she even could heal you like that. I'm sorry, and if there is anything I could do..." he paused.
"Leave, leave us alone. I don't want to see you right now," he said as he nodded and left as Kyojuro started sobbing.
All he wanted was you back, and it was hard for him to accept that he might not get you back. Days passed, and your body kept catching fire once the sunlight hit it. Yet you were fine, he decided to clear out some space that was covering wildflowers and it was going to be the first thing he showed you once you woke up or these were the flowers he was going to put on your grave anytime he got the chance to but he was probably not going to make it very long without you. He knew it was selfish, but he loved you more than life.
He barely ate or slept, and finally, after a week, you woke up after catching on fire again. He was sleeping in your bed after pushing two beds together. He still had you mostly in his arms. You were starting to move a bit, and he immediately woke up and smiled brightly.
"Kyojuro, what happened? I should have died. Please tell me Nezuko and the others are alright," you said as you saw he had been crying.
"What happened? Wait, why is the room bright? Kyojuro, I can't be in the sunlight. I'll die!" You said as you tried to get away.
"No, you won't. I can prove it to you, trust me," he said.
"What happened, Kyojuro?" You asked.
"You overdoing yourself again. You are taking five months off to heal, or you are going to be more careful when fighting demons," he said, "everyone is fine. You saved everyone once again."
"Why were you crying?" You asked.
"I'll tell you in a little bit. Do you think you can get up?" He asked as you managed to stand, but walking seemed like a challenge.
"Hold on to my clothes, and I'll walk you out," he said as he covered your eyes.
"Okay?" You said as he walked you out of your room and shock filled everyone, seeing you up and around.
Rengoku put his finger to his lips so no one would distract you. He made it outside with you, and he walked you over to the wildflowers you showed him a little bit ago. He took his hands off of your eyes, and then you opened your eyes. You were outside in daylight, making you panic, but you realized you were fine.
You were speechless as you saw the flowers in daylight and that you could be in it. You took a minute to process what was happening, but after a while, you started crying because you never thought you could be in daylight.
"You will burn, but you won't die," he said with a smile as you looked around and felt the heat of the sun on your skin.
"It's so beautiful," you said as tears started to fill your eyes.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it, I'll write a letter to your parents and my brother that you are fine and you can be out here as long as you like, okay?" He asked as you looked at him.
"You aren't staying here?" You asked.
"No, I can't. I have to let your parents know you're fine. Just take it easy, alright," he said as he was about to leave, but you realized that rather quickly, he cleared the weeds so you could see the flowers all the way.
You also quickly realized he was in your bed he never left you even though you didn't know how long you were out for. You smiled as he walked away, but you stopped him, and he turned to look at you. You kissed him, and it took him by surprise, but he kissed you back like he was never going to be able to kiss you again.
His father saw you kissing his son, and he was happy while his little brother was shocked seeing you covered in blood and bandages. Some of the villagers came by with your mother and a large wagon that had an eight-foot by five-foot box for your father, and it was being hauled by four large horses.
"Finally, my good god, I thought they would never say anything to each other," Obanai muttered as Mitsuri smiled.
"Love is complicated, and you know she was only trying to protect him. Being a demon isn't glamorous. Also, I got your letter,' she said as she showed it to him.
"You weren't supposed to find that for a while," he said.
"Oh, I know, I love you too, and your cute little snake too," she said as she pulled the bandages off his face and kissed him on her lips.
That night, you were so happy. You two decided to get engaged and married a few months after that. You two were sitting together in your room while you two were planning out everything for your wedding and your engagement ceremony.
"Looks like we got everything," you said as you picked up your plate of food and started eating on it again.
"We should try to get some sleep. You have had a long day," he said as you looked at him confused.
"Me a long day? You barely slept," you informed him.
"It was worth it tough," he smiled as he kissed you, and you kissed him back.
"How does your father feel about us getting married, though? He probably still hates me," you said.
"I don't care what he thinks of you, I just know I love you, and it won't change. No matter what happens to us in the future," he said as you smiled.
"I'm glad I saved you. I couldn't believe that worked, honestly. I'm still shocked I was able to hold out for that long," you said.
"You're stubborn, I knew you could do it," you said as he kissed you.
The kiss got heated rather quickly and you smiled as you started to go backward and ended up on the ground you put your food far away so you wouldn't make a mess and you put your arms around his neck so you could kiss him more. You could see where this was going, and you had no interest in stopping it because you loved this man so much. You couldn't believe you had someone willing to overlook your demon powers and your potentially long life span.
You started to tug on his clothing, and he started taking it off and going right back to kissing you.
"I don't think I can wait till we are married," he said as he smiled at you.
"I had a feeling you couldn't by the way you were kissing me, and by the way, you were looking at me," you smiled.
"You might end up pregnant on our wedding day," he said as you kissed him.
"I don't care as long as I have you," you said as he kissed you again out of pure need.
He wanted you, and you wanted him. You started taking your clothes off and nearly throwing them to the other side of the room because you wanted him.
He was fully on top of you, waiting to give him the ahead, and after a quick yes, he put himself in. It hurt a little bit, but once he was in and slowly started moving, it was perfect. You were trying to be quiet, so you didn't alarm any other sermon slayers, but you needed him and wanted him. You held him close and scratched his back as he kept moving. You came what felt like three different times, and you wanted more of him. You couldn't stop moaning, making him go faster until he quickly pulled out and lay next to you out of breath.
"Sorry, I was not expecting that," he said as you smiled.
"You have barely slept, and it was perfect. Maybe tomorrow we can try for a baby," you said as he looked at you with a bright happy smile.
"I would love that. My father wouldn't but I think he would understand," he said as your parents would be over the moon happy that you were pregnant even if it wasn't after marriage as long as you were happy that's all they ever cared about.
