2 -My Little Sister-
A/N: if you don't have a little sister, well now you do (in this story). If you do have a little sister then you know how annoying they can be at times. This is a chapter about it.
[Name's] POV
The first thing I heard when I walked into the front door of my house was, "You're such an embarrassment!"
My 13 year old sister stormed out of the kitchen, her phone in hand. "Why do you always have to embarrass me?!"
Marlie shoved her phone in my face. There was a picture of me peeling off the pizza from my butt on the screen.
I didn't know they took pictures.
"This is all over social media!" Marlie screeched at me. "You're such an embarrassment to this family!!"
"And you're a mistake," I sigh, waving my hand to dismiss her. Her mouth was agape. I know that must've sound rude and bitchy of me but that's how my sister and I show our love for each other. By hating each other.
"Look, I have homework to do. So tell me how much I'm an embarrassment to this family later," I yawn, making my way to my room.
I sat down at my desk near the window and took out my homework for English. I had to read the first chapter of 'The Fault In Our Stars' by John Green and write a summary about it.
I finished the chapter and wrote my summary. Then I moved on to math. Pulling out a huge textbook, flipping to page 73 and brought out some paper to go along with it. I scribble down my answers, in a hurry to get this dreadful math homework done.
My door busted open and I just knew who it was. Without looking back I say, "What do you want Marlie? I'm doing work."
"Social Media told me that you talked to Travis Boyer," she stated. I could hear her coming closer to me until she stopped right by my side.
"You act like Social Media is your best friend," I mumble. "I mean I guess it is since you have no friends."
"I do to have friends!" She scoffs. "Anyways, you talked to the Travis Boyer! That's so cool! I guess you're not much of an embarrassment after all."
I continue with my math homework, looking at the textbook for guidance. Marlie continues to talk.
"You should totally give him my number! Or, make him give you his number! Because if you do, you'll be the best sister ever!" Marlie squeals with delight.
Yeah cause he'll totally fall in love with a thirteen year old girl.
I shrug my shoulders. "Fine. Just leave me be."
My little sister screams with joy and runs out of my room, slamming my door. I sigh and continue with my homework.
...
The next day at school, I looked for Travis. He was at his locker, getting his stuff out for Math. I tapped his shoulder to get his attention.
He turns and looks at me with those forest green eyes. My knees became weak and buckled a little. I maintain my balance while talking to him.
"Yes [Name]?" He says.
He knows my name!
"My sister," I pause for a bit. "She is your biggest fan girl and would love your phone number. She asked me to ask you and-"
"So you want my number?" He smirks, his eyes shining with mischief.
"N-No! I mean yes..w-well... My sister does. Her name is Marlie and-" I was interrupted yet again by him.
"Yeah yeah your sister," Travis teases. "Here."
He took out a pen and wrote his number on my arm. My face heated up as he winked at me, "Tell your 'sister' to call me, okay?"
"O-Okay," I stutter as he walked away. I took a breath and then another.
He gave me his number!!
...
As I walked into the door, my sister glomped me, almost knocking me to the floor.
"Did you get his number for me?!" She asked frantically.
"Yeah. Chill out," I push her off of me and take my jacket off. I look at my arm only to see a giant black smudge where the number should be.
"Where's his number?" Marlie asks, glaring at me slightly.
"I-It was on my arm," I mumble. "I guess it got smudged off."
My sister screamed, jumping up and down and throwing the biggest tantrum I've ever seen. My eyes grew wide and I stepped back a little. She look at me with angry eyes, and balled up her fists.
Marlie pointed an accusing finger at me. "I know what you did! You put his number in your phone and wiped the number off your arm so I wouldn't have it! You're the worst sister ever!" She snarled, before storming up to her room. She slammed the door causing me to wince.
I sigh and wipe the remaining smudges off my arm. I headed towards my room, passing Marlie's in the process. She was screaming to her friend on the phone about how much of a terrible sister I am. I just shrugged it off.
I atleast tried.
"Such a whiny baby," I said loud enough for her to hear me. I opened the door to my room and stepped inside, closing the door behind me.
I ploped down on my bed and sighed. There was no homework, and Alexa is at basketball practice so I had nothing to do. Well, besides chores, there was nothing to do. Marlie comes barging into my room, clearly angry.
"Why do you hate?!" She screams.
"Because you hate me?" I reply. "I'm just returning the favor."
"I do not hate you!" She says, clearly lying.
"You were just complaining to your friend about how terrible of a sister I am," I say dully.
"I was just mad okay?" Marlie growls. "I just wanted his number and you didn't deliver!"
I shrug. "Whatever. Get out," I respond coldly.
"Rude!" my little sister scoffs. She leaves my room and slams my door in the process. I sigh and roll over to my side.
I wish I did get to keep his number for myself.
